Barry was amazing at the bar! Our waiter brought the food quickly, and the fish and chips were delicious.

After a long day of visiting tourist attractions, we were looking for a place with traditional English pub food and a great atmosphere. Ye Olde London lived up on both counts. The Fish & Chips and Steak and Ale were both great. A short walk from St. Paul's Cathedral.

Excellent, friendly service, but the gluten free choices were less good than I was expecting from reading the menu ahead of time. For GF eaters I would recommend more strongly for a drink and snack than for a meal.

Lovely place to have something to eat and drink - whether you want a snack or full meal. Secret Garden Bar was great- away from traffic and very relaxing atmosphere. Service was excellent - deserves 10 stars.

Very nice and neat place for lunch, dinner and drinks. Outside secret garden is a nice place. Barry will take care of your order and give best suggestions for drinks.

I don't normally write pub food reviews. This was the worst food I've encountered. I went and asked before ordering if the steak sandwich could be cooked well done rather than medium. I was told yes, but It still came out pink. Garlic bread was lovely. NewYork chicken was sent back, dry hard and inedible. Steak sandwich was sent back for recook, and chips cold. We went for the marathon. My mum was bad all night and couldn't come, due to the food. Thank GOD, I refused to eat anything, because if I'd of missed the marathon after a year Fundraising and training I'd of definitely been submitting stool samples and having the health inspection in. We are monthly visitors to London, never stayed near St Pauls before. We use chain pubs and don't usually have an issue. Clearly the kitchen lost its probe! Avoid The table next to us, also left their food and hurried out

We had a wonderful lunch Ye Olde London pub. Barry was wonderful. We enjoyed fish and chips, Steak and Ale Pie, macaroni and cheese, sticky toffee pudding and wine.

Billiard table downstairs to hang out with friends and have a pint or 2 while in town.

Mid afternoon on a sunny Monday and there was not much atmosphere. Was also quite£££, £7.50 for 2 halves. We can get almost 2 pints at home for that. Choose your drinks wisely Also the kitchen closed but we were told about that

We were walking around St Paul's Cathedral and came across this pub for lunch. Typical atmosphere of a London pub. The servers are very friendly and we ate well 👍🏻

I was in a completely different area and upon arrival I discovered that Ye olde London had canceled my reservation without warning: "Our kitchen is closed"... congratulations!!!

The food here was amazing and all the staff members were very kind!

An unhappy experience on Easter Saturday. I took two friends from overseas here on their last day in the UK, wishing to experience traditional British fish and chips. I ordered at the bar and paid, and we waited a LONG time, maybe half an hour. Still no food, so I went to the bar and was told the kitchen was so slow that they were taking no further food orders and wouldn’t be able to serve us anytime soon. A harassed looking manager made a refund and we left without being fed. He was also having to do the same for other unhappy customers. Not a great advert for British catering! Whoever is running the pub should perhaps consider a career change?

We had the fish and chips, cheese burger, steak and ale pie, steak sandwich which were all amazing. Totally recommended this after your tour of St Paul Cathedral. Ask for Barry super nice and very informative.

I’ve been visiting this pub regularly, and they’ve recently renovated the interior, which has really enhanced the atmosphere. There’s more space downstairs, along with a well-maintained pool table that has become our safe haven! The staff are also incredibly welcoming and friendly, which makes our visits even more enjoyable.

Visité Ye Olde Londres un sábado para cenar, y aunque el ambiente era lo que cabría esperar de un pub tradicional, el servicio dejó mucho que desear. La mujer que trabajaba detrás de la barra era increíblemente grosera: cada vez que alguien pedía una bebida, soltaba un suspiro masivo, como si servir a los clientes en un pub fuera un inconveniente. También fui testigo de que era totalmente agresiva con otra mesa cuando su pedido de comida era incorrecto, prácticamente gritándoles diciendo que era su culpa. Para colmo, dio instrucciones en voz alta a cada nuevo cliente para que bajara, alegando que era porque el personal del bar de abajo "habla varios idiomas", lo que pareció extraño y poco acogedor. Honestamente, estaría mucho más adaptada para trabajar en Karen’s Diner, donde la grosería es parte de la experiencia. En general, el mal servicio eclipsó lo que podría haber sido una visita decente. No regresaría a menos que haya un ajuste serio de actitud.

I visited Ye Olde London on a Saturday for dinner, and while the atmosphere was what you'd expect from a traditional pub, the service left a lot to be desired. The woman working behind the bar was incredibly rude—every time someone ordered a drink, she let out a massive sigh, as if serving customers in a pub was an inconvenience. I also witnessed her being outright aggressive toward another table when their food order was incorrect, practically shouting at them saying it was thier fault. To top it off, she loudly instructed every new customer to go downstairs, claiming it was because the bar staff downstairs "speaks multiple languages"—which came across as bizarre and unwelcoming. Honestly, she’d be much better suited to working at Karen’s Diner, where rudeness is actually part of the experience. Overall, the poor service overshadowed what could have been a decent visit. Wouldn't return unless there’s a serious attitude adjustment.

Asistimos como una familia de 8 antes de asistir a una ceremonia de graduación. Un día muy importante para todos nosotros. Elegimos Green King ya que siempre tienen un servicio muy alto. ¡Desafortunadamente no este! La camarera arruinó nuestra experiencia con su grosería. Declaró que uno de nuestro partido había pedido la comida equivocada (¡oído por otros que él ordenó la comida correcta! ) , ella luego se refirió a confrontar agresivamente a nuestro miembro del partido y acusarlo de ordenar incorrectamente. Si ella hubiera prestado atención en primer lugar en lugar de seguir saliendo al frente del pub por un vapeador. Puede que haya dado bien la orden. También fuimos testigos de cómo gritaba a muchos otros huéspedes mientras estábamos allí. Definitivamente no volveríamos aquí con prisa. ¡O al menos hasta que se resuelva la dotación!

Spacious and excellent food. Most pubs we checked out in the area are small but this place is spacious and had good seating spots. We tried their fish appetizers, sausages, and flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce. All were to our liking. Definitely recommend especially if you are new to the area. Good for family and groups. Glad to find this gem.

Nice pub with good food! A relaxt atmosphere, ideal to escape the bustle of the city and very kind servers! Within walking distance of St. Pauls cathedral so ideal as a lunch or dinner stop. Would definitely recommend!

We actually stumbled in there - looking for a cozy pub. This turned into two evenings and we really enjoyed it. Super cool people, casual atmosphere, very good beer, the burgers are delicious and there's even a pool table in the middle. Everything very clean. All in all, a TOP restaurant.

If you are in London and are looking for a pub where you can eat well, Ye Old London is a perfect choice. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff friendly and the food really tasty. I tried the burger and it was delicious: generous portions and genuine flavors with excellent beers. It is the ideal place for a break after touring the city or for a quiet evening with friends. Simply put, if you want a typical London pub with good food and a great atmosphere, Ye Old London is definitely worth a visit!

Classic English pub, close to St. Paul's Cathedral. With Green King beers, large-scale multis on tap and some local beers. (E.g. Beavertown Neck oil, Pub-food, Fish&chips, Steak&Ale Pie, pea puree, etc. Pleasant, unadulterated place sports broadcasting)

Great location and staff tried but the pub was sold out of all Sunday roast options at 5pm, and all the cask ales on the board. Food I got instead was not great (Steak and ale pie). Prices were fair for the heart of London.

Qué joya de pub. Había visitado antes de muchas lunas atrás y estaba bien. ¡Qué diferencia ahora! La renovación es fantástica, la cerveza está en otro nivel y lo que un gran trabajo Andreea (Directora General) y su equipo de excelente personal están haciendo para hacer su experiencia tan cálida, acogedora y amable. Sin duda recomiendo una visita.

everything was perfect, I ate a Sunday roast for first time and the food and the service was great.

Lovely pub near City Thameslink and St Paul's. Good range of alcohol and beer choices. Had a Downstairs with plenty of room.

Just had tea and coffee. It was packed but the helpful chap went immediately to get some milk after a misunderstanding. Very kind and courteous.

The atmosphere is quite nice, really enjoyed the food, however not so much the staff, when i walked in the young lad at the bar seemed more focused on his phone then the customers, and had quite a blunt attitude when serving.

We spent New Year's Eve in this pub, one of the few to stay open late, which is really nice. The room is very pretty, with a typically London atmosphere (sports TV, billiards). The staff is friendly and the drinks are excellent! However, we regretted the unfriendly atmosphere for a New Year's Eve party: it looked more like a classic evening. Damage ! :/

We went to this place twice during our stay in London and had a good time. The burgers we got were good and well served. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the prices are quite honest. I can recommend it.

Arrived at 6pm and they had no food from the main menu except for the pie. Couldn't even order a bowl of chips!!!! Seriously? We left.

Best IPA in London and lovely place

WARNING DO NOT SPEND MONEY AT YE OLDE LONDON! I happened upon this hell whole last night on New Year’s Eve. My group was looking for a few drinks at a bar. Upstairs seemed lively and chaotic so we headed downstairs to check out the space and the atmosphere. We were unaware that we were descending into the pits of hell. As we walked by the bar, an alarming woman ran from around the bar and positioned herself in front of me separating me from my group and preventing me from walking onward. “Do you have a reservation?!” This was spoken in a Slavik accent not as a question, but as an irritated accusation. If she simply wanted to convey that the venue was at capacity, she could have asked if we were looking for space or to just order at the bar. I’ve dealt with this type of racism before and chose to respond by ignoring her and walking past her. She followed me and my group around (again, not the first time I experienced this type of unprovoked treatment) until one of my companions turned to confront her. She knew she was wrong so she started accusing us of cussing at her. We asked to speak to a manager and she said she was (I hope not because this business is doomed with a leader like this). We decided we didn’t even want to spend our money in a place that would treat patrons this awful. As we were leaving, she followed us out as she motioned that she was calling the police on her cell (not unfamiliar to the Karen experience). On our way out the door, she instructed the two security guards at the door to not allow us back inside. They kind of rolled their eyes to assuage her demands. I looked at other reviews on Google and Yelp and all bad reviews had the same cut and paste response from the business, so I do not have any hope that concerns are seriously considered. I often book events for work in London and I will be sure to avoid Ye Olde London; also advising my colleagues at work and in my industry to do the same. I rarely write reviews for bad service but this event was so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others.

Very Rasist pub that does not take any notice of complaints made by very rude staff, same response on every complaint on this site. Clearly does not care about reviews ... customers as from what I can see on the reviews here n nothing has changed. This place is loosing so many customers. Really think they should monitor and train staff on how to treat their customers. And please don't respond with same message as it us insulting,

On the 31/12/24 I was totally disappointed with the staff of this establishment, at first I thought the so called manager from downstairs who seemed of an eastern european background was just rude and had very little social skills, but then to find that she was hiding her racist characteristics behind rudeness and trying to act like the victim is just shocking. I have never been so embarrassed to have seen this kind of behaviour first hand while my girlfriend and her sister were visiting from the U.S If this establishment is run by a brewery you should take a look at the people you are hiring as I feel this is not a representation of the British people.

The pub is a 'more traditional' style which is delightful. The staff were incredibly kind, however the service was hit and miss due to how busy it was and also the fact like most of hospitality they seriously need more staff to deal with the demand. The food we ordered was tasty and ample, however it was not as hot as it should have been. I assume due to staffing issues in getting the food from the kitchen to the tables.

Food - edible and that's the max. I didn't get poisoned. To be honest, it was very bad, we ate some of each dish. We went to eat at another pub nearby. I don't recommend eating there. Drinking beer is ok, food - leave it alone.

(Would say at 50/60 % capacity). We ordered at 1.45 pm and only received the food past 3pm. When the food finally came, it came cold and one of burgers, you could kill someone with the patty given how hard it was. And only 4 out of 6 plates came. We had to wait 20 min for the other two and only after we complained did they magically appear. Incredibly unprofessional staff that just offered a "it is what it is" response and vague sorrys.

Really bad experience. No welcoming atmosphere. Customer service was none existent. Had to clear our own table. 1hr 30mins wait for food which wasn't really edible, burnt batter, awful halloumi and left a lot to be desired.

Very rich and very friendly in attention

Served by the most miserable and lethargic bar person (female) I’ve ever come across. Didn’t answer my question and was more interested in looking into her phone rather than actually serve the customer. Sad for the pub owner that this employee was so poor. Won’t bother spending my money here again.

The final pub on our short crawl: we enjoyed a pint of good Guinness as the place began its close down for the evening. Met some Austrian guys at the bar who we talked to for a while - a real melting pot! Nice pub, centrally located. I would return!

Stunningly delicious food. Typical European attention, absolutely, unpleasant. For the desserts and Greene King beer I would return, without a doubt.

Waited patiently to get served, ignored by the only bar person who then made a point of serving someone who had just walked up to the bar.....the recent re-fit has left it devoid of atmosphere. Definitely a place for tourists

Cozy pub but sadly let down by nonchalant staff who see customers as infringing on their loitering about time. Slow lethargic service. So many Better pubs nearby within walking distance. Avoid this one.

We were a party of 5 people but every one had a great time.i would certainly recommend it to everybody.
