The Red House in Three Rivers

Some family friends and I attended the Red House pub and received excellent customer service from a gentleman named Scott. We were sat down very quickly and got seen to with allowing time to decide on drinks. We then ordered our food and had a few specific requests and changes. When the food came out it was presented well and no mistakes were made with our specific requests and changes. Scott was very professional and served us with a smile each time we were approached. He also went the extra mile and not only once or twice but three times, with us being a pain, he didn't fuss and served our needs. We will 100% be returning!

. Had a lovely Sunday Lunch, pub was busy but we were kept informed of the wait by Carol. Beef was cooked perfectly and with a free dessert- great deal.

Went to the pub for a couple pints and a roast. The meat duo was cooked spot on really has improved over the years. Definitely will be coming back as I love the direction this pub is going in!!!!!!!!

Got to the Croxley Green Greene King pub at 12:40 and were immediately sat down. The nice lady came over and took our drinks order but had to check availability.. After returning she took took the order for the drinks and food and kindly lets us know that there will be a 20 min wait due to a influx of mobile app orders which was fine. the drinks came out relatively quick as they do but to be told they had run out of garlic bread which was then replaced with a portion of chicken wings. An hour later out came the main food , not only the wrong food but semi warm and no starters which was disappointing. After several minutes finally got the attention the lovely lady to explain the situation, she apologised and asked if I would like the correct meal I then kindly replied no thank you have we don't have much time left on lunch. as I then try to eat what was given to me which was a semi warm dry and hard bit of chicken which was the last straw for me! At this point the manager come over to apologies for mix up and a cash refund of around about £1.50 for over £15 worth of food!!!! I told him the food was not eatable and only thing he could say was sorry and stood over our table to see if we were going to finish the meal which the started to turn in to a awkward situation and at that point I would of just like a a refund for the food (A) that was not eatable and (B) the wrong order!!!Would highly not recommend this place and will never be going back.

Such a nice pub, all of the staff are so friendly, especially Scott! Definitely recommend coming here!

After visiting this pub on many occasions I stopped going after the poor service and miserable staff, however after some friends said about meeting there I had no choice but to go back. It seems there's a new landlady and staff.It's the now the complete opposite with friendly staff and great service. I will be back again soon for sure.

Just returned from an impromptu lunch following a morning’s shopping. Very impressed with the friendliness of staff, the cleanliness and, of course the food, drink and price. We both had the halloumi wraps, chips, salad and a glass of red. Thoroughly enjoyable and we will return soon.

Just love this place. We had to close our office due to Covid and The Red House has provided a safe, secure and appropriate place for the team to meet and continue some work. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for us. We support families with children that have special needs and everyone is so welcoming to them as well. My son is non-verbal and all staff take time to communicate with him and include in everything. He loves it there!

Visited on a weekday evening, and since our previous visits, everything on a whole, has improved a lot. The menu seems to have been redone, with some really lovely options other than usual pub grub- which is lovely to have the option. The drinks service is very quick. It seems the level of service from the staff has improved a lot too, which is lovely because before it was a little hostile and lacked care. Everything was good with the food, although I did order the mussels and I feel like not a lot of people had ordered them recently because half of the portion were dead, and had not opened up during cooking, which is a shame. This being said, our waitress dealt with this very well and quickly brought me a fresh portion to replace the unopened mussels. I am sure the chef will check what they serve going forward in more detail :) This wouldn't stop me from returning, all in all, a good experience.

Some of the best pub food I've ever tasted and for a very suitable price! Staff were lovely, kind and extremely helpful! Overall just a very enjoyable visit! Will definitely be coming back!

Took my mum for lunch, Scott was a great host. Explained everything very clearly including how to use the app. Lunch was lovely, I had the steak toastie which was very filling. Scott made us feel so welcome we booked for next week!

The Red House is our local pub, Scott one of the staff here is very accommodating and nothing is too much to ask! Very well mannered and pleasant. Scott is always very happy to help us and everyone in the pub.

This is my local pub and I’m a very happy customer.We normally pop by in the week for a drink and some dinner and we are nearly always served by Scott who is alway super efficient and friendly.Great local boozer and the beer is ways on point. They’ve recently done up the outside area and it’s very accommodating, especially whilst the weather is nice!Would highly recommend if your a local or just passing through!

Popped in last night for dinner after work. Had to order our drinks TWICE and they still took 30 minutes to arrive. It wasn’t as if the place was that busy, but clearly too much for their struggling barman. This pub used to have a pretty decent barman, I don’t know what happened to him, but enough people lost their jobs during the pandemic (well 290,000 of them) that you’d think it would be easy to hire decent staff.My starter arrived and was eaten, and still no drinks! In retrospect, the waitress should have told us, ‘Listen, the barman’s rubbish here. A glass of coke and a white wine is going to put him under too much pressure. Why don’t you order water instead? He’ll be able to manage that.’The food? Nothing special really, but cheap enough. I could have done with the starter plate being cleared away whilst I ate my main course but what do you expect?

I had the bacon cheese burger and my partner had the lamb shank roast both dinners were lovely. Very quick and prompt service food was hot and drinks where cold. Best meal in quite a while

Beautiful new garden, lots of heaters (didn’t need a coat on in the evening), great variety of gins and cocktails, and friendly service!

A warm welcome and nice atmosphere, very covid secure. The staff are very very friendly especially Scott and Dee. Very well cooked food and good portions sizes. The service is very quick. Would recommend to anyone for a family friendly place to eat or drink.

The staff are ever so friendly and welcoming, always up for a chat. My favourite staff are Nicki, Scott and Dee who always look after me. They have a variety of meals that are freshly cooked, my favourite is chicken tikka.... yummy. Would highly recommend to all ages

Came for a lovely Sunday dinner where we were greeted at the door by Scott. He explained the regulations and sat us down at our table, making us feel extremely welcome. The roast beef was absolutely delicious and would definitely recommend this pub for a bite to eat. Friendly and welcoming. 10/10.

Went for a Sunday roast, had a really lovely time, great service and staff were very welcoming. They had really good social distancing in place so I had no concerns regarding Covid. The host Scott was very welcoming and Jack who served us was excellent, will definitely be back.

I was there with my family..sadly ruined by football supporters being rude and rowdy, coupled with theme being told to keep it down..only for us being told to leave by the female manageress as we had no drink at our table..even though we had just finished. When I asked her she said it was all about profit ! To make matters worse we had another table member come and sit at our table to pacify...in a COVID19 world a no no... so for your health safety AVOID.

Had a catch up with my son, decided to go to the Red House for a Sunday lunch. Very safe and secure environment from start to finish. Lovely food and good service. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I had the beef Sunday roast which was extremely tough. My husband had the chicken. His food was really good and when I told the waitress with the bright blue hair about my beef she was extremely apologetic and offered us our drinks for free. I gratefully accepted. I wouldn’t let this stop me from going again, but I would steer clear of the beef.I know from cooking beef at home that it’s sometimes hit and miss so it really didn’t spoil our meal.The staff were all lovely and helpful and Covid aware.

Lovely Sunday lunch watching the football. Very good social distancing measures. Scott the host was a credit - such a polite young man explained all measures even new ones going forward from Monday. Great recommendation on food (beef) and made sure table was cleared promptly.

Had such a great visit to the red house in Croxley Green. Was greeted by a young boy at the front with brown hair, he was so considerate to myself and my parter, he had a great smile and you could tell he loved his job. We could order are drinks and food so easily though the Green King app, but staff were on hand to help us and guide us too. It was a clean pub, lots of space and a great atmosphere.

As always Dee and the team were awesome! My Little Man LOVES this pub and it’s been so difficult to keep him away. He’s autistic and non-verbal and loves to run around. Dee arranged a specific area for us where he could safely run around and not break social distancing. They also kept his favourite food on the menu so we can guarantee at least one decent meal a week! We’ll definitely make this a regular thing.

I have been coming to the Red House since my mum moved to Croxley about 12 years ago and have seen managers and chefs come and go. I have to say that it was the nicest meal I have ever had there. I had the veggie curry and am usually reluctant to eat curry outside an indian restaurant but my mum said she had a good one the week before - it was lovely! My husband had the house speciality fish and chips and said it was the best he had eaten for a long time. He was happy with his plate of food which was then made even better with the arrival of a small jug of curry sauce. The other two had lamb shanks and said the meat just dropped off the bone and the vegetables were nice. Afterwards we sat outside in the sun (which hadn't been forecasted) and had a drink. A lovely lunchtime and thank you to Rhiannon and the rest of the staff.

Rhiannon was an excellent host for our Sunday lunch, first time out post lock down and she made us feel very confident to come again. Thanks team 😍

My friend and I ventured to the always welcoming and beautiful Red House. We were both in dire need of beverages and sustenance to keep us fueled for our long road of adventures ahead. We were greeted by the stunning and charming Xanthe. Taken aback by her beauty, my colleague and I could barely gather our words her radiance is intoxicating and truly something to behold. In an instant we were seated and served. The charismatic staff coupled with a beautiful venue is second to none. I recommend the Red House above all places in the ever growing popular Croxley.

The waitress i had was very polite and friendly to me and my family. I was very pleased by this her name was Chelsea.

Wanted to c what dinning out was like after lockdown came here first time easy to find and have their own car park precautions were staff work visors and glasses there is a one way system in the pub which was a pain wasn’t busy just a few ppl my partner had the burger chops and onion rings could of been a bigger portion I had the chicken tikka it came with rice naan mango chutney poppadumVery nice and filling kids had the kids meal our waitress wasChelsea she was very friendly and helpful reasonable price

Wow. The place looks great, looked good before lockdown but you can tell the staff have been working behind the scenes before re opening. Popped in for a bite to eat with friends and the food was spot on. Dee the manageress and her staff were great at explaining the one way system etc and helped us with the order and pay app. Much easier for us. Can’t wait to go back.

Ok, so we’re just back into some sort of old ‘normal’ life. Dee and Scott ,in particular, have done an amazing job to make sure the pub experience is as close as can be to the old days. Social distancing is paramount even though, as a regular, it seems a bit weird because you go there to chitter chatter with others, and, as it happens, it can be done from a distance. Well done to all the Red House team, and the guys helping out from the Fox and Hounds. We were in there yesterday- 18th July

Arrived for lunch, went to the bar to order, was advised they didn't have what we wanted and also they had run out of lots of things on the menu, but no details given of what they had run out of! Had another look at the menu, went back to order again, waited ages for someone to take the order, to be rudely told, we don't have that either, no apology or attempt to help, we left, went to the Harvester and had a lovey meal!

Newly refurbished and looking very appealing from the outside. Couldn't really tell the difference inside and the food was definitely not refurbished. There isn't a picture of the chicken kiev on the website so I've added one here to save anyone ordering it. Shame as it's so local but I'm afraid it's a definite avoid from us.

Am still sitting in the pub, having just finished a great family meal. Fish and chips were well cooked, with the best mushy peas I have had in a long time. My sons had the steak pie which they both commented were excellent. We had 2 bottles of wine- a red and a white and they were the best value wine I have ever had in a pub restaurant. And finally, the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. A great value family meal. We don't live locally, but I would highly recommend this as a good value family venue, and would definitely come back if I was this way again.

The first visit since the refurb which has been done very well. The food was hit and miss. The mushroom and ale pie had definitely been microwaved as the pastry was soft and the mashed potatoes was solid without much flavour. Fish and chips was good. Wouldn’t go back for food but would pop in for a drink. It could be good with more attention to detail.

We visited The Red House in Croxley Green for lunch last Saturday to meet up with some friends for Christmas. We had to wait for our food for over half an hour (although there was only 5 of us) and when it arrived I felt the quality of the food was poor. The macaroni cheese was a disgrace. Small bowl of very dry macaroni cheese. We will not be returning here.

Used to be a dog friendly local with charming, efficient and friendly staff. Now it’s barely human friendly. The new manager has the personality of a pissed off wet paper bag. I’ve had a more pleasant time waiting for my luggage at Luton airport standing next to a bucket collecting water from a leaky roof. Zero engagement with customers. Zero ambience Zero welcome. If Poundland did staff canteens they would be better than this.

Had a fabulous Christmas Lunch here today, with my craft group buddies. Staff were lovely - friendly & efficient. Food was lovely and incredibly good value! Highly recommend this place! Love the new decor too!!🥰

Just super beautifully renewed placed, done in a stylish way, yet the service appears to and have been very poor! We’ve been coming for over two years and not ONCE the tables have been clean, even on a quiet day/night. Ordered food 3mins past 9pm and they wouldn’t serve as the kitchen is closed!! Not a nudge of flexibility or customer service. And the last happens on a Friday night, where the pub is packed and busy, money could have been nicely poured into the revenue.... Customers ready to buy food and drinks but the chef has gone home.

Showed up at 6pm to get a dinner, no menus on tables, asked for a menu only to be told they are shutting 4 hours early, no reason given. Website says they are open til 10:30pm and serve food until 9pm.

Been coming here for a number of years and always be ok. We didn’t bother for a few months as we found the service very slow and food average,we thought we would give it another chance on Sunday !! Well we was pleasantly surprised, The service was pleasantly friendly and food very tasty and much better menu.we will be definitely returning.

We went in on Saturday night for dinner. The food was reasonably priced and pretty good quality. The pub was not too busy and we easily found a table for 2. The staff were really friendly and service was very fast indeed. I would recommend for a reasonable family meal and with a large menu there is something for all tastes.

Friendly staff. Good tasty food at a very reasonable price. Didn't have to wait long for our meals. Nice clean place to eat for all the family. Also dog friendly which is always a plus

We visited for Sunday lunch. The staff are very friendly and very attentive. Choice of food has increased since the new menu started. Very quick ordering service. Food was served quickly despite the restaurant being very busy. Food was lovely and was served hot. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good traditional Sunday roast.

We love to visit this pub, lately the food Standards have slipped below redemption. It is very hit and miss and depentant on who is cooking on the day. Will be a very last option for dining in future.

Booked a table for 6 Sunday 5pm. Plenty of space and a choice of tables available. We were advised of a short delay in service due to staff shortage in kitchen. Food was more than acceptable, sweet potato chips were returned as overcooked, but otherwise all was good. The restaurant was clean and tidy, an ideal place for an informal meal with friends.

This is a great welcoming pub in Croxley Green which offers good food and well kept beers in a really well furnished establishment ; a place that could be used as a base, ideal to explore the nearby super country walks and riverside strolls, close to the railway station and bus routes this is one you really should not miss. Dog and kids friendly.

Popped in with friends for drinks and dinner food and drink was good and value for money only thing is there was a mongrel looking black dog that kept yapping unless it's owner a strange little man in shorts and a jumper (It's December) kept giving him treats if your going to let dog's in then keep them away from eating guests last thing I want to see whilst eating my food is a dog licking his bits

Came here on a spur of the moment Saturday early evening.

Regularly visit this pub on a friday, this pub offers two meals for £10.00 and offer a good selection on this offer also over 60s get further discount eating earlier. Also on the menu is a variety of food. We always have the steak and ayle pie absolutely delicious lovely crusty pastry and full with meat. Inside isnt romantic but a friendly and inviting pub. There is parking in the day you get an hour free but must display a ticket after 6.30 no ticket needed it it does get busy and sometimes parking is a bit difficult especially fri to sunday.

We stopped here for lunch and found it very good , staff were very friendly , food was good , typical good pub food

This old bird went in for a lager at lunchtime and had a wee wait while emma saw to an elderly woman and her order. When they had finished I said that I thought she had behaved with compassion and patience to her customer. Her sweet reply was, well I have two grandmothers and I suppose I hope that while I am being kind to someone, someone is being kind to them.

Lovely food and good prices. Have been meaning to try the red house for quite some time and finally got round to it. Burgers very nice and a good selection of drinks. Would recommend.

We used to go here 30 years ago. My goodness, what a difference. It is clean, warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. The service is quick, and it amazes us how they always remember our drinks. It has a great atmosphere, and the other guests are friendly and welcoming.

This is a nice pub and worth a visit. The staff are good and there is a good variety of meals on the menu it is family friendly with limited outdoor seating and good value for money. Happy to recommend.

Have been coming here for many years though not very frequently. Family meals, dates, hangouts with friends and relatives, the occasional quiz, or just a swift pint on the way home from work.

Kids meals were great value for money and the children enjoyed them. I ordered Hunters Chicken and my husband Gammon Steak on the two meals for £10.49 so great value for money. My husband enjoyed the Gammon but my chicken had NO TEXTURE it tasted really soggy a bit like mashed up baby food or cheap chicken nuggets, I'm not sure why this was? Was it defrosted in water for too long? Was it dropped and then washed ....these were my thoughts sadly and it put me off visiting again. I did complain and was told sorry by a young waiter but my complaint was not followed up. As one of my local eateries I feel disappointed that my meal was unsatisfactory and that nothing else was offered so I left feeling hungry still. Sadly my family and I will not return. If you go I would avoid the hunters chicken.

Not my sort of pub but for a cheap meal out it is hard to beat. Good solid pub food and I have never had a meal here that I have not enjoyed. Drink menu is fine and wine by the glass has always been satisfactory.

Arrived at this pub late afternoon... clean, warm with friendly staff. DJ for the evening was fantastic, really enjoyed the evening. Only gripe was that the bar food we ordered was very over priced. Asked for an order of chips £3.50 and an order of nachos £3.50. Counted 10 chips and what was the equivalent of quarter a bag of Doritos with a mound of sauce to hide the quantity. Very disappointed. We had planned to visit in the future for food but on this basis won't be. Shame!

This is an excellent place to stop if you are walking along the Grand Union Canal.

Both times i have been the food has been pretty standard Greene King fayre but cooked perfectly - please keep these high standards going as it is so often the little things of getting properly cooked, hot food on time that make the difference, rather than doing something "special" or inventive.

Ok food and usual not very imaginative beers on draught. Could do with more staff. One person doing bar duties and taking food orders made for very long queues at the bar.

This is a good pub for a good drink and a reasonably priced meal. You could compare it to Weatherspoons but personally I think it's better than them as it is very family oriented. Give it a try but don't expect too much

Really nice pub, newly done up I think? Good menu, great priced drinks. Nicely laid out with friendly, attentive staff and well priced food and drink. Right next to Croxley Station definate winner, car parking at rear - loved it!

Badly poured pints , service bordering on the hostile once they'd even bothered acknowledging you. I'd give this pub a miss.

So I decided to order a Sunday Roast, for some reason (I'm pleased), I asked her when ordering to make sure she had Horseradish Sauce. Her reply was 'we haven't got any today' . I asked why they didn't pop Next Door to the shop and just buy some ... she replied it's a managers decision. When the manager appeared All she did was refund my money for the meal. I think fate played its part and helped me avoid what upon looking at a fellow diners plate, looked a dire roast. I just don't understand some places . AVOID

On our first visit the food was much better then on the second one.

The Red House is a reasonable menu of normal pub grub. However despite it being relatively inexpensive, and having meal offers the food has always been to a good standard. so visit it fairly often with friends and family.

We went there during the August bank holiday weekend (end of August) and the menu was varied with very kind waiting and serving staff.
