After a recommendation we hired the Brewery Tea Rooms for a reception after my sister’s funeral. We cannot fault the kindness, attention to detail and the service we received from the ladies at the Tea Room on what was inevitably a difficult day. All the food was very freshly made and tea and coffee in plentiful supply. The Brewery Tea Rooms met our needs perfectly and we can highly recommend a visit. Thank you so much ladies for all your efforts on our behalf.

What a wonderful find. We stumbled across Toast on our visit to Stortford and, together with our little dog, were warmly welcomed. We ordered coffees, a meaty breakfast and a vegan breakfast with an actual vegan sausage, a first for us! It is so refreshing to see a vegan breakfast on a menu instead of the usual vegetarian breakfast where you have to tell the staff no eggs etc (but normally end up paying for all the items you’ve not had anyway). This was the opposite, starts out vegan and you can build it up to make it into a vegetarian. Everything was lovely and we were even given a ‘doggie’ sausage for our fur baby. It is the little touches that make a big difference and very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend.

I had bought a wheel of tete de moine last Christmas, which The Cheese Plate had posted to me. It was great and I wanted another one this Christmas but this time I thought I'd drive up to Buntingford and see what else they have. Fortunately I was able to buy their last wheel of tete de moine, which, surprisingly, was the same price as last year! But they had some lovely other cheeses too - a spread of English, French, Swiss, Italian and Spanish I believe. The highlight was the creamy/gooey gorgonzola but I also bought a small pot of garlic jelly - something I hadn't seen before and an excellent morbier, far better than what's on offer in supermarkets.

Lunch time visit today , with my Partner and Her Mother . A most excellent time was had and the Food was exceptionally good . I chose the Cottage Pie with Cauliflower Cheese from their “specials board” . Extremely good to eat . My Part and Her Mother chose Cheese on Toast , one on Brown bread and one on White ! The food was cooked to order with generous portions . As usual the Proprietor and His Wife were friendly and accommodating .

Having eaten at the George a few times I thought it was time to right a review. The food we have had on every visit is exceptional, last night we had the scotch egg and grilled king prawns followed by the sirloin steak for 2, the chefs obviously are passionate about what they do and it shows in the food. The service is unassuming but very efficient the perfect combination. We will definitely be back again.

I came here with my daughter and her friend to get a takeaway and was served by Clayton. His customer service is top tier and should be studied! Thanks for making us feel so welcomed and for being so friendly. I never forget excellent customer service and so wanted to share my experience at this branch.

Excellent food friendly staff can’t rate it highly enough. The menu has a varied and wide selection to meet everybody’s needs. Lovely garden. The staff are friendly helpful and we didn’t have to wait a long time for our drinks and food. It is very personable great place to go with friends and family as it caters for everybody’s needs. You are also allowed pets and they provide water for them.

Hi,The jolly waggoner. Yes I ate with friends on Friday evening, I had also booked for the Saturday night as well, until we ate ...all I can say is all 9 of us were very disappointed with the food.5 fish and chips 4 of which were very dry/over cooked, one of these were so dry i sent it back after removing the skin to find the driest piece of haddock I have ever been served overcooked dried fish. And a teaspoon of mushy peas in a McDonald's sauce pot.... again very dry it all looked like it had been under a kitchen hot lamp for far too long.i asked for the replacement to have the skin removed before it was cooked as I like the batter but not the skin.I got another not quite so dry haddock but still with the skin on !. Don't suppose it's very easy to skin pre - battered frozen fish. Obviously there are no chef's in the kitchen just a cook who takes things from the freezer and drops them in the hot fat fryer. Such a shame about the food as the staff out front couldn't have been more helpful or apologetic. Needless to say we cancelled the booking for the Saturday night and you also lost out on possibly eight Sunday dinners as well. Regrettably, T.claridge.

Whenever we go, this place is always busy no matter what day or time. This is simply because of the quality of the service and products. today, we had a sandwich. Mine, chicken salad with onion marmalade was simply delicious (who would think of marmalade in a chicken salad sandwich)? The other sandwich was prawn salad which I'm told was also delicious. Both sandwiches were at least an inch thick and no, that was not mostly salad, but chicken and prawn. My cappuccino was simply lovely. Add to this the staff are always friendly and accommodating, what else can anyone want?

Very disappointed after being highly rerecommend. 2 out of 5 starters unavailable. Fish had no taste batter soggy. Chips were frozen. Desert was a tiny piece of sticky toffee pudding definitely not homemade with custard bit tasteless. Even the coffee wasn't special. Definitely won't be returning.
