What a night. Me and the boys went down to our local Harvester for a last minute meal....result. Not only did we walk in like VIPs and get a lovely table in the restaurant, but the banter was flowing as much as the Stellas. Tanya was on point for the entire meal and made it an extremely pleasant experience. For a measly £14 I managed to get my hands on the Dirty Burger (one of the dirtiest I have ever had may I add ), a nice plate of triple cooked chips, and a delicious crunchy slaw! Absolutely Pukka! Did all the usual checks; toilets clean as a whistle and salad bar COVID compliant but the real stand out thing tonight was our amazing waitress, Tanya. Big ups Tanya.

Booked a table for 6pm, or so I thought...In fact, I'd booked the Garston branch a few miles away - my mistake.Realised as we entered the building what I'd done and explained this to Jack who immediately offered us a table and to telephone Garston to cancel my booking with them. Very decent as it was a 50% off night and very busy.The waiter Christopher handled all our requirements and food swap requests well.The food was good. Steak cooked how my husband prefers and both meals served hot.Only slight minus was that there were a few children who thought they were in a playground, not a restaurant; not being supervised by the adults with them. Not Harvester's fault!

I have been to this restaurant before with work colleagues and suggested to my husband that we go for our first meal out in a long time. We were shown to a table (we had made a reservation) , given menus and that was it! We were not asked if we would like a drink. We watched as the table next to us was cleared , we waited as two members of staff had a lovely chat at the desk. We waited for more than 20 minutes and were not even approached during that time. We left.

Most shocking service at Harvesters Croxley Green ever had in a restaurant. The Manager LEWIS was rude, inconsiderate and down right aggressive. Decided to ban us because we asked for details of head office to make a complaint. For what exactly?? Because I wasn’t happy with the food and service. What stuns me is this is the person responsible of leading the team!Poor waitress was really trying to help but manager was disinterested and disrespectful. Harvester needs to take a very close look at its leadership. Won’t be eating here again, not that I’ll be allowed to anyway apparently!

The manager, Lewis, at this branch was aggressive, rude and arrogant. When trying to amicably resolve an issue and provide some fair feedback, he was unwilling to listen. He wasn’t prepared to look for any resolution and when we asked fairly and reasonably how to make a complaint he told us we were barred (why he thinks we would ever want to return is beyond me?!?). He then began to raise his voice in front if other customers to claim we were threatening him, trying to smear our characters - all for asking how we go about making a complaint? It’s a shame, this restaurant could be a really nice place to eat out. However, from today’s experience and other reviews I’ve now seen, the management here is clearly in need of training! However, I would like to add the waitress that served us was lovely and polite and tried all she could to help us. Her service was very good. She would make a far better and competent manager.

Went to have a nice quiet meal with my boyfriend tonight. The place was empty so should be speedy service. It wasnt the waiting for the food that was the issue it was waiting for the staff to stop chatting and get off their phones to come and ask us for food . The foul language coming from the staff gathering by the kitchen for all customers to hear was disgraceful . On top of this the main meals were cold and not edible. When making a formal complaint to the manager he didnt have a care in the world standing with is hands in pockets not knowing how to resolve the issuesWill defo not be going back here again!!! Has put us off all harvesters in general

After getting a reply from the management about refunding the fine as we ate there, they flatly refused when we went back there and the car park is nothing to do with them, so we were lied to. They suggested going direct to the car park company for a refund but you can imagine how that went.We also discovered that the terminal to enter your reg was hidden behind the Xmas tree. We will never again visit the Harvester or anyone else as the staff are basically liars. PS. the food is rubbish as well.

We hadn't been to this Harvester for over a year because our last visit had been disappointing.This visit was much better. The parking was a lot easier and signing your car reg in was clearly signposted.The service was excellent! The choice of menu was good and tasty. We all enjoyed our meal and will return again soon.

After speaking to friends and family about the disappointment of the North Watford branch we decided to visit this brach after such high praise from multiple friends. From the moment we entered we felt very very uncomfortable and unwelcome in the building , we was greeted in a cold manor by one of your employees (a young dark haired girl). We chose to ignore her attitude as we didn’t want to spoil our family outing. We ordered drinks in which she took our order in a couldn't care less attitude , the drinks took forever to come wouldn’t of minded but the place was hardly buzzing as you expect. The food took forever to come as well with the food being sent back multiple times and still coming out wrong , the girl who was serving us couldn’t seem to care less and we kept on receiving her vile attitude. After all these problems and the clearly RUDE staff you choose to employ we will not be returning until the brach improves the staff and the service.

After contacting Harvester about this charge, apparently the device for inputting your reg. no. was hidden behind the Xmas tree, the manager said provide proof of purchase and they would refund the money. Went in and then told they cannot give a refund and should go directly to the car park company. What a waste of time, they never give refunds, even if you are dead. So the manager and staff are liars. Shall never use this dump ever again.

I booked a table for 6 for Christmas Lunch and paid a deposit of £60.They cancelled my booking and was told that they would return my deposit.In January I rang to ask as to why I had not received my deposit, they said someone made a mistake telling us that we can have our deposit back! ReallyI think this was unfair and absolutely appaling. This is how they treat the elderly and disabled customers!

Went for lunch but spoilt by getting a car parking fine. Will never go again. Nobody warned me to enter my car reg. to avoid a fine, or any easy sign, unlike the Toby Carvery in Bushey which has a large poster at the entrance, and the reservation desk waiter tells you to enter your reg. no.Rang restaurant who said nothing they can do about it, in other words get stuffed. Shall not be going there ever again.

4 of went there on tvs offchance, it was not to busy, we got a table straight away, had drinks, but, every few minutes a waitress would come over Are you ready to order. Literally every 5 minutes, it was getting annoying. It’s only 7..30 so no rush, well the food was shall we say, sub standard, the burgers were coldush and tasteless, chips soggy, and apologies fir a salad, there prized Tractor chicken pink in the middle, all sent back and returned NUKED in tvs microwave, more drinks and coffee, I could see the Manager checking his watch, it’s now 9..15 I ask for more coffee which I’m given, and the bill is brought over, I ask, I did not request a bill but am told we are closing now, can’t be bothered having an argument so paid and would never come back again. Sub standard rating

I cannot fault the attention the deputy manager and our designated waitress gave us following a family funeral. We had reserved the small alcove at the rear and as soon as we arrived, our coats were taken, we were offered the drinks menu and told to take our time in choosing our meals, Everything went very smoothly indeed - all our meals were served at the same time. Not an easy task when over 20 people are choosing different things from an extensive menu.

As a family we have visited this harvester on numerous occasions and have always had a enjoyable experience,until now.Myself & my brother in law have just received £85 parking fines 2 weeks after our visit for apparently parking our vehicles for longer than the maximum time allowed.In total our group of 6 which included 3 children where in the restuarant for under 2 hours! This is a outrage & will be the last time we go to any harvester If this is how you are treated for enjoying yourselves with your family.

Whilst the food and service was fine as usual. I was astounded when 4 weeks later I received a parking charge through the post as apparently ' the vehicle was parked longer than the maximum period allowed'. We were parked from 15.48 to 17.37 - 1 hour and 49 minutes for a three course meal for 4 on a busy Sunday afternoon! With no intention of paying the fine, I contacted both the restaurant and head office to no avail. Finally, nearly a week later, I first received an email from the General Manager, Liam Johnson trying to say it was my fault for not entering my car reg in the parking terminal (I Had btw), he had not bothered to call me as I had requested to discuss and ascertain the details of the charge and when I replied requesting a phone call, received another email the following day stating that the charge had been cancelled. Fabulously bad customer service from a Company that used to pride itself on excellent customer service. An apology wouldnt go amiss. Why does this company associate itself with cowboy parking firms?

Went to Croxley Harvester on 8th August. Spent a large amount of money on a family party of 11. I have been on holiday from 27th August to 9th Sept. Arrive back to find a private parking ticket from some arbitrary parking firm for £85 which would be discounted to £50 if paid for by today. Apparently you are supposed to enter your car number somewhere. Though early some of our guest were already there so distracted did not a enter number. No mention by staff greeting us of the need to enter a number.

We came here for a family meal with some relatives and the service was excellent. The food was similar to always and we mostly had burgers and fish and chips but everyone enjoyed their food. I appreciate the food is not haute cuisine but it's always a good solid beer for a decent meal with friends and family.

Booked here for a quick bite to eat after long road trip south. Excellent service which started before we even arrived. Late arriving at hotel so called ahead to move booking, not a problem accommodated without any fuss. Also arrived 7m late (gotta love sat nav!!) again not an issue, seated immediately, offered drinks and given time to order (personnel pet peeve of mine being rushed to order!!) Our server Sacha was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble, a credit to her supervisor and the whole team. Food was perfectly cooked, kitchen obviously busy but standards clearly maintained, could not fault any of the meals we ordered (full rack of ribs, '83 combo's) would definitely return.

We have just visited this place and the food was terrible! Not one thing was edible, roast Chicken awful, even the flake in the ice-cream was stale. We will never go to a harvester again.The kids meal consisted of two black sausages white lumpy mash and a squashed Yorkshire pudding, disgusting!!!!! Don't order the onion rings there burnt and you can't bite into them......

Server was very friendly and helpful, was quick service. Had the food been nice it would have been five stars. Unfortunately the fillet steaks (medium) were so burnt on the outside it was like eating a piece of charcoal. Picture is of mine, my wife’s was twice as bad and she managed about a 3rd of it. Server did apologise but it’s not his fault. Is a shame as everything else was good. (Apart from a warm beer but this was replaced immediately so can’t fault that).

My sister & I visited for lunch, haven’t been in quite awhile. Standards have definitely dropped. Waited to get a table nobody came until I popped my head round to where chefs in kitchen were chatting away, & they called the waitress. (Appeared to be the only one on lunchtime service, with the Manager & one other guy I believe) service very slow, meal ok. Salad bar needs revamping too, bread rolls quite hard not fresh! Hygiene left a lot to be desired & toilets out of action on Restaurant side. Pub side toilets were dire, stench awful! Whole place needs a good clean & revamp.

Free parking and easy access to the premises, unlimited salad but small selection when buying a full meal. The question is when you have a full meal, how much salad will you eat? We ordered steaks, fillet steaks- the meat was good but the portions small. The rice not fresh. The sauces to pay for? The service was efficient but not friendly. Ate, paid, left- would not recommend or return.

My, what an improvement on this Harvester compared to a few months ago when I last visited! It would appear that it is under new management and my what a difference - the whole atmosphere is more welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent and we did not have to wait very long either. I cannot believe the difference that has been made to this restaurant. We cannot wait to visit again. The waiter concerned (and not English) joked with my little daughter (who is 5) and she thoroughly enjoyed it as did us adults!! I certainly take my "hat" off to everybody right down to the Manager.

It has been some time since my previous trip to a Harvester, and I was pleasantly surprised with the new look menu (including vegan and vegetarian options), the friendly atmosphere and the clean environment. Though it is never likely to provide a gourmet experience the Harvester is good at what it does provide: plentiful portions of nicely presented meals at an excellent price. The self-service salad bar is always enjoyable with a decent variety on offer and constantly replenished. There is a good choice of mains, cooked as you request, followed by huge desserts if desired. The latter are rather too sugary for my personal taste, but will certainly hit the mark for those with a sweet tooth and for children. The restaurant is highly suitable for families. Service is speedy and our waitress was very friendly, chatty and down to earth. There are special price offers that help to keep the cost low, although even without these the price would still represent good value. An enjoyable experience.

Upon arrival the bar man was very frosty, no greeting, no welcome, ordered our drinks and we were having a (private) conversation about good places to eat when he chips in with his personal recommendation and emphasised how great the customer service was-the irony of his own poor customer skills obviously lost on him! This place is weary and tired, ladies toilets were filthy, one toilet was out of order as it was flooded, or so it appeared as there was no signage just a ‘wet floor’ sign in a puddle of dirty water.

Visited this restaurant recently with my husband and son and found it to have improved greatly. The staff were happy and looked like they enjoyed their job, the food was well cooked. My Daughter booked for us to go to The Harvester, Croxley Green on Sunday 2nd December at 3pm. It was to celebrate my Dad’s 90th Birthday. There were 13 of us, we were placed in the middle of the restaurant where the tables had been pushed together. I had the Christmas dinner, you can’t just order that on it’s own you have to either have two courses or three, so I opted for the Christmas pudding for desert. The service was okay, was quiet at my time of visit, but the food was rubbish, I don’t think the kitchen is much to blame more the harvester itself, it just looked and tasted like a cheap dry microwave meal, no quality whatsoever, same with the pudding. I had a better Christmas meal in Wetherspoons the week before, wish I’d gone elsewhere.

We have visited Harvest for a few times already. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They have the app too for a discount on the weekdays and a loyalty card which makes to come back even more often. My husband had a chicken stack which was very very good! I am a bit disappointed with my meal. I had chicken combo which comes with a half rack of ribs. Both chicken and ribs have no taste so you have to pour gravy or other sauce all over the dish... but portions are very good size, worth for the price. Plus you can have unlimited salad with every main dish! Oh I loved your beetroot salad! Definitely we will be back.

Decided to have a lovely meal out for 5 family members... to be taken to a table for 4!? New table requested.... greata got seated but then had to wait to be served a drink for 15 minutes.... even the people who were seated at our original table were served before we were.... we had to ask eventually for our order to be taken. We prdered drinks and food together in the end. Upon receiving our meals a cold plate was requested for a child's meal that was served on a plate so hot it would burn an adult! Eventually after getting up and chasing for it 10 minutes later we got a "warm" plate. Lack or service we can pnly put down to lack of staff and staff who actually pay attention. Wont be visiting again any time soon which is a shame as the food was really good when we eventually got it!!

I haven’t visited for a while as I moved further away but took a friend to lunch and this was her choice. I knew they had updated their menu and this was a good move as for someone who doesn’t eat meat and is mainly vegetarian the former menu was a bit restrictive. I was pleased to find they now have a good vegetarian/vegan section so I tried the spinach emmental roulade and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had garlic butter prawns as a starter and again, very tasty. My friend had potato shells as a starter which arrived piping hot and she said they were delicious. She had gammon with egg and chips for her main but found the gammon steak a bit tough (however you have to take into account the fact that she has false teeth so perhaps this wasn’t a wise choice!) The complementary salad bar was excellent. They have always had a good selection which is topped up regularly, particularly when the restaurant is busy - which it always is on a Saturday. We didn’t want a dessert or coffee. Our total bill was £33 including soft drinks. The waitress was a lady who’s been working there for many years and is always friendly and efficient. All in all a lovely lunch and I will be going back again.

Lots of cigarette butts and rubbish in the rear outdoor seating area and not a bin or ashtray in sight. Even in this hot weather the staff can't be bothered to put the parasols up .... they leave them at the back door so you can self-serve! A lot of tlc is required for this venue. I'm sure if the place was cleaned up and staff took an interest it would encourage more customers to come. The parking situation is a joke too ... you have to register your car on arrival otherwise you get a hefty parking ticket! Also, the men's toilets have been out of action for weeks now ... why? It would appear that the management and staff are doing all within their power to put people off coming here ... including us. What a shame!

I went there with my son,daughter in law and granddaughter on Sunday 1st July put in my car reg on pad in the pub.Came home from work today to find a £50 fine I'm absolutely furious tried phoning the Harvester but can't get anyone to talk I'm certainly not paying this and won't be going there again.Plus my granddaughters food was disgusting I sent it back the waitress said lots of people had complained about this dish and she agreed it was awful and that it should not be on the menu

We ate here on 11th June for a large birthday meal out - everyhing was ok but we then later received a parking fine despite accurately entering our registration numbers into the keypad. When I called the restaurant they offered to help cancel it and I thought nothing of it until I spoke to my father in law who had also had a parking fine again despite also entering his registration number (I watched him do it to make sure he did it properly).

We went to this establishment at 4pm today 19th May 2018 to celebrate my wife’s birthday with some friends and family 8 of us all together. The place was virtually empty but the staff asked if we had booked and took time to look at bookings and final showed us to the table. We were left for about 20 minutes and finally called a waiter over, they staff were extremely busy chatting to each other.

Giant long straggly Hair found in food at the salad bar and I mentioned to staff who said nothing can be done. Asked whether they could reduce the bill or add free dessert as good gesture for customer service and they refused. Bad manners and bad customer service in my view in regards to this. We would of returned if they were able to compromise but hey ho maybe Miller and carter would of been better after all! This is a no return for us.

Was freezing so asked for the air conditioning to be turned off , everyone in our part of the restaurant were all wearing coats as it was ridiculously cold . This harvester is one of the better ones we have visited. We use it quite regularly if we fancy popping out as it is local. It is always clean, staff are friendly and helpful and generally the food is of a good quality. You get what you pay for, and what you get here is good value.

We had a lovely Mother’s Day lunch here. We were seated at a round table enabling all 8 of us to talk to each other. Rachel our waitress was very helpful and polite. The food was delicious and the salad bar was constantly replenished. The venue was clean and the seats were comfortable. We all had a great time. If I had to make an improvement I would look at the toilets as the cubicles were very small and not very good condition. However this was a small point in an otherwise excellent meal.

We used to go the Harvester in Croxley Green every Friday as it is a short stroll - going back several years ago. It was always so good and food was amazing. What has happened? I've been a few times over the past year hoping it will get better one day as the location is convenient but the staff are rude, unattentive, slow, stand and gossip with a full restaurant and the food is of poor quality. Really is such a shame as this could be/was a really good establishment. prices have risen, quality has fallen.

Stood next to the ‘please wait to be seated’ sign for a good five minutes whilst smiling at waitresses who tried not to make eye contact. I then walked round to the computer where orders are placed and a guy was concentrating so hard he was unable to acknowledge me. However, a passing waitress did say she would be with me in a minute so I returned to the Sign. After another uncomfortable five minutes the phone started to ring and the same waitress came round to answer it and completely ignored me! The height of rudeness - at which point I walked out!!

Very pleasantly surprised with the new menu. Selected the 2 course lunch menu - starter of prawns and seabass for the main course. Nicely presented and well cooked. Having the salad cart and a lager with meal, we found it very satisfying. The deserts looked very tempting, but sadly we were too full to sample them.

Went to the harvester today mums treat, we ordered off the Xmas menu the 2 course meal for £12.99 I think no more than £13 so Mum ordered the sea bass with mash and veg with a prosecco sauce Mum said it was beautiful well cooked piece of fish and then had cheesecake.I had a full rack of ribs and chips which again was all cooked perfectly then followed by a huge Black Forest sundae. The service was fast, polite and friendly and food was good value for money.Just remember if you park in the car park register your reg number on the key pad inside which is so simple and saves u getting a fine.

How can people get this so wrong. A meal for seven friends. we used to go out with our 92 year old neighbour on her birthday, sadly she died, so we decided to continue the tradition.The evening started off badly when a warm bottle of wine was served with the excuse "we have just taken it out of the cellar". A different drier wine was offered but we decided to leave the one we had in the ice bucket and hope for the best. The main meals were fine but the ice cream machine had broken down so half the sweet menu options were missing.To finish the whole event we were frozen as were other diners and was told the heating wasn't working and the fire had gone out. We suggested that the bill be adjusted to reflect all this but it was still presented with an item we had cancelled.We were so cold we made a dash for home to have a coffee and try to get warm.Wont return as a group far too disappointing.

This was never the best Harvester, but it is local and we have used it from time to time. HOWEVER, I would now highly recommend that you do NOT use this establishment due to their parking restrictions that I presume have recently been put in, unless of course you are happy to clock watch all the way through your meal. We were not there for an extensive amount of time, we only had a main course and a dessert and we left. We did not notice that new parking restriction signs had been put up in the car park, nor was there any notice inside the building to advise clientele that time restrictions were in place, needless to say I ended up with a parking fine - I am not at all happy and will not use this restaurant again.

So..... here is an honest review of this place.... (Sunday 12/11/17)Sunday night is 'date night' for me and my girlfriend and we are always looking at trying new places for a nice meal, I always check Trip Advisor just to get a feel for somewhere before we try it. We like a good Harvester so thought we would give this one ago...... read on!......If the majority of the reviews are to be believed this could be a disasterous date night!! I booked a table for 6:30, we arrived just gone 6, walked up to the bar to be greeted by a friendly chap (good start)... we ordered a couple of glasses of wine and asked if we could be seated.... we were shown to our table (table 10 just by the window.... perfect) by a very friendly girl (sorry, didn't clock her name) who gave us some menus and told us to help ourselves to the salad bar which we duly did..... guess what?.... it was lovely and fresh and well stocked.... so far so good.When we were ready to order the girl came strait over to us and took our order in a very professional and friendly way.... superb, the starters came out fairly quickly (chicken wings and crackerjack prawns) and were absolutely superb....... this is getting better we thought.Once we had devoured the starters the mains followed in a good time, we ordered the rack of ribs and the Gammon..... both meals were presented beautifully and tasted as good as they looked..... perfectly cooked ribs and Gammon and superb chips..... well, by now date night is going as good as it usually does, We ordered another couple of glasses of red and continued to enjoy the meal and the surroundings (they have 2 Christmas trees up for god sake...... what's not to love!)Once we had finished eating, drinking and chatting we asked for the bill, again, it was bought over to us quickly and politely..... by now we are a couple of happy date night bunny's wondering why this place is being slated so much.....So, the bill..........£50...... £50 for 2 lovely starters, 2 lovely main meals and 4 glasses of even lovelier red wine...... it's a bloody bargain!So, let's summarise........ Nice place ☑️ Friendly staff ☑️Good food ☑️Good wine ☑️Friendly atmosphere ☑️Value for money ☑️Great for a 'date night' ☑️More than 1 Christmas tree ☑️For all the people who may read some of the reviews and think twice about visiting this Harvester........ I say to you..... My family has visited this restaurant a few times as it is quite local to us. We find it a very kid-friendly place. Staff are friendly and hace always been helpful in ourcexperience.Food is ok, just dont expect cordon bleu. This is more aimed at those seeking a less expensive option.Others have mentioned parking issues. Parking is free but you have to register your licence plate number otherwise you might get a fine. There are notices to this effect at the entrance and in the car park. Staff should ask if youve driven there but they dont always so beware!Recommended for those looking for something cheap and straight forward.
