The best restaurants serving British food in London

Arrived at 11.20 for brunch. It’s been refurbished since we last went and has lost its farm feel and the farm shop is minuscule. We’re asked if we wanted to sit outside or in - replied outside and we’re told to take any table we wanted. Couldn’t find a free table outside so we’re then showed to a table inside. Given menus etc. waited 5 mins for someone to take our order. When she arrived she said they’d stopped serving breakfast, it stopped at 11.30. It was 11.33. We asked if the kitchen would still serve us as we had arrived before 11,30. She went away and came back and said no. Pizzas only. We left. Absolute joke. Won’t be going back.

Extremely rude young waitress was very rude and agressive towards my elderly mother with early dementia, who had simply just asked for a receipt. I am completely and utterly disgusted with this person's behaviour. I will be leaving bad reviews everywhere until it's dealt with. There is no excuse to speak to an elderly and vulnerable person like that. I'm furious

This cafe used to be a nice place to pop in for a coffee or a meal. I popped in for the first since December 2019, I used to go fairly regularly. What a disappointment. Service was poor, staff didn't know what "half" meant but was fully ready to charge me for a pint and did so with no apology. Returned to my table to tell me that the chef had just started cooking for the day and the squid that I had ordered wasn't available and that I should come to the bar for refund. I wasn't offered an apology and when I asked whether it might be considerate to offer me an alternative, she looked at me like I was weird and yes she would do so but " you need to get a refund first". Upon receiving my refund another member of staff ( the manger I think) asked if I wanted anything else, I declined and explained that my vibe had been broken and he wasn't particularly bothered as to why. Three issues with my order, charged for a pint, when I clearly asked for a half. Rough staff service and less than considerate customer care. As I have said, I have been to this establishment many times so I feel that I am in a position to judge. I given a two star rating because the chips I eat there didn't give me stomach ache...

This restaurant is terrible its gross under cooked beat roots i mean just horrible would not recommend this to anybody

Just had a medium Cod which was cooked to perfection and skin removed which I don't mind either way. They do what looks like a very nice pie & mash Wed thru Sat and must go back to give this a try. Great staff and a great experience as always.

Ordered a small chicken doner over uber eats for £15. I would not even have paid £3 for what came. It was a few small pieces of chicken chucked into a tiny pita bread. It would even be small for a child portion. Ridiculous for the price.

I wanted to like this place so much but the quality of the food was very low. The menu had ambitions beyond the apparent ability of the kitchen.

Las costillas eran increíbles... patatas fritas frescas y maíz precioso en la mazorca. Precios decentes y personal encantador El menú no es enorme pero tiene algo para todos, así como porciones más pequeñas

Absolutamente disgustado por estas personas. He estado comiendo en este lugar durante tres décadas. Hoy fui muy educado ya que cuatro veces sacaron la comida equivocada. Entonces la dama idiota que me estaba sirviendo me dijo que saliera ya que no querían mi tipo de costumbre. Ese fue el punto cuando perdí la paciencia y comencé una escena ruidosa frente a todos sus clientes. Un trabajo desagradable y nunca volveré a poner un pie allí.

Llevamos décadas yendo a la tienda de comestibles pero creo que esta vez fue la última. Recogí el almuerzo, quería lavarme las manos antes y me dijeron con aire que tenía que ir al pub local ya que no tienen instalaciones. Sé con certeza que tienen baños en el lugar, así que ¿por qué enviar a la gente a otro lugar, no puede molestarse en pagar por la limpieza? Bonito para el pub local también!

Un poco caro y no esperar un poco más para llenar la barriga por el efectivo tenía que parte con. Podría haber sido un poco más generosos con la salsa - un poco va un largo camino:) Todo estaba caliente (y sabroso), así que no puedo quejarme de eso. Quizás era tan bueno que me quedé decepcionado con la cantidad!

Bouncer tried to fight my boyfriend (18) and verbally abused me (also 18). He threatened to hit my boyfriend if he got out of our cab because we were wearing tracksuit bottom trousers. They used their job and “power” to let a dog into the pub but excused their threats to a young adult 3x as young as them.

I really like the idea of this, nice drinks and cakes while painting away. It is on the expensive side though, and a bit packed.

Definitivamente no recomendaría comer aquí en absoluto. El huevo y la salchicha apenas se cocinaron. El champiñón goteó en grasa que escurrí en una servilleta. El tocino sabía muy raro. La señora mayor en el mostrador no parecía estar con él en absoluto. Sin sonrisa, sin asistencia, sin favor o gracias Así no es como solía ser este café
