Tuttons Brasserie in City of London, Westminster

A lovely restaurant in an area where you might expect to only find an average tourist experience. Dana our server found us nice corner place for lunch, clearly going through the gluten free options for my wife. I had a caesar salad with chicken, and my wife the beetroot salad, with fries and new potatoes. Both salads were well made with good quality ingredients and very tasty. A very pleasant lunch!

Dana was an amazing waitress. Thank you very much :)

Quite ridiculous I’ve tried to call and cancel the reservation that we had for 530 this afternoon as I am now delayed heavily because of train stoppages and cancellations. I have tried to contact restaurant but there is no human there on the phone cut off there isn’t even an ability to leave a message so take this as my cancellation for the evening, but I think your service in terms of bookings and cancellations is pretty poor.

Food was pretty tasty and good value on pre-theatre menu. Service was quick and courteous. I would go back.

We booked a table for new years eve , had a 3 course meal, starters main and desert all were great, service was ferndly and on point.

Saturday 28th December we had 13 adults and a child booked for a set menu in the Vault at Tuttons. It was our family Christmas get-together and we had a great time. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful - catering for a 6 year old requesting baked beans, to older adults offering to sing to them! The food was tasty, hot when served and we enjoyed the wine. The acoustics were really helpful for those wearing hearing aids! Everyone said how much they enjoyed it and would come again. It was considered very good value for money for a 3 course meal in London. We maybe would order some vegetable side dishes next time, but this was an afterthought and did not detract from our enjoyment of the food. Tia was our main waitress and we thought she was great.

We went on a busy lunchtime on the 29th December. It was packed everywhere. Pascal, the French waiter, kindly squeezed us in. We went for a goats cheese salad and a halloumi salad. They were delicious and plentiful. Pascal persuaded us to have a bottle of house red wine rather than two large glasses as it worked out cheaper. We can blame him for getting us merry! Perfect pit stop before going to the Courtauld Gallery.

We visited 30/12/24 The staff morale was absolutely disgusting right from the beginning of our visit and lasted throughout. As myself and my husband was greeted the waitress almost rolled her eyes at myself and my partner when I asked for us to be seated. She looked like she couldn’t be bothered to do her job. We were told to wait at the bar. While ordering drinks my husband asked the bar man if they took cash he looked my husband up and down giving him a dirty look and said no, this made us feel uncomfortable. After being seated at the table we felt like we were shoved in the corner sitting next to each other and not even facing opposite each other we booked for our anniversary meal! The waitress took our order for the menu and we felt rushed , when the meal came it was almost slammed on our table! The whole evening felt uncomfortable , as staff were passing myself and my husband dirty looks throughout the evening! I then got up to find the bathroom and asked the bar man he used a rude tone of voice looking me up and down and told me where to go. At the end of the evening I complained to a waitress and I felt like she didn’t take it seriously she told me “ don’t take no shit” and walked off. The food wasn’t even to a high standard I’ve had a better salmon at Wetherspoons !!

So disappointed with how this place has declined. Went today after having spent two very memorable and special evenings there around 15 and 10 years ago. It used to be a really lovely and special place with top notch food, service and cocktails, reminiscent of a good French bistro. Took the family today and honestly I would say it was on par with a Harvester. The service was ok and the waitress really nice but they were not overly attentive and drinks took a long time. Ordered a beef burger and then got told 10 mins later they didn’t have any beef burgers. This was at 1pm so hardly late in the day to run out. The food that did arrive was so so average that even the fries which were overcooked and Caesar salad was not as good as I’d make at home. Chicken burger just bland and tasteless. Kids meals would be better in Harvester. Seems it’s like any other tourist spot - very very average, nothing special. Such a shame as it used to be very lovely.

Had a wonderful experience at Tuttons, server Dana took really good care of us, lovely atmosphere and overall great experience.

Went to Tuttons for dinner for my adult son's birthday on 27/12/2024 with my husband and adult daughter, so 4 of us. Staff made us feel very welcome and service was very good. The reason for only 3 stars is that although we had an early table at 5.45pm we were informed there was no fillet steak left. I usually order a fish dish but this this was a big disappiontment for my other 3 guests who love a fillet steak. My son then chose a rib eye steak instead, and my daughter and husband chose the sirloin. The waitress (Who was lovely) then returned and said there was only one sirloin steak left! So my husband had the chicken. I know its a bit of a first world problem but a bit disappointing none the less. Our food was very nice and we enjoyed the evening.

Great food but quite bad service which lines up with quite a few of these other reviews. My pint came out after my entree and i had one mouthful left as my mains came out. Not once did the waitress (old duckling) come over to check on my meal or offer table water or additional cutlery (one set shared between mains and entree). I was never offered an additional drink either despite pushing the empty pint glass to the edge of the table and trying to make eye contact with the waiter who was standing stationary. The table next to the me were in the same boat i could hear them cussing the staff (they were Italian and i can understand a little bit of it)

Il a pris le temps de parler avec nous, de nous partager sa bonne humeur, ne nous a pas poussé à la consommation . Breakfast at xmas. Over £50 for breakfast for 2 scrambled eggs and salmon on toast came deconstructed and consisted of 1 slice of bread for about £12. Quite expensive enough

Looking for a British Christmas Dinner we six stranded at Tuttons with a four course menu. A delicious food an a special service we, especially our kids loved much. We do not regret this booking a can particularly commend the Tuttons.

We popped in for a drink 23rd Dec with our disabled son and our 5 year old daughter and Pascal made us so welcome ! We really appreciated his friendliness . It made our visit a special occasion .

On Saturday a group of friends and I came together to enjoy a Christmas dinner and each other's company. Unfortunately our meal was not acceptable for a number of reasons - the liver pate for starters was tasteless/ dry, the celeriac soup was tepid. Our main meal consisted of squishy parsnips, unpeeled, hard carrots, over boiled and under roasted potatoes, Brussel sprouts hard and raw, turkey over salted and of a strange texture, pigs in blankets again salty, the sausage and bacon under cooked. The dessert of Christmas pudding consisted of an outer layer of rubber and a center of crumbling texture. This awful meal was served by staff in puffer jackets . Main reason I booked this was previous reviews in earlier months had enjoyed their visit, obviously weekend 14th December was dreadful as there are many negative reviews for this day. Have emailed still waiting a response……won’t hold my breath

Very poor service - we waited an hour for our main course. Food was very average - sirloin steak at £30+ was served without even the smallest garnish on the plate.

Tonight we came in for Christmas girlie drinks in the bar area. We were served by Goram, Mo, Ash, and Orio, they were incredibly attentive always ensuring our drinks were topped up and we were happy, they even customised a drink for us based on our request. Amazing customer service, amazing drinks, amazing bartenders. Thank you!

Had our work Xmas party in the private dining vaults which was a great location. They were very busy but the staff were friendly and service was good. Food wasn’t the best but good enough.

I am shocked that such an ornate resturant in Covent Garden had such mediocre service and terrible food. I went with a group on 2 occasions, and both times the food was bland, poorly presented and tasted terrible. An embarrassment for tourists is London. The only thing reasonable was the hot chocolate.

Terrible experience. Booked a table ages ago then when we arrived they put us right by the door which was really draughty every time it was opened. There was a table free by the window and when we asked if we could move there they said it was reserved for someone else. We left without eating as it wouldn't have been a pleasurable experience. Needless to say we won't be going again and it ruined our evening

We booked a vault room for our Christmas get together, 16 people. The booking process was easy and people were able to book their own meals online. The vault room was ideal for us and set out beautifully. We had Hayley and Tia hosting us. They were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, they made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious and no complaints from anyone. I would absolutely come here again. Thanks for a great evening

Worst place in Covent Garden. We were standing in queue, everything was so messy and the waiter expected us to deal with that. The manager comes out and yells, go find somewhere else in a really disrespectful way. This was only during the queue so i wonder how much worse it could’ve gotten from there.

Our party of eleven, complete with flashing bow ties met up for our annual Christmas lunch at Tuttons. The Christmas menu was fine and reasonably priced for central London. What made the meal even better was Dana, who served our table with efficiency and equally importantly a sense of humour, so thank you. The Warren Club

Tourist trap for sure. Food didn't have flavor it was bland. The service was horrible also. Took forwver just to get water. They don't take cash. Ambiance is for tourists.

Sarvesh looked after our party of 10 in the vault. He's such a friendly guy with a good few anecdotes to share; really did a great job and we had a great evening thanks to Sarvesh. Would highly recommend the food, the atmosphere and the team here. Will return!! Highly recommended x

Not surprised about the reviews! I don't understand how some employees still working there, this is the main reason why people will not come back. Extremely slow service and rude attitude. If you don't want to work but rather to talk, stay at home. It's a shame because they have good staff too. Won't come back for sure. Food was good tho

Comfortable setting, nice waitress, Dana but slow service in an empty restaurant. Not asked about allergies and my meal arrived with sauce not mentioned on the menu. Coffee too strong. Lovely meal but glad we weren’t time limited. I asked about a disabled toilet as I have poor mobility, Dans said there wasn’t one so I struggled with the stairs. As we were leaving a gentleman showed another lady to the disabled toilet. Very disappointing. Service charge added which as more than I would of paid.

This place is really nice, especially bartender Goran; he makes the best drinks ever!

Perpetual's service was absolutely great. Kind and friendly, however the service of the woman in charge of the restaurant was terrible. He argued with at least two tables and with some of his waiters in front of everyone.

**Appallingly Rude and Dismissive Service at Tutton’s – Avoid at All Costs** As a Covent Garden resident who has dined at countless restaurants in the area, I can honestly say that I have never experienced service as terrible as I did at Tutton’s. My relative and I walked in with every intention of enjoying a nice dinner, but the experience quickly turned into one of the worst I’ve ever had in any restaurant. When we requested a table, we were immediately told by a blonde waitress with blue eyes working on Thursday night as well as her male colleague that the only option was a tiny, cold table near the door. Despite there being multiple empty tables in the restaurant, she flatly refused to seat us anywhere else, insisting those tables were "booked." The way she delivered this information was shockingly rude—she barely looked at us, kept glancing down at the floor, and had a passive-aggressive tone that made us feel unwelcome and bothersome. She didn’t even attempt to check if any of the other tables were genuinely reserved, saying they “might” be booked. There was no care, no professionalism, and certainly no attempt to accommodate us, which I found completely unacceptable given the abundance of nearby options with stellar service. This wasn’t just disappointing—it was outright infuriating. The waitress's dismissive attitude and unwillingness to offer any solution left us feeling undervalued and uncomfortable. I have dined at countless establishments in Covent Garden, and even in peak times, I have never encountered service this condescending and unhelpful. It was clear that Tutton’s staff couldn’t care less about their customers' experiences, and that kind of attitude is appalling. I would advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere, as there are far too many amazing restaurants nearby that know how to treat customers with respect and courtesy—qualities Tutton’s lacks entirely. Avoid this place if you want to be treated with even a shred of hospitality. I would recommend The Ivy which is metres away from Tuttons where the service quality is incomparable with this restaurant.

Excellent location, sadly it appeared there's a staff staff shortage, but two ladies who although rushed coped with the pressure and were delightfully. Food was good

A great restaurant located in Coventry Gardens. The food was delicious and the service was fast, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect. The Beer Battered Fish and Chips were incredible! The only issue I had was with the Root Vegetable Crisps. The top of the cup had nice, big chips. (See my pic.) As you ate them, it seemed like someone “smooshed” them. The crisps were tiny. They were still good to eat, but bigger crisps would have been nicer. Other than that, I would highly recommend Tuttons in Covent Gardens!

The staff was very rude, especially the Indian guy. From the moment we entered he did not like us and wanted us to leave by saying there is no drink service there is only dining. This was very strange because almost all the customers were just drinking tea and coffee. Very bad. Never coming again…

It’s my 5th time since the summer and the food is always exceptional. I’ve been served by Dana a 2nd time since the summer and she makes me feel like this is home. I hope Tutton’s understands the value of her incredible service and I hope customers can share the experience.

Traditional place, even though it was very busy the staff found us a table. Dinner was excellent, as well as the server Dana who did it all with a smile!

Dana was a great server, so polite and made us feel very welcome :) The food was lovely, the risotto was a bit bland, but the rest was nicely seasoned.

Jade was fantastic!! We had a large party of about 20 people and Jade took care of us fantastically! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was classic, and the drinks were perfect. She had no problem remembering all of our drink orders, even with 20 people having multiple conversations at the same time.

Had a Vault room booked. Great service (from Jade specifically) and nice food. Good old fashioned

The food at this restaurant was disappointing. The risotto was dull and lacked any real flavor, especially considering the high price. The space itself was roomy and located in a great area, but unfortunately, the quality of the food didn’t match the setting.

Jade has taken fantastic care of us. He has made us feel at home. We recommend the place, the food, the atmosphere and the service. Jade is great ;)

Absolutely terrible service with a very aggressive and rude manager. We had to repeatedly ask just to have our order taken or to get glasses for the bottle of water. The cherry on top was the manager’s passive-aggressive attitude. When I simply asked if he worked there so I could place an order (as no one had come to take it after 15 minutes of sitting), he very rudely responded, “What do you mean? I am the managerrr! Go sit down; someone will take your order.” When paying, I mentioned to the manager that their service was very poor, and he replace in a dismissive tone, “Yeah, yeah, bye-bye!” An absolute disgrace!

Had brunch served by the wonderful Lily and her great Geordie Hospitality. My black Americano was the best I've tasted in London and the Bacon, Egg Sourdough toast was cooked exactly to my taste, thank you, I'll be back.

We were all so well looked after by the brilliant staff here. Really good coffee too. Pascal was especially helpful.

The overall look of the place is great and atmosphere nice in general, but the quality of the sound system lets it down. We were seated right next to the till, and possibly this shouldn’t even be a standard option. The steak and peppercorn sauce was good but would have been better with chunky chips rather than thin crispy fries, and I should have asked for a side salad or something to accompany it.

Very arrogant and racist mind set. They hate you if you didnt come to spend GBP’s they dream. While all the Covent Garden venues are packed, tbey are empty: guess why? Because their purpose is not to serve or behave but to steal as much as they can.. The barmen tried to cheat while serving gin, he washed the cocktail set and immediately poured the sprit There are plenty of nice places, dont get trapped there.

It was the first time I have been since 2021. We sat at an outside table with overhead heaters. Waitresses took our orders very quickly. The only slight delay was with my glass of wine. The tables outside are far enough apart that you don’t overhear conversations. The scallops were delicious, as was the salmon. I had a cheeseboard to finish and that was excellent as well. The added extra is the atmosphere in Covent Garden when sitting outside.

Good food at a reasonable price, great location. Our waitress Aleus (short hair, dyed pink) was exceptional and provided 5 star service. She is an asset to the restaurant.

Not a great experience. Went in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Place was quiet and looked lovely inside. Tables nicely spaced with plush seating. Our welcome wasn’t overly friendly but also not rude. Good choice of food on the menu. However when we came to order they had no decaf coffee or decaf tea, claiming the order hadn’t arrived. Our group of 4 ordered 2 full breakfasts, 1 pancakes with maple syrup and berries and a bacon sandwich on white bloomer bread. The breakfasts were ok although the beans were lukewarm, The pancakes were tiny and fruit virtually non existent. Equivalent of 1 strawberry sliced up and half a dozen blueberries. The bacon sandwich consisted of cheap, thinly sliced white bread and what looked liked one rasher of bacon. The bread has also been toasted. When mentioned a sandwich had been ordered the response was along the lines of “well, what do you want to do? Do you want some butter?” Settled with the option before me and asked for sauce which came. Didn’t really improve the dryness though. All in all very disappointing. Feel they survive on the location of the restaurant rather than the quality of the dishes served. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

Great food, lovely place to sit in the sunshine.

I booked one of the private rooms for 16 people on my 30th birthday. Needless to say, the team at Tuttons made this a very easy process for me. What was surprising was no fees or minimum spend for the room. Simply a deposit per head! Quite unusual for this sort of thing in London. The food was fine, but the standout was Alex who was our dedicated team member that evening. She was friendly, professional (absolutely on top of everything) and very good humoured. We thoroughly appreciated her! The only drawback was I had been told previously that I could plug my phone in to play music (you can just about hear the buzz that is in the main restaurant but not really) and on the day this wasn't allowed due to a booking in the room next door as they were qpparently likely to complain. Thanks to the whole team at Tuttons and special shout out to Alex!

Worst " Sunday roast" I can remember. A slab of pork fat with a tiny infinitesimal layer of meat, on a mound of sour cabbage which was about a third of the whole meal. Bready lump of stale Yorkshire pud, and a teaspoon of gravy. Accompanied by one roast potato ( highlight of an otherwise disgraceful assemblage), with a few tiny carrots and some peas ( which were ok). The above disgrace took 40 minutes to arrive, and most of it remained on the plate. If you like food, go somewhere else.

Wouldn’t recommend this if you want a nice time. The staff are beyond rude and act like it’s life ending just by asking standard questions. After being made to feel so uncomfortable we left.

Great service with personality. Dana was real fun and made it a very enjoyable experience. I only rated the food 3 because the camembert was not properly melted it need longer in the oven.

Great Evening we had Yesterday. a group of 12 in private dining it was great and we were not the easiest of guests 😔! We arrived late, called to say it and they accommodate us We wanted a certain layout, and they accommodate us Some of us had a last minute change on the menu and they accommodate us. The food was good, punctual and service was excellent. Thanks to Molly for her help during reservation and thanks to Sarvesh for his great customer service.

Served quickly and efficiently. Dana in particular, was an absolute delight. But all staff friendly and helpful. Food was fresh and well priced. Would recommend. We are outside but the interior restaurant was very plush and well decorated.
