My wife and I spontaneously stopped in for a bite to eat after a long day in London. The restaurant is much more exclusive than we expected; a full-blown dinner would have been more appropriate. The service was impeccable and the food fantastic. We'd be happy to return.
My husband and myself were in london for a theatre trip and stumbled across this place whilst looking for somewhere to eat.
From the moment we walked in the service was amazing, The whole team were attentive and couldn’t be more helpful.
Food was outstanding and reasonably priced and the drinks list was extensive (a great range of cocktails available) Will return next time we are in London
I don’t typically leave negative reviews unless I feel it’s helpful for constructive feedback. This was my first time dining here, and overall, the experience was okay.
The server was friendly and welcoming. We did have to wait a bit longer than expected for our food, but I understand it can get busy. We ordered bread with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar; however, the bread was cold and stale, making it quite difficult to chew. Perhaps that’s the intended preparation, but it didn’t meet our expectations.
On a positive note, the carbonara pasta was delicious, and the server added fresh cheese on top, which was a nice touch. I reminded our server that we had also ordered tiramisu, but unfortunately, it never arrived. After waiting 20–30 minutes for the check, we eventually went to the front to settle the bill. I mentioned the missing dessert to the gentleman at the desk, who was very apologetic and sincere. He did not charge us the dessert from our bill, which I appreciated.
While the visit had some highs and lows, I understand that restaurants can face busy periods. I hope to see improvements in service consistency should I decide to return.
Oh my goodness if I could give 10 stars I would! Went for lunch on my 60th birthday, didn’t book, just went on off the street. They couldn’t have made me feel any more special! Glass of champagne, starter and dessert all on the house! Food was some of the best we’ve ever eaten - absolutely incredible! Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be returning!

This review is a long time coming but each year I am reminded of the kindness and care shown to my wife, three young kids (ages 7-2) and my sister and one of her boys.
We arrived at the hotel on the 6th of September 2001 for 6 nights on POINTS for two rooms. We were on our way home from our European summer (wife is from Europe). We were checking out and flying home on the 12th of September.
We woke up the morning of the 11th of September and ate breakfast and got ready to take our two oldest kids to go see "The Mousetrap" up the street.
Needless to say we all know what happened. We saw the news about the two towers before we went to the play (maintenee). When we came out the newsies were hawking papers and shouting headlines of the Pentagon and other planes.
As we came back, the GM of this newly opened hotel (the bar below had not even been opened to the public) greeted me by name. Mr. Knecht, we are sad at what happened. We are offering you free phone calls home. We will work with you until you can fly home. I have looked at your Honors account and I see you have enough points for two rooms for 6 more nights. He went on to tell me he would honour the per night rate we used to book our rooms originally.
We were very grateful. As I was out doing laundry two days later, I heard other Americans and Canadians complaining about how their hotels were charging 300GBP a night for rooms since they were at a premium.
To the GM. To the Staff. To all involved who allowed me to protect my family and more. An eternal THANK YOU.
