Have been there three times, and every time the food was absolutely delicious, the service exceptional and the atmosphere wonderful! Do recommend trying their mixed olives as they marinate them themselves, and affogato for the dessert was simply divine! Loved everything, lots of thanks to the lovely staff, will certainly be coming again 😊

Top-notch Italian dining in the heart of London. First time at ‘O Ver St. James, and I was genuinely impressed. The highlight of the evening for me was the Parmigiana di Melanzane — rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The “San Marzano” tomato sauce was intensely flavourful, the smoked mozzarella added just the right depth, and the aged Parmigiano brought it all together. Every bite felt like a warm hug from a nonna in Campania. Every dish we tried was fresh and full of life, just like in Italy. Big thanks to Nicolo, Esther and Gabriel for the brilliant service — professional, friendly and really made the evening feel special. Will definitely be coming back.

Had the most gorgeous evening at O’ver St. James’s! The ambience was effortlessly chic, with the kind of warm, intimate vibe that makes you want to stay all night. The cocktails were divine ( perfectly balanced, creative but classic), and the food was genuinely exceptional, really fresh, flavourful, and beautifully plated. Truly a hidden gem I’ll be raving about for a while.

A little corner of Italy tucked away in London that’s exactly how I’d describe my evening at O’ver. I had been hearing whispers about this place for a while, but nothing quite prepared me for how magical it actually felt. The ambiance was so warm and intimate dim candlelight, subtle details, and that comforting buzz of people genuinely enjoying their food and company. It was one of those rare places where the vibe hits just right the moment you walk in. We started with the Cuoppo di Mare -lightly fried Scottish squid and Mediterranean prawns served with their O’ver lime mayo. The seafood was perfectly cooked, not too greasy, and paired so beautifully with the citrusy mayo that we found ourselves wanting more with every bite. Then came the Fiorillo di Zucca, and honestly, it stole the show. The courgette flower was delicately fried and filled with buffalo ricotta, smoked mozzarella, anchovies, black pepper, and a touch of Sorrento lemon zest. It was rich, balanced, and probably one of the most unique starters I’ve had in London. For mains, we couldn’t resist trying their sea water pizza. I went for the Piacentina ,the yellow base, the flavors, the texture of the dough ,it was next level. You can tell they care about their craft, from the ingredients they use to how everything comes together on the plate. Alongside that, we ordered the Tortelloni alla Parmigiana. Handmade pasta filled with aubergine parmigiana, cooked in the freshest tomato sauce and finished with aged Parmigiano Reggiano and basil. It was the definition of comfort food, elevated. We ended on a sweet note with their classic tiramisu and a scoop of dark chocolate gelato. The tiramisu was airy and perfectly layered, while the gelato was rich and velvety the kind that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate it. All of this was beautifully paired with a chilled glass of Chardonnay from Puglia 🍷The Rivale. Light, crisp, and just what we needed to round off the evening. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right 🍝the food, the mood, the service 🤌🏻but O’ver did. It felt like a little escape, a mini Italian holiday, right in the heart of London. I’ll absolutely be back.

Really loving finding new gems in London! ‘O ver did not disappoint at all. Great service and recommendations from staff. Lovely cocktails and authentic , tasty food. The focaccia is some of the best I’ve had and the ragu was honestly perfect, rich and flavoursome with perfectly cut tagliatelle. I really don’t usually like tiramisu but I almost ate all of our sharing portion! So light , fluffy and delicious. The venue itself is stunning and has a secret hidden room downstairs that can accommodate around 12 people, this was really a highlight for me. Will definitely be back !

The food was okay, the service was very poor, unfriendly, and not at all appealing. The atmosphere was good, but the window was constantly open and, as a result, very cold. I won't eat there again. I don't recommend it.

The pizza was perfect size for sharing - we got the Cinque Formaggi (sub the smoked mozarella for burrata) and some olives. I got a mocktail and my mom got a Peroni. Our waiter, Gabriel, was so kind and took my drink off our bill as they had forgotten to bring it in time with my mom's drink and so they made it. So yummy (Bonasera mocktail). We sat outside it was so lovely. Everyone here is friendly and accommodating! Highly highly recommend and will definitely be returning!!

Hi we went there for dinner. The place has a lovely feel to it and is well presented. We had various meals, pizza, pasta and starters, it was all great. The place was immaculate. The service was top class there was no rushing and water was delivered and poured regularly, it was all at a leisurely pace. We had cocktails, wine and soft drinks and there were all good. A place to try.

Nothing could prepare me for how good the food is here, we came for dinner, had the asparagus, tuna tartar, sea bass and pizza, and the food was stunning … and we had just come back from Rome and we found very little there to compare how good the food is here The rosemary focaccia bread for starters was devine with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Lovely restaurant! Our food was excellent (seabass), even though the portions weren’t exactly generous especially for the price (if you eat just that as the main course, you’ll leave hungry…). But the quality deserves 5 stars. Also, there’s a dessert with fruit and yogurt, so you can eat rather healthily (ok, it also had mascarpone and sweet sauce…). Our server was also nice, but another one kept filling our glasses even though they were still full to get us to order more drinks. Also, if there’s already a 15% tip for service included, we didn’t appreciate the credit card payment machine to ask us for ANOTHER tip (honestly, the service was good, but 15% is already quite generous).

What a great Place to eat! We were 8 people there. The food was great, good taste and quick service! Our waitor for the Day was the best ever!

We booked a table for our bachelor party well in advance. The message said that the reservation would only be successful if we took the menus and did not choose from the list. They also responded really poorly to emails regarding the reservation. When we arrived at the place, our reservation could not be found, but they managed to arrange a table for us anyway. None of the waiters told us anything about the menus, so we chose all the dishes from the list. Strangely, there was no problem with this on site. Due to the special event, the house offered us sparkling wines, which were served in wine glasses...but okay, the prosecco was still good. The restaurant was really hot and poorly ventilated, but otherwise the place had a really nice atmosphere. The waiters did not leave a very professional impression, but the food was overall very good. The place is not so good that I would go again.

Great Neapolitan pizza and great pasta !

This restaurant was awful. We showed up at 2:30 and there was no one there and they refused to seat us because we had little kids with us. Totally discriminatory.

Very bad customer service. We walked in for lunch, almost all tables were open INSIDE and OUTSIDE at 2:30 pm. They turned us away due to “reservations”…. We had two very hungry little kids with us, it was so disappointing.

Booked for a pre-theatre dinner and ended up coming back afterwards for cocktails. Delicious wood fired sea water dough pizzas - definitely not your typical toppings. Good choice of wines and my friend and I had post-dinner negronis and margaritas later. They really looked after us.

Absolutely average food and average service. Booked for my daughters 21st. We had visited Borough market one in February which was superb. Thought try the St James one. Not sure whether it is under a new chef or new ownership, but it was different. A big deal is made of their ingredients and using italian seawater for their breads: The focaccia was flat and brand. We had to ask for some olive oil, all dishes very simple requiring little cooking . Small Portion of pasta, pizzas ok . Not lunch meat or fish on the menu. Had to ask for black pepper. Not sure why some reviews if real, think it is the best italian food, Piccolinos for example much better, soho full of nice italian restaurants. Didn’t recognise it was daughter’s 21st , didn’t expect a fanfare but was mentioned in booking. Boring deserts , we went elsewhere. Didn’t bother with wines, didn’t feel Spending any more money on average food.

Best Pizza I’ve had in my life.

Absolutely brilliant! We booked O Ver for dinner after seeing a matinee and loved it - we will definitely go back when we’re next in London! The service was second to none, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was great too! The pizza was so good that even the crusts were amazing - my husband and I fought over his crusts! I had the ravioli which was delicious but a smaller portion than the pizza, which meant I could manage dessert too luckily! The n’duja crocche and artichoke starters were delicious, as were the lime yoghurt mousse and croccante ice cream desserts. Would 100% recommend O Ver!

Before the main we decided to get this sea food fritters "O CUOPPO' which is very popular as street food in magic Naples. To our astonishment we received three calamari ring and one prawns, totally burned and tasted they had been fried over and over. Terrible presentation and nothing to do with Naples tradition. The pizza was good The place is extremely expensive and overrated

The food is definitely overpriced. I ordered ravioli with prawns which was 5 pieces of ravioli, not big so dont get excited, for £29. The dish wasnt worth it. Overall, it was okay-ish but I won't go again.

Extremely disappointed by the pizza which was nothing exceptional, even rather bland. The portion of ravioli Genovese is simply ridiculous (paid £26.50!), we left still hungry but having paid a hefty bill!!! An extra star for the tiramisu which was very good. We do not recommend it, much too expensive for what it is.

We were a group of 6 Italians( Napolitan) living in London and we decided to try this pizzeria for first time. We were really disappointed of the quality (especially for how expensive it is) and the day after many of us had stomach problems. Margherita without basil, Salsiccia e Friarielli( only branches, no friarielli and the sausage was not fresh ) was one of the worst in my life and for not mention the Capricciosa. Really disappointed!

Oh.my.god. This place is so good! The pizza? Fire. The pasta? Delicious. The staff is really nice too! The prawn and lemon ravioli is probably some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. The pizza crust is delicious too. Ambiance is super nice and upscale. Definitely recommend.

The staff were most helpful with my group reservation. We opted for its set menu with our group size that came with starters and dessert for sharing. What I really appreciated was that each guest got to select a main course of choice that very evening. Starters truly enjoyed by all. Pizzas and pastas were amazing. Excellent service too!

The food is beautiful and delicious, the service is friendly, but the wine list and wine service needs alot of work. A number of the wines listed were not available and the first thing the waitress did was suggest a £98 Barolo to replace a £44 Langhe Nebbiolo that had run out (fortunately I was on my guard for this). Having turned this down, it soon became clear that the wine list vintages bore no resemblance to the real vintages. South Italian red can be tannic and not at it's best when young. A 2019 is not the same as a 2023! After much debate, I ended up with a decent wine, which arrived about 5 seconds before my starter. If you are going to charge £44+ for wine and add 15% service, please splash out on a wine list edit and reprint and please make sure your guests have good time to taste their wine before the starter arrives.

The food was quite good in terms of quality, with one drawback, the pasta plate was a bit small. Special mention should be made of the treatment of the hostess, which was spectacular.

Pretentious. One word could be enough to describe the entire experience. While food was good to very good, service swung from bad to awkward (at 15% service charge).

Good authentic food. Pizzas are their specialty in my opinion. A bit on the expensive side but worth it in my opinion for the service and ambience.

I want to emphasize that the service was great and it was a very nice place- but the food- so mediocre! The bruschetta was bland and forgettable- not nasty but just eh. The pizza much of the same- and a textural nightmare even by the standards of neopolitan pizza. Also overpriced for what you get. Tons of better pizza places of this kind all over London- this is one of those well it’s a bit late and I saw a show at the ICA- and this seems like a close place to get a good bite.

We settled on this charming eaterie for a pre-theatre meal and boy, we're we glad we chose this place! From the start, welcomed into a modern chic room with open kitchen showing the pizza creations, and a smart bar top with seating. The table are well proportioned and comfortable leather seating. The staff are friendly, professional and clearly care about service and the quality of the food that they provide. The wine list is excellent, we had the sicilian red, and I noted that all bar 1 of the wine offerings was Italian! We shared the Bruschetta to start, which was delightfully tasty, with fruity, sweet tomatoes. Then my partner had truffle tagliatelle whilst I had fusilo with Italian sausage. Both dishes were excellent and throughout the service was attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed (nay, loved) our meal here, and will be returning as soon as we can arrange a london break!

Overall it wasn't bad, but I can't say the food was very delicious. The truffle pasta was good, we did not like the pizzas and tiramisu. The tiramisu was particularly disappointing for us. But the service and atmosphere werr fine. Thanks!

I booked twice for this place and as an Italian I found extremely disappointing that they had a “unexpected private event” with only 2hs notice. I have trailing emails of them begging me to go have dinner in their “private dining room” (my lawyer said this was a basement ahah). Amici, wake up. See you never, my industry knows about your “resevation system” failure. Will do my best not to recommend this place to my wide network.

The place is lovely and cozy, the service was exceptional. But the food wasn’t what we expected. We ordered truffle burrata, mozzarella with aubergine, and spicy pizza with strachatella. Aubergine was the most delicious dish we had. Pizza was just ok, and burrata lacked any interesting taste. Cocktails were good.

I recently dined at O’ Ver St. James on a bustling Saturday night, and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. Despite my last-minute reservation, everyone was very welcoming and made me feel right at home. The ambiance was very relaxing , and the food was absolutely delicious. While the pizza was great as were the starters, the pasta did not live up to expectations. Would probably return if it weren’t for the customer service, which was disappointing. The lady serving us appeared annoyed all evening, didn’t check in unless called on repeatedly, almost threw the cutlery and plates on the table, and despite announcing at the beginning that they needed the table back after 1.5 hours, was incredibly slow in taking orders and responding to requests. EDIT: had to reduce to 1 star as partner ended up with symptoms of food poisoning hours after our visit.

If you like napolitan pizza, this is the place to go. Exceptionally good pizza with the perfect crust, right amount of olive oil and made from high quality ingredients. Not sure if on Top50 list this year but it is absolutely worth to visit. Ravioli were very good, interesting flavour, ragu filling super tasty and full of flavour. We also tried the focaccia with parmesan - good but reminded us a pizza dough. Overall, great place for a dinner. We had an early dinner and were done within 1 hour. Staff was attentive and food prepared very quickly.

The place is booked after 8:00 p.m., but if you get here by 6:00 you can get a table, have delicious pizza pasta, salads, and buratta with eggplant, and you will be very happy
