Leicester Arms in City of London, Westminster

Unfortunately I took a Blue Moon pint, my usual beer. I’ve been served by the manager himself. It took more than 5min to tap the beer. I had the impression there was a problem. And indeed the beer didn’t tasted as usual, was actually very bad. Bitter and mouldy I would say. On the inspection there were solid residuals on the bottom of the glass. I went down to have it changed, without complaints, things happens it is normal to have a bad pint every now and then. But the manager told me the beer was fine, without inspecting it, without looking at the beer. He neither wanted to see the beer!! He just told me that my beer was fine and that’s it. Pretty incredible, I was speachless I am very sorry because this was one of my favourite pubs but I’ll never come back. Bad batches are not a problem, but arrogance is not tolerable in hospitality 👎

First pub of our stay, good welcome despite the late hour (9 p.m.!) for the service. Excellent fish and chips (although a little fatty for me). Pleasant service.

Went to a private party here and the food was great. Very nice pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord too. Two bars,one upstairs. Located centrally and easy to find.

Dårlig søndag oplevelse. Vi kom kl 14 søndag 13 okt 2024. Vi bestiller mad og drikkevarer. Efter næsten 1 time rykker vi for maden, bliver svaret at de kun er 2 kokke på job. Da maden kommer er de 3 sandwich ikke nogen oplevelse. Bacon var kogt i en mikroovn. Brødet var koldt. Den sidste fik en burger, som dog var god. Bemærkede også 2 andre borde som fik mad 10-15 min efter hinanden. Vi havde haft forståelse for hvis de havde sagt det inden vi bestilte. Det er dårlig service.

Great pub off Regent Street. He has everything I needed; Fish 'n' chips and excellent coleslaw, football broadcasts, Guinness and the typical atmosphere of an English pub.

even though the so called “original fish and chips” was not so terrible, I hardly recommend the post-robbing service. Yes, we were robbes inside the restaurant. Not a lot of help and Zero accountability taken for such events, even thought happening inside the restaurant.

First of all my burger was horrible, dry and tasteless. Second issue was I wanted to pay in cash, they didn’t accept because “he couldn’t open the till without manager”. You are a pub in central London, you have to accept cash.

Great vibe with a lovely, well lit outdoor seating space. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. We came here each afternoon for three days in a row. Tasty food menu and well chosen music.

my sister and I spent about 3 hours here just drinking their strawberry spritz. it was amazing. coming back here everytime I return to London 😃 next time I’ll probably try the food because the menu looked very delicious !

Cosy after-work pub very close to Piccadilly. Fish and chips were good value and very tasty. Lots more room upstairs if you are able.

Very nice person, more than 1 hour to get the dishes. Had sandwiches and steak fries that were not great, average presentation. Only the 3 cheese macaroni was good. Too bad

I do not recommend at all. The cocktails are quasi only water and the beer we've tested was flat. You can find wayyyy better places nearby!

Came here for my birthday and had a lovely time! The staff are friendly while providing prompt and great service. The plant based food options were also very delicious. I would definitely recommend Leicester Arms if you want a nice atmosphere in such a busy place!

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. A great place to enjoy some nice food and a pint or two. Here I would like to say that I was particularly impressed by Alex who provided an excellent service. From what I could see he seems to be very customer focused, ever ready to serve with a cheerful countenance. I shall certainly visit again and bring some friends around.

Came to London Pride on my own this year as all my friends had other plans (Boo to them!) and found the Leicester Arms. Such a welcoming place, full of joy and great music. Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon. Love to all 🏳️‍🌈

Nice time in this pub! We had 5 dishes to share which were delicious and the cocktails were very good too. Thanks to the bartender for not letting us order 10 dishes haha

Been coming here for years with my husband to start our holiday here. This time with my daughter for the first but also the last time. Very impersonal, no consideration was given to the limited amount I can eat. Meat was tough and we had to provide a bank guarantee in advance so that we did not walk away without paying. Quite strange when you are the only table on the 1st floor to eat, extremely inhospitable.

Whatever you do, don't buy drinks upstairs, 20 per cent mark up from downstairs! Rip off. No credible explanation from staff as to why.

Nice litle classic London pub. Perfect for a pre theatre drink and a bite to eat. The food is very basic, pre gastro pub food. Our barman was very flustered trying to cope. He was new to the position and was quickly overwhelmed as the pub got busier. But he was always smiling and friendly. I felt sorry for him that management had put him in that position.

Folks were very friendly and helpful. Steak and ale pie was spot on. Beer recommendations was right. Even the mushy peas tasted right. Very surprised being close to a tourist area.

very much an old man’s pub. if youre not an old white man, it might be a bit awkward. outside of that, however, the drinks are good and decently priced. the location’s great, also. staff are super friendly.

Very good fish and chips, match broadcast, friendly waiter. Small downside: TV too loud and we had to clean the table ourselves as the waiters were overbooked. It remains a good experience all the same.

Called into this venue on Bank Holiday Monday as we had a table booked. Arrived at the allotted time, and went up to the bar, where there were 2 bar staff in attendance, asked at the bar about the reserved table, the lad behind the bar was slightly confused, but we found our table. Went up to the bar to order our food, which was a scampi with mushy peas, a steak and ale pie with mash and peas, drinks were a pint of level head and a tea, I was offered herbal, but just wanted an everyday normal tea, went to show my discount, which seemed to confuse her, but needed a manager to authorise, which was fine, bill was eventually paid and went back to the table. My drink of "level head" was brought over, first thing I noticed, apart from the non branded glass was how dark it was, I tasted it, it was a bitter and not the pale ale I had ordered, I went back to the bar to ask what it was, level head IPA, I said it was a bit dark for level head, but went back to the table, where a few few moments later she came over apologised and said she'd made a mistake, took the pint away and brought me a level head in a non branded glass, we were still waiting for the tea, which we had to go ack to the bar to ask for, the pub was busy but the staff were not over stretched. The tea arrived, there was no milk, no sugar and no tea spoon, so back to the bar again to ask for milk, where the young girl had no idea where it was, also asked for a spoon, someone else had to sort the milk, and we were given a soup spoon for the tea, which turned out to be early grey, which we had not asked for. The food arrived, the scampi looked ok, but the chips were not as advertised, they were not thick cut chips, but thin chips, also the pie arrived with no veg at all, so again we had to ask, and the peas came a couple of minutes later, the food was ok, but having to ask for so many things, wrong drink, staff not exactly knowing what they were doing, dampened the visit. After I had finished my scampi, the lad from the bar immediately came over to clear my plate, while my friend was still eating, and asked if I'd like a dessert, I declined, but as soon as he had finished, he came over again to clear his plate, and again asked if we wanted dessert, we both declined. Would I visit again, probably not.

Poor quality foods, dirty and not nice place

We popped in for a quick drink and a sit down. The pub was very busy but a table soon became available. There was a good array of beers and lagers available. Prices were very competitive. There was a local pub atmosphere within the pub. Well worth a visit. The food looked appetising. Shame we had booked elsewhere.

Discovered this pub in the center of London, I finally ate a real fish and chips, they have been serving them since 1860!!!! There is plenty of room in this pub It broadcasts football matches. The staff is friendly

What an absolute shame ,the Fallen Heroes no longer play there on a Sunday, the band created an incredible atmosphere. Hey ho discovered they are playing at the Whitehorse pub in Soho, that is definitely the venue to be in on a Saturday. What a huge loss to the Leicester arms and a huge bonus for the Whitehorse.

The worst steak I had in the last 5 years or so. If you are here for the drinks and not the food, then it's ok. I don't post reviews often, but it was one of those cases when I just could not ignore it.

Real pub just off Regent street with excellent pub food, try the delightful Korean sesame chicken or the sausage rolls.

A nice large pub with a bar on both the ground floor and upstairs, which helps with the crowds on a busy evening. Drinks service is quick and the prices not too bad given the prime location and the decor cosy yet traditional. Toilets can be a bit of a trek downstairs in the basement but are clean enough despite being small. A decent enough spot for a drink if you’re in the area.

Fish & chips are delicious. Light crispy batter with a lot of fish to enjoy.
