Awesome pub with great beer and even better food

Lovely little local pub, the vibe and atmosphere inside is amazing. They dont have a huge variety of food to choose from but it was very tasty and they bought the food to use quick after ordering. They have a good variety of alcohols to choose from. We will be going back there again and again in the future. What stops it from getting a higher score is the fact the outside doesn't look overly appealing, it needs a tidy up and a nice clean up.

It was an excellent experience, the food was brilliant, the service was excellent. The atmosphere was superb. A very good around experience of a lovely pub.

The Village Inn, Witchford has now opened up again this afternoon, Fri 13th October. There are two managers in situ at present, so I am informed. Their information board outside shows many exciting upcoming events. They are also looking for kitchen and bar staff. May I say, good luck for the future and I hope the Inn proves a successful business to all involved.

Called in to ask if they would be open for dinner on the following Monday. The barmaid assured me they would however when we turned up pub was shut! Hard to understand this sort of behaviour! Pathetic customer service! They don't deserve to be running a pub in such a beautiful location! On talking to other villagers this is not the first time it's happened! We have told lots of local people of our negative experience!

Sadly, I have as yet, only made one short visit to the village Inn (hopefully to be rectified very soon!) I was blown away by how friendly and personable Tim the landlord is. I'm not so confident at going places alone to meet up with people but the lovely warm welcoming feel of this pub is so satisfyingly comforting!! I wish more places feel the same........ 5* and a MUST visit!!

Lovely local pub. Quite warm and cosy on a cold evening. Very nice owner too. Definitely recommend paying a visit and grabbing a few drinks.

Fantastic Sunday roast and a spot on atmosphere

Staff very pleasant but was disappointed in the menu, was hoping for a sandwich but other than a full meal the only option was a packet of crisps or chips. Sat outside which was lovely.

Lovely food! The best chicken burger ever. Lovely seasoned chicken breast with a crunchy coating. The homemade chips where fluffy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. The waitress was very polite. Not to mention the owner ,Tim. Most amazing, friendly person who would do anything for his customers.

Had to stop in Witchford as the traffic was horrendous going into Ely, and rather wished we hadn't. First of all it was freezing cold in the bar, even though I was sitting right next to the wood burner. Secondly, all they were serving was a sandwich or soup. We chose 2 bowls of soup, which incidentally were tiny and out of a carton, one coffee and one pint of shandy and we were charged £25!! Needless to say, we will not be returning...

Awful service awful Sunday lunch. I have never seen such a sorry dinner in all my life!! It was plonked infront of us, no offer of sauces or anything not even an enjoy. I caught the ladys eye behind the bar she came over and said "yeah doesn't look great does it" and took it away, then said over the bar that's all we've got sorry!

Best pub I've been to in a long time. Proper village pub. The food is excellent, the landlord is a proper landlord and makes you feel at home. The locals are a friendly bunch. It's a little slice of heaven. Wish this could be my forever pub! Oh, and there's parking too.

Good food and pleasant atmosphere

We was staying in the area on a break, and came across this pub, we had a dog with us and wanted to sit inside, they were very polite and accomodating, we ordered lunch, and it came out in good time and very nice. The hosts chatted to us and made a fuss of the dog ... Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Food was well prepared and a good price. The staff and service were lovely, beer, which I couldn't have because I was driving, was Timothy Taylor's Landlord - om nom nom. It's a proper village pub and on a Thursday lunch there was a decent number of customers in so clearly I wasn't alone in being impressed. I had a lovely chicken salad and my friends had fish and chips and lasagna. They enjoyed their meals too and the chips were fab. It was like eating round someone's house. Lovely.

The new owners are great company and they keep their real ale in very good Condition, a small but sheltered garden out back with sofas in, really worth a visit.

Not so long ago has been over took by new owners and cant fault them they are friendly and helpful never leave you waiting for food or drinks. I live in witchford and the village inn has never been as good as it now with new owners.

The food wasn't tasty. Poori and chicken curry had Chicken Manchurian gravy in it which didn't taste good. Chicken biryani was flavourless and over cooked tasteless chicken pieces

Due to covid we were not able to eat in the pub, and had the takeaway menu offered. The team there are really friendly and welcoming; and the food was amazing. A good range of food options were available. The nut roast was delicious - really flavoursome and a very hearty serving. Followed by a tasty homemade apple crumble and custard. Really looking forward to going back after the restrictions are lifted for a meal with the family. Very impressed with the welcome, delicious food and reasonable price - would definitely recommend.

I like this place and the staff so I’m probably bias.

Food OK. Driver was late around 45 minutes. Asked to get part of the money back cause it was dead cold. No refund. They wrote that driver was stuck in very heavy traffic! Where? Streets are empty. Not ordering again.

Excellent Christmas dinner there, can't rate the place highly enough for service and friendliness.

Hoggie was class- happy to pay slightly more for them from here as the portion is good. Really quick delivery too.
