We had a family birthday Afternoon Tea celebration here. After a 5 min wait? We were shown to our central table. All we had to decide which menu (Vegan and Vegetarian also available) and tea or coffee. I opted for Tandoori Chai - Big mistake as it was weak and tasteless. The savories were canapes not miniatures. Cold sandwiches were OK. The wraps were cold and a big disappointment. The hot Bombay sandwich was very good and we asked for seconds. The cakes were all nice but nothing special. The scones arrived after a delay but were hot and hit the mark. The service was attentive and the hostesses were greatOverall a good gift experience that was let down by being aimed at European palates rather than UK Indians.

Went for my daughter's 18th birthday. They knew it was her birthday - the person on the reception desk asked, as I had put it on the booking form, but no treat appeared. When the bill arrived I mentioned it was her birthday and the waiter did nothing. On the way out I mentioned it to the lady on reception and she asked if I wanted to take it home. That wasn't the point. So, I spent over £300 and went away feeling bitterly disappointed. It tainted what should gave been a lovely celebration. I would not go to The Grove for a meal again.

Loads of local regular customers make for a lovely authentic atmosphere. The menu choice is so good I could have eaten it all. My chum had the stake and ale pie which looked delicious. I had the veggie quiche and chips which were SO good and the ale was a bargain. Cant wait to return in the summer and sit in the garden!

We had a family lunch at The Stag. The menu had a lot of variety and there was something for everyone. The food was excellent and there was also a nice selection of drinks. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again.

What a lovely experience at The Boot at Sarratt. From the moment we opened the door to the pub/restaurant until the time we left, we were made to feel special and welcome. The food, drink and service were all excellent and the environment is a quintessential British Pub at its best. Extensive lunchtime menu, plus a specials board and the mini lunches, which are perfect for that time of day. Dog friendly area near the bar and the common opposite made it a lovely day out. Many thanks to Zoe who was a ray of sunshine and provided such good service and personality.
