Rather unimpressive (especially for the price and establishment) I must say. The sandwiches were very bland. You could barely taste any of the ingredients or distinguish one from another given the one tone texture of all the ‘different’ breads. Scones were delightful, but very, very small. The patisserie was good, but not excellent. There are no cakes as part of the menu. Having had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea at many institutions around London, I have to say, this one does not meet the mark. You can experience a nicer ambience at The Landmark, eat more delicious food at The Corinthia, and taste a more innovative menu at The Cadogan. All of these alternatives are 20% lower in price for the same, if not better quality. I did not appreciate the teas being taken away before we had finished eating either. We were also charged £10.13 more a bottle of still water we never received… Additionally, the dress code online is nothing but a lie. During my seating there were a multitude of guests wearing tracksuits and trainers… This ruined the atmosphere significantly. The tea room is of course pretty, but very dull from the lack of natural light.

Such a lovely welcoming pub in central London! We popped in for a drink and ended up staying the whole evening. The atmosphere was warm & cosy. We didn't have to wait long to be served which was a bonus on a Saturday night! We were served by Luigi every time which made our experience so enjoyable as he was smiley, chatty and fun. Will definitely return!

My husband and i spent 3 lovely days in this beautiful hotel just before Xmas. We loved it! We were very lucky to visit the famous bar a couple of times and enjoy the fantastic martini, it is truly outstanding! Both the hotel and bar staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. We are planning to come back in November, hopefully the refurbishment work going on at the moment will be completed, i'm looking forward to seeing the improvements!

The worst and most expensive roast beef dinner I have had, tough elastic beef, sloppy watery spinach, and god knows what they did to the roast poatoes, black brown and texture of boiled potatoes, a pint of flat warm lemonade from a big plastic bottle, the waitress kept repeating with a scowl that service was not included, I went with a friend after listening to someone famous reminisce about his childhood memories of this place, I understand that it is smack bang in the City of London and assumed that they did not like our appearance and thus the hostile reception and the terrible food. Will never return.

Joined a member for a catch up in the lounge. Gorgeous space, aged wood, fireplace, nice vibe. Drinks menu is middling, could be so much better, no high end spirits. Food was not to be repeated. My friend wanted his burger medium rare but that wasn't possible. How is it that Honest Burger can provide burgers medium rare but a high end private club kitchen cannot? The answer must be low quality meat. Disappointing. If they improved their food and drink menu, it would be worth going for more than the lounge environment.

This pub is perfect if you are visit the British museum. It is right opposite the museum and you can eat here after visiting the museum. The food is like in all pubs, I decided to eat Fish and Chips, the traditional meal English and were just as I remembered, bland (yet when I return to London again ask sure).
