Excellent place to moor your boat overnight and enjoy the lovely pub garden. A walk up towards Wicken fen is a must. We heard a bittern. The usual pub food was fine. Decent fish and chips

It is a beautiful setting by the river. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is pub grub at its best. Fast, hot, quality, and quantity. I had the signature ham, eggs, and chips. The chips were delicious.

Myself and my partner come here every week. The service is great with nice friendly staff, bands are good on Friday nights. We have had several meals here and they are gorgeous, the steak and ale pie is a favourite full of steak and flavour. It's a must.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and great views. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed inside.

Was told about this pub and thought we would give it a go. Service was brilliant. All the food we had was amazing. Came freshly cooked, piping hot and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Had an amazing lunch today, highly recommend the butterfly chicken with the creamy leak sauce 👌, The staff are always friendly and service is always on point, coming from a large family (14 people) there's a room at the side which is perfect for us and room for the little kids to roam and play, 10/10

Beautiful place especially in the summer months

Had a lovely mother's day lunch. Service was quick and friendly, staff very helpful with everything required, food was good and prices are very reasonable. Would visit again.

A good stop in the middle of the trail from Cambridge to Ely

Food good . We had lamb roast. Everything good apart from lamb very chewy. Other meats i know would of been ok. Service top draw. Will be back

We always used to go here as a family, for my grandparents birthdays every year also. The last time however, my partner who is allergic to mushrooms, asked what the curry of the day was and what was in it, we were told it was a lamb curry - sounds good; he ordered that as he often does get curries when we go out (they’ve never had mushrooms in when meat curries). When it arrived I saw it had mushrooms in it - luckily. So he went up to the bar as no staff around to call over; and he apologised but said he didn’t realise the meal had mushrooms and he’s allergic, the bartender (a male) said no problem I’ll remove the meal for you and choose another option - he chose a burger (no mushrooms) we waited and the burger came out he ate that - I was pregnant and struggling to eat anything due to nausea at the time so left most of my lasagna. Our daughter ate her fish and chips. I went up to pay at the bar again as no staff around to ask for the bill, and the woman came over to me (turned out to be the manager) and printed my bill - it had the 3 meals we ate on it and drinks - I said thank you and held out my card - she said hold on! You had the curry too didn’t you? I said oh no it had mushrooms so couldn’t eat that we wernt told it had mushrooms on asking what was in it. She said ‘it’s up to you to inform allergies not us to ask’ and she put it back on the bill and printed it - I explained we asked what was in it and we didn’t eat it and the kind bar man was understanding and removed it so that was unkind to re add it on - she held the card machine out and I paid it explaining we will never be back again. And we won’t. We’ve found new places to go instead. She was rude, and not understanding. I worked in restaurants over 10 years before becoming a health professional and whenever anything like this happened the meal was always removed - we want the customer to leave happy was the main thing. It’s been on my mind on and off so I thought I’d share the experience. What made it worse was one staff member removed it with understanding of our issue, if they’d stuck to the same rule of it’s your mistake we won’t remove it at all I might not have been so angry when leaving for her adding it BACK on, how unprofessional of a place to not stick to what the already done. I don’t miss it there and my family also now go to a new place for my grandparents birthdays in Ely 🙂 look after your customers better. After this event last summer all of the restaurants we’ve gone to since - I have noticed now ALL not just most but every single place ask if the table has any allergies - so yes it would appear that the server should ask as all others do - to the manager: go somewhere and see it yourself they really do ask everywhere else. Im not saying it wasn’t our fault but I’m saying because it was removed out of good will to put it back was awful service and just unkind everyone I’ve told has agreed 👍 we used to leave customers happy by removing anything they’re not happy with or couldn’t eat because people talk and bad press goes way further then good.

Came for dinner after work, had a nice meal but the restaurant was very quiet. I'd like to come back in summer as they have a nice garden near the river. Kids loved their waffles.

Quality cod and quality service

Another great steak meal, cooked by the Steve, I’m not a big chip fan but Steve’s chips are so tasty. Nice cosy atmosphere with the log fire on. The waitresses are always friendly and the service is very good.

Its always a pleasure coming here, every time i have a friend or family member come up this way i take them here and everyone is shocked with how good the portion sizes are and the quality of the food is great, all staff are very friendly and its a great place to relax, even more so in the summer when you can sit out by the river and just let the time go by, we go here regularly in the summer, would highly recommend to anyone 😁

If you can find it, then you will not be disappointed.

Situated by the river with lovely views. You don't book tables although it's a busy place there is always a vacant table. Worth a visit.

Always a nice welcome when visiting here, lovely location next to river, and lots of wild fowl in the area. Pleasure booats, Moor up next to inn, so nice to see. Food and service are excellent, and I can't remember having a bad time here. We usually visit if we are at our daughter's in East Cambridgeshire. If she asks where do we want to go for lunch, it's a good bet we come here, especially in the summer months. It's good to see that this special place survives all the changes forced upon us, and they are worth supporting and will always get my families support when we are in the area.

Lovely pub with food & spacious outdoor area with marina; beware sudden and very bumpy road if approaching by car from the Swafham Prior direction. The road from Wicken is much better. Good Sunday lunch options as well and lovely waffle pudding options as stand alone choice as well for nice afternoon treat.

We have had lunch here a few times and think it is great. The menu is really good with so much choice, you will definitely find something you like. The setting is beautiful out on the river, so if the weather is nice enough to eat outside then you should! The price is really good too, so a great spot for lunch!

Beautiful restaurant next to the river with some great views. Plenty on the menu to choose from and all priced very well. As well as good selection of beers and ciders. The food itself is great and you get a lot for what you pay for. There was a lot of staff on so didn’t have to wait long to order food and drinks. All the staff were nice and friendly and very polite.

Great pub on the Cam. Had the Sunday roast - a great option of the mixed roast so a taste of all the meats! Plenty of veggies too!

We used to go here often, we don't live near anymore so after a visit to Anglesey abbey recently we thought we'd go back, really disappointed. Tiny jacket potato with not much filling (cheap to serve so make it good) the chicken flat bread appeared to have anemic frozen microwave chicken prices on. Sad to say we won't go back again. 😔

Lovely Sunday roast, staff very friendly, very busy so delays in service, but not too inconvenienced. Overall 4.5

This place might be great in the summer, but they will not allow dogs inside. Instead, you sit in a glorified unheated shed. Plenty of free tables inside. No waitress service if you are outside. Food OK.

My partner and I took my Nana here for a little birthday lunch. We sat in the room with the glass walls which was lovely as we got to enjoy watching the rain and the river whilst being warm and dry. The food was nice, especially the steaks and my nana really enjoyed her scampi and chips. The staff were all lovely and very attentive and we would definitely go back.

Great pub. Hands down. Defo worth a visit. Distant location though. Live music every friday. Good food.

The best place to have lunch with a view of the Cam no matter what the weather. Everyone is super friendly, with efficient service, and good quality food.

NOT dog-friendly. Shame. Food - mains, OK but nothing special; puddings rather better. No atmosphere at all. Service was OK but not sparkling.

Good food lovely setting by the river

Just got back home after eating here tonight and the food wasn’t great and the table hadn’t been cleaned after a previous meal. The cutlery was dumped on it with sauces and I didn’t use my set as I am immunocompromised and not long got out of hospital. I ordered a southern fried chicken burger which was served with very little mayonnaise and a couple wilted strands of lettuce in a dry roll rather than a burger bun. The chips were pale and soft. My partner ordered a chicken curry served with a piece of bread which was described as a naan but looked more like a pitta. Curry looked dry. Needless to say, we didn’t finish our meals. I struggled to hear what my partner was saying to me as the background music was so loud. The chairs in the area closest to the river were too large and heavy for me. I couldn’t get comfy as the chairs are too wide and the back was too far back to enable me to eat upright. I am not a sloucher when I eat. Food is expensive for what looked and tasted like a reheated microwave meal. For around £30, you’d expect better quality. The waitress who served us was lovely, shame about the food. We will not be returning.

Not quite as oldy worldy as the name suggests but nice nonetheless and beautiful outside if the weather allows. Load of ducks so if you bring kids ask for a bowling peas. They will eat out if your hands.

Nice setting by the river, very tasty English breakfast and great service. Perfect stop when passing by on the river.

We arrived at the Miles from the Fen’s Way and we were with my dog, because the place is not friendly with dogs we had to stay outside and because of the rain we ended up under a shed space very dirty and not well kept. The food was good but the service and the stuff weren’t the best. The garden outside in massive and it’s in a very good position, like I said food was good and prices too but unfortunately having a dog on a rainy day also on Monday play heavily on this comments.

Great food and pretty setting as situated on the river. Various bands on some Friday nights, glam rock, 80's, country etc. Great fun.

The ambience is great, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is brilliant, the cuisine is highly recommended, the location is pleasant and picturesque, and that is why we chose the venue to celebrate a recent family event. On such occasions it is best to stay with the tried and tested. That we keep going back time and time again, is an indication of our overall satisfaction. We cannot speak highly enough of this establishment.

Lovely tranquil place on the River Cam. Great place to eat & chill out on a sunny summer afternooon!

Ordered rack of ribs. Came very quickly, too quickly to be cooked properly. Tasted like they were cooked in a bag. Meat was very poor quality. Perhaps OK for under a tenner but not 18 quid. Served with anaemic looking chips.

Lovely place to go. But some of our meals were disappointing. I'm gluten free. Not much choice of anything. Starter could only offer me a prawn cocktail. I don't eat any kind of fish. Soup was homemade vegetable my family said it was ok but watery. My dad's homemade curry wasn't nice, not much sauce. Tastles. My partners meal sirloin steak was fatty so he left most of it. Chicken Breast in a Cheese and Leek Sauce was nice Deserts were fine. I don't recommend if you are gluten free. We won't be returning.

My auntie & uncle bought my husband & I here for lunch as an early celebration for my 40th birthday. Plenty of seating inside & out along the riverbank. Very spacious. Staff were friendly & quick to help/clear tables. Food arrived quickly despite a couple of orders being ahead of us. Food portions & quality are worth the price & was filling.

We enjoyed our Sunday lunches. The roast dinners were good, as were the other dishes, lamb chops, and steak. The waffles were good for desert,and I enjoyed the mango sorbet. A lovely setting overlooking the River.

The only reason I give 2 stars is for the river fronted location. The food was shocking, poor quality, badly prepared and cooked. Salad was on the way out, chips tasteless and soggy and the rest was just poor. I remembered it being poor but decided to give it another go but never again.

Wonderful experience, situated literally 5 miles from anywhere sat on the river, very large seating capacity, and great parking, food was delicious and reasonably priced for what you get. Will be returning.

We were 2 families ( 9 people) meeting up on a Monday evening. Everyone chose something different from the menu, and we had no complaints. Staff were helpful.

Only enough moorings for about 6 boats on the pub side of the river. If you have a dinghy on your boat, there are more on the other side. Very large well kept outside area, with plenty of tables. A large conservatory and a large bar area. The food was very good, so was the service. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely spot, it really is five miles from anywhere! Lots of seating, great service. The food for 3 of our group, lamb, fish and chicken and bacon salad was lovely! However the chicken(?) skewer and tasteless rice was a let down unfortunately. I would recommend 🙂

Love this place, better than I remembered. I like the buzzer food collection system! So coupled with the company I had, it made for a most enjoyable afternoon! Will deffo return again to enjoy the vibe!!!

Five miles from customer service! Awful fish n chips. When I told the manager she was defensive and rude. Terrible attitude. However, the waitresses were lovely. Lunch ruined by the manager.

Great food and good service which we enjoyed so much we went there twice on our boating holiday. Be warned portions are large so make sure you are hungry!

Huge place loads of space with lots of tables. Due to conservatory extension, the bar area is very dark and in need of a refurb. Staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The chips were cool and dried up. The meal came out so quickly they were certainly not freshly cooked. I was a group of 4, two had chips, and both of us thought the same. Waffle desserts were great.

Been many times. Always excellent food. Love the views. Great staff. Quick service. Has live music most Fridays.

We moored here for lunch The welcome was friendly,the selection of drinks was good. The food menu is great with all food home cooked ,great choice and good value I also think the dessert menu is great. This pub seems to tick all the boxes for me and we will definitely be back.

We sat outside in the sunshine, the food was lovely and freshly cooked.

I cannot give more stars because compared to other venues this is not great. We had the pie and honestly it was overpriced and is probably on a par with motorway services. I cannot rate service because there wasn't any - after ordering, as we were seated outside, we were presented with an electronic pager and instructed to collect our meal when the pager bleeped - that is maybe efficient but not service. The meal was ok/edible but not good enough to order again.

Thanks again Jeff and Kaitlyn for helping me and another member of staff from the Edmunds trust support residents from Pauline Burnett house for a first visit for lunch. And many more to come. Second visit 11/5/24 food and service is excellent as always a few of the staff members will now be having the address as they are extremely impressed
