Best fish and chips ever!! So, much so I forgot to take a picture for you guys… don’t worry I’ll be back.

The Greene man is my local. Sean’s team are always polite and helpful the food is value for money and the pub itself is in a nice location, perfect for a Sunday roast in the winter or lunch in the sun on a Saturday.

We stopped by on a lovely sunny day on the off chance without a booking. Despite it being very busy as there was a function on, we managed to get a table outside on the terrace and were served promptly at the bar. The staff were very busy but were still very friendly, helpful and efficient. The pub offers a 2 or 3 course lunch deal which is really good value. The prawn cocktail starter was very good but sadly the crispy calamari bites were chewy and not very nice. For mains we had Fish and chips which was delicious! The portions were large and the batter was super crispy, served with delicious skin on fries. I had the Chicken Bacon and avocado salad which was a really good size, very tasty, the meat was warm and the bacon crispy . Perfect ! Service was spot on too. They didn’t drop the ball once even when we needed extras they went out of their way to deliver. Sean and his team were great and we thanked them for their superb service. We indulged in the mini puddings and hot drinks for after which were excellent value. The ‘mini’ puddings were generous sizes and they served pots of tea with them not just single mugs or cups. We tried the mini Bakewell slice which was better than ones we had previously had in Bakewell! I had the mini chocolate fudge brownie , yummy! Dense, dark chocolate, smooth, moist , warm, delicious 😋 served with vanilla ice cream . Highly recommend this pub, lovely interior space , pretty little garden for sunny days, tasty food , great value and wonderful staff .

Stopped by with no booking on a busy lunchtime, there was a function on and it was a sunny day. We were served promptly, staff friendly and helpful. We sat out side and there were lots of free tables. They offer 2 courses for £18.50 and 3 for £23 . We tried the prawn cocktail starter which was very good and the portion was big. The crispy calamari bites were NOT good ! Chewy and not good flavour. However the Fish and. Hips main course was great. Tasty big piece of Fish, tasty sling in chunky chips (not many chips , just enough) . I had the chicken , bacon and avocado salad which was a generous size and served well- the chicken was warm , the bacon crispy and fresh. We opted for mini puddings and hot drinks as our after- even the mini portions were decent sizes . The cappuccino was so-so but the teas were great, large pots not just a single cup. Shaun and his team were really good , went out of their way to sort out an issue with our bill (our fault not theirs) and never dropped the ball once despite being rushed off their feet. All in all a very good visit, we will definitely return

The service was great and there was a fantastic variety of options on the menu. Something for everyone! It might be an idea to offer a set menu offering 2 or 3 courses for a fixed price. It might be helpful to people on a budget.

Hadn’t been here for a few years, glad we came. The food was fantastic, my husband had the lamb shank, said it was the best he’d ever had! The service was very professional and extremely pleasant, shout out to our lovely waitress Scarlett who could not do enough for us without being intrusive. Going forward, we will definitely be making this a regular dining experience

Stopped in with my family for lunch, and unfortunately, it was a frustrating experience from start to finish. We waited ages just to get service, and when I asked the waitress a few basic questions about the food, her attitude screamed, "I don't know, I just work here." Not exactly helpful. I ordered steak, which came out overcooked, and to make matters worse, our meals arrived at different times, so we couldn’t even eat together as a family. The staff were friendly, but it’s clear the pub needs to hire at least two experienced members to properly manage operations. With only three staff in the entire pub, the place felt completely chaotic. Overall, just a shambles of an experience.

Lovely food but we ordered the 'hot drink and mini puddings' and amazingly they came in that order! So we had our main, then (warmish) coffee, then pudding - bizarre. The toilets are very shabby.

Friendly staff, superb food and a nice relaxing atmosphere

The atmosphere is lively and the choice of drinks has improved vastly recently. There is one member of staff in particular who stands out in her welcoming and warm manner and her 'can do' attitude. Scarlet has made us all feel very welcome in an extremely professional manner. An excellent ambassador for Vintage Inns; we will certainly visit more frequently.

Lovely eve celebrating my cousins birthday, food was lovely and service was even better. Shout out to Monique (sorry if that’s not how you spell it) for the cake set up ❤️ Will definitely go back when in the area next

Great spot to relax next to a fireplace with a coffee in winter or have a tasty beverage in sumner. Highly recommended. Really appreciated the service by Michaela and the rest of the team.

A food that can be enjoyed and elicits moans of pleasure. and then, last but not least, the warmth of the fireplace which creates such cordiality, warmth and familiarity. impossible to resist the temptation to repeat the experience again and again. 5 stars absolutely deserved. impeccable service, delicious sweets and coffee. definitely recommendable.

Today we arrived after heavy rain and had to navigate deep flooded pot holes all over the car park making it difficult to park and not very safe to walk on. The outside of the pub is now looking scruffy in places which is sad to see. Inside it is charming and it was nice to sit by log fires making a cosy atmosphere. Staff are lovely as usual and we all enjoyed our meals and drinks. Toilet areas were clean but cold and again a bit run down . This is a lovely pub and with some TLC would be a great one.

Disappointed! We went out of our way to select a table that did not have a reserve sign on it. After sitting at our table for nearly an hour & purchasing multiple drinks, a member of staff plonks a reserved sign on our table. No conversation whatsoever & they walk away before we can say anything. I eventually catch the 'managers' attention (Shaun) who does apologise & said someone should have spoken to us asking how long we would like to have remained at our table. Very disappointed with our experience, felt very unwelcomed. I always thought this was a friendly pub, but now, not so sure!

Ordered chicken avocado and bacon salad, it was practically all salad. Starter was ok.

Went for Sunday dinner and the food was amazing.

We visited on a Friday evening. We ate from the main menu which i must say was fairly comprehensive and interesting, I had lamb shank with a wonderful mash potato which was very flavorsome. The lady who served us was very nice attentive and efficient. This was our first time at this restaurant but not our first time to a pub in the Vintage Inn chain. Overall the evening was excellent and we will return. On closing I must point out that the car park surface is a disaster especially in the wet as it has many potholes and should be repaired.

Good food and service. We went for an impromptu birthday celebration for a colleague and they made it really special with candles and singing.

I had a delicious prawns and scallops and garlic bread here by the fire with my Guinness. Kind staff, lovely welcome. I could recommend this pub & its atmosphere to anybody.

What a great experience! I was looking for a typical British place and came across this gastro pub. I was on my own and felt a bit apprehensive. But I had a lovely welcome from Scarlet who was very helpful and made me feel comfortable. I loved the food and the advice on wine. Highly recommended.

Great food. Cosy surroundings but alas we had to wait what we thought was an unreasonable amount of time to get asked for our first drink. We than had to go and find a waiter to take our order.

A little disappointed by the team's eagerness to see us leave, especially after having had to pay €100/person. It was Christmas but it's very average especially since we were with an elderly person who had difficulty walking

I loved the amazing service from our server who was quick with the witty banter and great on menu knowledge - she also helped us take a lovely group photo at the end of the night by the Christmas tree. I wish I knew her name, because she was excellent! I also loved the Mojito she made extra sweet for me, and the food was delicious! My favourite thing (and I’ve actually been dreaming about it since), was the blackcurrant sorbet at the end! Utterly divine, and so fresh! Overall, it was a wonderful evening with wonderful friends in a gorgeous new favourite pub! Thanks for having us!

We had a lovely meal today. The food was good and the service impeccable, however it was absolutely freezing cold inside the restaurant area and we had to eat with blankets (which were provided by the staff) and coats on which spoilt the whole experience. I asked for the heating to be turned up and even if I was told that it had been turned up, it was still incredibly cold. We noticed we were not the only customers eating wearing coats. Needless to say we will not be returning during the winter months. Also, we wanted to order coffee at the end of our meal and we were told the machine was out of order! Overall not a very positive experience

Very disappointed with the burnt Sunday roast we was served, also had to wait ages to get served and the food was not up to standard potatoes, carrots, parsnips was burnt. Had to wait at-least 25mins for desert, had to send one brownie back as it was rock solid. The waitress was polite atleast that was something. To say the very least disappointed. To add to the disappointment we sat there in our coats as it was freezing cold. Even wearing our coats did not warm us up.

A really nice pub and the service was excellent. The food was well presented and tasty. It was just a little disappointing in that at least three items that we would have eaten were not available. And, the coffee machine was broken.

Nice cosy pub at christmas time. I visited with my 4month old twins. I ordered the lasagna it was delicious (highly recommend). Really accessible to enter with extra wide double buggy - wide door and ramp side entrance. I was served by Scarlett, she was lovely, really helpful.

We had a lovely festive lunchtime meal here today. The staff were rushed off their feet but they still made sure we were made to feel welcome. The food was tasty, very reasonably priced and had large portions. The menu was quite varied, lots of choice for everyone. The pub was clean and cosy with nice decor. We would like to go back in the New Year. The only downside was the many potholes in the large car park.

Had an absolutely cracking time at Ye Olde Greene Manne the other day! We’ve been popping in now and then for the past 15 years, but I’ve got to say, this visit was proper standout. The roast was bang on— our meat cooked to perfection, all the trimmings came out piping hot, and Scarlet, the new assistant manager, kept the gravy flowing. Unlimited gravy? You can’t ask for better than that! Scarlet seems like a total star. So friendly and on it, nothing was too much trouble. She even helped guide my mum with limited eyesight to the loo and back—such a lovely thing to do—and when we fancied moving to sit by the fire after mains, she sorted it straight away with a big smile on her face. Proper top service, you don’t get that everywhere these days. It’s people like Scarlet who make a place, along with the relaxed atmosphere and noticeably enjoying the grub more than we’ve ever done before, we know we’ll definitely be back soon. Cheers!

Warm welcome? Not a chance. Staff are too busy to say Hi or to help. Infact 5 members of staff around the bar could not point me and my family to a table for 12 minutes. It's customer service at its worse. We arrived at 4.15pm for our 4.15pm booking. We are told to wait. Multiple members of staff go past us, no other customers waiting to be seated, circa 5 free tables, yet we waited 12 minutes, only for a waitress to nod a signal to let us know we can sit at the table she just wiped, and left wet! At 4.31pm we asked a waitress if we can order starters - none of the staff are interested in serving you until you call them and even then you feel like you've asked for a miracle.A random waitress tells us that Rachel will come and take our order. Order is eventually taken by Rachel. The food is very good. Fish is outstanding and chips were a tad undercooked. Chirzo is outstanding, calamari is NOT very good. Look at the photos, it's poor at over £7. But the entire experience is ruined with rude, misserable and unhelpful staff who clearly need customer service training. Upon exit I ask who the manager is. Shaun tells me that he is the manager but does not proceed to enquire as to why I am asking. Whilst we were there, the table next to us gets drink delivered a long time after ordering with an appology from Shaun and I beleive on the house. In a seperate instance a lady is complaining around 4 members of staff at the bar. Whilst the fish was outstanding, £85 for 2 adults and 1 child is not worth the money for service which is absolutely pathetic at best. I would reccomend that the owner provides customer service training to all staff, including endeavours to ensure that ALL custoners receive a warm welcome with better communication and, god forbid, a smile!

Very nice plate of fish and chips and a decent pint of Doom Bar. Friendly service. A nice place for a pub lunch, not flash but welcoming.

The venue was a wonderful blend of rustic and modern, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was scrumptious, and the desserts were yummy. The roast dinner was amazing. I had the vegetarian option and couldn't finish it because the portion was a good size! My friend had the meat option and absolutely loved it, too. Our waitress, Ellie, was fantastic. She was attentive, kind and helpful without being intrusive. The menu offered a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. I would definitely go again.

Unfortunately the pub has been neglected in recent times. The toilets are a disgrace and they need completely refurbishing. The general area appears to be in need of a good clean. The staff are friendly & there are a choice of beers available. There are better places in the area

So haven’t been for years Pub is dated Lock on ladies toilet door non existent Worst frozen manufactured calamari ever and turned up cold only had a little Veg curry was ok but more rice than veg but tasty. Waitress was good Would not go back

Visited for a Birthday Meal on Saturday. Food was reasonable, although the waitress got our drinks order wrong and there were no teaspoons? Prices have definitely gone up since our last visit, and I'm not sure there was value for money.

Sean at the pub and his team were absolutely amazing and despite the restaurant was booked they absolutely accommodated us and service was fab …. Thank you ! We left with full belly’s and a huge smile on our face , definitely be back and glad it was a last minute walk in for us ! Worth it on all levels.

The choice, value and quality of the food was excellent. You could improve the car park though - after heavy rain it was quite treacherous and uneven. There didn't seem to be any disabled person parking bays.

I went for the traditional haddock and chips. There were four of us, each making a different choice off the menu. This was not my first visit to Ye Olde Greene Manne, however, it was for the others. We all said we would return and had preferred it to another 'Vintage Inns', that we had been previously.

We went for lunch yesterday and as ever the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We always enjoy having a meal here. It’s become one of our favourite local pubs.

Busy pub - not too noisy - with good, well-priced food, served with friendly efficiency by Lauren.

It was quite busy and not enough staff. We only ordered snacks and it took at least an hour to get them. ordered the steak baguette and in one half it only had 2 pieces of steak in it. Not happy writing this as usually the food and service is great. This is not a reflection on the staff as they were working very hard.

Just had a very nice lunch and were served by Micheal who was very helpful and welcoming. Two course lunch was very reasonable with plenty of choice.

I came here the other day and was served by an absolute star of a waitress. She was so patient and delivered absolute top notch service. I believe her name was Mihaela. The food was good and the whole experience was amazing. Will definitely be returning.

Have been coming here for years off and on . More on now than off thanks to Sean who makes THE BEST Long Island Iced Tea cocktail bar non ,and we have travelled all over the world let me tell you . The staff are all friendly and can’t do enough for you but Sean goes the extra mile ,warm ,friendly ,welcoming and is clearly focused on excellent customer service . Thanks Sean and staff Very much appreciated the service and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend dropping in for a meal and a drink in the comfy chairs .See you guys very soon 👍
