The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Came yesterday for a Sunday Roast. Poor quality food. The meat was like it was from a foil tray type of roast. Not proper Turkey breast meat. Frozen roast potatoes. Veg were disgusting and had a twang to them. Probably frozen . Cabbage was yuk. Parsnips hard and tasteless. The best thing was the yorkshire pudding. I wont be returning again. We gave it another try after saying we wouldn't return earlier this year. I had been coming to this pub for years but over the last year has gone right downhill. Don't waste your money. What a shame

Duck leg was perfect. Atmosphere great, and service. Not cheap, but very good.

excellent breakfast.. ladies were really busy, but we enjoyed the ambiance whilst waiting. Unlike some very unlikable other customers complaining loudly how they had to wait for breakfast. The place was rammed... the staff doing they best they can, with smiles on their faces. Excellent staff.. Great breakfast. It does get busy but what else are you going to do on a Sunday morning.. meant for lazy breakfasts. ( I also work in catering... sometimes people would be good to exercise patience and give the staff a break)

We went to have lunch to get gluten free pizzas, as advertised in their menu. However, they had ran out of the base pizzas. We found that very disappointing, as we couldn't enjoy the lunch we had booked for. I think this type of mistake is so easily fixable, just stock enough gluten free pizza bases, that a review was necessary so that this doesn't happen again in the future. Please, stock properly for your celiac clients. Thank you. EDIT: After returning to the premises we had a wonderful lunch. Thank you for inviting us to return.

Went here for a breakfast no salt or pepper or any thing on tables paid £9 for a breakfast no tea or coffee inc was very basic food and not much of it. I have had many breakfast.s all over and this was the worst so far

The place was really busy which made for a great atmosphere. Food I expected would be average based on price but a lot better quality than expected but the staff make the place what it is. Tracey hosted our party, personable service despite being busy. Nothing was too much,

We stopped off for a meal on the way home from work. It was a very nice setting and the staff were very helpful. The food was very good.

Best bottomless brunch around, excellent service food was good and drinks a plenty, staff always friendly and helpful

As usual Alyssia and Maddie were the hight of efficiency and Dave ( chef ) did his usual wonderful food. Can't recommend highly enough

Great meal, as usual, meeting old friends. This is our pub of choice in Boreham. Busy on a Friday night, but able to chat easily. We all love Duo of Chicken - a firm favourite.

Waited here at the door for 10 minutes. Staff acknowledged us but were too busy asking people how their food was/ delivering menus late to other customers. We left after not even being told if there would be a wait time (there were chairs free at the bar)

Yet again food missing from my uber order, 3rd time ordering and 3rd time missing items. When you call no one seems to want to help or acknowledge your order. Waste of time I shall be going elsewhere

The food was Beautiful, Great service- the staff were all really friendly and accomdating. Loved all the festive Christmas decorations.

Fantastic food and service! Special grilled haddock Warm lobster Crab Thermidor Mussels Rocky salad lovely, fresh and tasty. Homemade chips ace and fries lovely too.

Wow ! Another fantastic meal, every year we bring about 50 people , everyone’s meal was hot, service was fantastic so organised and efficient. We have booked again for next year. Well done to everyone, what a little gem of a pub
