Ye Olde London in City of London, Westminster

Food and drinks were great but the service was even better, attentive and smooth, from all staff but particularly from Henry.

This is a hidden gem near St Paul's cathedral. From the outside it looks like a small pub, but it has a large beautifully light and airy downstairs bar/dining area (with a pool table - something you don't see often in the City) It also has a beer garden off the downstairs area which is lovely and quiet considering it's in the heart of the city. Service was fantastic. Staff were quick to serve with a friendly attitude. The manager was particularly helpful when we asked for advice on drinks, also when we asked if football could be shown (big plus they have multiple screens) Menu has variety to suit most tastes. Food was served quickly, even though the pub was quite busy and was of excellent quality (also good to see staff check food was OK after we'd started - more like a restaurant than a pub) Would highly recommend and will definately be returning. Shame I can't give 6 stars, this one deserves it - they're definately doing something right.

This place is rubbish. Just finished such a bland meal, ordered steak sandwiches with chips and a pint of peroni each. £43 for flat beer, tasteless steak and stale bread. Two of the three ladies toilets were blocked and un-usable. The bar man was so rude and uninterested, didn’t even offer cutlery or napkins. Had to go over and ask for this which he just dumped at the end of the bar with a grunt. Zero atmosphere, no music playing just a constant beeping of an alarm. And never bothered to clear our plates, what a rubbish experience. This was our Saturday night out and meant to be a treat and it was utter rubbish. We aren’t tourists we live in London and expect a lot better. Would never, ever return. We didn’t even bother complaining because you could just tell by the attitude of the staff here that they don’t give a sh*t.

I absolutely love Ye Olde London, it’s my local and where my bestie and I frequent every Wednesday and sometimes Thursday evenings. The staff are always super friendly and proactive whereby as soon as they see us enter the bar, they’re already pouring our drinks. The new manager; Andreea is incredible and very attentive. Barry and Seb are a breath of fresh air and always make us feel welcome with their jovial, positive attitude. I’ve never been in a pub where it feels like family, a true home from home. I would highly recommend this place, the drinks selection is grand and the food delicious, you can’t go wrong. They’ve recently refurbished and the place is looking beautiful with the light wood, green painted walls, candle lit holders and a lovely garden. They’ve really spruced the place up and brought it up to date without losing the traditional feel. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Rushing around on Open House weekend and feeling very hungry spotted this place. (Unfortunately there was someone in the doorway blocking a sign more later) The staff were friendly and a lovely looking pub we were guided downstairs for lunch. The food was served promptly but was not as nice as it looks, the peas were definitely nuked, the mash moved in one lump and the pie had a nice filling but the crust was very hard and uneatable, Did not stay for deserts, It is a shame as the staff and premises were very warm and inviting, it was on the way out that I saw it was a Green King premise, sorry but the Pubs are usually very nice but the food is the same across the group.

I think it's a great place. Classic pub atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food and beers. Prices are also relatively fair. Worth a visit.

Just called in on passing for some refreshments. Very popular place, very busy but we still managed to find a seat.

We came to visit the Old Bailey and had lunch at Ye Olde London. The food and drinks were amazing and the staff were all very polite and friendly. Great service! Loved the interior design and the bathroom was very clean. Will definitely visit again :)

I had an amazing experience at Ye Olde London! The service was top-notch and definitely worth a full five stars. They even went above and beyond by charging my phone, which was a huge help. We had a great time, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

What a Pub! Has better food and atmosphere over fancy restaurants back in Washington DC! Had a wonderful experience in London, and despite what anyone might have said, the food in London was the best part. Heck this pub has a chicken katsu burger with coriander! Blimey that’s what you call flavoUr! The atmosphere is hectic upstairs and quiet and reserved downstairs, but which is bloody perfection. The beer is solid (and it comes in pints). Give this place a go, she won’t disappoint!

Traditional Pub with a wide range of products on the menu where you can drink and eat. Music and pleasant atmosphere. Located next to St. Paul's Cathedral and connected by the Millennium Bridge to the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre. Drop by, the waiters will treat you very well.

My friends and I had a great time chilling here over lunch. Food was served hot and needed a bit of seasoning, but was otherwise delicious! Service was excellent with friendly staff making us feel very welcome.

Popped in for a quick drink for dinner. Friendly barman, quick service and a nice seat by the window. Was pretty quiet considering it was about 1745 in the evening. The downstairs bar seems to have a better atmosphere, but no complaints.

Good place to have a beer and eat after a pleasant walk through the City of London. They have an outdoor terrace on the ground floor with a very comfortable TV. The katsu chicken burger was delicious.

Very great place to eat and drink! You can watch football and other sports. We come regularly and always love it and never leave hungry or thirsty👍🏻

First stop in London after a long day of travel from the U.S. Great beer, cocktails, and service. The fish and chips were so good, we plan to come back again! Tucked in right next to St. Paul’s cathedral with the quintessential “British Pub” atmosphere would recommended 12/10!

Came here with my dad on our first night in London and we had a wonderful time! Monday night so it wasn’t very crowded, the fish and chips and mushroom chili were great, and Barry was awesome and very sweet at the bar. Pool table and outdoor seating available downstairs. Nice place for a relaxed weeknight!

Has a serious rat problem. Must avoid. Update: thank you for your response. However I find your response very misleading, I have videos of mouse traps under the tables and also have a video of a mouse running around your establishment.

Pub where you can see and eat. Room on the ground floor and room in the basement with exterior access. Order at the bar, dish service at the table. Simple and efficient. Fish & chips well served.

This is an interesting pub in a great location just 100 yards from St Pauls. You enter the pub at ground floor level, here you will find a rather small area. The choice of drinks is somewhat limited given the size of the bar. However if you go down to the basement you will find a large area with ample seating and a pool table. Here you will find 6 cask beers but I opted for a Neck Oil IPA at £7.60. The real secret of this pub is the small beer garden next to the basement bar, a quiet tranquil haven. This pub offers a "double up" offer on spirits eg 25ml Chivas Regal at £6.30, 50ml at £8.80. They do offer typical pub food eg fish and chips, steak and ale pie etc. If you visit this pub I recommend that you go to the basement and beer garden.

Stumbled in and had a great time! The food was tasty and so was the Lager! Staff very friendly and helpful. Drop in when you can.

Warm and friendly service, clean, easy to order on the app. Only downside was that the TV was a bit too small to really see all the action in the Euros final. Would also have been nice if they had extended food service hours till half time, as I'm sure they would have gotten a fair bit of business with everyone stress eating! All in all a really decent pub - would go back.

Had a nice authentic English pub vibe, other than the American pop music. Good service, good food (had the steak and ale pie, fish and chips, and BBQ chicken), cold pints, comfortable seating, and cold air-conditioning on a hot summer evening. Couldn't ask for much more. The prices have gone up a bit, by about a pound since the picture posted by another contributor 9 months ago, but I think the prices are still fair for London city, and for the quality and quantity. Also, when you come here, make sure to check out the basement and courtyard seating before deciding where you want to sit.

I came in because I saw they had Guinness Zero, but was delighted by great food and great service as well. Sebastian suggested the Halumi wrap to me which was terrific. Everyone was lovely and, bonus, on an exceptionally hot day it was nice and cool. Not too crowded, lovely spot for a bite! Hey grateful that they had not only the NA beer that i like, but their mocktail list looked great as well.

This is an authentic British pub in London! As a Canadian, I wanted to experience supper in an “authentic British pub.” I had the steak and ail pie, which was very tasty. My wife had the fish and chips, which was also very good. However; the bartender took the time to explain to me that in a British pub, you have to go to the bar to order food and drinks. This is unlike a bar in Canada, where someone will serve you. At any rate, great food, great beer, great service, just GREAT!!! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to experience ! I’ll be back again once more during my time in London!

Staff were very helpful and kind. They kindly gave us instructions on how to order as it’s a different process in our home country. The staff ensured our allergies and dietary restrictions were met. The food was good as well!

Karaage spicy chicken and halloumi was good but the jerk chicken bao buns were dreadful - do not buy them. Hard as hell and practically inedible, suprised they even serve them. But perhaps that’s our fault for ordering jerk chicken from a British pub.

Bartender was very nice. Steak and Ale pie was delicious!

The courtyard area downstairs is great in the summer for drinks and food.

Super cosy Greene King pub in the heart of London. Very friendly service 👌

The place smelt like sewage, the secret garden was a horrible dingy place. There was also a builder drilling through the doorframe most of the time we were there. Also patrons not desirable, one man walked out to the so called “secret garden” and burped loudly.

Not recommended due to poor staff service, poor education and little attention. They don't even tell you what to eat even if you know Esoañol since it seems that the Spanish bother them. Typical English place dimly lit and with sticky tables. The food has nothing special to go to this place for and they did not have several dishes on the menu available.

Nice friendly atmosphere. An old English style pub. If you are not able to negotiate stairs , the toilets are downstairs. This seems to quite normal in pubs close to the Thames.

Steak and Ale pie literally contained 3 tiny gristle pieces of beef. Should be renamed gravy pie. The merlot sauce/gravy was delish. So disappointing.
