Fantastic dinner here. Great service, ambience and menu. Thoroughly recommend. Friendly and attentive service. Reasonable prices.

Went last minute on Friday night as was in the area, Didn’t think we would get in as we didn’t have a reservation and the restaurant was very busy however we was greeted by a kind host and taken to a lovely booth almost straight away. The atmosphere was nice, (not pretentious at all) 🙄 the tables are spread out and comfortable. The food was good, I had the mushroom ravioli which was fresh and really tasty. The rest of my party had the chicken schnitzel and fish cakes which was also very delicious. Overall I would definitely go back even to go and have drinks!

Good honest fair with casual but excellent service. Have always loved to visit this place and have done for many years. Great food, awesome atmosphere and friendly staff.

We visited both for lunch and breakfast. If rating the lunch only we would have given five stars - it was very well presented, very tasty and service was immaculate. Not cheap but still good value for the quality. The breakfast was not quite at the same level - although service was again good and the cooked breakfast was well-executed. However there was quite a limited choice of cold buffet items - I would normally expect the buffet at this level of hotel to include cold meats and cheeses and smoked salmon, for example, as well as the cereals and pastries that were offered. As a consequence, the overall rating for the restaurant is only four stars.

Amazing ambience and relaxed atmosphere for a lunch among friends. The food was excellent and the service impeccable.

The dining room is lovely as was our table. We had a charming waiter but the food was some of the food was awful, over seasoned, gristly lamb, over cooked pasta and my sea bass was at best mediocre. The chicken schnitzel was actually just fried chicken. The manager came to apologize but didn’t take anything off the bill. I had been thinking about staying at the Ham Yard. The room look chic and spacious but having the terrible dining experience deterred me from retuning

We had a lovely afternoon tea although I thought that the portion of sandwiches was too little for the £45 per person price. You have to pay £7 for extra portion!

We had a leisurely Sunday lunch at The Ham Yard restaurant yesterday . It really was delicious. Fresh prawn and salmon starters , followed by amazing roasts . I had chicken and my partner the beef . There were endless vegetables - very fresh and tasty . Then a traditional dessert trolley . The mood was relaxed with some subtle live music played by a cellist and guitarist . It was a very hot day ( maybe the last of summer ) but we dined in the cool inside but had our coffee in the beautiful courtyard . The food was great and so plentiful I couldn’t eat anything else for 24 hours 😂 Our server Antonio was so so nice , helpful , charming and friendly - a credit to the Ham Yard .

We were a party of three, sat in a booth inside. The waiter was great, gave us plenty of time, gave us suggestions and had a sense of humour. I had the fritto Misti summer veg with chilli + herb Mayo, the roast chicken risotto- which was absolutely delicious and the mango coupe’ We also have cocktails. Everything was absolutely delicious especially the risotto. We had a fabulous evening,

We were a party of 3 crammed onto a table for 2 maximum. Service was very slow, and it was very noisy indeed. Food was adequate but forgettable. The bill however I will remember. We had 1 course (2 of us chicken) and 2/3 drinks and somehow this is £100 per head. There are much more interesting and enjoyable places in London at this price point.

A lovely find in a busy bit of London, we'll definitely be back.

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It is a treat just to be in the gorgeous surroundings. Food is excellent and the service is top notch. One of my very favorites in London!

Delicious food, generous portions, attentive and helpful staff, who made sure we were on time for our theatre booking. We will be back.

Visited the bar around 4pm for cocktails. After being seated in the courtyard with menus, no-one took our drinks order. After a time waiting, we asked twice to order drinks. After ordering, we waited 20 minutes for some olives to arrive. Given that the bar charges around £16 for a drink, the service is simply below standard. Frustratingly, there were about 12 members of staff just standing around chatting. The saving grace was one tall, blonde waiter who seemed to be serving everyone!

Whilst the ambience was great as always and our server was amiable, the service between starters and mains and the service between mains and desserts was unbelievably slow. For dessert I ordered the lemon tart with Earl Grey tea; the tea arrived within 10 minutes but the dessert didn’t arrive for another 30 minutes after that. We complained that we were still waiting on our desserts and by the time it arrived we had to cancel as we were then running late for the theatre. One of the managers came to our table to apologise and arranged for the first round of our drinks and the desserts to be removed from the bill. It’s such a shame as we always opt to dine here on special occasions or before heading to the theatre, we will now be looking for other options.

This is a lovely location especially if you are visiting the theatre as it is tucked away in a quiet courtyard just between Regent Street and where are the theatres are. The ambience inside is fabulous, lots of separate spaces each with their own personality. On this occasion, we ate outside and had the pre theatre menu which although quite limited was excellent quality and portions and very good value. The seating outside on a lovely day is really wonderful. Service is excellent, attentive but not intrusive. The only niggle is that on the menu spirits look very expensive but if you read the small print they are for 50ml which is a double, with no prices shown for singles. If you are driving then it is easier to have two singles and make them last than one double and perhaps not be aware you are drinking a double. I think this needs to be more transparent. I get it in that you are up selling, but the prices for single measures should be shown without having to ask which I did.

Two things: the croissant I have eaten with my coffee was absolutely HORRIBLE. Second thing: I had for lunch the chicken milanese - the portion is too small!!!

met here for a pre matinee lunch. Food good but quite expensive for what it was. Service very good. For such a large space the tables seemed a bit close together. It was convenient for the theatre, walking distance away. Don't think I would go again

Exquisitely decorated space with attentive waiting servers. We had the pre theatre menu - trout tartare that was divine and a sausage cassoulet. The food is delicious but beware the pricey but hugely tempting cocktails! A lovely relaxed start to a theatre evening.

Great location in the heart of London, welcoming helpful staff, food was delicious. Buzzy atmosphere and great decor. We really enjoyed our pre theatre meal here and will definitely be back!

My go to restaurant if catching a West End show. The fixed price set menu is great value for money and is always interesting. Service is also excellent.

Great afternoon tea experience in central London. Lovely venue and nice service at a very decent price. The Rathfinny English sparkling wine is excellent!

The food and service were excellent great place to come for a Sunday roast the braised beef in the Yorkshire pudding is a great touch.Roast potatoes were dry and cauliflower was a bit undercooked Lemon tart was excellent Service was exceptional

Loved the decor and food was exceptional othwr than one dish. We had the house wine which was not to our liking but there was little to choose from in terms of the lower price bracket. Felt there could have been better wine offerings (including Rose) that would have been good

Great experience. We really enjoyed it all. Service was outstanding and the prawn cocktail and cauliflower cheese was exceptionally nice.

The food was great. We met for a girls lunch and had a lovely time. Atmosphere was really nice. The staff were great. Attentive without being over the top. It's definitely not the cheapest and I can see just how much prices have gone up. We had quite a few drinks but over £300 for two people was a shock when the bill came. I only had a starter not even a main meal, my friend just a main meal, nor did we have desserts. We only had cocktails and one glass of champagne so the bill amount we did think excessive! It's not like we had a bottle of expensive wine or champagne. We would go again but save for a special occasion considering how expensive eating out has become these days.

I had Christmas dinner here and it was one of my favorite dinners I’ve ever had in my life. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. The Christmas crackers with crowns inside were such a lovely touch and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Thank you Ham Yard

Had dinner here before going to see Moulin Rouge at Piccadilly Theater (steps away). VERY cool place. Had a drink in the bar first. Lots of little unique seating areas. Can't describe as any particular theme other than...ecclectic. Excellent service/food. *Really* great sourdough bread :-) I had fish and hubby had venison. Pricey but worth it. Highly recommend.

Great experience. The Sunday lunch menu was paying homage to the Sunday lunch menus served at Hix Soho. The food was nicely cooked and the meal was pleasantly paced. The waiting staff were at the top of their game and were only too happy to explain aspects of the menu and design details dotted around the stylishly kitted out hotel.

Buzzy vibe and plenty of great staff to hand, but the food was decidedly average. When I pay almost £30 for a pasta ragu, I’m looking for something a notch up from a chain restaurant.

Brilliant food for the pre-theatre set menu- very good quality, tasty and excellent value for money. Lovely interior and atmosphere if quite noisy. Large tables and plenty of room. We arrived at 6pm with theatre at 7.30 (just next door) only reason I’ve marked it down as service was very relaxed and perhaps a little slow for those heading to the theatre, it left us rushing out of the restaurant at 7.20- luckily didn’t have far to go!! My advice would be if you are doing the pre-theatre menu here leave plenty of time, as this isn’t a quick eat! Food was so delicious and lovely surroundings.

Having been a regular in the bar for a long time, but never dining, we booked here for lunch on Sunday, not knowing they had a Sunday roast offering. The roast beef was delicious, meat cooked exactly as I asked (pink). The roasts come with unlimited vegetables, potatoes, cauliflower cheese and gravy, which is a great touch. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, as well as the wine offering by the glass. the 2/3 course Sunday offering I think also is extremely well priced (2 courses is £26 from memory). I would happily dine here again.

A lovely ‘ hidden gem’ tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly and theatre land.

One of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had in a long time. The service was way below standard. In particular there was, who I am assuming to be, a supervisor or manager (who I will refer to as "server 1") who seemed to view us a nothing more than an inconvenience. I had to fight to get her attention and when I asked her if I could give her our order she simply replied that she had to put another order through and walked off. Eventually another lady came to take our order (server 2) and she was more helpful. At this point, all we had was a glass of water, which we finished so we had nothing to eat or drink. Eventually our drinks arrived then our food. The food was nice but not what I would consider to be outstanding. Nobody checked back to see if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks etc. We finished our meals and the empty plates and glasses sat there for some time. Finally managed to get somebodys attention to come clear the table (server 2) she cleared our table and could clearly sense that something was wrong and we explained that we wasn't happy with the service. She was very apologetic and explained that they were very busy. We had intended on staying for dessert and more drinks but we were so unhappy by this stage we just asked for the bill. After some time Server 1 came over, dumped the bill on out table and simply said "I've taken the service charge off" and walked off, no apology, no acknowledgement at all of the poor experience we had just had, nothing at all. The restaurant was only half full and the staff failed to achieve even the most basic level of service, this was compounded by the attitude of server 1 who seemed to think that the whole thing was way beneath her and clearly did not care at all about customer service. I live and work mostly abroad in Asia but I am from London, I eat out all the time and this is without a doubt one of the worst experiences that I have had in a long time. I am often asked by friends and colleagues visiting London for recommendations on where to go and to eat etc. The only recommendation I would make about this restaurant would be to avoid at all costs. I would be embarrassed to send any of my friends, colleagues or associates there.

We had lunch here between Christmas and New Year. It was relatively quiet but with just enough tables occupied to provide a bit of atmosphere. The service was very good and the lunch was excellent. Overall a very good place to escape the madness of the West End during the sales

Lovely setting, inattentive staff. It seemed there was no one waiter assigned outta le. I had a dry pork chop — no one came by to ask how the food was. Sides were missing… felt like a lot of work (patience) to be a customer. Went for a special treat at the holidays. Would not recommend.

The staff seemed overwhelmed and were very inattentive. I have gone to the ham yard for many years and it seems that they have let their standards go.

Second visit - really really lovely, great staff, fantastic food

I booked for the afternoon tea - vegetarian - for my friend's birthday. The hotel is lovely and the service was excellent. The tea, however, at 100 pounds per person was a disgrace. I was very embarrassed as it was an important birthday. The entire tea could have been created for less than 5 pounds. The bread was dry. The fillings meagre and tasteless and the vegan deserts without flavour made of the cheapest ingredients and clearly stored for days. This is NOT a place to go for afternoon tea. The service was superbu but I did not get the impression that the staff are treated with respect from management. There is an air of management arrogance that came out in some staff comments. Please don't take your friends or family here for afternoon tea until the owners recognise that stale white bread, last week's deserts and the cheapest ingredients made well before the date of sale do not a memorable occasion make. A real sense of arrogance...not from the hard working staff, but from management who seem to think that any old thing can be served for 200 pounds just because it is 'high tea' in London. My concern and complaint was met with an arrogant reply.

We came for Christmas drinks and sat outside as a group. The location and atmosphere are lovely, but there was only one waitress and we waited 40 minutes to receive any drinks! Really terrible service and the service charge was put on!

A fantastic space well designed. On arrival were told ‘ I can find a space for you ‘ as if we were a walk in whilst the gentlemen leant against the wall as if he had bette things he could be doing - even though we arrived exactly on time for our reservation. From sitting down took us 1 hour before anything touched our lips. Food good as you’d expect but underwhelming when compared to ‘proper’ London restaurants.

Everything about our experience was brilliant - the service was some of the best we’ve experienced in London in a long time. The food was delicious and a great menu to choose from (including the pork chop special which was something else!). Great setting and ambience too.

Although the whole place was HEAVING on a pre-Christmas Saturday evening (even at 5.15pm) we only had a short wait to be seated. Despite how busy they were we had superb service and great food. The whole buzz of the place was great. Highly recommended.

I love the Ham Yard Hotel but our latest visit was a bit of a shambles. We had to wait 45mins for our table to be ready and were asked to wait at the bar. Given you have to pay a deposit when booking and are only given a 15min grace period as a guest, this doesn’t seem right. Also, since we’d already met at the bar earlier, additional drinking time wasn’t what we needed at that point. When our table was finally ready, it took ages until our order was taken. At the end of the evening, there was an additional item on our bill that we hadn’t ordered. They did take a couple of drinks off the bill as an apology when prompted, but this wasn’t offered as a gesture of goodwill, which is what I would have expected for a restaurant of this standing and price point. The food and ambience were lovely as always, but the service was disappointing this time round.

Great food ( monkfish Wellington & the spinach side were really delicious). The service was disappointing. Took ages for the order to be taken, several items were wrong, the sides ordered were not inputted with our mains so our mains arrived a good 10 minutes before the sides. Overall not very attentive service.

Had Sunday lunch here and can't really fault it staff very friendly and helpful service good. Had roast beef with all the trimmings my only criticism was the roast potatoes could ave been crispier and the horseradish sauce was creme fraiche with a bit of horseradish flavour... chefs interpretation i was told...some things shouldn't be messed with and that's one of them otherwise food was outstanding !

As per previous review this restaurant is lying to people and saying they are booked outside when they actually have booked inside. Either call and confirm before or just avoid.

Great venue with lovely staff and excellent food.

Disappointing I booked this restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner. They had an issue with their booking system that was placing people outside despite having booked inside ( one of the employees told me we were the third ones having the issue). The manager didn't believe me when I said I booked inside and treated us poorly. In the end, he said he "did us a favor" and sat us inside, which wasn't any favor as my reservation clearly said standard sitting and not outside. So after waiting to be sat for a while, we had a medium dinner. Quite a loud place and the food was average, my tortellini fait maison was thick and extremely overpriced as I paid £28 for 10 tortellini. Unfortunately, I found that the place was overpromising and underperforming. I will not go back and I neither recommend this place when there are tons of better restaurants in London.

Love coming here staff are always pleasant and friendly and the food is very good. My friends portion of lobster risotto was a bit small but my lamb dish was superb.

Unfortunately the set menu was not available on a Sunday afternoon which wasn’t clear anywhere when we booked. Of the 3 Sunday roast choices only one was available. The food was excellent just not the value and choice we were expecting.

Great little spot behind Piccadilly Circus . Amazing staff with great service. The food was nice the menu for dinner was nice and easy to choose from. There’s a pre-Theatre and à la carte menu not overexpress served with a smile would definitely recommend going. Also a desert trolley with some beautiful cakes

Celebrated my birthday here, nice restaurant and ambiance. Food was okay, but in general good experience.

Came for a late lunch with a friend. We had the set menu which was reasonably priced and included a glass of champagne. Good menu choices available and the food was delicious. Firmdale restaurants always consistently produce good food! Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff were efficient and attentive. We weren’t rushed off the table. Recommend.

It’s always a delight to bring friends who’ve never been before as it’s such a nice surprise when you turn the corner into Ham Yard. The decor is exceptional, the staff could not be more helpful and the food was delicious. Not the cheapest place to lunch but we thought it was worth the price.

The venue was great with lovely ambience; our waiter was attentive and the service overall was excellent. The food was fabulous; we ordered from the set menu and everyone enjoyed their dishes. We would definitely go back there again!

Excellent service - by people who were happy to be there. The food is first class - very tasty and also good sized portions (though, as always, more veg would help!). Even the coffee is good. The atmosphere is great too - not loud, but energetic and inviting.

My friends and I were wandering around Soho on the hunt for cake/tea after having lunch elsewhere. After a bit of aimless wandering and looking on Google Maps to see what was nearby, we decided to venture into Ham Yard Hotel, figuring it would likely be a chilled escape from the crowds. We weren’t wrong! We had a friendly greeting and were seated in the restaurant near the courtyard. Lovely comfy sofa seating and our waiter was super polite and friendly. Prices were a little steep but to be expected from a London hotel restaurant and the great service along with the lovely tea and treats made it all worth it. We’ve decided this will be our ‘go-to’ place next time we meet up in the area!

金曜日の夜だったので、カジュアルなエリアは混んでいてザワザワしていたが、スクリーンを隔てた奥のエリアは静かで落ち着いた雰囲気で食事ができた。 料理の量は年寄りには少し多く、味は良いだけに、もしスモールポーションの選択肢があればもっと良かったと思う。

Came to celebrate my partners birthday before seeing Les Mis and service / food / value were excellent. Even surprised us with a birthday dessert. Lovely experience. Will dine again especially before a show.

Great place for a meal with a special person. Area is out of the way so traffic noise isnt an issue. Overall design of the place is great and really comes alive during evenings. Food is deffo top for sure 😁

This was the best experience we have had dinning in London. We chose to have high tea. This was our second time having high tea in London. The first time was at Kensington. That was the worst experience. Since I love high tea. I could not leave London without a great high tea experience. This restaurant and waiter out did themselves. Not only was it gorgeous but delicious. I had gluten free and my kids had standard. Our waiter was amazing. Had such a fun personality. The food was amazing and never felt rushed or that we needed to hurry. Next time I am in London I will be eating here.

I was a bit anxious about timing based on some previous reviews. Plus We were running 30 mins late for our reservation time , but when I called to say we were running late was assured no problem- our table would be saved. Once sat down in the lovely courtyard we let our waiter know we had less than an hour to make our Moulin Rouge seats. He reassured us we should be fine to order 2 courses and He made sure everything was prompt without feeling rushed . The food was divine! A perfect pre theater dinner .
