Cafe mocha in East Hertfordshire

What a find this place is! My favourite go to as far as coffee shops are concerned. This is a family and dog friendly cafe which offers generous portions and great affordable prices compared to other establishments in the town. The coffee is divine , the milkshakes are so thick and creamy but if you fancy something healthier, they also have smoothies and fresh OJ. Their menu also includes gluten free, veggie/ vegan options which is a huge plus when eating out in a group as there's something for everyone. I'm also told there'll be gluten free cakes in the near future. The owners are incredibly charming and the staff provide outstanding and friendly service. They're always going above and beyond for the customers. So! If you ever find yourself in Bishop's Stortford, give this place a try, you won't regret it.

Absolutely banging lunch at Cafe Mocha this afternoon! Generous portion sizes, reasonably priced, great menu selection and fast service. Great atmosphere & would definitely recommend.

I always come here whenever I visit Bishops Stortford, the staff are so warm and welcoming, the food is freshly prepared and is always so tasty. Great menu. I love the quirky ornaments, some have lovely memories from my childhood. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Looking for a place for a light lunch, we happened to come across this café and we were so glad we did😀! The food was fresh and tasty, the portions were generous, the service was friendly and efficient. It was also amazing value for money. We thoroughly recommend it!

For a small cafe, there is a fair amount of seating, inside, outside & upstairs (though the steps are steep!) There’s the typical range of English breakfast options here, as well as some veggie options. It’s also licensed, so you can have alcohol here too. The food is fairly priced & as good as you could hope for. Service is great & always comes with a smile. Don’t forget it’s cash only!

I was just treated to the most beautiful lunch. I wasn’t sure what to have so I went with the chef Joseph’s choice of a ground beef bolognese with rice and salad. It was incredible. The salad was dressed with a balsamic and a wedge of lemon which complimented the meal as a whole. The rice was cooked to perfection and had so much flavour. I was a cook myself for 8 years before changing profession, so it feels special to be on the other side and be treated to quality food and flavour like Cafe Mocha have just done. Truly a glorious plate of food and instantly wanted to eat it all over again as soon as I finished. Thank you Joseph and team.

On our first visit to Bishops Stortford we came across this delightful cafe and decided to have a light lunch. We sat outside and were warmly greeted within a couple of minutes. We ordered coffee's and my husband ordered the 2 fried eggs and toast whilst I chose the salmon and scrambled eggs. The drinks arrived promptly closely followed by the food. I was blown away with the wonderful presentation of my dish!! It tasted superb and my husband enjoyed his lunch too .

Simply the best breakfast in Bishops stortford Proper sausages £9.50 worth every penny 2 eggs 2 bacon 2 sausages 2 hash browns tomatoes and mustard 2 toast and tea.

This cafe was a real treat after a not so great (poor) "bob" visit. Those running the cafe where outstanding and very helpful regarding questions we had on the ingredients of the vege sausage which I can confirm is vegan. Greatness 5 of us went 4 adults and a baby. We ordered 4 vegan breakfasts. There wasn't a set for this only the vege so we removed the egg and requested an extra hash brown. Breakfast: avocado, vegan sausage, toms, mushrooms, beans and a few hash browns. A generous portion and with a platter of toast and olive oil. (Better quality bread would be a bonus We met a friendly local names Jo aka non Smokey Jo. She was a delight. The place was clean and tidy and there was plenty of room. It was warm. Coffee was great and food was good. If in the area again I would certainly hope to be back. It was a pleasure. (I'd give it a 5* if it wasn't for the serving of animals) Best, Gareth

Very friendly staff who even just before Christmas found the time to chat and interact with our grandchildren. Food good, though not exceptional and prices very reasonable for the area. Good choice for morning coffee or light lunch and close to main shopping area and multi story car park.

Love the chicken pannini especially. The chicken is grilled and the marinade is delicious. The staff are all lovely and friendly and make their customers feel very welcome

I was visiting Bishops Stortford with my 14 month old and we both needed to eat. Not having a clue about where to go this was the first place we came across and what a treasure it is! Made us both so welcome and accommodated my bulky pushchair and a messy baby for a gorgeous all day breakfast. The staff were lovely and nothing felt like too much trouble for them. Excellent food and the best fresh orange juice in the world!

Honestly it is, and I’ve eaten a LOT of cheese omelettes. The cafe has recently been redecorated and now looks very smart, and the good news is that they have still got the same omelette chef. 😋

2 hours or so of walking and shopping gives rise to the need to refuel and refresh, ready for the next session. Cafe Mocha crosses all the "t's" and dots all the "i's" !Such a modest eatery - but offering a broad selection of food choices, including sensible options for kids. Efficient, polite, friendly service.....all at very reasonable prices. When one is eating on the hoof mid-day, one doesn't look for Michelin Stars - just honest to goodness fresh & tasty food. This is exactly what you get here.

Does exactly what it should!....no nonsense good grub. Well cooked. Good portions and always friendly service. Staff are happy to make changes to dishes when requested. Reasonably priced. I will be back

Called in for a quick morning coffee and cake.

We stopped here to have some lunch. Downstairs is quite small but there is an upstairs to eat. The menu is a decent size. We decided to both have an omlete chips and salad. The food was ready after about 10 minutes and was hot and very tasty. Decent size portions. Reasonable price. Staff were friendly. Would recommend a visit there.

A standard cafe menu, reasonable quality and very reasonably priced. Coffee is highly recommended and very nice indeed - matches the high street chains easily. All these reasons above make this the cafe of choice when I am in the town centre.

Last time I was in this cafe in 2017, when stayed briefly at Bishops Stortford, and I was overwhelmed with the high quality of the meal I was offered there. I happened to be at Bishops one more time, just a week ago, and couldn't resist the temptation to revisit the place to have lunch. Once again Tony, their chef, worked wonders to cook delicatessen just by using the simplest and the most ordinary ingredients.He truly deserves a round of applause!

I always find the food here good, well priced and extremely friendly staff. I love mushrooms so when I order a breakfast I am always pleased how many you get, the food is always good, I love the Spanish omelette..

Pedí en la librería me fui donde podrían recomendar. "Bien, la mayoría de uso en café Mocha Devoils Lane", me dijeron. Nombre - Nombre devoils encantador que la mente me deja atónito en - cómo llegó! De todos modos, me digresión. Hay una amplia zona de estar con un par de mesas afuera. Ordenar un americano, de repente sentí hambre. Sándwich de tocino? Le pregunté a la súper cortés señorita detrás del mostrador. Tome asiento con vosotros. De pronto dos rodajas gruesas de pan con bacon llegó cargado con una gran jarra de café - no pequeñas, medianas o grandes aquí! Junto con una pequeña jarra independiente de leche para mí para añadir mi propia ya azúcar y salsas cuidadosamente estibado en la mesa para satisfacer mi gusto. Moka cafe en Bishops Stortford es un café para visitar. Tiene una gran selección de comida y buenos precios. La comida está bien preparada. El personal es muy amable. Hay asientos en el exterior para cualquiera que quiera fumar, hay asientos de abajo y zona de estar más arriba. Mi hijo y yo son asiduas en el café y se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que visite este café bishops stortford que quieran una buena comida, una copa o aperitivo.

Soy alérgica a muchos tipos de comida, y es un verdadero fastidio para mí para encontrar un lugar donde yo podía comer sin tener ningún problema de salud. Y este lugar me hicieron sentir feliz, para el almuerzo preparado para mí (el salmón al vapor con cebolla y brócoli) era realmente delicioso y saludable. My husband I go in here most weekends for breakfast. We have never been disappointed with quality of food, always freshly prepared and hot, good selection which can be mix and match with friendly welcome. Highly recommended.

The food is not at all overpriced. I can highly recommend the chicken salad. Extremely tasty - plenty of chicken - chargrilled chicken pieces served with salad in a balsamic dressing in a bowl. Great size portions - excellent value for money.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Feta Salad was delicious. Nice and clean. We were greeted by staff when we arrived and they were polite and friendly even though it was busy.

Cafe mocha is a fantastic cafeit does lovely food at good prices. They have a large selection of food on the menu. They have extra seating upstairs and also tables outside if you wish to smoke. Anyone visiting bishops Stortford and wanting a meal should definitely go into cafe mocha

This cafe is wonderful. It does a large selection of home cooked food, well cooked and good prices. There is a upstairs eating area if downstairs is busy. The staff are friendly. My son and I go here regularly and would highly recommend Mocha cafe to anyone visiting Bishops Stortford and wants a good restaurant to go to

Popped in here with my partner as we needed a big breakfast top kick off our Sunday. I had a fry up and she had a Spanish omelette. Both were huge and both were tasty. Honestly one of the best fry ups I have had in a long time, and at a really good price too.I would highly recommend this place if you want a traditional English fry up or something to ease a hangover.

Possibly the biggest breakfast available in Bishops Stortford, the mocha special is not for the faint hearted, an unbelievable portion which is guaranteed to put you into a food coma. The cafe chef constantly produces excellent food, the waitresses are sweet girls from hungary

We had a couple of hours to catch up with friends and choose the coffee shop mostly because it was the first we came across. We had a great time with friends, complemented with good food and drinks. The staff were great.

Only went to Cafe Mocha as it was the venue for our "Free" breakfast as part of our George Hotel deal. Nicely tucked away this little cafe was just what you would want. Friendly staff, prompt service and a top drawer english breakfast that was cooked to order in double quick time by the very busy chef. I could not fault a thing to be honest and the fact that this tiny cafe was still busy doing breakfasts orders at 11am without a gap in demand just shows how popular this place is. The ingredients used did not give the impression of cheap and nasty and it was very much Value For Money. If I'm ever in stortford again for an overnighter will definately pop by again for my breakfast. Top drawer!

The menu had lots of choice from sandwiches to substantial lunchtime meals. I had a great decaffeinated coffee and a beautifully cooked Spanish omelette, which came with really crispy chips and well dressed, tasty salad. Our friends recommended the pancakes for dessert and they were delicious, mine with a generous helping of Nutella. Our friends asked for more lemon for theirs and a whole dish of lemon was brought. Nothing was too much trouble, extra cutlery, glasses of water etc. all served by very smiley waitresses. The owner came out to the patio for a chat and gave us a little dish of complimentary cherries, which was such a nice touch. The place was spotless, including the toilets. If only we had a place like this near our home but we will certainly make a point of visiting again, as we know we will be sure of a really excellent, well cooked and presented lunch in very pleasant and friendly surroundings. My niece and nephew go here after school sometimes to get a burger as a treat. They are welcomed by friendly staff who serve up a fabulous latte too.

Basic cafe but food is always of a high standard. Good value for money and plenty of choice. They are also very accommodating. We use it almost weekly and never disappointed.

Four of us one of who was in a wheelchair decided to have something to sustain us. We found the Cafe Mocha which looked very nice. We were given a table near to the door and they assisted to get us through and comfortable.We ordered our food and were not disappointed. I had a mixed grill which was fit for a King. The lady who waited on us was very pleasant and gave us the impression she enjoyed her job for hich we thank her.The kitchen staff did a 1st class job.Thank you everyone.

I visited here on the 5th of December 2015 with two friends it looked nice from the outside so we decided to try it as we was visiting the area. We walked in and went up to the upstairs seating area as soon as we walked up to the table a member of staff said have you decided what you want yet, we literally only walked in, how would we know what we wanted? My friend said we would like a few minutes please. She came back and asked to take our drink orders first, I had a diet coke. She came back with the drinks but she bought me the wrong drink and I said sorry I asked for a diet coke, she reached across the table grabbed the drink and huffed at me! How rude. She then bought me the correct drink and took our food orders which seemed like a chore for her. I couldn't believe how rude she was and how miserable she was, she didn't smile once. The food was nice however, if the staff weren't rude I would of liked to have come back.

This tiny cafe is a little gem in an alleyway. Not a 5 star restaurant, but rather a high-end greasy-spoon cafe. The service was reasonable, food okay and plenty of it, and the price was reasonable. One little problem, one of us could not eat tomatoes for medical reasons, so we asked for a "Bacon, Egg & Tomato" panini WITHOUT the tomatoes please. However, it turned up WITH tomatoes in it!

We went in on a fairly busy day but found a table straight away in the upstairs dining room. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and were over whelmed at the size of the portions!! I thought I would have a struggle to eat all of mine, but I persevered and it was well worth it. I would definitely go back there again.

I've been here quite a few times now as it's convenient and my friends like it. The food is fine, but serving staff are brusque. I always make an extra effort to be polite and smile, but this is met with cold stares. Whenever we pay, it feels as if they think we are try to cheat them. I don't like the cold atmosphere here.

I have been to cafe mocha several times , it has a friendly atmosphere staff are very helpful even when you have a fussy child, the food is great and really good value plenty of seating with additional seating upstairs and a few tables outside, i would recommend to families. FREE wifi

I was on my way to a three day golf break near by. As I was early I Googled for decent breakfast in Bishop Stortford and saw the good reviews. Found it quite easily and have to agree, breakfast coffee and staff all excellent. Good value for money and very tasty

Cheapest place to eat good food in Bishops Stortford. stopped by before going to Stansted Airport. The breakfast was so good we bought our take away sandwiches for flight meals too. The portions are huge!! The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable. We had to sit upstairs as the downstairs was packed and there was no place to sit. The cafe was extremely clean, including the toilets which is unusual. I would award them with the best milkshakes in town, still can't get over how delicious their Oreo milkshake was. 5* from me!!

Popped in for a coffee and a bite to eat, unfortunately I ordered a black coffee which arrived with milk in it so sent that back and didn't get a replacement. One waitress took another order from a customer on a nearby table then left the shop for several minutes without handing the order over. We paid our bill and they tried to charge for the coffee we never got! The food was ok but the staff need training and the owner also needs a happy pill. Not recommend as lots of better cafés around.

My wife and I visited Cafe Mocha for breakfast, before heading out shopping.We have visited other cafes in the area, but this one is the best.Friendly and speedy service. Well priced menu. Lovelly food - well presented. Also, a great cup of coffee and tea.

This cafe is great if you want a really good cup of coffee only £1 a mug!! Or a meal. Good menu covering everything from a sandwich to a roast. And it won't break the bank.Really recommend this place. The staff are really friendly too. A hidden gem, worth seeking out.
