Gem of an establishment in a fantastic location! Beautiful rooftop terrace with great views and a fine selection of drinks, perfect for the weather we've been having as of late👌🏽 The service we recieved was next to none, both Maisy and Nyron had fantastic chat, gave great recommendations, and made us feel right at home!

Thank you for a wonderful evening. I could not of wished for anything more for my 60th. Just fantastic everything. Would definitely recommend this gem of a pub in central London x

OK pub but a bit loud and crowded. Only had a couple of drinks so cant comment on the food.

Stopped for a drink, so busy couldn't get anywhere to sit which made it an little uncomfortable to enjoy our drink

Ended up here for the second time by chance, we ordered 2 margheritas for 23 pounds and when they arrived they were without salt on the glass which might be acceptable but when we asked for the salt, the waitress said she ran out, if this was Dubai or any other capital, the drinks would have been remaid and served the right way … The Italian waiter was nice tho Hope this is taken as positive feedback

We booked the rooftop terrace for a family celebration. It’s a great location in the heart of Covent Garden with lovely views, a roof that opens and big glass windows. The space nicely accommodates about 40 people, has its own bar (with excellent bar staff) and bathrooms. The available food and catering options are excellent. The support and service we got leading up to the event were really good; all the details were covered and the team were very responsive. Our celebration was a great success and enjoyed by all. We highly recommend.

We had a brilliant time at the Marquess yesterday for a reunion drinks and lunch. All the staff were brilliant, and Yusef made us feel really welcome up on the roof terrace. We had a roomy and airy space in the dining room for lunch, looking out over Drury Lane, and couldn't believe what a fantastic, comfortable venue it was for central London. And the food was delicious too! Our doggy was with us - no trouble at all and lots of space for her to relax in. Thankyou, we'll be back!

Our group of five ladies were on the first floor this afternoon and we had fabulous service from Maria. She was professional, friendly and had a great sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was super - two in our party had the fish & chips which was humongous. Two others had Caesar’s salads and I had the smoked salmon which was delicious. I would recommend this venue without hesitation. Don’t be put off by the crowds of drinkers outside - they’ll be room inside, plus a roof terrace.

Popped in here for drinks with a couple friends whilst on a London day out, and had such a lovely time! Staff were really welcoming and helpful when my friends couldn’t decide what they wanted, I think the lovely lady was called Beth? 10/10 recommend!

Booked the rooftop bar for a private party. Staff were great making cocktails and running the bar. Platters of food excellent and tasty.

Do not order to table. The bartenders just don't look at the app orders. I had to go and tell them that I had placed an order. It's much more efficient to go and order at the bar.

Great vibes here, especially when the sun is shining and the rooftop terrace is open.

I’ve been a regular at the Marquess of Anglesey Pub for over two decades, visiting frequently, and I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere. However, recently I had a very unpleasant experience with a man working there. This guy, who I believe might be from Eastern Europe, has been incredibly rude. His English is broken, but the bigger issue is his attitude – he’s downright disrespectful. I’ve never encountered anyone like him in all the years I’ve been coming here. After reading some other reviews, I realized that he’s been responding to people’s feedback online, and his responses are even worse than his behavior in person! It makes me wonder if the managers or owners are aware of what’s going on, because this sort of treatment could drive away loyal customers. I don’t know what the situation is, but it’s definitely a negative change for a pub that’s always been a local favorite. I hope the owners take a closer look at what’s happening with staff behavior, especially when it’s as rude as this.

I was there to enjoy my time and I saw a member of stuff was bullying a foreign customer like myself who seems to be a very nice person and he didn’t say anything to them. I will never go there and will let my friends know…

Very rude bar staff who don’t mind if other customers push to the front of the cue after standing in the cue for over 20 minutes. Plenty of better pubs round the corner.

The food was delicious and we had some of the best service on our trip to London here! Our server in the restaurant was amazing and she was handling the whole second floor. We will be back on our next trip.

Fast and impeccable service, very friendly 😄. The fish and chips cost 20 pounds but considering the size and taste it was well worth it ☺️. Smaller fish and chips are available on request.

What a night we reserviced an area on the roof top to have team drinks after a long days sales meeting, the atmosphere was great and the fellas behind that bar was amazing Thank You. Team Swords Travel.

Popped in for a quick pint and was greeted by the lovely maria, anni and pier. All staff were super warm friendly and very knowledgeable about the selection of drinks available. Myself and willow will definitely be popping in if we know these guys are working!!!

Vey expensive £40 for 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine but I guess that is London prices

We have regular get together at the MoA and we always have a great time. Despite the rooftop space being very crowded, the bar service is always top class and the food and drinks are great. Can be a tad cold when the roof is off mind you !!

Very relaxing atmosphere. Not too crowded.

This place was packed with an extremely loud group of people at the next table. It was ok for us, but may have irritated others. We ordered the Sunday Roast (beef rump and chicken). The beef was overcooked unfortunately. The food had no seasoning. But it was a fairly decent meal. The waiter was what made this whole meal tolerable. He was knowledgeable and funny. I probably would not return.

October 1st the wife and I swung in for some late night eats just in the nick of time, wife loved the spiced squash soup, burger was just a burger and chips were delicious 😋

Have been here for a quiet couple of hours to myself, with a nice glass of wine and a good book. The venue is lovely, but I would just like to particularly thank Mark behind (and in front of) the bar, who has greeted every customer with joy and been so friendly, he is an absolute star.

This is a sad story. We used to come to this pub 20 years ago or so. It was always a stalwart. Reliable, fun, fast. We're Londoners. We've been back twice in 2024 and something rather dreadful has happened. It's turned into a kind of restaurant pretending to be a pub but tragically, as with so many central pubs, the staff *just don't care*. There's no need to, right? There will always be passing trade in Covent Garden, after all. The upstairs area is staffed by temps, so numerous that they are almost falling over each other while managing to avoid noticing that you might need something. While uninterested in being fun, fast and helpful they are remarkably assiduous when it comes to taking payment. Is there anything worse than slow table service in what is meant to be a fast, fun pub? I guess there's a nice view of the street. Now there's a new roof terrace! And it's some kind of party bar. Sigh. Pubs can be masterpieces. This was! It now isn't. Please can someone buy it and rescue it?

Had a ticket for the opera but had to attend an online work meeting last minute. Staff were great in finding me a spot to sit on my laptop out of the way. Managed to have a lovely lunch before hand.

Friendly pub, plenty of choice at the bar

We went for dinner on a Friday evening. We didn't book a table but we managed to get a table on the first floor where the atmosphere was nice and the decoration chic. We chose this place because of the January set menu and closeness to the musical theatre which we attended afterwards. We needed to request the set menu as they didn't bring along the carte menu, although it was possible to use in the time and day where we went. They came to take note of our order very quickly but we waited half an hour for our starters to arrive (two salads). And then, we needed to request our main and dessert as soon as we got the starter as otherwise, we wouldn't be able to finish our food before leaving for the musical. We felt a bit in a rush, although we thought there was enough time, so we would recommend coming with plenty of time if you are going for a pre-theatre dinner to avoid this, especially on a Friday or weekend. The food was good but nothing special although desserts were delicious. Service was attentive and kind and they do their best to place our orders quicker after the starters. We might come back to try their fish and chips as was looking amazing.

3 sunday lunches ordered yesterday 1 vegan. No roast potatoes, plain par boiled received, no cabbage, no swede. We did get mashed carrotts, & hard standard carrots, 2 chicken legs (was listed as 1/2 chicken) 3 small slithers of beef that actually tasted and looked like liver! 1 yorkie and a slither of gravy. When highlighted we were told oh they must have ran out of veg. Extra gravy was requested and 2 trips to the bar to ask for salt & pepper and again for the gravy which was delivered in a tiny egg cup size container. Very disapointed as it was cold & wet outside and certainly didnt get what we expected.

Such a lovely young liverpool lad who was so helpfull when my friend and i had lunch thursday it was raining so hard, he even gave us a brolly unfortunately we could get it to open ,so we left it downstairs, so many thanks for good food.. good service ...

We went a few weeks ago and had a great time with a few drinks, the main bar was nice and our server Alice was really friendly We had wanted to get food but it was a bit busy downstairs, besides that a great place!

I held my birthday on the rooftop bar, having some friends over wine and canapés. We all had a great time as the food and drinks selection were delicious. The service was amazing with Lakaya, Frank and Nyron being so attentive and ensuring that everyone had what they needed throughout the whole night. The space itself is stunning without a need for decorations at all. Could not recommend the pub further to celebrate your special moments!

I came in recently just for drinks and was served by a lovely lady named Kadina. She made our whole night. The service was fast, drinks were great and fun conversation to go with it. Will be coming again.

The service from Kadina was absolutely amazing we had such a great experience as well as the really good food!!!

Normally the food is very good but something seemed to go horribly wrong with the kitchen this time because the main course was cold or at least not hot and the dessert pretty well inedible. The waiters were very apologetic and tried their best but it wasn't the pub's finest hour.

I came here early afternoon recently for a drink and a bit of food. When I arrived I ended up waiting a while to order my drink despite the pub/ bar not being too busy and when I finally got round to ordering the man (older, grey haired, short gentleman) behind the bar taking my order was rude and standoffish. When I asked if I could order food he told me in a very aggressive manner that they were not doing food until later with no reason given. An hour later I decided to order off the app instead of the bar and it showed some food options available so I ordered (just some chips). When it came the people serving it threw my food down onto the table with the same aggressiveness as before. I have since read some previous reviews and can see others have had similar issues with who I can only assume is the same man by the description. Do better Youngs and listen to your customers!!! Very disappointed.

Nyrom was fantastic and enthusiastic on a gloomy day with the kiddos in London. Good service when so hard to come by.

Disappointed in the quality of the roast dinner. The roast beef was good but the potatoes dry and the accompanying veg lukewarm. The cauliflower and cheese was watery and had no cheese taste. Subpar roast overall.

We had a wonderful group lunch in the upstairs room and were looked after so well (thanks Mark you're amazing). The food was all class and we had a great time!

The Marquess bravely hosted a Xmas lunch for 44 of us in the 1st Floor dining room on 10/12 and it was absolutely superb. Food was excellent, service was friendly and fun and the roof top bar added the cherry on the cake. Massive thanks to Aidan and the team!

Only 2 bar staff for hundreds of customers! 25 minute wait to get a drink even if ordered online! Scuffy rude man served us! Expensive! Yes it’s Christmas but it’s the same time every year and busy so get more bar staff!! Will not be returning!

In October my girlfriend and I were on a tour from the US and had stopped in nearby Covent Garden. We hadn’t had fish and chips yet, so our local city guide recommended this place. The food and beer were excellent and the interior was so pretty. We sat on the second, wait no, the l first floor as they say in the UK. The waitress was really friendly. We each had the fish and chips and they were delicious

I organised my work Christmas party here last night and it could not have been more perfect, what a super cosy lovely atmosphere. We hired the room on the 1st floor for 30 of us and pre-ordered a bunch of food and drink. Liaising with the venue was super smooth from start to end. - Food was really great (especially the scotch eggs) - Wine selection was spot on - Service was 10/10 thank you to Mark and lovely lady who looked after us all evening

A large pub in a popular area, serving a large range of drinks and food in a traditional setting and with decent staff. However the real selling point and unique aspect is the roof top terrace. It’s not a large space, and popular for private events, but if you are able to get out there it’s a real sun trap with great atmosphere and it’s own bar. The prices are pretty steep but for such a unique setting worth it. A favourite spot of mine in the area for a memorable drink.

Stunning pub, get yourself upstairs to the terrace bar.

It's a pretty generic pub so nothing to write home about but had to write this review to say - WHY IS THE MUSIC SO LOUD!? It's not a bar, there's noone who is going there to dance, so why did they do that. The music was so loud that we had to shout at each other like you would at a club. I've never in my life been in this type of situation at any pub. And also not like the sound system was any good - nothing worse than trying to overcompensate for bad quality sound system by increasing the volume.
