The atmosphere of this pub for eating with friends in a cozy way is great. The burgers and fries are excellent. The service is impeccable. What a beautiful address.

Had pre show drinks in this wonderful atmospheric pub before going to the London Palladium. Amazing bar staff and decent drink prices. It was a hot sunny Friday Evening last night and the place was packed. An absolute must👍👍

Had a fab time at The Argyll this evening, Naomi was a highlight for us! She was attentive, polite and provided excellent chat! Would recommend, definitely ring in advance to see if she’s in!

Lovely server, but supervisor or manager came down shouting and even thre his fob at the sever while I was being served. Guess you expect that with….

We only got a couple of starters and they were pretty good. Didn't try the mains tho. Pretty good selection of beers as well. Interiors are just amazing

We love a pub and this is a great spot as conveniently located to the London Palladium. The staff were welcoming and attentive. He helped us with our choices advising us on the flavours of various dishes. The pies are of very generous portions with nicely cooked accompaniments and a jug of gravy on the side. We left not only full but really satisfied. We can’t wait to revisit.

A great pub in the heart of central London, I stop by for a pint whenever im near. Friendly staff and really great atmosphere.

Came into pub for pint after show at Palladium at about 10.30pm. Seemed fairly quiet and bought pint and half and as we found seats, the bell rang. Then heard someone who seemed very stressed telling the people she was serving that they could have their drinks but they'd only have 5 minutes to drink them. Then she came through bar and told us the same and said we could have plastic glasses to take them away if we couldn't finish them in time. Then proceeded to tell other staff how stressed she was, shouted she wanted glass of wine, then sent someone through pub with plastic glasses and orders to tell people to leave. Very unsatisfactory experience, especially for a pub that must be used to this kind of thing.

Am I being unreasonable but £7.65 for a pint of shandy?! Surely daylight robbery.

A very attractive pub close to Oxford Circus a d some quiet booths with direct bar access

This pub had a great vibe and was simply beautiful inside. It had lights everywhere and little rooms within frosted glass walls. I can’t wait to bring friends back to this pub!

Had a great meal with friends who met up with us from the States. Our bartender and server Chris made us feel right at home. The food was delicious pub grub and the cocktails and beers were flowing.

Beautiful interior, not too expensive beer however too many cask choices for the turnover - my Nicholson's pale was on the turn and not really enjoyable. Fat barmaid was miserable, didn't say a word and didn't really want to be there. Will try again next time on the west end.

Visited on a quite Sunday afternoon, ordered the roast, one beef , one chicken. Had to send the beef back, I’ve seen road kill that looks more healthy Chicken was ok , ok , just ok. Vegetables were more rubbery than an inside tennis court. 0/10 for the food, but staff were nice. Come on , Dort it out ! Heart of London , serving such rubbish food , it just takes a bit of effort.

James went above and beyond to accommodate us. The meal was absolutely fantastic. The staff here are amazing. Really busy buzzing atmosphere. Very reasonably priced.

Came in Valentines night for a meal before a show. Dining area upstairs has a lovely atmosphere. Plenty of choices on the menu and very reasonably priced. The guy serving us was very welcoming and friendly. As we told him he was a very good host. Highly recommend.

Went in to have lunch and few drinks with my colleagues for my birthday. My colleagues had steak sandwich and said it was a 6/10. I had a Club sandwich which I would rate as a 8/10. The staff there are friendly and nice. Would go there again for a nice club sandwich and few drinks. Thank you ☺️

Nice old fashioned pub very near Oxford Circus tube station. Does classic pub food. Part of Nicholson's chain, they have lots of oldy worldy pubs in London. Handy for the London Palladium, but can be rammed when there's a show on. Recommend.

The premises, A lovely old building with character decor. Seating area was well presented and not to cramped. Just the right amount of tables and chairs for the room. Food. Was well presented, decent portions and hot. Staff. Very pleasant and polite, nothing was to much trouble.

Great food and service and a homely ambiance in the upstairs restaurant. We wanted to have a post-lunch drink in the lively bar downstairs but there were no free tables. Not a criticism, it's great that it's a popular spot, but it meant we didn't stay longer. Would return if we're in the area again.

Went in for a quick drink and the atmosphere was amazingly cozy. The Christmas decorations were very pretty and made the interiors sparkle.

Great service. We had tickets for the panto at 2.30pm and was hoping we would have time to eat. as our table was booked for 1pm. Food was very quick and lovely. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There was just one meal on the menu my Mum chose which they had ran out of so she had to choose a second option. Lovely pub, we will definitely come back when in London again.

The food was fresh and delicious. The dining room most inviting with Christmas decor, warmth and cheer.

Supervisor was rude and aggressive

Was there on Christmas Eve and was eating food and a street vendor came in and was not stopped he came in with a bouquet of flowers put it on the table and picked up my phone and ran out …..the staff did not bother and said it’s not their responsibility….so be careful when u go there !!

Very charming and elegantly decorated pub. The atmosphere on the ground floor is typical and lively while that of the dining floor is calm and traditional. The Sunday roast perfectly meets the expectations of a tourist wanting to discover a traditional English dish. The roast was very well cooked as were the fresh and crunchy vegetables accompanying it. In addition, the plate is generous. A special note to Sophie who guided us perfectly in this gastronomic discovery.

Everything was just as we liked and we would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful pub, very convenient location, just outside Oxford circus station. We chose this pub as our meeting point with friends, can get busy but that just adds to the charm! Definitely coming back!

Lovely pub just outside the tube station. Had the steak and ale pie which was tasty. Friendly and efficient team behind the bar. Would recommend.

Service lacking. The barman on arrival seemed annoyed when we didn’t know what we wanted to drink the minute we walked in the door. Standing at the bar I could see other customers receiving a similar service to us by other staff members too. At ten to eleven we were told they were closing, leave and take our drinks with us. It was very clear that the staff were not interested in providing a service and it sadly had a hugely negative impact on such an attractive setting.

Excellent food served by a helpful, polite and efficient waiter in a lively and bubbly environment - what more is there.

Went here for a few Saturday afternoon drinks. Service is good considering how busy it gets as it is just behind Oxford Circus. Guinness here is good

Hele mooi en gezellige pub in hartje Soho met goede muziek. Leuke plek om te gaan aperitieven voor je naar een restaurant vertrekt. Zoals in alle pubs kan je hier natuurlijk ook eten maar dat hebben we niet gedaan. Nog een speciale vermelding voor het speciale, mooie interieur met verschillende niches en met oa een prachtig plafond

Great service from Chris and Sophie upstairs. We were a large group and they handled the chaos of us all asking for extra things really well! Very polite and friendly.

The table booked was ready and waiting when we arrived. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the staff helpful despite being rushed off their feet. Very handy for a visit to the Palladium.

We booked the Argyll arms for a pre theatre lunch before the pantomime, the location is perfect for the palladium. The pub was warm and inviting and decked out beautifully with Christmas decorations. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed to a table upstairs where our host Chris really went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Considering how busy the restaurant was he managed to serve every customer on his own, quite a remarkable feat given the time of the year!!! Chris could definitely could show others how it’s done in hospitality.

Had an EXCELLENT Christmas meal / party in the upstairs room. Chris was our host for the evening and was excellent with helping everything run smoothly for our group of 15. Highly recommend for gatherings! Also the team were great in the run up helping to cater for a variety of food allergies / intolerances. We had a wonderful night.

Only stopped in for a quick pint. Ended up having two. Fabulously beautiful pub with all the glass panels on the walls. Busy place but managed to get a table. We had the guest beer of Edinburgh stout which was terrific. Go, it's an enjoyable experience. Well worth a visit.

A proper Victorian pub just by the station

I used to stop in here often. I'm back in London regularly again but will be finding a new 'local' after being charged £8.10 last night for a pint!! Sat near the bar for an hour and in that time 2 other customers complained at the price of the drinks. This used to be a great pub but they are clearly now more focused on ripping off the Oxford Street tourists than having regulars who work and visit the area. Such a shame, I won't be going back.

Amazing food and an even better IPA! Warm and cozy pub in the middle of London. I have been there last friday for lunch with my friend and we had a great time. Good service, no rush, VERY kind staff and Rob was fantastic with us. All perfect. I had the classic Fish and Chips and I will have it back in the future.

Popped in for an early evening meal before going to the London Palladium yesterday. Fantastic atmosphere and a lovely dining area. Lovely food and great service from Chris who was very friendly. Service like this makes a real difference to the experience and I would highly recommended this pub for both drinks and food 👌

I came in on a cold night. Me and my friends just wanted to grab a drink. When we saw the small pub, we excitedly went in and struggled to find seating, as the pub is incredibly small. After we finally found some stools, we went to the bar to order our pints. We are American travelers, visiting for the week and wanted to experience the full english pub scene. When we spoke to the bartender to ask for our drinks, she rudely told us she could not accept American ID’s because they had no way of knowing if they were fake. I find this absolutely ridiculous!! They asked us for European ID, but as we are AMERICAN citizens, there is no way we would have had that. Me and my friends are all well over age. It is ridiculous to not accept American ID in this day and age. Absolutely ridiculous!! The argyle arms is not tourist friendly. Please avoid. As for the pub itself- fix your policies, as this is offensive and outdated. Your pub is in a. prominent part of London, where tourists must come in. Your actions, and your handling of my situation was absolutely disgusting.

Popped in for a drink, asked the server what the cheapest lager was then ordered a half pint. She returned a minute later apologising for giving me the wrong answer. I then ordered the cheaper lager. Excellent customer service.

Probs my best pub in this area. It has such a charm, historical and handsome. Renowned for its ales and gins, with a good selection of food and other drinks, backs off from the London palladium, 2 minutes from Oxford circus, tucked neatly on the corner from Oxford street. Friendly staff, seating inside with booths available and seating outside. Clean toilets, lovely atmosphere.

This is the second time I have been treated badly by the same girl. The first time I didn't say anything but this time she went too far, without any reason. Apart from being rude, she refused to serve me saying that she is the manager. Even if she is the manager, she needs to be regulated.

Very nice pub with original timber bar, screens and panelling. Pricey drinks though.. 1 pint of German wheat beer and a bottle of Peroni came to £14.35! But that's London for you...

Enjoyed a variety of appetizers and a pie so my sister, niece, and I could sample several pub options. Not disappointed. Server, Chris, was a standout. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, location, service... Nice job!
