Amazing food! Service from Sumanth made us feel really welcome! Would heartily recommend for a well priced and wonderful eat in the heart of town!

YORI looks small from the outside but there are a number of floors allowing a decent number of people inside. A queue from the neighbouring show was blocking the door when we arrived but I 'excuse me'd' my way through. We rocked up at around 7pm on a Saturday with no booking and were seated shortly after. The menu and ordering was via QR code and it worked well. We ordered soy & garlic fried chicken, kimchi pancake, soy stir fried chicken, rice, and the seafood tofu stew. All was delicious. Sagar and Su looked after us and there service was good. Sagar took the time to clarify if the rice was for the stir fry chicken and ensured they came out together. It was an all round successful trip and I would definitely visit again. This isn't fancy dining, but it is great dining.

Having never eaten Korean and wanting to try, on our recent mini break to London we decided to try York in Covent Garden. We entered the restaurant and were greeted. Having not booked a table we were accommodated and were shown a table up 2 flights of stairs. Once seated were told to scan the QR code to order. At this point we were the only people sat there. Ordering seemed fairly easy but not knowing exactly what was a starter or a side etc and what it looked like made it difficult to know what to order. We took a gamble. The food arrived quickly and all together - the food was very tasty and we quickly got stuck in. Then another young couple got seated across from us. They were given a menu (with pictures) and had a waiter come take their order… For a meal that cost us over £90 for 2 adults and a child and had service charge automatically added I do feel we didn’t get the same level of service as everyone else. Perhaps the difference was we had not booked however we were still seated at a table so I really do feel that the service should have been the same. I’m left wondering why we didn’t get a menu! When we paid and left we noticed everyone else downstairs were also ordering with menus! Over all the food was lovely - just a bit miffed about not getting a menu!

Sagar is the best server ever! He was very patient and attentive. Sea food stew was the best.

I felt treated differently. I sat down with another table of Indian customers and ordered food at the same time. But half an hour after all the Indian customers' food was served, only two of our dishes were served. I politely asked the waiter twice and he only said "definitely in five minutes". Chinese people should stay away from this place.

The kimchi pancake was really good, the rest of the food was okay but I wouldn't say I loved it. Food was very well presented and freshly cooked. We were also sat on quite a small table so we didn't have much space.

Worst kimchi Jjigae ever. I’ve been to many Korean restaurants in London, but the kimchi Jjigae at this place is unacceptable. There were only a few pieces of kimchi in the kimchi Jjigae, and just some scraps of meat. It was basically just kimchi broth and tofu. I would never pay this price for it again. I’m not sure if it’s just a problem with this particular location anyway as Korean, I was seriously upset. The worst kimchi stew;; There was only a few pieces of kimchi and only scraps of meat; I almost ate kimchi stew with tofu and soup...^^ I will never go again.

Very mid Don't get the korean fried chicken, it's not crispy, more like chicken nuggets. The kimchi pancake is good though! I've been to other Yori branches, this one is worse than the others, or the standards generally have gone down (Side note: they don't do BBQ at this branch)

I order YORI quite often and choose to order from the chain in Covent Garden (even though it's farther) because it is better than the one in Piccadilly, as the food quality and dishes are wildly inconsistent there. The food here itself is great (most of the time), but the flavors of the Kimchi Jigae and Dwenjang Jigae are very different depending on the chef that cooked the dish. The YORI here does much of a better job stewing the kimchi and tofu, making them really soft and nice to eat. This is compared to the same dish prepared in YORI in Piccadilly, where the Kimchi Jigae is hardly stewed and the kimchi is still crunchy in the soup. The biggest complaint would be the inconsistency in cooking, as we order from YORI often. The Vegetable Dwenjang Jigae was very delicious the first time we had it, and it was vegetables and tofu only (consistent with the description). The second and third time we ordered, the chef put a lot of seafood in the dish, completely changing the flavors and ruining the taste. I am not sure which chef is doing this, but we are not very fond of this practice, especially when we ordered the vegetable one. At the time of writing, the only option on Deliveroo is the "Vegetable Dwenjang Jigae", not "Seafood Dwenjang Jigae", which means that the order was made incorrectly, twice in a row.

The staff were courteous and friendly. The food were way too salty. I was thirsty the whole night even after drinking more than a litre of water.

It’s pretty good! The seafood pancake, GalBi Tang and quite good, but the fried chicken batter was a bit too much for my liking, and the egg fried rice was a tad too oily. Overall it’s still pretty good and service and atmosphere is good.

Food was excellent and piping hot, just a pause between one of our guests getting their dish. But great hearty food!

Horribly overrated and overpriced

I rarely give reviews but felt I had to as I chose this restaurant due to it having such a high rating. The food was extremely expensive for the portion and quality. The tkeobokki was really bland and minimal. The music was really loud and service was bare minimum. I would recommend many other restaurants in London.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I’ve ordered from this restaurant multiple times on both Uber Eats and Deliveroo, and on several occasions, my orders were accepted and then cancelled without any explanation — after keeping me waiting. This is not just poor service, it’s blatant disrespect for customers’ time. If you have no intention of fulfilling orders, you should shut down your online ordering completely. Stop misleading customers and wasting their time. This kind of behavior is disgraceful and completely unprofessional.

The seafood pajeon was easily one of the best I’ve had— tender, with bold, memorable flavor. The beef bulgogi was delicious, and the spicy sweet chili fried chicken was a standout: not overly spicy, but packed with rich, flavorful sauce. We also tried the tteokbokki, which was just as tasty. The dishes were perfect for 2 people and I left very satisfied!

Visited here in 2022 when they still had grills on the tables and had a lovely time. Visited again yesterday and the food has substantially gone down in quality. Ordered a fried chicken platter and the chicken was terribly dry, it tasted quite old and the seasoning was just awful. I sincerely thought about sending back the dish, but that specific platter costs about 22 quid so I decided to suck it up and finish it. Wish I hadn't. There are better Korean restaurants out there with much better fried chicken and service and I will certainly never come back to Yori.

My child ordered cheese ramen, but he was all bloated and bursting out, so I tried to ask him to do it again... I just told him to eat it because he ate it... This was my second visit, and the ramen is not recommended. I guess the locals are invited...?

I’m a regular fan of YORI and often recommend it to friends. I’ve had great experiences at both the Piccadilly and King’s Cross branches—both consistently serve quality food and maintain high standards. Unfortunately, my visit to the Covent Garden branch was very disappointing. The environment was not up to par—the handrail by the stairs was extremely oily and gave a poor first impression. The food itself was below the usual YORI standard; I’m sorry to say it felt more like something from a Camden Lock market stall than a proper Korean BBQ restaurant. That said, the floor service was very good—the staff were attentive and polite, which I appreciated. Really hope the Covent Garden branch steps up its game to match the standards of the others.

I don’t know why this place has so many stars. Atmosphere is close to none, the food is good-alright but definitely not worth the price point. Service staff are running around and trying to be attentive and helpful but maybe they need more staff? Servers were helpful and sweet. For a bill that came to £35 each, I would prefer to eat somewhere a bit more promising. I paid £3.20 for added lettuce? I don’t know why that was something special that I needed to have as an add-on. I’ll try somewhere else next time.

Great place! The food was really good and the waitress gave us good recommendations. The reservation was not easy to make though. Depending on which website the abilities shown are not the same.

I was traveling in Europe and really wanted to eat Korean food, so I stopped by while riding the London Eye. I went without a reservation, but luckily there was a table available so I went in. There is a QR code on the desk, just scan it and place your order. You have to pay for both water and kimchi to order. I ordered kimchi stew, beef jerky, stir-fried pork bulgogi, kimchi, and tera. First of all, it was nice to eat rice after a long time. Compared to Korea, kimchi stew lacks the spicy taste and is very sweet. Yukgaejang tasted like a mixture of Yukgaejang and soft tofu stew. The stir-fried pork bulgogi was a stir-fried pork that tasted like charcoal bulgogi and was very delicious. The first taste of kimchi was unusual because it had a slight mustard kimchi flavor, but after eating a few more, I quickly got used to it and it was crunchy and delicious. What was disappointing was that I wanted to eat kimbap, but there was no kimbap menu. Still, I feel like I can live by eating Korean food, even if it is localized Korean food. While traveling in Europe, I often feel like I am Korean. Terra was smooth to swallow. The staff were also friendly.

Had a really lovely dinner with my friends here. Real Korean flavour. Our waiter Rakkt was nice too! It's a real Korean restaurant and everything is really delicious. I will go again when I come to London again!

Delicious Korean food. Prices in the UK, which were originally high, have risen even more recently, making the once expensive Korean food prices seem to be at a normal level. I visited several times during my one week trip. Dolsotbap, pork belly, and bulgogi are all okay. The kimchi stew was okay, but it felt like bibigo. The side dishes were also very delicious. It will suit Korean tastes well!

Sumanth was fantastic! The food was amazing (I got two whole meals, it was so good), and the atmosphere was perfect.

We booked our vacation 1 year in advanced and we couldn’t wait to eat here. We told our kids how great the food was here and they were looking forward to it since it was their first time in the UK. They are picky eaters and they loved the food. Our waitress Shreya was great and attentive. It’s rare since we know the culture is different from USA. Overall great place. Will recommend and will come back again.

The worst Korean food of my life. The food had no taste, the service was dismal, the hygiene of the toilets was catastrophic. I had noodles it was tasteless. You might as well eat fish and chips, you get what you pay for and you enjoy it. In short, you will have understood that this restaurant is TO BE AVOID.

Rarely have I seen such a bad Korean restaurant, I ate a chicken that was as ordinary as a pigeon in the street. Kfc is 100x better. In short, I strongly advise against this thing.

Incredible food cooked to perfection served in a surprisingly timely manner, wings are amazing but definitely need more than one dip (just one for 12 wings is not enough) and the rice bowls are absolutely incredible. I was so happy I got to try authentic Tteokbokki which was my favourite dish. Preethi provided amazing service and it was easy to ask for a doggy bag and takeaway boxes were provided. Will definitely be marking this spot and return with a friend or two

Quite disappointed. I came here because of the stars, but it was not what I expected. I have to blame it all on me, maybe what I ordered was not one of the good options (I ordered the spicy soup with seafood). I don't like it when I spend more than 20 pounds in a meal I didn't really like. Maybe a different dish next time.

While I enjoyed the flavors, I find myself preferring other spots like Kintan and Gogi for their overall experience and flavours! :)

As a person who looks for authentic but have a sister with allergies I would say this is one of the best places to mix these two together. Lovely atmosphere with kpop playing, quite good prices and portions too! I had the cheese ramyeon and still think about it nearly a week later but was not a fan of the kimchi jeon. The Service was of course impeccable!

The food is bland, overpriced for what you received. you order via your phone and yet there is still a 10% service charge added by default.
