Went to this lovely pub for a drink tonight with the possibility of getting food, was met by Jazz music coming from the sound system it was bloody awful but apparently they it’s all they play! , I along with most of hate jazz so we left and won’t be going back!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch! The staff were so accommodating for my disabled auntie. Thank you Lucy and the team for such a fabulous Sunday

Sadly, even though we went on a Friday evening it was very quiet. A shame as the drinks were nice and I've heard the food is too. There was quite a strong smell of dog there which was a bit off-putting although I will go there again and maybe try the food next time on a busier evening.

The roast lunch is always amazing here! I was a little disappointed this time as they have taken out the most delicious nutroast and swapped it for a mushroom dish that had caramelised onions which I don’t eat either! So I opted for cauliflower cheese with the roast trimmings, wasn’t quite the same. The service was not so good this time. I asked for English mustard 3 times they bought me French then an empty jar of English then nothing to replace the empty jar. The waitress are very young or I would have complained! Bring back the nutroast!! We drove from north London don’t know if I’ll be coming back.

Been to this pub many time but we went yesterday and it was awful the food was terrible ordered roast beef potatoes were hard gravy was spicy so asked for our meal to be changed which they did and then gave us our bill before we had our meal the waitress rolled our eyes when we complained service was awful never will we go again lack of customer service we had to get our own cutlery and sauces

The most wonderful roast, we have been to every pub in the local area and ‘The Rose and Crown’ is by far the best. Friendly service and the roasts are fantastic. The burger was really good as well.

We arranged my Mother's Wake here, for 50+ people, mainly Family, after her Burial at Woodcock Hill Cemetery. Ellie and the Team did a great job, the Buffet was excellent, good range of drinks, great setting, and excellent service throughout the day. Definitely 5 Stars!

Great lunch spot a stone’s throw from Harefield. Plenty of outdoor seating and lovely views. Staff were excellent , especially Nicky who showed us great customer service.Food was reasonably priced and delicious.Well done all involved. Will definitely return and recommend.

Lovely gardens here ,and food was yummy . Service not very good had to keep getting up and ask for the things I wanted . Pleasant enough place to eat though just think if your paying a service charge you should be served ..

Booked a table for four, on arrival the waitress asked would we like a drink we asked for a few minutes to decide she waited bt the table.hurried us into ordering. When finished dinner, we ordered four more drinks and the pudding menu, of which none arrived.so we asked for the bill only to see they charged for the four drinks, so we had to ask for them to be removed, wife had a Goats cheese salad as did my sister in law, one had tomato one didnt, portion of meat on the roast dinner wouldn't fill a pigeon no apologies, very weird experience. Sean.

Very nice pub. We walked there from Rickmansworth (30min) on afternoon to get some dinner. Because of the nice weather we decided to sit outside (You place your order inside and they will bring you your food). There was a sepcial that day (Buger+Beer for 12Punds) which was very fair in our opinio. Food tasted great and was perfect in size.

We gave this 5 stars a few years ago but today's visit was pretty unsatisfactory. The service was appalling; not checked on for our food,not checked for drinks,had to ask for service multiple times and then asked to hurry up as they needed the table back! If the service wasn't so awful, the table would have been back in time for the next booking. We asked for the bill at the same time as ordering a pudding and then still had to prompt again for it,whilst being told we had to leave as the table was needed back now. This happened on our last visit and we had hoped it was a fluke,but it seems the norm now. Wouldn't recommend, and the quality of the food was average. Plenty of other pubs with just the same quality food but better service and atmosphere.

Love this pub, been coming here for years but really disappointed this time. Food as always was delicious, service good to start with but we had to ask for pudding menus. After waiting 20 minutes nobody came to take our order so we had to go and ask for the bill. We felt like a bit of an inconvenience to be honest. This usually busy restaurant was empty except for us and one other table which shocked us! We'd be really sad to see this pub go to the wall.

We arrived here after trying somewhere else who didn’t have room for two! After a drink in the bar area we headed to our table, we both had the roast beef Sunday lunch and it was fabulous- very tasty and superb gravy. The staff were great hosts and everything ran smoothly. Only thing we would say is on the roasts we could have done with more potatoes and prehaps another carrot other than that delightful! Well done, you took us away from a Brunning & Price chain and we will not be returning there but we will 100% come back to you!

Perfect location for a Sunday roast and a fish and chips. Not normally a fan of mushy peas but they do a fantastic job here. Great space and brilliant garden spot for the summer. Can't wait to be back

Excellent pub with first class food, a friendly welcome and very good value. Highly recommended if you are on the London LOOP (I visited as part of a group walk) but also well worth making a trip for.

This time was very different! The burger I had was cooked perfectly and juicy and soft. Well cooked bacon as I had requested, and the bun was nice and fresh. My wife had the macaroni cheese which was also excellent. Good sized portion for the price, and served with very nice garlic bread. Not sure if it's a different chef from our previous visit, but I hope this quality of food continues, and I now look forward to meeting my friends here next year!

Sent from my iPad Yesterday we visited the pub for a roast. As soon as we walked in the door we heard the manageress tell the chef to f55ck off back into the kitchen. Then we more or less self serviced through the meal. We finally got drinks then asked to order. We waited over an hour and the food finally started to appear. It came in very differing times and no apology for the wait etc. the dinner was awful. Congealed gravy over some awful beef. We requested medium rare and we told we would get it as it came. The whole experience was awful. Really awful. I cleared our table after the food was sat there for 45 mins and then more or less sorted the bill myself. I had such high hopes for this but it was awful from start to finish. Absolutely awful. I felt like removing the service charge but I felt sorry for the kids running around. It reminded me of a pub that’s more for the staff and having to serve customers is a sideline. What a waste of money. It was almost bizarre - I felt like we were in the way ! Such a shame.

A lovely dog friendly pub with excellent food. Hubby had been wanting to go back for one of their steaks (and he even ate the tomatoes!). As it was lunchtime didn't think I'd manage a pudding, but the newly added banoffee pudding was perfect. As always staff were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

What a lovely little pub. We popped in briefly after a walk with two dogs to a very warm welcome. Just got drinks so can’t comment on the food but would expect it to be amazing given everything else!

Really good veggie roast! Roast potatoes and parsnips were a stand out! Sticky toffee pudding very good. Would come again!

We just had the most amazing Christmas lunch ever! Everything served was so tasty the vegetarian option was absolutely wonderful!

The pub is an attractive building, the staff work hard and the ambience good. What let it down was the food which tasted average at best and the portion sizes were poor. My roast beef had 1 roast potato. Chef needs to up their game clearly.

We had a very nice lunch with generous well presented food. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere. Will return soon for dinner.

Great Sunday roast, I had the honey roast gammon & my husband had the roast beef. Home made Yorkshire puds & delicious gravy. The sticky toffee pudding was great too. Excellent & friendly service from our server Florence even though it was busy. Other staff seemed friendly & helpful too. Would recommend.

This beautiful cute pub is what this place is all about !! Friendly cosy pretty and well what can I say about the food !! Best ham egg and chips we have ever had. The staff are very friendly and excellent choice of beers, wines, and spirits. There is a beautiful real fire and is just so cosy that you won’t want to leave. Sunday roasts are just the best around. Definitely a hidden gem in a beautiful setting.

Great country pub with proper log fire to keep you toasty warm. Food quality delicious portions slightly less than expected esp. chicken leg size. Sweet potato mash to drool over.

This small old style pub offers a rewarding eating experience. On entering the pub through the well worn door you are into a warn old style pub interior that is very welcoming. The dining area is comfortable and spotlessly clean and staffed by knowledgeable servers. The menu is adequate with a good selection of starters and main meals as well as a selection for the specials board. The kitchen source good quality ingredients and prepare their dishes with love and care. Not a cook chill in sighting this establishment. My starter of home made Houmus and crudités were nearly a meal in itself. The nocellara olives were good however the kalamata olives were not up to standard and need attention. My main course of butchers cumberland sausages and seasonable vegetables wasvery good. The sausages were full of prime pork and seasoned to perfection. The seasonable vegetables of cauliflower florets, carrots and cabbage was both fresh and cooked with care to al dente slightly crunchy offering. This was accompanied separately with a tasty brown gravy. All delicious and very satisfying. The shepherds pie from the specials board was full of delicious seasoned lamb mince topped by a crusty mashed potatoes topping. The accompanying vegetables and garden peas were as above. All in all a very enjoyable meal in a pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend this establishment and we will definitely return again. If they maintain the high standard it could well become our local bolt hole. It was an affordable delicious lunch well presented.

Lovely pub! Food tasty, meat from the barbecue which is so flavoursome and cooked perfectly. Chips super tasty. Menu for dogs is awesome. There's also plenty of walks around. Big parking, good facilities. Decor inside also nice. There's also space outside to rent if you want to celebrate. And there's little children playground. Lots of outdoor seating. We loved everything about this pub!

Some friends took me there so I could taste an english Sunday roast. It was a great experience, the food was delicious and the place is really nice and cosy. I'm thankful I got to discover this place.

Been driving past this place everything I go to work and finally went there on our dogs birthday. Soon as you leave the car in the lot you are hit with that charcoal grill smell that already gets your taste buds going. Ordered the burger and curry wurst with a wheat beer. For the dog a doggy burger and doggy beer(gravy). The food was cooked to perfection with the smokiness of the grill coming through as well as the wurst. The chip were spectacular, cut into almost like wing shaped making it crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Our dog loved his burger meat to boot. The on tap wheat beer is the best beer I have ever had(and I've had a lot) Beautifully located, the views are also gorgeous. A must visit place for sure.

A pleasant village pub and restaurant in a picturesque setting. Once through the entrance you are greeted with a generous bar with large dining rooms. Three cask ales on offer and the first sampled was just about palatable, the second was ok but not the best conditioned. We ate lunch from a menu with a good selection. Food was good and service also good. This pub is let down by the quality of its cask ale. I think four stars is generous. May be a while before we return.

We booked online for a 6.30pm meal on a bank holiday Monday. We received an email confirmation of the booking confirming all the details. We arrived at 6.20pm to find it closed for the rest of the day. We walked past a member of staff who did not even bother to tell us it was shut. We wondered what this family run pub was like. We will now never know.

Booked a table online for 6.30 on 28th August. Received a confirmation email. Arrived at 6.20 to see customers leaving. They informed us that it was closed so we would not get food. How is it possible to book a table at a pub which is going to be closed. Thank you for that. I am unable to comment on the food or anything.

This is usually one of our favourite local pubs, food and service is always good! Today we enjoyed a roast but the swede was stone cold and the cabbage too hard and chewy to enjoy, as we’ve always had good food at The Rose and Crown we chose not to mention it and thought we all have off days even if we did spend £110 for four of us with no alcohol but then two of our party visited the Ladies toilets and both cubicles had no toilet paper and then no soap at all to wash our hands, soap dispenser had been filled with water so looks as though the pub were aware, not acceptable in any restaurant especially one with a menu with high prices!!!

We had a wonderful birthday celebration ! I came all the way from Portsmouth for a lunch celebration , and after experiencing a torrential rain and an awful journey it was all worth it ! So traditional, well cooked delicious food - divine fish and chips ,rack of ribs , salad and ravioli - all the guests from Brasil very happy

Popped in for some lunch. bar staff very friendly, place was lovely with a big garden. steak was great ,juicy with some nice crust and chips were some of the best I've had. would recommend a visit.

Had fish and chips, for some reason the fish was coated, smothered in salt top and bottom, the chips were not to the usual standard and again smothered in salt. WHY would a pub cook do this????????

The manager Ellie and all her staff, especially Emma are always really lovely and so friendly whenever i visit. They are so accommodating to me and i never feel uncomfortable sitting there by myself or for longer than a typical time, especially when I’m trying to avoid the hospital. The food is always amazing and I have yet to try something i didn’t like, even if i have my preferred favourites. Highly recommend this pub they are amazing!

Third time coming here and each time the service has been slow. Food was shocking once but its a local pub and thought it deserved another go. This time (9/06/2023) my partner and I took our puppy for a spot of dinner. Ordered fish and chips, salad and two fruit ciders. Two fruit ciders came, and we sat in the beer garden awaiting our food. Finished our drinks ordered more and still awaiting our food. After about an hour and seeing people arriving we'll after us getting their food we went up to ask. Their response was the kitchen was busy. Upon further questioning the till had apparently broken. We have however confirmed we were charged and our drinks order which was placed at the same time as our food order had arrived. No manager came to speak with us nor did the person who physically took the order and payment though they had to know the till had crashed. I went to speak with the manager and pulled her to a quiet section of the bar to not cause a scene. I explained my discontent on the situation. She was apologetic until a man dressed in kitchen attire whom also called himself the manager "Glen" told me to have some understanding. I reverted whilst I sympathised with technological errors this order was placed to a person (the bar wasn't busy) and no manager came to address it. I advised my only purpose of speaking with them was to bring this to their attention and advise of the shocking service. As I walked away he remarked he wouldn't want my custom anyway. Needless to say this is absolutely disgusting and I would not recommend. After paying about £70 for food and drink and waiting over an hour for a salad we were out of there within 10 minutes of the food arriving

Had a lovely meal with Mrs, the Beer was perfect, "Torin" one of the head chefs also made my partner a meal that wasn't even advertised on the menu, due to a busy sunny weekend all the vegan food had gone! Really top place and top people!

Great service from the bar team, beer was freezing cold and crisp. food was spectacular, the sciracha chicken and the squid was just to die for; also had a prawn linguine special which was also cooked perfectly. Definitely reccomend and I'll be back shortly!

Waited well over an hour for food . Restaurant virtually empty and hardly anyone eating outside . Was told on ordering the kitchen was closing in ten minutes, so where was the good after an hour ? No apology . We left .

My son highly recommended Sunday lunch here. I had the vegetarian wellington it was absolutely delicious! The trimmings were also very nice everything was not over cooked and the gravy was lovely! We had chocolate brownie for desert which was also very nice. I live in north London and work in Belsize Park we have been to so many pubs for Sunday lunch around Hampstead the rose and crown was much more authentic and home made than the others! Will be coming back again.

We had a nice meal and drinks after enjoying the local walks. Beers garden is lovely and nice family and dog friendly vibe. We mainly had the Sunday roasts. Which were ok. Not amazing. The chips blew it out of the park. Service was ok. Missed some item off our order but it was a very busy bank holiday weekend so can’t be too harsh. Overall a good place to enjoy a rest after the walks on a sunny afternoon

2nd visit to this pub, the meals were just as nice as last time, and the chips are the best I've ever tasted, however my burger (and I can't remember which one I had now) was a little overcooked and dry but still edible, the apple crumble and custard was lovely

We didn't eat here, was passing by and stopped for a drink, such a lovely little pub, people were lovely and the food did look delicious 😋 so we are going back to eat at some time soon

A definite must, if you’re looking for excellent food at a reasonable price. I had one of the specials, which was pan fried salmon, mashed potatoes, broccoli and accompanied with a white sauce, which in itself was sublime, I would have been happy to have that as a creamy fish soup. My wife’s chicken pie was equally delicious and all the food was cooked to perfection and served hot. I had a pint of London Pride with my meal and I have to add, it was as good as the best I have tried of that particular brew. The staff are attentive, helpful and polite and offered relevant advice on all the food and drink available. Archie comes particularly well praised.

Came here with a group of friends in Saturday lunchtime. I had the burger which was ok with well cooked bacon (as requested) and a good bun. Nothing special but an average pub burger. Fish and chips was acceptable but the fish was overcooked and had a hint of curry taste which was strange. And managed to find what looked like uncooked batter in it (which was odd as it was so overcooked and crispy!) Chips were very nice though and plenty of them. Chocolate brownie with ice cream was nice. But the menu didn't say it comes with chocolate sauce so my wife ate most of it. Service was very good even though the staff were all very young. We come here once a year normally to meet up with friends. I probably wouldn't choose to eat here otherwise as the food isn't quite up to standard for the price.

Stopped yesterday after looking for a dog friendly pub to stop at, all the times were wrong. Google stated that it was already open and they served brunch, when we got there, the times on door said it opened at 11, food at 12. We obviously wasn’t getting brunch as we got there after 11 but it wasn’t open, although there was staff inside.

Came here for dinner with a couple of work colleagues. Was a bit noisy in the pub area with lots of kids running around, but we didn't mind. Staff were friendly, service was very efficient and, most importantly, food was exceptionally good; pub grub done extremely well. Would recommend and return!
