Great spot to have breakfast before going to see Big Ben or after.

The staff didn’t even let us in 30 minutes before the close. What’s the point of saying that you work until 5pm, if you actually close at 4:30ish and don’t let the guests in

My wife and I had a very nice dinner here. We got the salmon and the rump steak. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive as well.

We were so delighted to come across this restaurant. They had a table immediately available and we really enjoyed our server and the others who accompanied her. The host and some other staff of this restaurant were also delightful to chat with when we first arrived and when we were leaving. The food was top-notch deliciousness-- I got the grilled pumpkin salad and added chicken to it. Hubby got the chicken schnitzel. We're so excited to have found this place so centrally located that we will definitely be back on our next trip to London! 💞

Enjoyed the whole time throughout our dinner on Tuesday. The food is really amazing and the team members are really friendly. The service was excellent. The welcome lady at the door was very engaging and made sure we were taken good care. We are definitely coming for a Sunday Roast. Can we come without reservation today evening??

We came to the restaurant through a friend's recommendation on Wednesday afternoon when we were sent back by the host very rudely. We came again today afternoon to see if we can get a dining experience this time and it was the same woman with the same rude and racist attitude. We don't speak english well as we are outsiders and we were not welcomed at all. We understand the restaurant can be busy but this behaviour really lowered our expectations once again. We are not coming back again.

Tea room atmosphere. We were made very welcome, the service was super fast! The drinks are comforting and the dishes on the menu are very good!

Really good food and great service. It feels a little like a DC secret spot and like maybe you shouldn’t be there - worth it!

Ordered starter and main course. Starter: Seared Scallop The scallop smell and taste good but the texture is a little bit chewy, it was slightly overcooked to me. The condiment to go with the scallop which are apples, celeriac, bacon and balsamic vinegar does pair well with the dish. Main course: Games Pot Pie The crust was crispy, is not bad but nothing special. The taste, texture and fragrance is there still worth a try. Service: I get a feeling that they would not like to serve foreigners. The attitude treating the locals and foreigners are different. I can feel that the service team look down on us as they think that foreigners dont speak good English or so. But still there was a waiter who served me apologised to me as his English is not that good too.😐 And the hostess after the door doesnt like smiling maybe she had a bad day.

I like the place, quality of food was good, but presentation of the plates and portions, were not that good. It is over priced.

GREAT SERVICE FROM ROHIT Came here for dinner. We ordered the Smoked Salmon (starter), Rump Steak, Game Pot Pie, and Roast Cod. Food was top-notch but what made our experience memorable was the attentive service from Rohit. He was eager to please and to top it off, we were comped desserts! Thank you again Rohit!

Our breakfast was outstanding before heading to Westminster Abbey. The service was top-notch and the staff extremely friendly and courteous.

Our waiter only spoke with the man at our table when letting us know there was an issue in the kitchen and our food was taking longer than expected and then acted shocked when a woman paid. I ordered the chicken pot pie and found about an inch and a half long bone. Atmosphere was great though.

Paid 100$ just for a few coffees. Server seemed displeased even though we were just a quiet trio, my parents and I. Didn’t try the food since they advertise ice cream, but they actually don’t have it. Vibes inside are cool. Way too overpriced.

Amazing place! I love how it’s styled, the atmosphere is great. The food was very good. I also appreciated excellent customer service. I was in a rush, and although this a type of place where you’d normally take your time and enjoy the experience, the waitress and cook were very accommodating and prepared my brunch very quickly. I was only sorry that I couldn’t spend more time in there. Definitely hope to visit again:)

Nice food, if a little on the pricey side for what you get

Was walking from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey arounf the lunch period and found this quaint restaurant nearby. When I walked in, all the tables were full but as a solo traveller, they found space at the bar. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a lemon drink and found the quality of the dish to be exquisite. The waitstaff were knowledgeable enough to inform me that due to the nature of the dish, there would be a 20 minute wait, which is fair, and exactly 20 minutes after ordering, out came and incredible pie with amazing side salad. Huge props to the chef, wait staff and front of house for accomodating me as a walk-in patron and high quality of food and drinks on offer!

Such a cozy cafe. Excellent food, something for everyone! The chopped salad is to die for!! Service is excellent here. Most definitely a lovely spot for lunch.

The food was good, the coffee was amazing, the waitress were attentive and helped me charged my phone. So nice of them. Btw, this is the first meal I had without looking at my phone due to it was charging at front desk, such a wired feeling but also realized that we really need to move away from the phone and enjoy what is at front of us - a great meal.

The first time we went here we had a traditional breakfast and the young lad waiting on us was very pleasant and accommodating. Due to this we returned during a 2nd London visit. However, the staff were different this time round and upon asking if we could swap my wife’s tomatoes for extra mushrooms (she doesn’t like tomatoes) we were told that they can remove the tomatoes, but the price stays the same and you can’t have extra mushrooms. How difficult would it have been to throw a few more mushrooms on in lieu of the tomatoes she doesn’t like? Staff unwilling to budge so were given no tip and have lost 2 customers. Never returning.

What a charming venue hidden away in Westminster. Really fresh well cooked food and stylish venue - a brasserie feel. Perfect after an event in unherd upstairs (private club). Lots of politicians go as near to the House of Commons. Delightful and reasonable prices.

This cafe is amazing. The best place just right next to the St James park for brunch. In addition to the items in their menue they have banana bread which comes with cherry jam and it is delicious. Really delicious.

Best breakfast in London! Walked over from Westminster Abbey before our tour. Delicious English breakfast with sausage, eggs, beans, and toast. Service was excellent. Charming upscale decor. Hidden dining gem.

We ate a late brunch here and it was fantastic. I had the salt beef Benedict and an espresso martini; both were divine! My wife had their take on a full English and also loved it! Would definitely recommend and try again!

L’atmosphère conviviale et détendue du café est parfaite pour un repas dominical. Le personnel est accueillant et attentif. En somme on a bien manger dans une ambiance sympathique.

I came here for lunch with my wife on the off chance without booking. No problem at all, Sir Very welcome. Unlike far too many London restaurants these days, this one has really comfortable seating and no horrible music. That's a good start as far as I'm concerned interesting lunch menu; a bit different from the norm. These dishes were delicious: Cheddar cheese croquettes (pre-starter) Salt beef hash and fried egg (main) Chicken schnitzel and fried egg (main) Marvellous! BUT The bread (£6.00!!!) was stale. I don't mean a week old, but certainly not baked in-house on the day. I thought it was just me but my wife said the same. Also I do think they should offer a soup option as starter; can't be too difficult, surely? We didn't have dessert because nothing really appealed, which is unusual for me. Have a look at menu on website before going to see if you agree. Overall we really enjoyed what we had. Would we go back? Possibly...to try breakfast...if the bread is freshly made en casa (unlikely)

We came here for breakfast after attending church at Westminster Abbey and visiting the Churchill War Museum. It is well situated to both. We had a good breakfast, but I was surprised at the surcharge for jam, and the value is not as good as say the Regency Cafe, but it is a very different atmosphere.

Delightful place. I had the steak and it was delicious! Service was also impeccable.

A good martini and decent service can make up for a lot but sadly, at least for me, the meal was a let down. If you’re going to use the word truffle in a dish description, the dish should probably have some truffle flavour at the very least. Truffle aside, the dish was generally disappointing (eggs Benedict). For many reason I would have recommended this place but sadly the meal was not worth it and I sent it back. Go for a drink, maybe the setting but I won’t be going back for the food sadly.

There was not anything that I disliked about this restaurant. The food and service were both very good. They had a variety of unique menu options without having items that were overly ambitious. It is very much a "small pub" environment with a wide-open seating configuration. The size and seating arrangement made the restaurant very loud, so it was difficult to hold a conversation with the one person I was sitting with. I would recommend it for the food. If it is busy, you should just expect to spend more time eating versus engaging in meaningful dialog unless you want to yell at each other.

Really great food, was not expecting it so near touristy areas. I had tuna tartare and husband had chicken pot pie so yummy, the salads and sauces were exceptional. The fries were the best I have ever had.

A very pretty building, tastefully decorated for Christmas, just around the corner from Westminster. It was about 2/3 full when we had breakfast one morning, but it wasn't too loud or busy at all, and the staff were attentive. The food and coffees were perfectly edible, although nothing special, and I would recommend for business meals.

Un petit restaurant où l’on a commandé des Fish and chips qui étaient délicieux avec une sauce complètement différente de celle servie habituellement. Au niveau des desserts le crumble rhubarbe était copieux et excellent. Par contre la mousse au chocolat servie en petite quantité. Le service a été rapide et agréable.

It's a nice place where the food takes forever. It is unnecessarily expensive although they have delicious banana bread. They are helpful although they make little effort to make themselves understood when they see that they are tourists with a basic level of English. If you speak the language well, it's nice, if not, you'll be in trouble.

A lovely breakfast, beautifully cooked and presented eggs florentine. Filter coffee went cold quite quickly in the dinky carafes. Attentive staff though had to wait at reception a while for a booked table. Little glitches in otherwise a good service.

Stepping into The Old Street Cafe is like finding a hidden gem in the heart of London. Very nice place with good food. Cozy and not expensive considering high quality food and a lovely environment. However, portions could be bigger. Perfect for a midday escape. Escape from touristy low quality places and try this nice place with good British cuisine.

Food was lovely but tad expensive. The wait staff were so lovely, really friendly but the hostess, sadly, was not. Tables are very close together so music a bit louder would help drown out others conversations, and thats coming from some who is usually saying the music is too loud.

This was a great place for a late breakfast after touring the Winston Churchill War Rooms.

Restaurant in a strategic location in the Westminster area, a beautiful area without shops, where the Old Queen Street Cafe is an excellent refuge even for tourists. The restaurant is intimate and well-furnished, the dishes are simple and well-executed. Prices are adequate for the area. Reservation required.

I arranged a large group booking (20+ people) at the Old Queen Street Cafe and couldn’t have been happier with how the evening went. This was entirely down the staff, from reception to the waiter to management. They made every accommodation to ensure each guest in our party enjoyed their experience. An incredible team! Particular praise to Monica and Joseph. The food was outstanding, as was the atmosphere of the dining room. Whether you’re dining solo, as a couple or small group or a large party, you’ll be treated with great care and attention at the Old Queen Street Cafe.

Staff were welcoming and seats were good, but service was slow and food for brunch was underwhelming and overpriced.

We discovered this café restaurant by chance, and we were not disappointed by the atmosphere, the decor and the welcome.

I’m happy with everything that’s going on in this restaurant. From the people to the food served. We had breakfast before leaving for the airport and they were tasty! Do make reservations before going, wait time without reservations can be 45 min to 1 hour long during peak.

Do not go to this place!! water came after 15 mins.. 45 minutes passed and food is not on the table yet.. How bad can a restaurant be? Leaving without paying is not an option anymore because someone should compensate for my time!

Called in for a coffee. I had a flat white, my wife a latte daughter the peanut butter smoothie. The coffees whilst they tasted ok were lukewarm both I and my wife like a hot coffee. Also I have had larger espresso? Cups seemed a little small? Perhaps as it’s not a specialist coffee house? (Which I try to avoid, soulless) The peanut butter smoothie was really good I have been informed. Service was good although a check back would have resolved the coffee issue. I would return and possibly ask for a hotter drink? Setting was good. Place was spotless Dual use toilets is never great, in my experience women don’t want to share a toilet with men. But it seems the way places are going? Possibly eat here next time as the bfast looked good but we had eaten prior. Overall good, lost a point for the coffee temp.

Chicken schnitzel was amazing and a lovely girl on the front desk

Location and setting are great. However, interactions with the staff weren’t great. For example when we asked if there was a kids menu we were just told “no” and there was no help or suggestions offered on what we should do for our kids. It felt like we were being told the kids aren’t particularly welcome. We were also reminded to leave our table on time several times, once would have been fine. And in the end we were asked to leave 5 minutes early because the next booking had arrived, even though we were still finishing off our drinks.

This is a rather posh pub with good food and a nice atmosphere, but it was disappointing that they didn’t have any draft beer at all - only bottles.

Food was OK. Staff reasonable. Service not worth 12.5% . Food not worth what was charged. Toilets were an absolute disgrace. We always think if that's the bit they let you see then whats the kitchen like? Advised staff member of toilet situation. Took comments on board reluctantly in my view. Still charged 12.5% discretionary service charge which, bring british, I just paid. Won't go back there and wouldn't recommend

Excellent breakfast for our first morning in London. Food was delicious, staff was great, and the restaurant was lovely. Hidden gem tucked away in a small street right near the Abbey.

Absolute perfection. Simple but delicious menu where every dish appealed. Friendly and efficient service. Refined yet unassuming decor and ambience. Not necessarily cheap but prices are fair value, particularly given the location.

We visited the restaurant a month or so ago after a morning cycle into London and had a fabulous breakfast of Eggs Florentine. We returned for Mother’s Day brunch with our youngest daughter. My coffee was lovely, the Full OQS Veggie breakfast was quite dry, not very filling and one of the poached eggs was accompanied by its eggshell. My husband’s Eggs Benedict was tasty but not hot. My daughter loved her Bakewell Brioche and Berry smoothie. I left a bit disappointed, compared to my first visit and not feeling comfortably full.

Really nice private room for a work lunch. Great service, welcoming dining room with fireplace. Food wise, the highlight was the lamb "croquette" as a starter.

Just popped in for a coffee and drinks for the kids. My daughter's smoothie came out hot! We sent it back and rather than make another as the waitress said they would, the hot smoothie was just poured onto a heap of ice in the same size glass resulting in far less product and a still semi warm smoothie coming back out.

An absolute hidden gem just around the corner from Westminster Abbey and right next to St. James Patk. Decided to stop here for lunch after walking around this area. The place was busy and we didn’t have a reservation but they had a table and we sat down quickly. I ordered the fish and chips and it was the best I had my entire time in London!! The fish was delicate and crispy. The peas were pureed and yummy. It comes with a sort of deconstructed tartar sauce. So good!! The service was lovely as well. Would recommend!!!

I like it, but the acoustics are bad. It's always very noisy.

As a local I have been to the OQS Cafe a number of times. It’s been steadily declining in terms of food quality and service but today took the biscuit at £53 inclusive of a 13.5% service charge. We arrived. Went in search of the person in charge of seating. It was relatively busy but not not full, with adequate staff. We asked if we could order quickly and offered to sit at the bar to save the waitress setting up an unset table. Our drinks came 40 minutes after being seated, including having to ask to be given water, the barman couldn’t work the coffee machine, and after several clarifications of which juice I had ordered, it didn’t turn up until I asked (again). No idea why the food also took some long given it was clear that most items were pre cooked. The food came, was cold and not fresh, undercooked tiny portion of scrambled egg and stale toast. The waitress was polite and positive throughout but it was plainly apparent sitting at the bar that frankly the staff were struggling with processing orders and clearing up, and were simply inexperienced. That’s understandable and is often now the case post pandemic, but at the prices on the menu neither the service or cookery were up to much.
