I visited last night after getting stuck for 3 hours on the M25, I arrived stressed out and exhausted but was welcomed by Jonesy the barman who was so welcoming and kind. The landlords helped me in finding a hotel, I had a couple of lovely glasses of chenin blanc and relaxed in the beautiful surroundings. The oak beams, decor and the interesting history of the building was fascinating. I will definitely come back another time for some food and more great hospitality! 👍

Good service. reasonale priced drinks and good tapas menu. Gets overcrowded on football nights but otherwise a good venue for a night out.

We went to this great find to meet up with friends that we have not seen for ten years. It was like we had only seen them Last week. That aside this was a great find the landlord and landlady were great hosts and having lived in Spain for many many years decided to have a selection of the many number of tapas on offer. Each dish was superbly cooked and took us back to our years in Spain. It was very authentic and full of flavour.the pub has two garden areas and inside offered great character. This is about 25 minutes from us in maidenhead but it will be worth the relatively short journey for the best tapas we have had since being back in the U.K.. Our friends were equally impressed and both couples agreed it was an excellent find.

Just visited with my wife for a pub lunch. The menu is not that big and wouldn't really call it a traditional pub menu. The burger was pretty good but the chips were cold. My wife ordered a vegetarian chili bowl which was served cold so she asked it to be taken back and warmed up. The waiter warmed it up but this time as he was serving it to my wife, spilled it on the table. My wife, having waited so long, decided to just eat it else it would have been another long wait. The food was nothing to write home about and if a pub advertises itself as home cooked food then the least it can do is make sure the meals come out hot. The vegetarian chilli was average at best and lacked decent spices you expect of a chilli. The burger was fine other than the chips. Highly disappointed given the quality of pubs around that locality and the poor service. We won't be going there again and don't see how I can recommend it to anyone else. There are a lot better pubs on the same road.

Had a meal with friends. Staff very friendly and accommodating but the pub lacks atmosphere. The menu was varied but the quality of the food was disappointingly average. I doubt we will visit again.

We had a lovely dinner with friends. Good menu and staff well informed when asked about the menu. The food was very good. Service very good. The one thing i didnt like was the 12.5% service charge. I know it states on the bill it is optional but you feel you cant not pay it. But 12.5% in a pub restaurant i think is over the top.

This pub used to serve really great thai food. It now looks like it has been taken over by a brewery and will be offering identikit pub food. Real shame.

Popped on at lunchtime on Boxing Day , This once fabulous old pub with its real log fires wonderful warmth and a great welcome... was almost empty. It was freezing cold with only one fire lit in the whole place ..we sat with our coats on !! Welcome - non existent ..bloke at the bar was way more interested in his paper that a live customer. Menu looked ok .but as the place was so cold and at one stage we were the only people in the Pub ..So ..staying was not an option . .in fact drinking up and leaving was The Option !! What a very sad demise ! ..if you can't do better than this .Why open at all ??

Whiling away an hour before the children erupt out of school, we visited the the White horse. This quaint Tudor? looking pub has recently undergone a transformation. The atmosphere was quiet and serene, staff helpful and polite, food served promptly despite being 2:30 in the afternoon. Food was presented well and we enjoyed the experience. Cost was good.

Slow service although wasn't busy and had miserable staff, Jesus smile it's not hard. Tried watching the football but some God awful band were playing what I do not dare call music so loudly I felt my ears were being brutally violated so hard it made us (a group of 8 leave) leave. Worst experience ever.

Newish owners have restored the restaurant to its former glory. Straightforward English pub food, attentively served, decent portions, very well cooked. The ales are well kept and well served as well. Hard to ask for more.

We choose this pub as it is an excellent rondevous being 1 minute off the M25 (Junction 18) Ideal for meeting friends coming from different directions .I read the previous reviews and was not expecting to find such an excellent pub/restaurant.Sunday lunch was superb. Freshly cooked roasts providing a substantial meal with a huge array of beautifully cooked vegetables. They did not have a vegetarian option but the waitress could not have been more welcoming and cooperative. They rustled up a grilled Halloumi roast and served with all the traditional vegetables it was delicious Unfortunately not many other diners for a Sunday Lunch time and this must be disappointing for the pub. They deserve to be very busy!!!! Staff were attentive and service was quick and excellent.. Definitely a place to return whenever arranging a meeting.
