Disappointed ! Pretty poor effort. Ordered our food and drinks and went to sit outside on the large riverside garden area. We were given a bleeper, which would go off when our food was ready. It didn’t ! A member of staff came looking for us, which was good, but i explained the bleeper hadn’t gone off, she was completely disinterested and almost made me think she didn’t actually believe me, or we had caused inconvenience when it wasn’t our fault, surely, I’m sorry about that wouldn’t have been too much. I imagine the food was reheated, so my wife had two very overcooked eggs and the roast meat I had was tasteless and tough. The thing that irked us most was the attitude of a senior member of staff. Sadly won’t be returning.

Six of us just had lunch here and it was superb! We sat in a little side room by the garden door which was cozy and perfect for the hard of hearing amongst us! The service was warm and friendly, the waitress was knowledgeable and careful with the gluten free order for one of us. The food was outstanding! Sunday roast is so often a disappointment but not this time. The beef was perfectly cooked, the vegetables too. The roast potatoes were crisp and the Yorkshire pudding spot on. Starters were excellent and the puds all homemade …. My lemon posset was absolutely delicious! Well done The White Pheasant…we will be back!

Me and my husband visited yesterday for lunch, I ordered shepherds pie,was less than impressed,it tasted awful and seemed as though it had been microwaved.Ordered a dessert which came without cutlery, the waitress forgot.I understand she was busy but it's not acceptable.

Service good as usual, carvery also very good as always, however the Easter Special menu desserts were nowhere near as good as the normal menu desserts, the hot cross bun bread and butter pudding tasted like a hot cross bun that had just been covered in custard. Your normal desserts are excellent, stick with them.

It is an absolute pleasure to visit a pub with well kept ales that are gravity served. If only more pubs would take the time to do this. There is also a selection of excellent sandwiches on tasty, fresh bread. The main courses were good. I recommend the Powters sausages.

We visited on a busy Sunday for a roast as we'd heard some good things. I have to say we were not disappointed! We did have a little wait for food but every table was full, and the food was well worth the wait. The waitresses were brilliant very polite and welcoming. The beef was beautifully cooked and a bargain at £19, especially for locally sourced beef. The Yorkshire pudding was huge 😆 If I had to offer some advice it would be the whole pub needing a spruce up with a lick of paint, I think once this is done it will make the world of difference. Will be back.

We stopped at this pub while doing a circular walk around Stretham. The greeting from the lady behind the bar was perfect. Bring a Sunday it was only a choice of a roast or the basket meals. We sat in the garden at the back and had scampi and chips. The food was excellent and very hot. The service was perfect and attentive.
