Excellent food !! Great atmosphere!! Ilias the manager was very helpful with everything and made us feel right at home. Friendly staff great service , highly recommended!

I tried the signature dish, and while the food wasn't bad, it didn't stand out either. It felt quite ordinary and, in my opinion, not worth the price.

Visited Köd for an early dinner. We started with the carpaccio which was light, refreshing and a great way to start our meal. We had the fillet and sirlion (Medium Rare) with a side of mash and chips. It was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were pleasant. We had the creme bruleé for dessert with raspberry sorbet - it was the perfect way to end the meal!

Came here with some overseas friends for dinner. The door to the restaurant isn’t very clear. I just walked up the stairs to the first door and the entrance looked like a storage area. When I walked through the door, I was waiting patiently to be served. The first waitress that came to me said I needed to wait at the other door, where I had to walk through the restaurant to. I went over to the other door and waited there to be served by the same waitress. Felt like the welcome was a bit rude and abrupt. Was seated and given a menu each. Asked if we wanted tap or sparkling water. We were a party of 4 and ordered a few things to share. As it was our first time, we tried a bit of everything. Garlic prawns for starter was small and felt a bit like it came out of a packet and heated up. No thought into presentation; just everything thrown onto a plate. Beef carpaccio was ok. We ordered a tomahawk steak and steak tartare to share with sides of chips, carrots and garlic mushrooms. The steak tartare was quite tasty. Nice touch with the crisps to go with it. Gave a nice crunch, different texture to the dish. The steak was cooked well and had a lovely flavour. But the sides were disappointing. The chips were not crispy and not fluffy on the inside. It felt like frozen chips bought in the supermarket and oven cooked. The carrots and mushrooms were mediocre. As I didn’t have a good welcome and the food wasn’t all that great and price was expensive, I didn’t even bother looking at the dessert. But at least the service was a little better during the meal, and as the restaurant wasn’t too busy, we could sit at the table after the meal and catch up with our friends more. We weren’t rushed out.

The food was nice, however, they didn’t have bottled water. They called filtered water “bottled water” and it stunk real bad. The service was mid, as the waiter was passive aggressive for no reason.

We came in to have dinner, on Sunday, had a great time until it came to pay our bill, as we had our bill, we prepared cash, and the waitress who came to accept our bill, told us they don’t accept cash, once we questioned this we been advised that in London no one takes cash (which is ridiculous as majority of places have options for both card and cash), and been refused until we explained that we only have cash. The waiter blamed other waiter and advised if she would have sat us down she would have advices us that no cash is accepted. Then waitress was questioning how we paid for our public transport, which I found rude and none of her concern it fact with came here with a car. The fact that restaurant has no clear signage that it doesn’t accept cash and only card payments are acceptable. The end of the dinner ruined the whole experience, and if there are limited payment options it should be explained before you sit down.

Delicious food, but bad service. We came here yesterday to celebrate the mother-in-law's 60th birthday. There were only a couple of tables occupied when we arrived, one of them being a stag do, and so the atmosphere wasn't great. Lots of noise from the stags carried through the restaurant. We were seated at our table and ordered a bottle of red wine. When the server passed me my drink I noticed that the glass hadn't been polished and had a long streak of dirty dishwasher water running down it. All of the glasses on the table were unpolished. When I asked for a clean glass, I was told that the bar staff always polish every glass and that it wasn't dirty. This absolutely was not the case. When I asked for a clean one, I was told that she would have to pour the wine into another glass because she had "already opened the bottle". No apologies or offer to get me a new glass of wine. I was made to feel like I was being unreasonable and a liar asking for a clean glass. Have never had that response to a query of that kind in other restaurants - always an apology and a fresh, clean item delivered with a smile. For my starter I had the Langoustine tortellini, which was delicious! A little cooler than I would have liked, and the plate hadn't been wiped so oil was dripping down, but the flavour was amazing. The langoustine broth was phenomenal! Highly recommended. My main was the 280g Hereford Rib Eye which I ordered rare. My wife had the same but mid-rare. Both were a little under temp, but not too bad. Again, the flavour was brilliant. Well presented with some carrot puree. Nice steak, but nothing special. For sides, I ordered the grilled hispi cabbage, truffle fries with parmesan and chimichurri sauce. The smoked chive emulsion on the cabbage just tasted like smokey mayonnaise, and too much of it for my liking, but the flavour was good. The truffle fries were amazing! Hot, fresh, well seasoned and absolutely divine! The chimichurri sauce was nice, but a bit overpriced, in my opinion. The kitchen forgot the side order of caesar salad my mother-in-law had placed, and at no point at all in entirety our stay was we asked how any of our food was. Although they were polite, the waiting staff were difficult to flag down and we had to wait a very long time to get their attention for the missing salad, and the bill. No kids menu, if you're thinking of arranging a family occasion, with little ones. I asked for the 12.5% service charge to be removed from the bill, which was done without fuss. Overall, the food is good, but the service definitely needs work. I would return if I was in the area, but wouldn't make the trip especially for it. Just a tad overpriced, in my opinion. There are other steak restaurants nearby that I have had been service and equally nice food.

Great experience at Kod today. Drew was very welcoming and friendly. Always good to have nice staff like Drew to make your experience even better. Looked after us very well and made sure we were always topped up regarding Unlimited Sunday Roast. Would definitely come back again!

Dining at this steakhouse is always a treat. The steaks are cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavour, with just the right seasoning. The atmosphere is relaxed yet sophisticated, and special mention to the staff who put in 110% excellent customer service

*May 2025 update* The bottomless Sunday roast is no longer available so keep this in mind if booking. We went there for the bottomless Sunday roast and it was amazing. When booking online I found the Sunday roast was fully booked for a good six weeks. On the day there seemed to be a few empty seats outside so you might get lucky if you walk in. The food was fantastic, the steak was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The service was also excellent. The gent looking after us made sure we never went hungry and kept being plate after plate of food out. I’ll definitely be going back in the new year with my friends as this is a fantastic place with a great location.

Good food, went for the bottomless roast it was very filling, enjoyed caesar salad,wings and chips only thing that could be better probably quality of steak but for what you pay for its acceptable. I also had a passion fruit mock-tail wasn’t a fan it just felt like was poured from a carton

Delicious food, but unfortunately a bit let down by the service experience for the All-you-can-eat Sunday roast. We finished our food, but no server came by in the last 15-20 minutes of our eating time, so we couldn’t ask for another round. When they did come by, we were told that it was past our time and we couldn’t order more. Alternatively, it would have been acceptable if we were given a ‘last call’ a bit earlier, and one more chance to order. Didn’t feel great to leave half-hungry after spending £88 for two people on what is advertised as an all you can eat meal - especially when we were eagerly awaiting the chance to order some more food for 15 minutes.

I had a private event here in the private room. There were a few hiccups in arranging the event but the venue and staff at this place was so quick to resolve any issues for us. We were able to create our own playlist which was an extra special touch and I was also granted access to the room a moment before to set up my own personal touch. Our waiter on the day , Nicky, was also fabulous. He went above and beyond his role as a waiter to ensure our evening went smoothly. I’d like to thank him specifically for being patient with our excited large group of people as well as helping me to set up after seeing how flustered I was. He also did well to manage such a large group and fulfil all our order. Everyone was happy with the evening and if it wasn’t closing time would have even stayed longer at the bar! Thank you for being so accommodating.

Great place to eat. We asked for dessert vine, which was great to... But I expect the waiter to tell me when a very small glass of desert vin cost 25 pound😡😡😡. We got four so that was 40% of the dinner cost. Not very happy.

Very welcoming staff, atmosphere on-point, decor is very well put together. Random find on Google after typing in Steak a chips & for a first timer I’m very very impressed on everything yesterday night. The starter of prawns wasn’t something to go crazy over but I’m sure for someone else they would appreciate. Ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce and steak chips & the same again but with creamy mash, caramelised onions with bacon and green beans with Parma cheese hit the spot for the other person. Cocktails moreish, I believe I got the jungle mix juice twice as one was not enough. Definitely recommend, only because I was driving I didn’t have another. Thank you to our waitress Emma I believe very polite and attentive throughout our stay. If you’re a foodie and a drinker expect the bill to be over £150, I believe I paid around £173 total including tax and service charge. The steaks alone are filling so I can’t moan too much with that price. Thank you again and we will be back😍

I visited this establishment recently, and I am thoroughly disappointed with the unprofessionalism displayed. The supervisor, wearing glasses and blonde, was rude for no apparent reason, and we were abruptly told we could not sing Happy Birthday to our friend. We were rushed out of the restaurant, and then, to add insult to injury, we were asked to pay a service charge and when declined I was giving the side eye. This place is a disgrace to customer service. If I had the option, I would give this restaurant zero stars. The staff was also blatantly racist towards us. We paid for a dessert we never received and a set menu that was never provided. This entire experience was appalling.

Feel like this is a hidden gem? In a location that’s not necessarily noticeable unless you know it’s there. Let’s just say I’ve eaten an unbelievable amount of steaks all across the world. I feel like this last night was top 3. I ordered the signature 3 course meal. Great value. So delicious. Busy enough for mid week but really should be a wait. Book in! Can’t wait to come back

This was our second visit here as a family and if you’re a steak lover, this place is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, elegant, and inviting. The service is good and staff were attentive without being intrusive. We had the unlimited Sunday roast which was absolutely phenomenal. Cooked exactly to order. Definitely a five-star experience. Can’t wait to come back.

Omg.. the food was amazing again. This is the second time I've came and I always recommend this place. Kod has great food, great service and even great atmosphere.

Fuimos por nuestro 31 aniversario y la comida era excelente. ¡Tenía el filete y mi esposo tenía el ojo de costilla y dijo la mejor cocina de carne que ha tenido! Frijoles verdes, patatas fritas y salsa de pimienta en grano también eran encantadores. Tenía la crema brûlée que también era precioso. El personal era atento y la decoración del restaurante era muy inteligente.

Excellent service & food was wonderful We had a business meeting in the basement & everything was excellent

We had a meal that could have been absolutely perfect—the food was fantastic, and the flavours were spot on. However, our experience was unfortunately disrupted by loud vacuuming in the kitchen, which was right next to our table. The noise lasted for a significant portion of our meal, and despite asking twice for the door to be closed, it was still quite distracting. It seemed like much of the staff was focused on cleaning, likely because it was a quiet Sunday evening, but it was disappointing that we were seated in the middle of it. After raising our concerns, we were offered complimentary desserts, which was appreciated, but it didn’t fully make up for the disruption. I truly believe this restaurant has great potential, but I hope they reconsider their approach to cleaning during service hours so that future guests can enjoy the dining experience to its fullest.

Just a bit of an odd experience. Was looking for an enjoyable, relaxed evening out with some good food but, although the food was fine, everything else was off. The waitress, was perfectly friendly and polite but she was so quiet and withdrawn it was as though she was being held hostage and trying to protect punters from the hostage takers. She seemed almost embarrassed to be there…I suppose we were about to find out why. Just before 9pm we were asked if we wanted any more food because the kitchen wanted to close. Just before 10pm we had the bill unceremoniously (by a different member of staff) deposited on our table and told we have 5 minutes to leave because the restaurant was closing. We were easy-going, undemanding customers who weren’t drunk or rude or anything that could have caused offence and, just to remind you, this is a restaurant a stone’s through from Liverpool St station on a Wednesday evening. The food was fine in an unremarkable way and obviously it’s the City so you pay good money for that but there are certainly better steaks elsewhere and there are undoubtedly better atmospheres.

I booked this restaurant for my husband's name day. We were seated at the edge of the room by the door, despite it being nearly empty. Our waiter asked about water before we even sat down. We'd barely looked at the menu for five minutes when our order was taken. We ordered wine, and the starter arrived almost immediately. My steak tartare main was excellent. My husband's chateaubriand, ordered medium-rare, arrived medium. He didn't send it back, as he was already halfway through when the waiter checked on us. I'd considered bringing friends for Sunday roast, but I've changed my mind.

Delicious steak lunch! Really enjoyed my visit to KoD. Thank the meat was cooked perfectly and the service was very attentive.

I ordered a medium rare Chateaubriand, but I received a medium well at best. To be fair, the waiter offered to exchange the food, but I had already eaten half of it. The rest of the food was delicious, but the whole experience was a bit rushed.

Food was unbelievably good. 10 out of 10 kind of food.. Bottomless brunch was the odd bit, as we were only able to order drinks every now and then when staff came round. Which wasn't often when eating and it wasn't really busy either. if any bottles were left they were taken away at the end of the allocated time. Probably would work better with glasses of wine/Prosecco and service more often instead of wasting bottles at the end, BUT the food was quality the drink when it came was really good. Would certainly recommend.

Had a fantastic dining experience at K.O.D. in London City! The steaks were absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked meat that exceeded our expectations. We were also pleased to find halal options available, making it a great choice for a wider audience. The service was outstanding, thanks to our waiter (an Albanian-Greek gentleman whose name I sadly forgot). He was extremely professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for quality steaks and exceptional service. KöD offers a cozy, refined atmosphere perfect for a high-end steakhouse. The Signature menu was outstanding, with tender, flavorful meat and delightful desserts. However, the complimentary dish with mayonnaise felt underwhelming—offering butter would be a better touch. Additionally, charging £2 per person for tap water was disappointing; bottled water should be the standard at this level. Despite these minor issues, KöD delivers a great dining experience and is worth visiting for its exceptional steak and ambiance.

Steak was overcooked, glasses were dirty, tomatoes on a salad had a strange flavor. For their prices quality of products was not enough. Maybe we did the wrong oder, but... the Christmas eve could be better if you are worried about booking table in places with better review earlier.

My first visit was amazing and I really enjoyed my experience. However, I was there yesterday for lunch and my steak was awful. Ordered my steak cooked medium and half of the steak was raw. I returned it and they came back with a well done steak that I didn't eat. If a steakhouse can't properly prepare a steak then they are in trouble. There are a number of good steakhouses in the area. I'll go to one of them the next time if I am hungry for a steak.

Wow, what a service! Our service (waiter) was great and super patient. The best service I had in the past weeks. Also the ambience was pretty cool. They found an idylic place in the city center of London. The busy London Pub life is just around the corner. I can only rate the starters because I had no steak but my colleagues recommended their beef/steak. My starters were super delicious, spicy (in a good way) and a beautyful sense of flavour. When you‘re in London and wanna enjoy good food to start your London Pub jouney, the KöD is highly recommended.

Who knew Danish steak and chips was a thing. I do now. A very well presented restaurant in the heart of the city of London and very very reasonable prices. Especially considering the quality of the food. The staff and service here is a commendable. Enough to restore faith in such things.
