The Cherry Tree in East Cambridgeshire

Brought two friends here for lunch , terrific value for pensioners lunch and very enjoyable !

Food was poor, had to share mash and veg with others for a roast even though it states you get your own, not enough gravy, dry and chewy, not alot of food on plate for what you pay at all, kids meals chicken wasn't cooked properly, children didn't like the dinners at all and burgers were burnt, definitely won't be going there again

Very enjoyable meal at a great price- staff friendly and efficient.

Ate here last night, just squeezing a Sunday lunch in. Very welcoming to us and our dog who was spoiled with turkey trimmings and a bowl of water. Great portion sizes, meat and veg perfectly cooked. We’re heading back tonight!

Came last week for family Sunday lunch. Excellent lunch, both adults and children’s likes and wants were very well catered for. Plenty of space for children to run around. Thankyou so much. We will definitely come again.

Great value and top service too

We were in Soham for the week, had 2 meals at the Cherry Tree and couldn't fault any of them. The girls were polite and efficient taking orders and delivering food and drinks, the food was excellent quality, generous portions and served piping hot and at a very reasonable price. I have paid almost double elsewhere and not been as satisfied. If you are in this area a meal at the Cherry Tree is not to be missed.

Just been for the Seniors meal, the food was lovely, we had the 3 course, all arrived piping hot and really tasty, traditional food. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. Well done. We will be back in a couple of weeks, bring our friends.

Great atmosphere lovely food good place for a night out

I ordered some cheesy chips to take away, chips were cooked beautifully but barely any cheese unfortunately. The one complaint I have about the staff if all of the girls had fake nails, dangly earings, necklaces and bracelets with charms on. I have worked in hospitality before and none of these have ever been allowed I don't know why they staff are allowed off of these when it's a health and safety concern. The service they gave was absolutely lovely though, very kind professional staff just the uniform policy wasn't followed

Took a party of 14 and gave the menus the week before and we were served within a reasonable time all together and food was delicious and everyone agreed they would like to go again. Plenty of parking. It was very popular and would be advisable to book a table in advance.

Lovely outdoor seating. We had a drink outside, then came in for our meal. It wasn't very busy, so I had to say there wasn't an atmosphere. Apparently they usually have live music at the weekend. The desert was excellent. I had roulade

Food, atmosphere and staff are wonderful. It has a large play area and lots for the kids to do outside which is all enclosed. Definitely family friendly and Definitely recommend for food also.

Good food, service and reasonable prices

Arrived on a busy Thursday lunchtime, no reservation and 6 of us, they managed to fit us in and we were told it could be an hour before food arrived, we accepted this as we were not expected. Sat inside although could have sat outside as a nice day. Inside had table service, menus arrived quickly and drinks ordered. Drinks served quickly and food orders taken, good children's menu for the youngest in the party and our waitress was good with taking down each person's choices and their preferences I.e. no mayo or sauces on certain items, beans served separately in bowl for awkward child. We didn't have to wait an hour, I don't think it was even 30 minutes. Food was hot, good serving and tasty. Everyone was happy, including the youngest and most picky. Not expensive either. We learned from the visit that there are still good, relatively inexpensive places to eat. Good table service(indoors only), outside is take your order to the bar, which is quite normal and not an issue.

We visit the cherry tree often. I'm gluten free and I can eat several of the meals they offer. It is Very friendly, lovely service, good choice of meals and good value. We have always enjoy our meals here.

I would not go here again, I am a vegetarian and although in the vegetarian section it has vegetarian lasagna & chips you would think the chips were vegetarian, but they are not they are cooked in the same fryer as meat products. I found this out because I always ask about how vegetarian food s are cooked. I was told I could have them cooked in the gluten free fryer, I then asked about the vegetarian burger I was told that they could not cook it in the GF fryer and it would be done in the normal fryer which has meat products cooked in it. How can this be vegetarian, although they do curries and other meals which I do not eat my choice was limited. so if you are vegan or vegetarian check how it is cooked before you order it.

After the end of year for primary schools, a LOT of the parents decided to head to the Cherry Tree for the kids to run about and the parents to have a chat. It was busy as hell and the staff handled the evening superbly. Food was decent pub fair that was served very quickly, the bar staff were efficient and the atmosphere was great. We eneded up staying far longer than intended and we'll 100% be organising another 'Parents Evening' in the future.

There has been another change of management and I'm impressed. The redecoration has made a huge difference to the feel of the place, and the menu is much improved. The food isn't as cheap as it was but certainly better quality and taste. Will be back!

I went with my partner for a bit of kitchen bar snack food. Food did not let down at all indeed. I had a meat lover which hit all the spots for me. My fiancée had a cheeseburger and fries. For bar snack food this is amazing quality and for price.All friendly staff and a nice summer atmosphere in the beer garden. Also the dog was catered a jumbo sausage. Thank you guys..

Fairly priced and family friendly. Kids loved the bouncy castle that they have there Fridays. Now have extra outdoor seating.

Lovely place great food & good value with fantastic staff.

We popped in on our way home from the garden centre and had some lovely food. The service was very good and the food was better than we expected it to be. A nice place to go.

Absolutely superb meal, the pies are amazing. Service is extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone is genuinely smiling and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The pies really are to be highly recommended as great food and very reasonably priced. A big thank you to the kitchen and front of house staff. We eat here regularly and will continue to return. Our restaurant of choice when visiting Ely.

Great pub and restaurant, has large concealed garden with park and bouncy castle for the kids to be playing and safe

Went there yesterday for my son, 18th Birthday, nice pub good value food, there was 7 of us and all enjoyed the meal.

This was a second visit for lunch. We chose the pensioners menu and had two courses which we were very satisfied with. The standard of food and quantity is excellent and the price is exceptional. The staff are very attentive and the service very good . We will definitely be back again soon. Well recommended.

We stumbled across this place looking for somewhere to eat that we could take our dog. This has been a great find! Good food (even accommodating an off menu request for different vegetables), good service, clean and nice lounge area to ourselves with our dog. When the weather is warmer the outside area looks good too.

Good quality food at a very good price for the older folks. Pub style grub and three courses for a tenner. Priceless.

We love the Cherry Tree, it has a fantastic outside area for the kids to play and run around in, the food is great value for money and generous portions. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the service is really fast. We are very glad its our local and our daughter loves it there.

The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. We were greeted nicely and we got a nice table. The foods we saw were very well presented,extremely good value and enjoyed by all. Alot of making food good is its appearance on the plate initially, and the cherry tree doneca fantastic job on this. My only problem would be when I next visit is what to choose as they all looked lovely. Well done you guys!!!

We went here for a family Easter Sunday Roast and it was lovely. Good sized roasts, good value for money, cooked well and a good price. We will defo be returning. Everyone was smiling. Cannot fault it. Thank you

We have been twice for Sunday lunch. Food is absolutely delicious and the staff are really pleasant and friendly. You do have to book, but that shows how busy they are. Fantastic pub for Soham and great price. Well done.

I ordered the hunters chicken and it wasn't a real chicken breast, it was one of those reclaimed meat chicken breasts, shaped like a guitar pick. It was absolutely dead inside and they still have christmas signage up outside. Service was good although seeing the staff with jackets with writing notifying everyone they were staff on the back made it seem like they were about to take part in some kind of high school sporting event. Reminded me of being on the netball team. Lots of potential for that place to be amazing but it seems like management has given up.

Visited 5pm on a Sunday. Very busy but found us a table as we hadn't booked. Food excellent. Still had roasts on the go

We had a successful family birthday late lunch on Sunday for a family of 16. It was efficiently arranged. The roasts were all excellent even though it was late in the afternoon. Attention was given to our g.f. Participant. All the staff were polite and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. All in all a very successful afternoon. Many thanks to all. Vaughan Moll.

Waited a while for food although when came out was all nice and hot and tasty.

We visited here for Sunday lunch and the food was delicious! The roast was really tasty, the veg was cooked well and it was an ample portion. The only negative was the service was a little slow on clearing the plates, but the restaurant was busy, and the staff were going as quickly as they could. We will definitely return and I would recommend to others.

Loved the Cherry tree. Good service from all the staff. Food was well cooked and presented. A pleasure to eat and meet there. Good idea to book if you want a table for a special occasion. As it can get busy. I highly recommend the Cherry tree.

Cherry tree is a lovely place to come especially with kids as everyone is so friendly and now they sponsor soham town rangers which was a great day last year with the outside bar and kitchen open. Definitely worth coming as service and food is always great ☺️

Sunday afternoon roast. 5 meat roast highly recommended. 4 people, 4 roasts and 4 puddings plus extra roasted potatoes and mash. 3 beers and a soft drink all for under 120 pounds. Highly recommended and very good quality. Service was second to none. Thank you for a lovely relaxed experience. 🍻

Just the best place I've been in for years

Love the warm hub on a Friday morning eating cake and drinking coffee :) My son also loves his new football t shirt sponsored by the cherry tree 🍒 🌳

On a friday morning they have a warm space which my grandparents love going to. They also go for a seniors lunch which is great value for money. They always say how lovely the atmosphere is there and how friendly the staff are.

This place has changed over the years, but the past 2 years it has changed for everyone and becoming busier also espically with the warm space now on Friday morning which is becoming busier every week.

The food at this pub is amazing! Everything we had was cooked perfectly, presented nicely and tasted beautiful. It was very reasonably priced and the staff were lovely too. You couldn’t ask for more to be honest, except I was disappointed to not have room for a desert! Sunday roast VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Surcharge ? Why should you have to ask for it to be removed why does it have to be added in the first place?how many of your customers know they are paying this ?

Twenty one of us went from the Littleport Badminton Club. All of us were most impressed with the whole experience! From the friendly staff, the quick service, and above all, the standard of food! It was hot, tasty, from starter to dessert! The Christmas Party menu, three lovely courses for £22.95pp! We all thoroughly recommend The Cherry Tree, where many of us also go during the week, when seniors can get an excellent three course meal for under £10! Well done, all you hard working staff!

Great value. Lovely fish and chips

I don't live locally and visiting my parents we came for the Sunday Roast around 3pm, (to avoid the rush), and I was knocked out by the Food! The veg was bright and not stewed and the Lamb tender. The dessert, (I had Bakewell Pudding with a lovely berry sauce and proper custard) was also great. Good portions, all obviously cooked from scratch and more than worth the very reasonable price. The service was quick despite how deservedly busy the place was, and the Staff super organised and friendly. My Mum and Dad are regulars and I can see why. Right up there with my Mum's cooking and she doesn't have to lift a finger. Thank you!

We had a really nice meal here. They don’t take the standard Greene King menu, they do their own thing, and they do it well. My steak and ale pie was very tasty, big, and had lots of meat. Prices are reasonable too. They do automatically add a 10% service charge, but the landlord and the staff were all very friendly, and it still came out as a good deal, so I was happy to pay it. Excellent, we’ll definitely return.

Was ok, my mum who kindly offered to pat for the bill was a bit surprised with the automatic 10% extra service charge that was added on without asking. There wasn't anything on the menu suggesting that would happen... just be aware.

A great little spot on the outskirts of Soham, a pub that doesn’t sacrifice on the quality of the food and not overcharging for the drinks! In addition the staff are lovely and attentive, allowing us freedom when customising our meals. Lovely place if you’re looking for decent food but don’t want to break the bank!

Nice food, friendly pleasant staff, the only thing I wasn't happy about was the service charge! I always tip but I do not agree with compulsory service charges. Good service will always get a tip.

This is our second time of trying the senior menu. Again we found it very tasty and excellent value for money. Although it was very busy the waitresses were speedy, efficient and friendly. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.

After seeing all the reviews, we thought we would try Sunday lunch so we booked for 1pm. When we arrived, they had a sign saying 40 minutes for food then it went up to 60 minutes wait. There was no drinks menu! Staff were pleasant but they rarely came to the table to see if you wanted anything. Finally, meal arrived – we asked for roast lamb, we got what we think was lamb and beef both very dry they put a little gravy over the meat to hide this. The veg came out a little while after receiving the meat, Yorkshire pudding and a stuffing ball. 3 veg in 1 serving dish and cauliflower cheese in the same size serving dish – not everyone likes cauliflower cheese. We asked for mint sauce this never turned up! No one came back to see if we wanted dessert, couldn’t find anyone to ask for a bill so went up to the bar to pay. Didn’t want to leave a tip but they automatically put this service charge on the bill.

Hadn't been here for several years but wow how different a place can be, lovely food great service great place to dine with family and friends.

My mum and I travelled to this venue from Felixstowe Suffolk to meet up with my daughter who was traveling from Bedford. Unfortunately I didn't book a table a mistake that I won't be making a second time. This pub I would recommend to anybody from families to couples even single people. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, the staff are very polite and made I us very much at home whilst we had a couple of drinks out in the wonderful beer garden (which is very much children orientated) while we waited for a table to Become available inside. The food was absolutely worth the wait. Very fairly priced, big portions. I had roast gammon and the amount meat was very generous indeed. . We will definitely be going back in the very near future . 10/10 Ps . honeycomb cheesecake was amazing .
