We made a reservation the evening we ate for our anniversary meal, Sara our friend waitress was superb. She was attentive, polite and friendly. The unusual setting for a restaurant makes a great dinner setting, the steaks were perfect and full of flavour - cocktails also lovely! Would highly recommend the Heliot Steakhouse.

One of the best steaks I have had in London while in the middle of the iconic Hippodrome! We had the tomahawk steak and chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection. The music was house and garage which was hitting the spot. The server Carolina made the experience unforgettable with the kind gestures of cake and drinks. Will I be back!? It would be a crime not to!

5 of us went for dinner and those that had steak said it was the best they’ve ever had anywhere (and we all eat out a lot, worldwide!) the other dishes were delicious too. Our waiter was super sweet and efficient and we loved the ambience, which was quiet when we arrived at 7:30pm but got a little busier later on. The bring your own wine deal on a Monday is excellent value for London and added to the overall fab experience. Would highly recommend what we believe to be an underrated steak restaurant & we will definitely be returning!

I can hardly believe what we just experienced! We went to this restaurant looking forward to a lovely evening, but instead of being greeted warmly we were turned away from Primark because of our shopping bags. I have never experienced anything so unprofessional! Afterwards, the security staff recommended that we visit a “fast food” restaurant next door… It's just ridiculous that you are discriminated against based on pockets that have nothing to do with the quality of the food. The service was rude and arrogant. Who needs such nonsense? We found enough alternatives in the area that welcomed us with open arms. Never again! I can only advise everyone to avoid this restaurant if they treat their audience like this. Unacceptable!

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday night. Ibb be have to say everything was on point. Our waiter Gill was AMAZING so friendly and attentive. The steak was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Would definitely be returning in the future 😀 Also came here again for another gorgeous steak and once again we were not disappointed. We had the fillet and the Tommerhalk this time and was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is always delightful and especially around christmas time even better. Our server was Sara she was super friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable on anything you wanted to know about the menu. I will always keep coming back it’s the best place for a steak in London.

The food was fantastic! We all had different cuts of steak and our party was very happy. The Tuna Tartare was very tasty too. Special mention to Duarte who provided excellent service to us from giving great wine choices as well as telling me to bet on the number 26, which won on Roulette for me!

We have waited for steak some time, but staff was friendly and apologised for waiting. When we finally got it, it wasn’t even warm. In the end brought one dessert and forgot about my one. It’s not my first at venue, but first time I was very disappointed.

Eating in an iconic London venue is one thing but when the food is more amazing than the venue, that is sonething else. Add in the fantastic service from Carolina and the noght was one to remember! Well done Simon and team!

The service is immaculate here, every time my glass of water or wine was empty or even half full, the waitress would come around and fill it up for us. The staff are very attentive and this makes it a nicer experience. The quality of steaks are delicious and seasoned well. Very nice dining experience and I would 100% recommend this place.

It is advisable to arrive early. It could happen that they accept a reservation for 9.30pm and, even if you show up on time, be told that the kitchen is closing, which is why you can only order a few dishes from the menu.

Having come last weekend for a visit to London, we came to dine in this restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere and decoration. We enjoyed a Japanese Wagyu steak there. A delight!!!. Great steak restaurant tucked away inside the Hippodrome. I’ve eaten at The Heliot Steak House many times and the food and service has always been excellent. It holds its own compared to the London’s other high quality steak restaurants and is definitely worth a visit. My two waitresses yesterday were Carolina and Natalia who were both brilliant and deserve praise. Pound for pound I’d say that Heliot represents the best value, best steak in London. Cheers.

This was overlooking the casino, so fun to watch everyone from above. The waygu was $100, we tried both the Japanese and the Australian ones, both were good but not as good as we had in Japan and not as good as the steak we had a block away for $60 less. So I didn’t feel it was worth the price in the end but the atmosphere made up for it.

Had the lamb and my wife had the steak. We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and the service was great. Had one issue with the steak being a little overcooked but they were very open to correcting the problem. Very nice location for a fancy dinner.

Had an absolute amazing time here! Food was insane and so were the drinks, 5* service. Our sommelier David recommended us an amazing Italian desert wine, and Carolina was so lovely recommending everything and treating us so well! As an influencer one of my best ever collaborations thanks to these two :) And thanks to Renol for the drinks! Food was incredible and definitely coming back thank you to the chefs.

Five stars for food service and atmosphere because they deserve nothing less. I had a Hereford steak - it's small but just enough for me. It was exactly how I wanted it, so no fuss. Probably the best I had in London so far. Service from Carolina was top notch. She came to check on me regularly but is polite and never intrusive. I've been to Heliot many times before last year but have never seen her before so she must have been a chirpy addition to the crew. I took my time with the wines and Carolina was patient enough to bring small sips for me to try before I made my decision. Had I not wanted to leave space for dessert, I would have ordered another glass. Desert - whilst Carolina suggested the raspberry cake, I went with my hunch and picked something else. And Carolina went with her heart and brought me the raspberry dessert in any case. She apologised for the mix-up and offered my original ordered dessert at no extra charge. But she was right anyway - the raspberry dessert was way better! Atmosphere is fantastic - and one of the reasons I keep going back. I usually like to perch myself at the verandah that overlooks the activities in the casino.

Genuinely the best steak meal I've ever had. Service was perfect. Beautiful wine to match. I was part of a stag do group on Saturday just gone, where many of us are chefs. Each of us had different steaks cooked at different cuissons and each one was perfect. I can't speak for my friends, (however I know they were over the moon!) But I had the Argentinian rib eye, with bearnaise, bone marrow and the incredibly luxurious millionaires mac n cheese. I cannot think of a better combination myself, food like most things is subjective however, if this combination doesn't sound appetising or to one's palate, there's plenty of other options; or let this review and my knowledge of food assure you: everything was perfect. I'll definitely come again to Heliots, and hopefully have the time (and expendable money) to have a quick bet or two. Thanks to all the chefs, kp'sand front of house staff that attended us. Not much to say when everything was perfect. We ordered Argentinian rib eyes 300g as part of their special offer that came with a glass of Malbec. The steak was cooked perfectly medium as requested and was very tasty. Nothing to fault and would return. Hidden in a casino!

I am a regular visitor to the Heliot and usually find it very pleasant. However after its refurbishment I attended, with a friend, an evening to celebrate their reopening and their 50% off food for this week. I normally start in the bar near the theatre and found extremely unpleasant with pounding "music" with made conversation imposible. It's almost as if they've forgotten what they are and wish to promote themselves as a nighclub. I felt I wanted to leave rather that have a nice meal it such an atmosphere. The refurbishment might have been call redecoration, apart from the seating which used to be disabled friendly having been removed, so making the seating in the heliot all required negotiation of stairs which will hamper any people with wheelchairs or Walkers. At least the drubbing my ears were subject to in the bar was lestened in the restaurant although still unnessecesry. The waiting staff now seem young and not focussed on customer service. I asked for a change to one meal to swap new potatoes to another kind of potato. I was told that was not possible, a reaction that was surprising because they served other options on their menu. The service was slap dash made me feel they must be coping with staff shortages. On the brighter side the Herefordshire filet steak was beautiful and the mushrooms and skinny fries were nicely done. We weren't in the mood for desserts even though the noise had reduce but the service remained rushed throughout. With the 50% discount the meal for two was £87.87. I may go again if they provide their surf & turf with a glass of Champagne deal including a 'win' chip, which I only seen one person win in 10 years but did, when it was part of the deal, gave you the hope of winning £50 after the meal on a roulette table. A USP not available anywhere else Ive been.

I came here on the off chance for a pre theatre meal. The food was delicious! It’s recently re-opened and is certainly worth the visit. I had the octopus, sea bass ceviche and a trio of sliders. All highly recommended. Was also served by the lovely Sara, who was just the right level of attentive. Excellent food and wonderful staff!

Heliotrope steak out is currently doing 50% for their reopening. I walked past and thought I'd give it a shot. I found the service quite slow. However, the lovely girl was running around by herself initially. Later, there were 3 waitresses but service got even slower.. I ordered tuna tartare, USDA ribeye, bone marrow. Tuna tartare was fine. Tasted okay, presented okay. Nothing special, definitely had better. USDA ribeye was very oily. A previous review also noted the same. I understand ribeyes are suppose to have a bit more fat content. But this just makes you feel sick. I couldn't even finish half of the steak. On a positive note, beef was cooked to what I asked for - rare Bone marrow had a few kale crisps on top which tasted nice. It would have been better if there were some bread that came with the bone marrow. I wouldn't recommend coming here.

I went to eat steak and the bread was the best. I ordered a salad to make it refreshing in case the steak was greasy, but the salad was greasier than the steak. The bread was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and the sauce that came with it was fresh. The steak was well-cooked, but the texture or flavor wasn't unique, and I wasn't sure which part to enjoy. It was just meat. I didn't feel any more oil flavor or added butter flavor, so I think it would taste like this if I just fried it in a frying pan at home. The order in which they were served was strange. The steak came out first and the salad came out a long time later (15-20 minutes later), so even if the salad was refreshing, it would have been meaningless as it arrived after the steak was all gone.

Had a lovely birthday lunch at the Heliot Steak House yesterday. The Argentinian ribeye steak, rosemary fries and Heliot steak sauce were all delicious. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely friendly, both in the Penny Bar and at the Heliot and it really adds to the experience. Such an impressive building and history to the place as a circus, variety hall and then theatre. Would 100% recommend the restaurant and hope to return one day for another meal.

I was surprised by how good the steak was, especially the bone marrow. The casino setting adds a touch of glamour, making the dining experience feel indulgent. A hidden gem worth trying.

Loud disco/dance music while you’re trying your eat isn’t the best dining experience. And looks like the public agree as it was less than 20% full on a Saturday night. Not to worry though, the casino pulls in many more ££££s so no need to worry about the steakhouse.

There is no better steakhouse in London! We had the most incredible meal coupled with incredible wine options and an unmatched atmosphere. Also loved the new menu, the seabass ceviche is to die for.
