Huge and super peculiar, with a lot of different environments. Ideal to go alone or in a group

Awful experience! Doormen rude! Wouldn’t let me and my friend in purely because we had a drink in our hand which contained water! Manager could give no reason either for not letting us in other than he approved of the doorman’s decision! Patronising and absolutely no reason to refuse us entry! Avoid as very rude! Much better places to visit!

But of a let down not the pub it self but the staff not very friendly when asking question and did not have a foot ball match that we were looking to watch and we were told by phone we would be able to watch so we did not stay .

This place is truly stunning! Right out of a fantasy movie with fascinating woodwork and a lot of cozy corners. With drinks, life music and an amazing location one of my favorite places to visit on our trip to London.

Worth the Wait on St. Patrick’s Day! Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at Waxy O’Connor’s was an unforgettable experience! The queue was long, but totally worth it—once inside, the atmosphere was electric. Live music, a lively crowd, and plenty of entertainment made for an incredible night. The pub itself is stunning, with its unique wooden interior and maze-like layout. And, of course, the beer selection was top-notch—perfect for toasting to Ireland

Whitnessed an appalling act of discrimination at the door of waxys where the security staff would not let a Down syndrome man of 40 years of age into the premises. The group of 12 that was with me walked away when we came across this. Never again will I cross the threshold of this pub after witnessing what I just did.

Huge Irish pub, mainly at a lower basement level. Good selection of beers and drinks. One for the lads/lasses really rather than a romantic drink!

Authentic multi-level pub dominated by wood in the decoration. It has TVs everywhere for matches and good beer.

What an interesting pub this is! Recommend to visit anyone who wants a special experience from London. Its close to Piccadilly Circus and the place is amazing. Great beer, great speciality food which tastes great and amazing atmosphere.

Food: we didn't do it here so can't say anything about it. You come in and think this is it, but then you keep walking and you can go down about 4 floors. Great atmosphere, good staff and friendly.

One of, if not the coolest bar in London. Amazing interior design and after more than several visits, I still see something new every time. Where I had my first decent pint of Guinness as well. Not had the food yet but it’s always looked delicious and I’ve heard great things

A lively pub in the heart of London. There are several areas with TVs and live music. I recommend it for those looking for a lively atmosphere. However, be aware that depending on the time of day it may be difficult to find a place to sit.

Waxy O’Connor’s is stunning! The woodwork, stained glass, and massive tree in the middle make it feel like a mix between a Gothic church and a cozy Irish pub. It has such a unique atmosphere - like stepping into another world. Just soaking it all in with a drink in hand. Waxy’s is one of those places where you can completely lose yourself in the vibe. Loved, loved, loved the pub! I will definitely go back again.

Really cool bar but when I went (Ireland v England in the rugby) the crowd that was in it was far too big. There was no where to stand, impossible to get a drink and had to leave as it was to much. On a normal day I'm sure it would be a cool place to visit so will try again another time

This place is a Byzantine labyrinth. It just crawls up and down, left and right. There are service bars everywhere. Watch your head, there are some low spots. You can usually find a quiet corner for conversation. They stay open later than most places. The rent on beer is a bit steep, but not out of line for Soho.

Popped in for a quick drink. Very expensive and the glasses were filthy! Basic bar hygiene needs to improve

Stepping through the unassuming door is like entering an Irish labyrinth, you never know which quirky nook or secret staircase will lead you to one of the many bars! The awesome tree standing proud in the middle of it all, as if it’s been around long enough to know all the best pub secrets. Sure, you might get lost amidst the maze of levels and hidden rooms, but that’s all part of the charm. Cheers to a pub that’s as full of surprises as it is full of spirit!

Bad experience. Door man thought he was the star in Road House, super aggressive to some French guys who wanted to watcg rugby. Review your CCTV. Guinness was awful, glass very dirty.

Very nice atmosphere in this pub made up of an indefinite number of rooms, on the edge of a labyrinth 😁 From the outside it doesn't look any bigger than the others but once inside, wow! And what about the decor, including a tree!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Waxy O’Connors in London, and I want to highlight three incredible staff members who made the evening unforgettable: Charles, the security guard, Alice, the bartender, and Cindy, the supervisor. From the moment I arrived, Charles was professional, courteous, and made me feel welcome and safe. His calm demeanor and friendly attitude set the tone for the entire evening. Alice, the bartender, was nothing short of phenomenal. Her skill, speed, and charm behind the bar were impressive, and she went above and beyond to make sure every drink was perfect. She genuinely cares about her craft and the guests she serves. Cindy, the supervisor, was the glue holding everything together. Her leadership and attention to detail were evident throughout the night. She ensured the bar ran smoothly while also making time to check in on guests, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This team is truly exceptional, and their hard work and dedication deserve recognition. They went above and beyond to make the night special, and I hope management sees what valuable assets they have in Charles, Alice, and Cindy. They deserve all the appreciation and, frankly, a raise for their outstanding

Did not expect to find such a large pub in this area with nice celtic decorations. The fish and chips was not bad, tasted fresh and went well with the cider we had.

The bouncer was quite rude for no reason whatsoever. He mistreated my girlfriend and gave us attitude both when we went inside and came out. We're usuals to waxy's but this changed our perception of the place.

The beer was very expensive (7.5£ per pint) and from the entrance I had a bad experience with the security guy, since he was rude and arrogant with me and the people who were there for no reason. Inside the staff (Church bar) attended a little badly and as if he was asking for a gift. I wouldn't go back, I had high expectations about this pub. Although I really liked the place.

Let me start by saying i got the shock of my life when i realised just how huge the place was! Endless spaces and tables in a pub that resembles a cave structure where the more you move inside the building the more you feel lost in beer land 😂. Fantastic looking pub. Superb atmosphere and great variety of beers! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting London. Just be aware of the time you choose to visit the place, because many Londoners go there to have a few pints after work and it gets pretty crowded.

We didn’t eat anything here only went for the music and feeling the atmosphere of a place for live music. It was amazing. The music was nice and we had an experience of a local pub. Definitely a place to be experienced🤩

Great Pub with phenomenal atmosphere. You may lose your way back to your table, but keep on finding new corners and hidden gems. The staff is nice and there is Livemusic every day. @alexwestsinger did an amazing job and really made the night. Only quite negative aspect are the prices. It's definitely the most expensive Guinness we had, while traveling, but I still think it's totally worth it. The menu is well picked and typically pub-like.

Amazing find just off Leicester Square. Walked past a beautiful door and curiosity got the better of me! I'm so glad it did. This was Sunday 1st December and instead of finding a candle shop (due to the name lol) I found the most beautiful Irish pub. Huge but cosy and intimate. Great music, the best roast beef dinner I've eaten out and warming atmosphere. Returned to London yesterday (Tuesday 7th January) and headed straight for Waxy's! No roasts available so opted for my favourite Katsu curry. I always order chicken but was again curios by their cauliflower version. My curiosity once again did not disappoint! The most delicious Katsu curry I have ever eaten! Thank you Waxy's, I know I can always rely on you for a warm welcome and hearty food when I'm visiting London 😊 xx

Great pub! Always come back. The smell could be a little better and the tables less sticky but the rest is great.

Lots of nice nooks and crannies; alcoves

This place has the most ridiculous rule and a doorman who enforces it in a dumb way. One of our party brought a Pannetone as a present but struggled to get in because "no food is allowed". No one is going to open a 1kg pannetone and eat it in the bar! You better train your staff properly... There are many better pubs in the area.

This is one of the most unique pubs in London. The atmosphere is fantastic, but it tends to get very crowded. Be aware that their large glass of wine is more like a medium size.

I bought a pint of Moretti and half a pint of Aspalls here last night. The bar tender didn't show me the card price but kept it high so I asked how much it was as this was slightly odd. He then just said yep a pint of lager and half a pint of cider to confirm, and I thought since it's so busy and he must have not been showing the price by mistake, I paid for it. Since there was no signal, I only got the price pop up on my phone as I'd left shortly after. He had over charged me of £26.94. Absolutely done on purpose, overcharged my by over £16 trying to take advantage of what he assumed was a 'drunk young female. Disgusted and probably not going to get my money back.

It became one of my favorite pubs in London. It was a very interesting place to spend time in the heart of Soho, with its labyrinth-like plan and decorations. Even though it was quite crowded, we were able to find a place at a table, even as a guest. We had a very pleasant evening with the crowd accompanying live music.

Went here for some post theatre drinks. Vibrant and friendly. Beer and wine great at reasonable price.
