A beautiful building with great acoustics. We went to see the sung Eucharist but even though it was advertised, there was no choir and only a spoke service. The building is beautiful especially the window behind the alter. Worth a visit.

St Martins is a great music venue for non name acts. in the summer, the courtyard puts on free live music, and can be a great place to have a beer and watch a band / singer. They also put on shows indoors, either in the crypt or the main church, usually of a more cultural nature, but not free.

This church does so many things right! Rev. Dr. Sam Wells is a highly regarded theologian with 44 books published. His Worship Services are really great. His sermons connect ancient scriptures with today's Pop Culture, giving fresh insights in a changing world. There are also Worship Services in other languages on Sunday Afternoons. The Crypt Cafe down stairs is a wonderfully used space to help with their mission with the homeless. The food is good and you can enjoy the architecture of the vaulted ceiling! Behind the church is a multi use event center with concerts that can appeal to all generations. We visited in 2012, 2024 and would not consider a visit to London without Worshipping at St. Martin-in-the- Fields, although it has been many generations since the church was 'in the Fields'; it is in Trafalgar Square.

Since the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields is considered one of the best chamber orchestras in the world, there is a lot of expectation for them to deliver an incredible performance. Thankfully, they live up to the “hype”. The performance of Mozart’s Requiem that I attended was a brilliant performance with a warm, candle-lit atmosphere. If you are at all interested in classical music and are in London you should absolutely check out their performance schedule.

We had a big business dinner event here. Although the building and the food are very nice, we sadly experienced two negatives. Due to sitting in an underground cellar, that looks so nice, the echo is terrible. At least, if you want to be able to have a conversation with someone across the table. In addition, the toilets were disgusting. Even for London standards :s

I remember going to the crypt at St Martin in the fields in the 1990s and there was a place that one could get a cup of coffee and something to eat quite cheaply. It did have a rough and ready atmosphere to it despite being beneath the church but that was part of its charm. Unfortunately, like so many places they have upped their game and priced most of us out of the market. I could not possibly afford to eat that anymore the food look nice but the portions were tiny and it was just too expensive. I wonder where young people meet now to drink coffee and chat certainly not here.

My son who is taking music GCSE loves classical music and always surprises me with his knowledge. I bought 2 tickets for the Vivaldi Four Seasons concert, as a surprise for us to attend. I had not been to St Martin's prior and pleased it was so close to the tube station, so 5 stars for location. Yes, it is a church but a beautiful one, steeped in history. I purchased the only tickets left, which were quite far back so we could not see the orchestra at all, perhaps just a grey head or two, in the distance. As it is a church, there I not "stage", it's all on ground level. I wish I had purchased upper balcony tickets as viewing seems obstructed, unless you're in the first 3 or 4 rows. The music was beautiful we loved it. Winter is my son's favourite and I have learned to see why. During the 20 minute interval we bought 2 bags of crisps and 1 can of coke for £9. The most expensive snacks I have ever had the displeasure to pay for. Almost a tenner. No loo roll in the ladies toilet, another disappointment. Considering the Crypt restaurant is such an astounding place to visit and snack, it was sad they could not ensure the toilets were checked, before interval. Loved the music and the experience but the venue management, not so much.

Not about concert itself about the zero welcome. No politeness please or thank you. Just I need the bsr code. When I got upstairs same incipidness. No mention that there were seat cushions either. Is this deliberate because I can no longer afford a decent seat or for everyone. People moved forward anyway. In past times I did buy more expensive seat and still couldnt see so no difference. As more upmarket Cadogan Hall and even Royal Albert are now inclusive and have a warm welcome for Everyone better I go there next time, plus they sometimes even move you forward at no extra cost. Just my opinion of course. Thank you.

It pains me to say this as we as a family have had many pleasurable experiences eating here but our last visit, to celebrate a birthday, was more than disapointing. We went for the fish and chips; by the time we got to sit down the food was cold but worse that that the fish did not taste pleasnt and the batter was so thick as to remain uncooked in places. Nobody on the staff showed any interest at the time and a letter of complaint remains unanswered.

Tinned baked beans now on the menu…Also they now have quite loud pop music as well which doesn’t really fit the setting - at least that is not to our taste. The church above is famous for its classical music! So we decided not even to stop for a coffee - I hope they get back to the standard that was before. It’s such a shame.,
