The Jugged Hare in City of London, Westminster

One of the best pubs in the Pimlico Victoria area. It has a mezzanine level and beer garden with a very pleasant dining area at the back. The staff are friendly and attentive, the menu offers some terrific food and snacks with an amazing Sunday roast. Prices are slightly below average for the Victoria/Pimlico area which is always appreciated. A wide range of Beers, wines and ales available, with 241 cocktails on Saturday from 5 to 9 and few TVs showing sporting events. Close to Victoria station. Currently under new management.

The Jugged Hare is the only pub where I have been asked to add a tip by the barman when paying by card. I ordered drinks at the bar , and took drinks back to my table. I then cleared the empty glasses from my table , and took them back to the bar , as the bar staff could not be bothered. My table needed cleaning . Some service. My tip to tourists. Do not tip in British pubs unless you get full table service ( not in this pub ), and service with a smile ( not here ), and unless your table has been cleared and cleaned ( not here ). In British pubs , you order at the bar , and pay at the bar . The Jugged Hare is a tourist trap . Used to be a good pub. Fullers pub , big chain of pubs . Has a beer garden. Has tables upstairs.

Great pub not too far from Victoria station and Theatre's. It's a nice pub to relax in and has a 4 TV screens to watch sporting events. It's nice and cosy in the winter. They have a good selection of beers, cocktails, spirits and wine. The staff are lovely so friendly and welcoming and the food is great here too. The Sunday roast here is amazing and well worth they money. They also have a beer garden if you want to sit outside. It is also a dog friendly pub. I accidentally left my rucksack behind and the staff were very kind to keep it safe for me to collect the following day. Nothing was missing. There is now a new manager in the pub who is very attentive and friendly.

Fish and chips were great. Hamburger was overpriced and not noteworthy in any way. 18 pounds for a standard burger is pricey anywhere. Staff was not well versed in the beers They had on tap. Overall nice but overpriced for what you get.

The Jugged Hare staff and food are so good we ate dinner there twice in one week. The Steak and Ale pie were the best we had in London. The second visit we tried chicken pie and the sausages mains. Also the crispy squid starter is yummy! Jason is an amazing server: friendly, helpful and fast! The dining areas are cozy and well decorated. We can’t wait to return.

A family member moved into the area recently & this is their local. We visited for the third time last night (Sunday) & enjoyed eating here for the second time. We had the burger, buffalo wings & a couple of pints of Fullers Red Fox - a fantastic pint which neither of us had heard of before. We were well looked after by Jason & Hugo, both being very welcoming, friendly & helpful. A nice pub & atmosphere, along with & good choice of beers & good food. Thank you!

Cosy atmosphere in the pub Friday night. Ordered the chicken pie, which was filling and lovely. Also the calamari, which was really light and not greasy.. Pub got busy later and the music was great too!

From our offices in Victoria the Jugged Hare was chosen as viable location for the departmental dinner/drinks catch up. The pub was clean and spacious, food was excellent, the drinks well served, and with impeccable friendly service. The Beer garden door could have been closed as it was a bit cold that evening being the only negative. A great evening. Currently under newish management.

Bar staff are really friendly, and the atmosphere is very cosy. Great place to socialise with friends.

Of all the pubs I have been so far, I think it's the one with the best vibes. It's pretty beautiful, well lit and it does not have loud music so we can comfortably talk.

I’ve been a regular at this pub for the past few months and it never disappoints! The place is spacious, cozy, and just a short walk from the station, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Whether it’s buzzing with energy or a bit more relaxed the vibe is always on point and you can’t help but feel at home. Jason really sets the place apart. He’s not only great at what he does but always takes the time to chat and make every visit special. It’s a rare and refreshing touch nowadays. If you’re around the Victoria area this pub is a MUST VISIT!

Visited The Jugged Hare for traditional fish&chips yesterday. Food was surprisingly amazing! Special reward for Hugo and Joe who save my life right after found a charger for my phone and brought a glass of Guinness.

Don't tell anyone but this could be my new favourite London pub!🤫 Fab drinks service so much I returned for a Sunday lunch. Folks this was one of the best I have had recently. Thanks to Jason behind the bar making this a great experience 👍🏼 🙌🏼 Oh and they have a great extensive menu and fab selection of beers on draught. Plus a sundrenched beer garden. What a wonderful team here. A friend and I met here yesterday after almost a year of not seeing each other. I coached up from Bristol and my friend traveled across town. We ate lunch and had a few drinks - the time passed so quickly. The day was already great however the staff here really made it a day to remember. Both Hugo and FIA were so friendly, warm and welcoming, it made our whole experience quite exceptional. From the casual check ups, light conversation and attentiveness, these two people delivered a level of service that can’t be taught. Keep it up you guys and Fullers, you have st least two superstars here - as well as the perfectly kept and served London Pride. You certainly should have pride in these two. See you again!

This establishment never fails to impress me.. Outstanding atmosphere, the staff are second to none...and its always a pleasure to pop in and catch up with locals and staff. I need to mention that the governor Eleanor and Jason are absolutely brilliant. I cannot fault the attention to detail, they are absolute legends, and an absolutely key to this pubs success..well done both for looking after me...fullers should be proud they have staff that make the brewery proud...well done👏

Great authentic English pub near victoria with a great selection of fullers beers . The esb is particularly great 👍. The sausage and mash was excellent, the onion gravy was really tasty . Sometimes it can be wishy washy but this was hearty . Decent quality sausages too . Nice bar staff and interesting surroundings which I'm sure the Instagrammers will like . They only have two pies on offer steak and chicken ill probably try them next time

Nowadays you can often find faint remnants that a building was once a pub, but it’s always nice to see when the conversion goes the other way. Positioned halfway between Pimlico & Victorian Tube stations you will find the @juggedharesw1 . As mentioned, this former bank turned pub was converted back in 1996 and what a beautiful place this is. The pub has an imposing Portland Stone facade with four columns and two metre high windows. Inside the grandeur continues with beautiful paintings, a massive ornate chandelier, stunning woodwork and who doesn’t like a red pub carpet. The service here was great too, really friendly and the manager took time to make sure my son and I were being looked after. Ok, the beer price was over the six quid mark but would happily pay that again. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, the pub wasn’t too busy at that time. . I must admit, I was in awe of how impressive this @fullers boozer is. I have been to a few bank to pub conversions and I must say that this Victoria pub made an impression on me, what an excellent pub. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 28/05/21 .

For a Saturday night, the pub was pretty quiet so the atmosphere was lacking. They were playing some good music, and it was nice to see London Porter on draught.

The jugged hare was recommended to us by our hotel so we came in for dinner. Lovely old fashioned interior with an upstairs gallery. The corporal jones sausage and mash was very good. Staff were pleasant and helpful enough.

Definitely 5 star for service and atmosphere. We didn't get any food just snacks but the good looked good.

Pub is not too far from Victoria station on Vauxhall Bridge Road which was ideal for us to get train home. We saw that they do a Sunday roast so decided to pay it a visit before catching train home. Food was delicious and staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely pay it another visit when in the area

I ate with a group of friends here on a Saturday evening. The pub wasn’t busy and they gave us a table upstairs which suited us well. Our table was next to a much bigger one which was still covered with debris, dirty plates and a dirty tablecloth from a previous group. This wasn’t cleaned away for the whole time we were there, and our table was sticky all over. I ordered a vegetarian main course of Roasted Butternut Squash with lentils and broccoli for £15.50 (On the menu the Roasted Butternut Squash was in bold font so I expected it to be the main feature of the dish). What arrived was a plate filled largely with lentils, half with broccoli and I counted 12 tiny cubes of butternut. It was ridiculous, and up against pies and burgers with mash, definitely not worth the price. I complained and the kitchen added more butternut, but there was no apology that I had to the best my food alone because it had come out after everyone else’s anyway, and then been further delayed by the ridiculous proportions of the dish.

Pub and ambience was nice however the food was very disappointing! Both starters we had were very underwhelming and the rarebit just embarrassingly poor. Main courses were average … unfortunately won’t be returning . Staff very nice though!

Two days after Christmas, we were expecting the place to be rammed, but it was very quiet - which we loved! The service was excellent with very friendly staff, the chips were really good, too. A couple of people had recommended The Jugged Hare as a place to get a really good pie - that's why we went there. So, we were generally disappointed with both the chicken pie and the steak, ale and mushroom pie. They were both tasty and edible, but, in all, just above average. We wanted a little more meat, perhaps in chunks and a little less gooey filling - a little jug of gravy on the side would be nice. Not bad value, for London - I think maybe our expectations were too high and, if we visit again, maybe our perceptions will be more positive.

Stumbled across this lovely pub on a girls night out. It’s an old bank building - stunning - and very christmassy. Couple of big screens. Unfortunately no music. Brilliant service from Kane behind the bar, he let me taste all the wine before buying a bottle. He was very tolerant of us lol and always with a smile. Food - pie and mash which was delicious. Will definitely go back, great night out thank you!

A pretty standard pub near Victoria station. Drinks and food were fine. Nothing special or extraordinary. I'm giving it 3 stars as the service was really bad. There was a guy who was serving us and he was just really rude for no reason.

I used to come here a lot following stocktakes in all the local Pret shops. It is a good looking, wood panelled pub with decent beers. This visit followed a long, lazy lunch. It lacked the sparkle I remembered, was good without ever making me feel I was anywhere special.

After an evening at the local theatre we searched for a nice pub for dining and decided to come here, a good choice. The Fish and chips were terrific and the burger and fries and pies were well received by our family. Good range of drinks available. Will return when back in the area.

On our first night in London, blurry-eyed and jetlagged, we stumbled from our hotel in Pimlico to find this terrific pub and restaurant. For someone from the U.S., the Jugged Hare looks like every British pub of your imagination (that statement is a bit fanciful, I know). And the food lives up to the ambiance. We ordered at the bar and the food was brought out to our table. We didn’t have a full, proper meal (due to said jetlag) but our variety of small plates and sides were quite delicious. The avocado bruschetta was fresh and the chips and seasonal veg were welcomed friends. We discovered later that Rick Steves recommends this neighborhood place in his guidebook, which was a fun reverse recommendation that I can easily agree with.

Beautiful interior with nice high ceilings and plenty of space, but music was playing too loud and I was sold the most expensive espresso I've ever seen - £3.35 I ask you.

I brought a voucher for the fish and chips so figured why not go try it. The pub had a nice atmosphere and even a beer garden in the back. The fish and chips were average but the service and beer was what made a difference. I heard they have a decent Sunday Roast too.

We arranged to meet friends here for pre lunch drinks - love Fullers! Fantastic welcome from the gentleman on duty - we arrived before it opened and we asked if we could come in and wait in the garden - we knew we couldn’t order drinks. He was very accommodating- I was also allowed to try the house cider - pink one before buying a pint. Delicious. Our only regret that we’ve never been before and we only had time for one drink! We’ll be back!

A very pleasant venue with good food. On the costly side for a pub lunch but this is central London and the food is definitely a cut above the average pub grub. The chef is very accommodating and constructed a dish with gnocchi and chicken which wasnt on the menu. Fuller's ESB and other proper beers on tap.

Lovely. Good was incredible. Service was great. Would have given 5 stars, but they are not wheelchair accessible, and their only restrooms are down stairs, so even those with mild mobility issues are SOL of they need to use the facilities.

Stopped in before going back to my hotel. The bartender has a heart of gold. I forgot her name but she is studying to be an artist! If you have her serve you, please tip her generosly. Not only did she provide excellent service, she even helped a local who is struggling in life. She did not shun him or treat him poorly but with dignity and respect. This is why I loved this place! To the owners, keep her cause I would of not written such a great review otherwise. Cheers from a Canadian.
