Heliot Steakhouse in City of London, Westminster

I went to Heliot yesterday with my wife, and we had a steak and burger with wine. Diego was our waiter, and he recommended the best steak and wine. Also, his service was fantastic. He was very kind, petient, and careful. Strongly recommend. Thanks, Diego!!

Great steak restaurant tucked away inside the Hippodrome. I’ve eaten at The Heliot Steak House many times and the food and service has always been excellent. It holds its own compared to the London’s other high quality steak restaurants and is definitely worth a visit. My two waitresses yesterday were Carolina and Natalia who were both brilliant and deserve praise. Pound for pound I’d say that Heliot represents the best value, best steak in London. Cheers.

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Heliot Steak House in Leicester Square! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. A special shoutout to Diego, who went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect. He was thoughtful, generous, and made our experience even more memorable. His attention to detail and kindness really stood out! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and we’ll definitely be returning. We highly recommend Heliot Steak House to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Five stars all the way!

This was overlooking the casino, so fun to watch everyone from above. The waygu was $100, we tried both the Japanese and the Australian ones, both were good but not as good as we had in Japan and not as good as the steak we had a block away for $60 less. So I didn’t feel it was worth the price in the end but the atmosphere made up for it.

Had the lamb and my wife had the steak. We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and the service was great. Had one issue with the steak being a little overcooked but they were very open to correcting the problem. Very nice location for a fancy dinner.

Our sommelier David recommended us an amazing Italian desert wine, and Carolina was so lovely recommending everything and treating us so well! Five stars for food service and atmosphere because they deserve nothing less. I had a Hereford steak - it's small but just enough for me. It was exactly how I wanted it, so no fuss. Probably the best I had in London so far. Service from Carolina was top notch. She came to check on me regularly but is polite and never intrusive. I've been to Heliot many times before last year but have never seen her before so she must have been a chirpy addition to the crew. I took my time with the wines and Carolina was patient enough to bring small sips for me to try before I made my decision. Had I not wanted to leave space for dessert, I would have ordered another glass. Desert - whilst Carolina suggested the raspberry cake, I went with my hunch and picked something else. And Carolina went with her heart and brought me the raspberry dessert in any case. She apologised for the mix-up and offered my original ordered dessert at no extra charge. But she was right anyway - the raspberry dessert was way better! Atmosphere is fantastic - and one of the reasons I keep going back. I usually like to perch myself at the verandah that overlooks the activities in the casino.

Genuinely the best steak meal I've ever had. Service was perfect. Beautiful wine to match. I was part of a stag do group on Saturday just gone, where many of us are chefs. Each of us had different steaks cooked at different cuissons and each one was perfect. I can't speak for my friends, (however I know they were over the moon!) But I had the Argentinian rib eye, with bearnaise, bone marrow and the incredibly luxurious millionaires mac n cheese. I cannot think of a better combination myself, food like most things is subjective however, if this combination doesn't sound appetising or to one's palate, there's plenty of other options; or let this review and my knowledge of food assure you: everything was perfect. I'll definitely come again to Heliots, and hopefully have the time (and expendable money) to have a quick bet or two. Thanks to all the chefs, kp'sand front of house staff that attended us. Not much to say when everything was perfect. We ordered Argentinian rib eyes 300g as part of their special offer that came with a glass of Malbec. The steak was cooked perfectly medium as requested and was very tasty. Nothing to fault and would return. Hidden in a casino!

Took my partner for a pre-birthday treat and had a lovely time. The wagyu was delicious as was the ceviche and octopus. They even offered a complimentary dessert for my partners birthday. David, our waiter, was amazing - very friendly and personable with excellent service.

I am a regular visitor to the Heliot and usually find it very pleasant. However after its refurbishment I attended, with a friend, an evening to celebrate their reopening and their 50% off food for this week. I normally start in the bar near the theatre and found extremely unpleasant with pounding "music" with made conversation imposible. It's almost as if they've forgotten what they are and wish to promote themselves as a nighclub. I felt I wanted to leave rather that have a nice meal it such an atmosphere. The refurbishment might have been call redecoration, apart from the seating which used to be disabled friendly having been removed, so making the seating in the heliot all required negotiation of stairs which will hamper any people with wheelchairs or Walkers. At least the drubbing my ears were subject to in the bar was lestened in the restaurant although still unnessecesry. The waiting staff now seem young and not focussed on customer service. I asked for a change to one meal to swap new potatoes to another kind of potato. I was told that was not possible, a reaction that was surprising because they served other options on their menu. The service was slap dash made me feel they must be coping with staff shortages. On the brighter side the Herefordshire filet steak was beautiful and the mushrooms and skinny fries were nicely done. We weren't in the mood for desserts even though the noise had reduce but the service remained rushed throughout. With the 50% discount the meal for two was £87.87. I may go again if they provide their surf & turf with a glass of Champagne deal including a 'win' chip, which I only seen one person win in 10 years but did, when it was part of the deal, gave you the hope of winning £50 after the meal on a roulette table. A USP not available anywhere else Ive been.

Heliotrope steak out is currently doing 50% for their reopening. I walked past and thought I'd give it a shot. I found the service quite slow. However, the lovely girl was running around by herself initially. Later, there were 3 waitresses but service got even slower.. I ordered tuna tartare, USDA ribeye, bone marrow. Tuna tartare was fine. Tasted okay, presented okay. Nothing special, definitely had better. USDA ribeye was very oily. A previous review also noted the same. I understand ribeyes are suppose to have a bit more fat content. But this just makes you feel sick. I couldn't even finish half of the steak. On a positive note, beef was cooked to what I asked for - rare Bone marrow had a few kale crisps on top which tasted nice. It would have been better if there were some bread that came with the bone marrow. I wouldn't recommend coming here.

I came here on the off chance for a pre theatre meal. The food was delicious! It’s recently re-opened and is certainly worth the visit. I had the octopus, sea bass ceviche and a trio of sliders. All highly recommended. Was also served by the lovely Sara, who was just the right level of attentive. Excellent food and wonderful staff!

I went to eat steak and the bread was the best. I ordered a salad to make it refreshing in case the steak was greasy, but the salad was greasier than the steak. The bread was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and the sauce that came with it was fresh. The steak was well-cooked, but the texture or flavor wasn't unique, and I wasn't sure which part to enjoy. It was just meat. I didn't feel any more oil flavor or added butter flavor, so I think it would taste like this if I just fried it in a frying pan at home. The order in which they were served was strange. The steak came out first and the salad came out a long time later (15-20 minutes later), so even if the salad was refreshing, it would have been meaningless as it arrived after the steak was all gone.

Had a lovely birthday lunch at the Heliot Steak House yesterday. The Argentinian ribeye steak, rosemary fries and Heliot steak sauce were all delicious. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely friendly, both in the Penny Bar and at the Heliot and it really adds to the experience. Such an impressive building and history to the place as a circus, variety hall and then theatre. Would 100% recommend the restaurant and hope to return one day for another meal.

I was surprised by how good the steak was, especially the bone marrow. The casino setting adds a touch of glamour, making the dining experience feel indulgent. A hidden gem worth trying.

Loud disco/dance music while you’re trying your eat isn’t the best dining experience. And looks like the public agree as it was less than 20% full on a Saturday night. Not to worry though, the casino pulls in many more ££££s so no need to worry about the steakhouse.

There is no better steakhouse in London! We had the most incredible meal coupled with incredible wine options and an unmatched atmosphere. Also loved the new menu, the seabass ceviche is to die for.

My Cousin visited me from Mauritius last week, took her out for a treat, we didn't have a booking but we're accomodated with by a lovely lady. We both had the Grilled Octopus which were really nice, I had the Steak, very juicy, cooked perfectly as I wanted, she had the Sea bass which she really enjoyed. Very Friendly service and great atmosphere Highly recommended

David was excellent and the whole atmosphere is exactly what you want. The steaks are incredible and so much better than you’d expect from an extension of a casino. A true steakhouse with an experience that takes you out of the tourist trap or Leicester square.

Went for dinner and got a few starters with the sharing steak platter. Dave was an amazing host and really took care of us.

Four of us had different steaks and we all felt that it was the best we had ever had. Sensational quality, absolutely delicious. For such quality I would have expected higher pricing. This dinner really made our trip. Also, all staff are super professional and efficient. Service with a smile for sure, fantastic service overall. Whether visiting the casino or not, I'll be going here for dinner again most definitely. In general the Casino is also very welcoming and very atmospheric.

Found this place upon a Google search looking for steak and so happy I did! I liked how although the restaurant is situated in hippodrome (a lot going on in there - casino, Chinese food downstairs, magic mike shows lol), the moment you’re sat down it’s quiet, luxury and overall a lovely ambience. I went with my friend but would also recommend for a date night. The lady at the entrance was lovely and walked us to our seat in which she introduced the amazing Paul, who was our server - Paul knows his menu! He shared the specials for the day, customer favourites and offered exceptional service throughout, ensuring we was cared for and/or needed anything. The little things that make eating out just that much enjoyable. Now a new member of Hippodrome (thanks Paul) and look forward to trying the brunch at Heliot’s next visit to London! My friend and I opted for the turf & surf with sides: mac n cheese, creamed spinach & fries. Not a single piece of food was left, the plates were cleaneddddd. Everything tasted so good! Yum yum yum.

I work at The Hippodrome on Magic Mike Live but rarely visit The Heliot. I've just taken my Mum there for her 80th Birthday, along with 4 other family members, as she had enjoyed a previous visit. The food was amazing, and the steak can't be beaten anywhere else. Nuria looked after us and was friendly, helpful and generally. awesome . She even brought out some cake and a candle for my Mum, without being asked by any of us. Above and beyond and much appreciated. Will be looking for any excuse to go again

A fantastic restaurant. The food was amazing, the lobster and steak was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is great, overlooking the casino floor but separate enough to not feel claustrophobic. But it was the service that was the icing on the cake. Our waiter, David, was friendly, attentive, intuitive and informative. He's really the reason for the 5 star review.

I am new to the London Area but will probably say that I have found my favorite steakhouse already; Heliot. I met with some friends here on May 4- arrived a little bit earlier and was seated at the bar. Renol and Georgi, the bartenders, were very helpful and attentive- I followed their suggestion of getting the Paloma which is a must try if you go here. As my friends arrived, we sat on a table overlooking the space and had the tasting board. All the three meat cuts were, for lack of a better word, perfect. David, our server, was very gracious and we followed his suggestions for dessert. We enjoyed the 3 we ordered but the Crispy Fillo pastry was the MVP. Overall, the food quality and food/beverage pricing was very reasonable and we really enjoyed our time. Will be back with more friends!

Amazing. Best steaks I have ever had. I also like the somewhat weird ambience when people downstairs lose all the money in gambling. The milieu is fascinating also because of its history. Plus their chimichurri sauce is perfect.

We came to run the London Marathon and the day before we usually like to have some protein for dinner since we are already served carbohydrates. We wanted a place as historic as this Hipódromo Casino, where so many renowned people once performed, then a nightclub, etc. A Spaniard, David, from the Canary Islands, attended us, very very friendly. We were lucky since he recommended us quite well. We ordered entrecôte, sirloin and many sides to share. For €3/person they bring you all the mineral water you want, so it was a good price for us. We paid £40 each since it also said that if you downloaded the app they would give you a 10% discount. We had a very very good dinner. Highly recommended place, with many rooms, parties, casino, etc. Too bad we have dinner and retreat, 42km await us

We have come to spend the weekend to run the London Marathon. We wanted to have meat for dinner to get protein and we want to highlight the good service of the waiter David. David recommended all the dishes that were very delicious.

This is a great spot for pre-show dinner. Food was delicious and a great deal. David couldn’t have been a better host helping with allergy requirements.

The food was incredible and for such a reasonable price. Considering I ordered a 300g ribeye, thin cut rosemary fries and a mixed leaf salad coming to under £50. Considering this is a steak restaurant in Central London, incredible prices. Now let's talk flavour, with a few twists of salt and pepper on the steak, it was go die for, top 5 I've had in my opinion. It was even cooked to a delicate pink, and it so easily cut under the pressure of my knife, it's a steak lover's dream. I ordered medium, which did come to more of a medium well, so if you're looking for that blush pink, maybe order a medium rare and adjust accordingly. All in all the location, situated within a multi complex of casino entertainment, male strippers for your Magic Mike viewing and the Heliot, if even two out of three are your go to, the Heliot has to be one of them.

Patricia was absolutely fantastic serving us tonight. We were here for my sisters 21st birthday and received perfect service. We were even given a little birthday plate with cake which my sister was absolutely chuffed with! Would recommend based on staff alone but food was sensational as well.
