The best restaurants serving British food in Market Cambridge East of England

Visited for a day out and fancied a little snack before heading home when we stumbled upon the hallouman! Great customer service, friendly, exceptionally clean. A decent amount of halloumi for a very reasonable price. Incredibly delicious, definitely recommend!

We came to The Swoop for a cocktail masterclass. Fiona was amazing, a real laugh and her cocktails were so good. You could tell she had a real passion for what she did and we learnt so much as well as had a good time. Miles was also superb and did some more cocktails for us after. The fact everything was locally sourced was even better. I ended up buying everything to make one of Fiona's signature creations. We'll definitely be back and I highly recommend a class at The Swoop, or if you want some local alcohol as a gift or for yourself, you must check the shop out

A lovely experience, very relaxed set up. There is no booking but we managed to get a seat on a saturday evening.

The main chamber and debate room were beautiful, I went to an astronomy lecture here. The architecture and design and decorating of the place was beautiful with all original portraits and stuff on display, the library was also amazing! Only thing is the staff had no idea what they were doing...

The Elm Tree is a North Star of great selection, wide acceptance, and small wallets. Great bar tender, great beer, and great aesthetic.

The beer is award winning and the burger and fries made by chef Harry was better than Five Guys! Highly recommend a trip to the chestnut tree!

This was an amazing find one summer and now I always try them out whenever I find them. There are a fantastic variety of flavours - my favorite is the black pudding one - all crispy coating and lovely soft egg,,,,mmmm

We were looking for an overnight near Cambridge and came across the Blackhorse in Swaffham. We also had diner that was fresh fish and well cooked.

My partner and I had lunch at the Market House today and the meal was absolutely delicious. We had a choice of both British cuisine or Asian. We experienced a very high level of cuisine, service and attention. The house red wine was of a great quality and I would certainly recommend the sticky toffee and banner desert to anyone. Great atmosphere. Would recommend the restaurant very highly..

Delicious cakes and some coffee alternatives, like matcha latte.

Coffee shop was busy and just a few tables spare, spare tables had coffee cups, dirty plates over them. We sat down and had to ask the server to clear the table for us, nothing happened so I did it myself! Ordered a pot of tea, coffee and a scone. I had to chase up the scone about 10 mins later but when it came it was warm which was a nice surprise. Would I go back.. no, I experience was okay.

1st time at the Woolpack the pub looks great from outside and tradition feel in the bar, with a cosy warm fire. The bar staff are friendly and drinks and food order taken promptly. The starters were small and overpriced , they arrived and disappointingly they were missing the sauce, this was not mentioned on ordering or when the starters arrived, we had to go to the bar to queried this and were advised they had run out. We were still charged full price, which is disappointing customer service. We all had roast dinners these were very generous in all departments, meat and vegetables, with a large Yorkshire, they probably did not need potatoes 3 different ways, and the roasties were a little hard, ie not cooked fresh. but plenty of gravy. We had completed a long walk and were hungry. May give it another go, sometime.

Bill's Restaurant in Cambridge is a great place that offers an outstanding dining experience. We were a family of 8 who walked in and From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by beautiful decor creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food and drinks at Bill's were good. The burata, chicken burgers, sea bass and pasta were all very tasty. The seamless blend of good service, delicious food, and stunning decor makes Bill's Restaurant in Cambridge a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a simple dining experience with kids and family. Kids menu available as well.

Apparently it is possible to book whole rooms and reserve tables. We went to see the WWII Airmans ceiling to find the room full of Chinese teenagers all playing on their phones. Barely interacting with each other, let alone the iconic surroundings. Nice beer and friends staff.
