This is my absolute favorite coffee catch up location. I enjoy bringing my partner here for dates or if we've just been shopping in Woodbridge or at Martlesham- we will try and stop by here if it's open for a pick me up. I've also brought family here who also think it's so lovely. I really rate the recent upgrades as well - makes it seem much more open at the front at the serving/counter area. Service always lovely, and prompt. Only downside for me is that the outside seating doesn't have a cover to protect you from any rain or sunny weather conditions if no seating left inside.

Crazy high prices for basic food and the sticky table was pretty gross. Some simple improvements needed and it would be nice but at £11 for a sourdough toastie which arrived on sliced granary bread I wouldn’t return.

I've been visiting the Barn Cafe on and off for years but it's been a while since I went in. Today I enjoyed a lovely lunch with my friend. Great, warm, friendly service, lovely presentation and delicious food and coffee. The interior is charming too. My mackerel pate was particularly good! We left with huge smiles on our faces. Highly recommended.

Turned up at 2pm after a morning at work. A sign on the door said last food orders at 2 30pm. No-one welcomed us, so we sat down and chose our food and went up to the counter. The miserable lady said they have cleaned up and not doing anymore food today, only cakes. Thus was our first and last visit here. 😔

I visited here Friday lunchtime and all the tables were full, the fact that a lot were reserved speaks volumes as to how popular this place is. There isn't a massive choice on the lunch menu but the food is delicious and good value. Good choice of drinks and a few farm shops nearby to look round after means this is the ideal place to grab something to eat and kill a few hours.

I have been going to this cafe for years and it has always been a treat for me but I have changed my opinion since my last visit. I had a cheese and ham toastie. Usually this is lovely and tasty, thick ham slices and real cheese, not now though. The ham was cheap thin sliced and the cheese was horrible plastic cheese that doesn’t melt and horrible and stretchy. Whether it’s to save money or make even more profit on these already incredibly expensive toasties who knows, I only know I will not be going back for food.

DELIGHTED THE CAFE HAS REVERSED ITS DECISION AND IS NOW ACCEPTING CASH AGAIN 😍 SO WE ARE NOW ONCE AGAIN ENJOYING THE DELIGHTS OF THE GREAT COFFEE AND WONDERFUL LUNCHES Sadly have to give the Barn Cafe one star for its recent decision to go cashless. Please reconsider. Say that you prefer card by all means but allow cash... lots of people have gone back to using cash to help them budget in these hard times. What about tips for your staff? What will you do when the card payments won't work? Close for the day, or will it suit you to use cash then? Reluctantly will be taking my custom elsewhere 😪

OMG!!!! Absolutely fantastic food. The last review said pricey fir a sandwich. Well, you don't just get a sandwich, it includes crisps and a beautiful salad. All food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. My mum had a brie and onion marmalade toastie. It came with a lovely salad and crisps. I ordered a savoury afternoon tea. It comprised of a cheese scone, amazingly fresh, a chuck of cheese, Stokes chilli jam, grapes, and a pot of tea which gave me three cups. My sister is vegetarian and had lots of choice from the menu. She plumped for avocado smash on sourdough with smoked salmonand loved it. Everything was brilliant. All bread was artisan breads and superbly fresh. Couldn't fault anything. Definitely be popping by very soon indeed. We even brought some cakes and cheese scones home as they all looked so amazing and they certainly didn't disappoint.

Today we had lunch at The Barn at Hasketon. We have been there many times before and really enjoy it every time. Today will be out last visit unless we hear of major improvements there. This is why… 1. The prices have gone up so much they have our prices themselves. £8.95 for some soup. £9.95 for a sandwich. And if you want tomato in your samebwich that will be another £1.60 yes £1.60 for a couple of slices of tomato!! If you want a luxury hot chocolate that will be additional 70p for cream, 60p for marshmallows! Want oat milk instead? That’s an extra 70p! I know prices of food have gone up but this is mad! 2. The service has gone way downhill. Staff are like deer in headlights when it’s busy, taking ages to serve, ages to clear tables, and a long time waiting for food. There seems to be no light atmosphere anymore which is such a shame because you used to be able to have a laugh with the servers. 3. This was the icing on the cake today. We always pick up a bottle of tap water for the table, and we were half way through drinking it when we saw mould! Yes there was MOULD in the bottle! We raised this with the staff but they really didn’t take this seriously enough. I’m sure it won’t harm us but to have mould in a water bottle at any restaurant/cafe is crazy! Someone did come back to us and apologise. And to say sorry they offered a small bottle of still water to take home with us. Wow! That’s not taking the mick at all is it. She then proceeded to say “don’t go reviewing us on Tripadvisor will you! People say some crazy things on there”. Hmmmm this made me want to write this review even more. So all in all it used to be great but process have gone up, whilst service has gone down. Followed by mould in a bottle and no one taking it seriously. Should I report to environmental health?

Visited for breakfast on a beautiful February sunny morning - once wet seats and tables were wiped it was lovely to sit outside! Drinks came along ok, however our food took ages to come - only to find one of our three 'meals' didn't :( when I went in to ask about it the waitress said she'd pointed out what we'd ordered - she didn't, one of the three of us would have heard! As we'd already waited so long, I then went back in to say that I'd just eat half my husbands as couldn't really wait any longer. I also felt I should mention that the food was very basic for the price, literally just two poached eggs on plain toast with zero presentation. I then had another staff member follow me out accusing me of being rude - I wasn't, only factual about the slow service, basic items for the price; she then went on to tell me she'd paid over £140 for tapas in London, her husband was a hard working farmer and she was wealthy enough not to need to work there - none of which was relevant to the issue I had had! Bizarre and such a shame as it used to be a lovely place to go!

I found this cafe while looking for somewhere to bike too with friends on a camping weekend. I called in on the cafe on the drive down but they had closed for the day so I called the following morning and booked a table. I didn’t want to turn up with friends and the place be full as it’s in a rural location and it would be a long bike ride to find somewhere else. The staff were very accommodating and lovely, the food was fantastic and very fresh. We will be returning and using a lot more as it’s local to family. A great local find 👌

My partner ordered Mediterranean quiche (see photo) It tasted as amazing as it looked. My Nana chose carrot cake and although her appetite is getting smaller, she ate the entire, generous portion. I opted for Ginger cake and I was not disappointed. It went so well with my chai latte. The decor, beautifully rustic, just how I imagined a barn cafe to look only this was better. Unique art on the walls, old fashioned chairs, very comfortable surroundings. We WILL be back that's for sure.

Authentic Pie, Mash n' liquor in Felixstowe - I popped in here after a couple of beers on the front - lovely pies, good old mash and proper liquor - knife, fork and spoon for the liquor, with vinegar, just like in London SE1 - interesting photos of England football stars and a bit of banter with the owner. All in all a great lunch and long may they thrive in Felixstowe.

If you want smashed avocado on sourdough with pea shoots and other unnecessary greenery then this cafe is not for you. But if you want the best quality full English, fresh unfussy honestly presented British and local food then you’re in the right place. Always a warm welcome, seriously tasty local food, simply cooked and unpretentiously presented. Today’s special were some seriously big juicy scallops which I had with my full English and they were an inspired combination and very popular. Thanks Sean for another outstanding breakfast. Keeping consistent standards like this is a real labour of love but it shines through in the food. Lovely breakfast and not an avocado in sight. PS a ‘greasy spoon’ this is not!
