Excellent pie for lunch. Pleasant and swift service. But, oh boy, the noise. Low ceiling makes for a massive resonance and a post-meal headache.

I made a reservation and visited. It's the perfect location to stop by and have a meal after seeing the London Eye and Big Ben! Although it is introduced as a brunch restaurant on Google Maps, it is also a great restaurant for dinner. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice, the food was delicious, and it came out on time and in order. Our server, Grace, took great care of us and was very lovely.

We stopped by this charming café just before closing on a Friday evening, and were greeted with such warm and welcoming hospitality by Joseph. The atmosphere was incredibly inviting, complemented by soothing music that created the perfect backdrop. The hot chocolate was hands down the best I've ever had, and with such a great menu, this place is definitely on my list to revisit whenever I'm in the area!

Upscale option of London. Had the traditional English breakfast that was tasty and a good portion.

Tucked away but well worth looking out. Nice welcome and good service from a varied menu and reasonably priced drinks list. We treated ourselves to three courses, Champagne and wine so the price we paid was, I guess, over the average but well worth it for such an enjoyable afternoon. Clean, bright and comfortable.

The truth is that we went to this cafe by chance because we were walking from Buckingham Palace. And I liked it a lot. I ordered a sandwich that included everything that an English Breakfast has and it was very good. I also ordered a hot chocolate and it tasted very good. A little expensive but I assume it's the area. I recommend it

Some members of dinner party food was served up cold and when we politely asked for it to be cooked properly - the response was disappointing. Sometimes things go wrong but if you are paying for a group meal and food has to be sent back while others in the party are finishing their dinner you could at least show some empathy that our meal was ruined. We had gone out to dinner together for a reason, if we wanted a quick snack we would have gone elsewhere.

What an amazing place First of all, I'd like talk about the frindly Samantha. She is the one who will welcome you when you arrive at the cafe. She is so lovely and kind. Then, I'd like to talk about the food. It's amazing. Me and my sister ordered Welsh Rerebit and the dish was delicious. The place is cozy and we felt very happy there. I think this cafe is a must-visit in London.

Their mushroom pie was sooo good! The service is amazing. The staff is lovely. The atmosphere is also very nice - cozy.

I ate Schnitzel I am sorry but it was really strange, dry and hard. I had to eat again in another place to get full. You have to wait long. The atmosphere was nice but it wasn’t worth to eat a bad lunch.

Fell into the Old Queen Street cafe looking for lunch after seeing Westminster Abbey. I got the duck terrine with toast and the game pot pie and my wife had the chicken schnitzel with the fried egg. Everything was delicious.

We had Brunch in this restaurant, one of the best we have tried in London. Everything was great!

The waiters are totally racist, the reception attendant was very good to us but their waiters did not pay much attention to us as most of our order vegetarian

We had the opportunity to have our Christmas party at this place, I was horrified by the service. We were asked to submit our food preferences beforehand, probably around 2 weeks prior. Immediately I was told my preferences couldn't be honoured. So I had to go and opt for an alternative. None of the party received their starters or the starters arrived after the mains had been served. The staff then started the ask the party what they wanted as each dish came out, it was a free for all. Had it been my decision I would have walked out and found another place. They placeholder names were not written correctly, even though everyone had submitted their meal preferences well before the event. Food was mediocre at best, I would never visit this place ever again. So be warned, anyone opting for their Christmas gathering, avoid this place, and if booked cancel at the first opportunity. Save yourself from the disappointment.

It is amazing place a little bit a side from very main street. My food was delicious, maybe spinach could be less sour but overall incredible experience,. It is a pity I do not have two stomacks😁 I would try everything here. The stuff is very caring and nice. Highly recommended!

The best Eggs Benedict I had! The service was good, nice and quiet.

Had a well-cooked large-portion full English breakfast in the cafe. The mushroom is juicy and the poached egg is well boiled. The whole dish is slightly too savory though. Will not recommend the Chai latte as it is quite pale in flavour.

My wife and I had a very nice dinner here. We got the salmon and the rump steak. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive as well.

We were so delighted to come across this restaurant. They had a table immediately available and we really enjoyed our server and the others who accompanied her. The host and some other staff of this restaurant were also delightful to chat with when we first arrived and when we were leaving. The food was top-notch deliciousness-- I got the grilled pumpkin salad and added chicken to it. Hubby got the chicken schnitzel. We're so excited to have found this place so centrally located that we will definitely be back on our next trip to London! 💞

Enjoyed the whole time throughout our dinner on Tuesday. The food is really amazing and the team members are really friendly. The service was excellent. We came to the restaurant through a friend's recommendation on Wednesday afternoon when we were sent back by the host very rudely. We came again today afternoon to see if we can get a dining experience this time and it was the same woman with the same rude and racist attitude. We don't speak english well as we are outsiders and we were not welcomed at all. We understand the restaurant can be busy but this behaviour really lowered our expectations once again. We are not coming back again.

Tea room atmosphere. We were made very welcome, the service was super fast! The drinks are comforting and the dishes on the menu are very good!

Ordered starter and main course. Starter: Seared Scallop The scallop smell and taste good but the texture is a little bit chewy, it was slightly overcooked to me. The condiment to go with the scallop which are apples, celeriac, bacon and balsamic vinegar does pair well with the dish. Main course: Games Pot Pie The crust was crispy, is not bad but nothing special. The taste, texture and fragrance is there still worth a try. Service: I get a feeling that they would not like to serve foreigners. The attitude treating the locals and foreigners are different. I can feel that the service team look down on us as they think that foreigners dont speak good English or so. But still there was a waiter who served me apologised to me as his English is not that good too.😐 And the hostess after the door doesnt like smiling maybe she had a bad day.

I like the place, quality of food was good, but presentation of the plates and portions, were not that good. It is over priced.

GREAT SERVICE FROM ROHIT Came here for dinner. We ordered the Smoked Salmon (starter), Rump Steak, Game Pot Pie, and Roast Cod. Food was top-notch but what made our experience memorable was the attentive service from Rohit. He was eager to please and to top it off, we were comped desserts! Thank you again Rohit!

Our waiter only spoke with the man at our table when letting us know there was an issue in the kitchen and our food was taking longer than expected and then acted shocked when a woman paid. I ordered the chicken pot pie and found about an inch and a half long bone. Atmosphere was great though.

Paid 100$ just for a few coffees. Server seemed displeased even though we were just a quiet trio, my parents and I. Didn’t try the food since they advertise ice cream, but they actually don’t have it. Vibes inside are cool. Way too overpriced.

Amazing place! I love how it’s styled, the atmosphere is great. The food was very good. I also appreciated excellent customer service. I was in a rush, and although this a type of place where you’d normally take your time and enjoy the experience, the waitress and cook were very accommodating and prepared my brunch very quickly. I was only sorry that I couldn’t spend more time in there. Definitely hope to visit again:)

Was walking from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey arounf the lunch period and found this quaint restaurant nearby. When I walked in, all the tables were full but as a solo traveller, they found space at the bar. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a lemon drink and found the quality of the dish to be exquisite. The waitstaff were knowledgeable enough to inform me that due to the nature of the dish, there would be a 20 minute wait, which is fair, and exactly 20 minutes after ordering, out came and incredible pie with amazing side salad. Huge props to the chef, wait staff and front of house for accomodating me as a walk-in patron and high quality of food and drinks on offer!

The food was good, the coffee was amazing, the waitress were attentive and helped me charged my phone. So nice of them. Btw, this is the first meal I had without looking at my phone due to it was charging at front desk, such a wired feeling but also realized that we really need to move away from the phone and enjoy what is at front of us - a great meal.

The first time we went here we had a traditional breakfast and the young lad waiting on us was very pleasant and accommodating. Due to this we returned during a 2nd London visit. However, the staff were different this time round and upon asking if we could swap my wife’s tomatoes for extra mushrooms (she doesn’t like tomatoes) we were told that they can remove the tomatoes, but the price stays the same and you can’t have extra mushrooms. How difficult would it have been to throw a few more mushrooms on in lieu of the tomatoes she doesn’t like? Staff unwilling to budge so were given no tip and have lost 2 customers. Never returning.

What a charming venue hidden away in Westminster. Really fresh well cooked food and stylish venue - a brasserie feel. Perfect after an event in unherd upstairs (private club). Lots of politicians go as near to the House of Commons. Delightful and reasonable prices.

This cafe is amazing. The best place just right next to the St James park for brunch. In addition to the items in their menue they have banana bread which comes with cherry jam and it is delicious. Really delicious.

We ate a late brunch here and it was fantastic. I had the salt beef Benedict and an espresso martini; both were divine! My wife had their take on a full English and also loved it! Would definitely recommend and try again!

L’atmosphère conviviale et détendue du café est parfaite pour un repas dominical. Le personnel est accueillant et attentif. En somme on a bien manger dans une ambiance sympathique.

Very fine toasted banana bread!

I came here for lunch with my wife on the off chance without booking. No problem at all, Sir Very welcome. Unlike far too many London restaurants these days, this one has really comfortable seating and no horrible music. That's a good start as far as I'm concerned interesting lunch menu; a bit different from the norm. These dishes were delicious: Cheddar cheese croquettes (pre-starter) Salt beef hash and fried egg (main) Chicken schnitzel and fried egg (main) Marvellous! BUT The bread (£6.00!!!) was stale. I don't mean a week old, but certainly not baked in-house on the day. I thought it was just me but my wife said the same. Also I do think they should offer a soup option as starter; can't be too difficult, surely? We didn't have dessert because nothing really appealed, which is unusual for me. Have a look at menu on website before going to see if you agree. Overall we really enjoyed what we had. Would we go back? Possibly...to try breakfast...if the bread is freshly made en casa (unlikely)

We came here for breakfast after attending church at Westminster Abbey and visiting the Churchill War Museum. It is well situated to both. We had a good breakfast, but I was surprised at the surcharge for jam, and the value is not as good as say the Regency Cafe, but it is a very different atmosphere.

Delightful place. I had the steak and it was delicious! Service was also impeccable.

A good martini and decent service can make up for a lot but sadly, at least for me, the meal was a let down. If you’re going to use the word truffle in a dish description, the dish should probably have some truffle flavour at the very least. Truffle aside, the dish was generally disappointing (eggs Benedict). For many reason I would have recommended this place but sadly the meal was not worth it and I sent it back. Go for a drink, maybe the setting but I won’t be going back for the food sadly.

There was not anything that I disliked about this restaurant. The food and service were both very good. They had a variety of unique menu options without having items that were overly ambitious. It is very much a "small pub" environment with a wide-open seating configuration. The size and seating arrangement made the restaurant very loud, so it was difficult to hold a conversation with the one person I was sitting with. I would recommend it for the food. If it is busy, you should just expect to spend more time eating versus engaging in meaningful dialog unless you want to yell at each other.

Really great food, was not expecting it so near touristy areas. I had tuna tartare and husband had chicken pot pie so yummy, the salads and sauces were exceptional. The fries were the best I have ever had.

A very pretty building, tastefully decorated for Christmas, just around the corner from Westminster. It was about 2/3 full when we had breakfast one morning, but it wasn't too loud or busy at all, and the staff were attentive. The food and coffees were perfectly edible, although nothing special, and I would recommend for business meals.

Un petit restaurant où l’on a commandé des Fish and chips qui étaient délicieux avec une sauce complètement différente de celle servie habituellement. Au niveau des desserts le crumble rhubarbe était copieux et excellent. Par contre la mousse au chocolat servie en petite quantité. Le service a été rapide et agréable.

It's a nice place where the food takes forever. It is unnecessarily expensive although they have delicious banana bread. They are helpful although they make little effort to make themselves understood when they see that they are tourists with a basic level of English. If you speak the language well, it's nice, if not, you'll be in trouble.

A lovely breakfast, beautifully cooked and presented eggs florentine. Filter coffee went cold quite quickly in the dinky carafes. Attentive staff though had to wait at reception a while for a booked table. Little glitches in otherwise a good service.

Stepping into The Old Street Cafe is like finding a hidden gem in the heart of London. Very nice place with good food. Cozy and not expensive considering high quality food and a lovely environment. However, portions could be bigger. Perfect for a midday escape. Escape from touristy low quality places and try this nice place with good British cuisine.

Excellent services and delicious food. We ordered fish and chips, salt beef hash, chicken schnitzel, apple crumble, and drinks. Every meal we had was wonderful!
