It is an absolute pleasure to visit a pub with well kept ales that are gravity served. If only more pubs would take the time to do this. There is also a selection of excellent sandwiches on tasty, fresh bread. The main courses were good. I recommend the Powters sausages.

Excellent! Great value and delicious. Will be going again soon. Scampi was the most expensive thing on the menu at only £9.90 More scampi than you get in many restaurants. Large portion of proper chips and a fresh salad and slaw on the side. My friend had the whitebait that looked great and came with lots of buttered bread. The burgers looked good and a bargain at £8 including chips. I will be trying one of those next time. Several real ales to choose from. I had the Yardbird, which was local and incredibly well kept. They keep the casks in the back and don’t pull it through a line so it is as fresh as it can be. The new landlord has been at the property for about 6 months and he has been very well received. Can’t recommend enough.

Great to have an organised and efficient pub for provide lunch for our group of 27 walkers. We pre-ordered our menu choices at 9.45 and set off (in the fog!) for a 6 mile walk. Lovely warm welcome on our return at 12.30 with drinks and food served efficiently by the landlord and his staff. Popular menu choice was jacket potato with choice of filling and side salad at £6, plus range of other choices such as ham, egg and chips, all at at reasonable prices. This is a traditional local village pub with a good sized carpark at the side and outside covered seating area. Many thanks to Mark and his team for opening early to take our orders. (Please note this is a CASH only pub and the review from jerryhughes101 below refers to The Freston Boot near Ipswich which is cashless!)

I had a small accident near the pub. Was waiting and waiting for recovery to come. The time estimated kept getting longer and longer. I called the pub to see if they were open and to ask to use their loo. The landlady was very sympathetic and let me use their facilities without hesitation. Thank you! 👍🏼

We attended this pub following a funeral. Large car park. It was rammed. The welcome was very nice and warm. Excellent selection of real ales. Staff had laid on some excellent food. Really nice venue, well worth a visit.

Many thanks to the landlord and staff at The Boot for opening for our group at 9.30 on a Monday to pre-order meals. We walked 6 mile via the Devils Dyke across lovely countryside and were ready for our food and drinks on our return. The meals were freshly cooked on the premises from a very reasonably priced menu which included soup, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and fillings, burgers or sausages or Wiltshire ham, all with egg and chips. The pub is a traditional local village pub and ideally suited for anyone to just call in. There is a good sized car park at the side of the pub, outside seating area, and a large marquee for various occasions. The village green opposite the pub has a lovely children's play area and its only a few minutes to walk to the church.

When out on a walk (several lovely walks around Dullingham) we realised we would not arrive at The Boot, as we had planned, until after 2pm (food served 12-2). I called and asked if we could pre order and arrive a short while after 2. The pub were brilliant and agreed to help us out and we arrived to enjoy a lovely, much needed, lunch. Thanks to The Boot we had a great walk on a glorious day and fantastic food.

The purpose of our 2nd visit to this pub was exactly the same as the first, to get a fish and chip supper without travelling the 20 mile round trip to the nearest town. The first experience of the Boot was Ok, people friendly service ok and food was fine (you can't get really good fish in this part of the world as a rule so this was ok). A month later we return expecting a similar experience and to be honest we were surprised to find it remarkably worse. The staff were surly at best and the fish was straight out of a Birds Eye box. There was no freshly battered fish to be seen on our plates. A party of locals came in after us and miraculously the freshly battered fish appeared. I would rather have been told that they had under ordered than palmed us off with rubbish. Some local pubs in this area are incredibly welcoming....then there is The Boot at Dullingham

Being strangers in the area, and my husband having seen for several days running, a highly visible sign outside the establishment advertising " Fish and Chips On Wednesday Evening" he suggested we go there on the Wednesday to enjoy this traditional pub fare.as advertised. Imagine our disappointment when we arrived at about 6.30 pm and were told that they were full and that reservations are necessary. There had been no such advice on the advertising board. There was no other food available and It was not even suggested that we stay and have a drink. Although we had nothing to eat or drink I have rated The Boot as poor because of the ungracious manner and unwelcoming attitude of the staff. It felt as though we had entered a private club rather than a British pub.

As Sunday morning walkers we love the Boot for the real ale and have been lucky enough over the years to have arrived during a beer festival. Even without this bonus there has always been 4 hand pumps with ever changing ales.

wednesday night, especially in the summer, and it's a great place for fish and chips. the fish is fresh and firm and the chips are hot, crisp and not greasy. The beer is good and a nice sitting out area for smokers.

This is very much a 'locals' pub which serves food at lunch time & Fish n Chips on a Wednesday night [no meals on other evenings]. The food at lunchtime is always great and reasonably priced, and the Fish n Chips has really taken off well (we've taken away before and it's delicious). It's a shame they don't take bookings. We got there one Wednesday evening and they had sold out, so we just had a drink and left hungry. A tell-tale sign that it's popular perhaps, so get there early. Great surroundings, great local buzz (there are always people in there) and great food for less £.

This pub is run by friendly people. We had a very nice lunch here. My son ordered 3 small plates for his lunch and couldn't believe how big the portions were. We had to help him out and he's an adult! I had a tasty wrap with which I was able to have salad instead of chips but I had some of my husband's chips and they were lovely. Our lunch was very reasonably priced and included a drink. Not fine dining by any means, just a decent, friendly pub with reasonably priced food.

Really disappointing experience. We came for the Sunday lunch and the food was undercooked- the chef seemed to be coming out and telling people that it was the quickest service of his life- seems strange to me to admit that you rushed everyone’s food and then make them pay the same prices. The gravy was watery, the carrots and parsnips were raw and the potatoes were oily. I understand having bad days but it is unacceptable to charge the same prices when you are aware the quality is bad. There are far better places In Cambridgeshire to go for a roast- especially considering this one cost £20 for a single plate of food!!

Didn't stay but had dinner. Lovely chatty hosts. There was plenty of space, not too crowded. Special combo for burger and beer was a good deal. Handy to the shops and cathedral, parking just behind. Recommended by locals too, which is always a good sign.
