Golden Lion in City of London, Westminster

Came here with my family for a lunch, service, food and atmosphere were top tier! Will be returning soon.

Good old pub the staff were friendly and the flat iron steak with merlot beef dripping gravy delicious.

We had a great time here Friday night, good tunes, reasonably priced drinks for the area, good gin selection and a surprisingly good house red. Staff were friendly and helpful, the guy with tattoos, in particular, was super lovely. Helped me with gin recommendations and generally had a laugh with him.

Great pub in soho with loads of character. Bar staff were lovely and super helpful with the menu and picking a beer.

Had a great evening last night there. The guy with rainbow landyard was so helpful. Good range of food and drinks. Relax and fun atmosphere.

Delicious and fresh fish and chips! That’s what I came for and was not disappointed.

Warning: Bad attitude barman. I ordered 2 Guinness’s and 2 Large Sauvignon Blanc Wines. The cost was £35. Not a small amount of money for one round of 4 drinks. The barman (Alfonso tattoo) served the wines in warm half pint glasses. I said to him that this wasn’t right, and he asked me what glass I’d like it in. I replied a wine glass and he said that they’d run out and that it wasn’t his fault. He was the type of person that had his say and then I went to reply he ‘conveniently’ had to serve someone else and then each time came back to me, said something stupid and disappeared again. Very childish. Unable to manage a dispute between adults resorting to hiding behind supposedly needing to serve other customers. His attitude was very poor. Considering that there are 10 pubs in a 5-minute walk, I’d not go there. The worst thing is that I doubt he even understands why.

Nice cosy pub, staff were friendly. Table cleaned for us. Huge disappointment was the toilets, literally a pool of urine across the floor.

Well worth a visit to the Golden Lion in Soho. Nice place to have a quiet drink.

Great pub in the heart of Soho. Had the Chicken BLT and a pint of Greene King IPA for lunch. Good portion, tasty sandwich, got my 'no mayo' order right. Pleased with an unexpected fresh rocket/ tomato side salad. Football on TVs but not too oppressive. Friendly staff.

Proper English quaint, intimate pub. Great location, great atmosphere. Very welcoming feel to it. Food was amazing and service. Highly recommend. Would definitely return. Lovely pint of local ale to.

Authentic pub, great if you are a football fan. Went in at about 1.30pm on a weekday, ordered the award winning (all pubs seem to claim such) pie and a pint of Guinness. The stout was cold, and the food warm. locals seem to go there, always a good sign. Quiet on a weekday, nice place to enjoy a meal. The meal cost me £22.

We've been here several times when we viait London, because it's a good place. We've never eaten there, so we can't comment on the food, but the beers are good, and the wines are nice, and the staff are friendly too

While passing through London one weekend, we stopped here for a drink. A very nice welcome. The bartender very friendly despite the language barrier. Very good beers. We recommend.

Stopped after a morning of shopping. Great bar service and cocktails. Loved the ambiance and also “off the beaten path feeling in SoHo!” Look forward to returning for food/drink next visit.

Good place to watch the football and not too rowdy for the north London Derby. Halloumi flat bread was delicious.

I just like this pub a lot, unpretentious and comfortable. Good beer and plenty of screens showing sport. Has a nice upstairs room with football on too.

FACOURITE pub in soho to work during the day AND PARTY at night. Quality ales, lovely staff and service. Manager always makes you feel welcome and appreciates your business during these hard times for working people. To top it off; they show the football. Would recommend to friends and family as something for everyone. A+++++++

Good place but against all the good reviews here I found the staffs bit sad cold and unsmiling.

Can you give less than 1 star? The food was awful and the staff didn't care at all. No ales. Toilets grim.

Excellent selection of beers available and friendly staff however the toilets are downstairs and are quite small. Personally, being in Soho, I was approached and asked if I wanted to do something that was an immediate no no and the reason for rushing out of the pub. If you're straight, I'd highly recommend that you take a friend down to the toilets with you to not have this happen to yourself as it did to me.

Water leaked from the ceiling onto me and my friends and the staff just acted like it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t care

I've been there for Wimbledon, I've also asked the guy if was possible to have the sound on and he said yes. Small pub in a busy area, but definitely nice hospitality.

We visited this pub today - first and last time. Lovely pub, staff are helpful but price is outrageous - £12.05 for a coke and a pint of camden hells. I know it’s soho but come on, that’s outrageous!

Whether you’re looking for a place to grab a drink or food, this is a great option. Located in a vibrant area, catch a corner view from a table upstairs. Friendly staff, easy ordering and the food was really good.

I felt like a pub type lunch , so this place wasn't busy went in. The pub itself has a great traditional feel about it , a great range of beer and the staff very welcoming. Unfortunately the salad I ordered was dismal. A main course salad that fit on a side plate and cost £13.50 !!..bad enough but it was a few leaves with some vinaigrette type dressing..nothing else ! I'd go back for a beer but never order food here again ..

The bartender upstairs got a bad attitude. We just want to have a better seat to watch the football game. He keeps telling us that we can’t seat in the table for 4, and can only seat beside the ladies restroom, even though there are 2 ladies just finished and left that 4 seats table.

Love this place. If you're into cars, planes, or even if you aren't, and got kids, there really is something for everyone.

This is my pub of choice when I'm in London and stay in the West End area. Small but cosy with great beers and sports on their multiple screens. Great pub

Traditional London pub. Good choice of beers, inc. real ale. Didn’t eat here but I had a pint of Abbot & it was reasonably priced by London standards. Would visit again.

A brewery with an English atmosphere, like many others

Called in on our way to Euston after a wonderful weekend in the city this pub is a little gem just off Leicester Square The service we received was first class ,staff and landlord were very welcoming I will recommend the place to everyone and will definitely be be calling back soon

Great spot in central Soho. Atmosphere was on point and a cool selection of drinks, the charming Jay behind the bar helped me try something new. I didn’t try the food but it looked great coming out. Highly recommend!

We love this pub in the heart of Soho. Always a genuine friendly welcome and attentive staff who seem very stable as the same faces are usually there. Almost unheard of in London! It is a sports bar and has a lovely atmosphere during a sporting event, but equally nice when it’s quiet or in the upstairs lounge. It is always clean and tidy with a very attractive and well maintained bar area.

Good selection of beers and wines. Good buzz with a mixture of local workers, pre-theatre, sports fans and weekend revellers. I think it’s the only sports pub in Soho. Immaculately clean. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Great little pub in the middle of London. Even better it has Abbot on draugh. Good service and the food, steak pie, was excellent. We ate in the late afternoon and the pub has a pleasant buzz of workers and tourists. We visit London quite frequently so this is a good pub to remember.

First off, it's a traditional pub with your average bar, seating area, and beers. But that's the kind I like. A good traditional pub where you can imagine the msny generations of londoners and tourists before you. As a nice extra note, the bar tender gave us a free Guinness to share as they'd accidentally poured one for a different customer. That was a nice touch. I'd certainly go back.

Went in there on a Tuesday night in Feb. Almost all the beers on tap were off. I was given the last pint of IPA and it was horrible. The management don't know how to run a pub. The staff were perfectly nice but frustrated.

7.10£ a pint. A waste of time coming here . Service with no smile. An awful experience and I only had one beer . I defy anyone to disagree. Badly done for a pub in UK.

Stopped off for a quick pint walking through London, staff could be a bit friendlier but good selection of beer including Beavertons Neck Oil

Banging food and great atmosphere . Football and rugby on screens and just a good bunch inside watching Fish and chips were first class crunchy batter and beautiful flaky white fish The Katsu chicken was equally impressive

Nice boozer for the west end. Upstairs can be a haven but can also get noisy. Never eaten in there but drinks kept well

A fantastic pub in the heart of soho that remains one of the most authentic pubs in the area. The staff are welcoming, clearly well led by the landlord who runs a great pub. Always a great pint and a great crowd of people. If you’re in the area - give it a visit.
