We used to go here often, we don't live near anymore so after a visit to Anglesey abbey recently we thought we'd go back, really disappointed. Tiny jacket potato with not much filling (cheap to serve so make it good) the chicken flat bread appeared to have anemic frozen microwave chicken prices on. Sad to say we won't go back again. 😔

This place might be great in the summer, but they will not allow dogs inside. Instead, you sit in a glorified unheated shed. Plenty of free tables inside. No waitress service if you are outside. Food OK.

My partner and I took my Nana here for a little birthday lunch. We sat in the room with the glass walls which was lovely as we got to enjoy watching the rain and the river whilst being warm and dry. The food was nice, especially the steaks and my nana really enjoyed her scampi and chips. The staff were all lovely and very attentive and we would definitely go back.

Great pub. Hands down. Defo worth a visit. Distant location though. Live music every friday. Good food.

The best place to have lunch with a view of the Cam no matter what the weather. Everyone is super friendly, with efficient service, and good quality food.

NOT dog-friendly. Shame. Food - mains, OK but nothing special; puddings rather better. No atmosphere at all. Service was OK but not sparkling.

It’s a cool venue with a on the edge of the world vibe. Been for drinks and food a few times. Feels a bit tired, but it is on the edge of the world

Just got back home after eating here tonight and the food wasn’t great and the table hadn’t been cleaned after a previous meal. The cutlery was dumped on it with sauces and I didn’t use my set as I am immunocompromised and not long got out of hospital. I ordered a southern fried chicken burger which was served with very little mayonnaise and a couple wilted strands of lettuce in a dry roll rather than a burger bun. The chips were pale and soft. My partner ordered a chicken curry served with a piece of bread which was described as a naan but looked more like a pitta. Curry looked dry. Needless to say, we didn’t finish our meals. I struggled to hear what my partner was saying to me as the background music was so loud. The chairs in the area closest to the river were too large and heavy for me. I couldn’t get comfy as the chairs are too wide and the back was too far back to enable me to eat upright. I am not a sloucher when I eat. Food is expensive for what looked and tasted like a reheated microwave meal. For around £30, you’d expect better quality. The waitress who served us was lovely, shame about the food. We will not be returning.

Not quite as oldy worldy as the name suggests but nice nonetheless and beautiful outside if the weather allows. Load of ducks so if you bring kids ask for a bowling peas. They will eat out if your hands.

Nice setting by the river, very tasty English breakfast and great service. Perfect stop when passing by on the river.

We arrived at the Miles from the Fen’s Way and we were with my dog, because the place is not friendly with dogs we had to stay outside and because of the rain we ended up under a shed space very dirty and not well kept. The food was good but the service and the stuff weren’t the best. The garden outside in massive and it’s in a very good position, like I said food was good and prices too but unfortunately having a dog on a rainy day also on Monday play heavily on this comments.

Great food and pretty setting as situated on the river. Various bands on some Friday nights, glam rock, 80's, country etc. Great fun.

The ambience is great, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is brilliant, the cuisine is highly recommended, the location is pleasant and picturesque, and that is why we chose the venue to celebrate a recent family event. On such occasions it is best to stay with the tried and tested. That we keep going back time and time again, is an indication of our overall satisfaction. We cannot speak highly enough of this establishment.

Great find! Fantastic location popped in for a drink by the river and judging by the number of cars this place is very popular for food as well.

Ordered rack of ribs. Came very quickly, too quickly to be cooked properly. Tasted like they were cooked in a bag. Meat was very poor quality. Perhaps OK for under a tenner but not 18 quid. Served with anaemic looking chips.

Lovely place to go. But some of our meals were disappointing. I'm gluten free. Not much choice of anything. Starter could only offer me a prawn cocktail. I don't eat any kind of fish. Soup was homemade vegetable my family said it was ok but watery. My dad's homemade curry wasn't nice, not much sauce. Tastles. My partners meal sirloin steak was fatty so he left most of it. Chicken Breast in a Cheese and Leek Sauce was nice Deserts were fine. I don't recommend if you are gluten free. We won't be returning.

The location by the river is nice but the food is not great. Burger was overcooked, bun dry and fries undercooked

My auntie & uncle bought my husband & I here for lunch as an early celebration for my 40th birthday. Plenty of seating inside & out along the riverbank. Very spacious. Staff were friendly & quick to help/clear tables. Food arrived quickly despite a couple of orders being ahead of us. Food portions & quality are worth the price & was filling.

Always a great atmosphere and good food. The staff are pleasant and service is excellent..

We enjoyed our Sunday lunches. The roast dinners were good, as were the other dishes, lamb chops, and steak. The waffles were good for desert,and I enjoyed the mango sorbet. A lovely setting overlooking the River.

Took a motorbike ride out there to Chillout in the garden on a Thursday evening to watch the sunset

Poor food, both plates, poorly cooked presented and the salad will be appearing on Antiques roadshow this Sunday. Great location and I’d go again for a drink but not food.

The only reason I give 2 stars is for the river fronted location. The food was shocking, poor quality, badly prepared and cooked. Salad was on the way out, chips tasteless and soggy and the rest was just poor. I remembered it being poor but decided to give it another go but never again.

Wonderful experience, situated literally 5 miles from anywhere sat on the river, very large seating capacity, and great parking, food was delicious and reasonably priced for what you get. Will be returning.

Awful food but lovely riverside views.. we had a roast for my birthday. Possibly the worst roast I've ever had.

We were 2 families ( 9 people) meeting up on a Monday evening. Everyone chose something different from the menu, and we had no complaints. Staff were helpful.

Only enough moorings for about 6 boats on the pub side of the river. If you have a dinghy on your boat, there are more on the other side. Very large well kept outside area, with plenty of tables. A large conservatory and a large bar area. The food was very good, so was the service. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely spot, it really is five miles from anywhere! Lots of seating, great service. The food for 3 of our group, lamb, fish and chicken and bacon salad was lovely! However the chicken(?) skewer and tasteless rice was a let down unfortunately. I would recommend 🙂

Love this place, better than I remembered. I like the buzzer food collection system! So coupled with the company I had, it made for a most enjoyable afternoon! Will deffo return again to enjoy the vibe!!!

Five miles from customer service! Awful fish n chips. When I told the manager she was defensive and rude. Terrible attitude. However, the waitresses were lovely. Lunch ruined by the manager.

Great food and good service which we enjoyed so much we went there twice on our boating holiday. Be warned portions are large so make sure you are hungry!

Huge place loads of space with lots of tables. Due to conservatory extension, the bar area is very dark and in need of a refurb. Staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The chips were cool and dried up. The meal came out so quickly they were certainly not freshly cooked. I was a group of 4, two had chips, and both of us thought the same. Waffle desserts were great.

Been many times. Always excellent food. Love the views. Great staff. Quick service. Has live music most Fridays.

We moored here for lunch The welcome was friendly,the selection of drinks was good. The food menu is great with all food home cooked ,great choice and good value I also think the dessert menu is great. This pub seems to tick all the boxes for me and we will definitely be back.

We sat outside in the sunshine, the food was lovely and freshly cooked.

I cannot give more stars because compared to other venues this is not great. We had the pie and honestly it was overpriced and is probably on a par with motorway services. I cannot rate service because there wasn't any - after ordering, as we were seated outside, we were presented with an electronic pager and instructed to collect our meal when the pager bleeped - that is maybe efficient but not service. The meal was ok/edible but not good enough to order again.

Lovely riverside pub. Really out of the way. Food excellent as was cask ale.

I loved my full english breakfast. The pub view is very pretty also. Lovely smiling service. Food was a large steak oval plate of food with proper sausages and thick bacon. Well priced also at under £9 a plate. There is a conservatory and outside seating by the river (although a little flooded in this visit there is also a separate buidling to eat in) Well worth the visit.

Excellent views of the river from the conservatory. Lunch was delicious with good attentive service. Cannot fault. Would recommend for relaxing meal with the family.

Regular lunch stop when taking the back roads in the area, as usual the pie was excellent and the service great.

I love this pub, bang up my street. Huge garden by the river, truck loads of waiting staff and tasty food. Normally go for a Sunday roast. Good choice and although not amazing. It's tasty enough to warrant a trip out there . Especially if your on a kayak/ canoe onthe river

both times i have been the food was absolutely awful. we booked for a big family on a sunday so we could enjoy a roast. i would not recommend at all the meat is so dry and the potatoes are like they have literally just boiled a whole potato and slapped it on the plate it’s the most tasteless roast i have ever had. looks and tastes like a microwave meal, the price is silly for what you get. i think they’re in need of an actual qualified chef my 2 year old could make a better roast than this,

Had lamb roast. Vegetables were so overcooked they were like mash. It's what I would call a sloppy meal. I did mention to our lovely waitress but still had to pay. The rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed their food

Very quite but a great oasis at 4pm on a winter Sunday.

Our full English breakfasts arrived quickly, and were really good, especially the sausages. A nice clean pub, great service and great views of the river. It was reasonably busy, for a pub in the middle of nowhere that says it all. We will be returning again for sure.

Service was good, food was awful. I have been here before and it was ok pub food but today was awful. Fish was so over cooke it had shrunk in the batter. Small amount of tater sauce and very watery. Chips looked like the small last chips left in fryer. My lamb was so tough I could not cut it. Potatoes were a little hard not other veg was over cooked. Fab location but establishment looking a little tired and shabby now. Very disappointing. We did tell lovely waitress and was offered free pudding, we declined. They then took lamb off the villas some was eaten, however it has shrunk and disintegrated in batter so not much to eat. Will now visit again

Food was very nicley cooked and came out quick HOWEVER lot of things including the red peppers used in their homemade burgers or salad and sauces with certain meals are not presented on their menu which is very very basically laid out.. due to an allergy with peppers and not being aware meal was very much wasted minus the side dish, despite speaking to staff about this was still told not their problem as its not s main allergen so therefore not presented for display! And to top off still charged full price for the meal in which couldnt not be eaten! Had to chase down staff when needed as were too busy spending more time talking to people at the bar or on their phones than serving customers! Wont be eating here again..

Excellent place to eat and meet friends

This place is an absolute treat, worth the dubious bumpy roads to get here! Looked for a place we could just walk in with a simple menu, this place ticks all the boxes. Had the biggest BLT Baguette I've ever seen for £6.95, incredible. Chicken and bacon salad is great as well. Service was fast and polite. In the summer this place would be amazing.

Great atmosphere in lovely riverside setting. All staff were excellent, cheerful and helpful. The meals were well presented, hot and very tasty. Great value for money. Will definitely return. Thank you to all involved in making our meal a lovely experiance

Lovely pub, lovely food. However, the owners leave a lot to be desired. Have spent a lot of money in this pub. Went every week sometimes twice a week and have taken friends. Noticed when owners were about, they completely ignored us. The last straw was the week before Christmas. Went for a lunch, and on the way out the owner was standing at the bar, saw us coming and turned his back. No thanks for coming,have a nice Christmas, nothing. I was fuming and decided there and then that we would not be giving that ignorant pair any more of our money. Have heard recently that they are leaving. Hope this is true because when they have gone we will go back. Other people we know who have visited this pub have said they found the owners to be unfriendly so it isn't just us. The other staff are lovely though.

Found by pure accident and so glad we did. Homemade lasagne which was homemade 😋 and a total dream 😋 😍 as for the chips 🍟 now these are by far the very best chips we have ever come across, absolutely perfect 👌 we also tried the chicken in cheese and leek sauce with potato gratin, another absolutely divine meal the taste was exquisite 👌 The only downside is we don't normally eat midday so couldn't manage dessert. We are going back in the next couple of weeks to try again, The service and staff were all positively friendly and helpful, food came out pretty quick and it was quite busy for a Friday afternoon in January and we are looking to plan a couple of group meals here as the location is stunning and overall one of the best places we have ever found 😋 Oh and they also do Sunday Roast.

Great food we had roast and crumble of the day

We come here every Christmas eve as we have a large family (14 in total) There's always room for us in the secluded bar at the back, brilliant for big parties, food was awesome, couldn't fault anything.
