The best gluten free fish and chips ever! The batter is light and crispy. The chips are the best! They have a dedicated fryer and the staff is knowledgeable about cross contamination. They serve GF fish and chips every Tuesday and as a coeliac, I feel safe to eat there. Thank you !

Visited Felixstowe today and became in need of nourishment. Chanced to see Hamilton Road Fish and Chips and took a chance to dine there. Excellent choice. Great considerate staff who prepared and served excellent food, all finished off with a good cuppa. From a couple of ‘oldies’ thank you very much - if we visit Felixstowe again, we will dine with you.

This establishment was clean and friendly. The price was fair. I didn't have to wait too long for my fish and chips which I was pleased about.

My wife is coeliac so finding good & safe Fish and Chips is a nightmare ! No longer as of 17th Sept 2024, Hamilton Road Fish & Chips now do GF every Tuesday ! We lunched there on 17th and the look of contentment on my wife’s face was great to see ! Delicious, safe and crispy as it should be, not dripping in oil ! Thank you guys - we traveled a long way for this (Mauritius) !

This is our local dish and chips since we moved here. Been 6 times now and quality of fish and chips has been consistent and top notch! Staff are efficient and friendly. Would unreservedly recommend!

We get our takeaway from here all the time. Food is delicious and the staff are all friendly and almost like members of the family. Keep it up!

Great service at 7pm on a Friday night. Batter on the cod was great. Chips were good and fair size portions. Will use again.

Graet chip's and very generous portions, tried the fish which don't suit my taste as it comes with skin on and is also very thin for the price, but I do come from Yorkshire where all the best fish shops are, but I have to say the chip's from here are better than any I have had in Yorkshire, but the fish sadly don't compare.

When in for fish and chips, fish was cooked. Plenty of chips was good. Reasonable price. It's very clean. It's tidy. The staff are very nice enjoyed the fish and chips. Fish was golden brown and The batter was really crispy. It was an enjoyable fish and chips

I've been using this chippy since it opened, I use it once or twice a week either for fish and chips/burger or just chips. I don't believe the negative reviews as the portions are always very generous and great quality and cooked to order. The chips always come in trays not paper. Its a chippy not a restaurant as such although there are some tables and chairs outside

ORDERED 2 SAVALOYS AND PORTION OF CHIPS !!!!! £9.50 ??? REALLY £9.50......WHEN GOT IT HOME PUT ON PLATES, MY WIFE AND I HAD ABOUT 2 CHIPS EACH A BITE OF THE SAVALOY AND THEN THREW IT ALL AWAY, THE CHIPS WERE TERRIBLE AND THE SAVALOY LIKE MUSH, IT SEEMED LIKE IT WAS ALL LEFT OVER FROM THE LUNCH SERVICE, WOULD NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN.........TERRIBLE THESE PEOPLE CANNOT HAVE ANY PRIDE TO SERVE CRAP LIKE THIS

Thought we’d try it again. Service was quick & food looked nice. But we both said, it was the most tasteless haddock & chips we’ve ever had! I asked the girl serving if she had put salt & vinegar on as we’d asked, she said she had but hadn’t which made it even worse as we were taking it to the seafront. Won’t be returning, waste of £21

Lovely fresh cod cooked to order with nice chips - perfect. The mushy peas were a bit flavourless (but that didn't spoil it) - I should have tried the homemade chilli sauce. Cash only.

Piping hot delicious fish and chips. Very clean establishment, efficient and warm service, fish was extremely fresh and the batter was lovely and thin, flavoursome and with a lovely crunch. Highly recommend.

Have now visited a few times and every time received great service & top quality food at a very reasonably cost.

Not very nice I’m afraid extremely small portion just thrown on the tray and greasy. Very expensive for what we received it was far cheaper on the sea front.

Pre ordered fish and chips for 10 which was ready just as I arrived to collect so excellent timing. Quality was excellent with generous portions. I always find the staff very efficient and polite.

Popcorn chicken was the best i’ve had by far, chips are the best chippy chips i’ve had as well. The curry sauce was also great - not too watery like some other places. Very quick service for what i ordered and fantastic customer service from very friendly staff.

This Chippy is a little way off the Beaten Track but its much better than what is on offer on the Sea Front! The Chips are well cooked and very tasty, hot and plenty of them. Very nice piece of Cod, Flakey and cooked in a nice Crispy Light Batter.

Today we had fish and chips from here . Freshly cooked to order. Large cod is exactly that large . Will be using this one from now on . Really enjoyed our meal .

Quite a pokey little establishment when it gets busy but the staff are friendly, the wait times are minimal and the food ticks all the boxes. I go fairly regularly.

Had friends around from Germany and The fish and chips takeaway i use was closed on Monday. Tried Hamilton but wish I waited till Tuesday. undercooked fish. It had a nasty fishy smell. This was extremely off-putting and after a couple of bites we daren't eat it. (The flavour of undercooked fish was awful). Mushy peas is so green and so obviously it isn't homemade. Sauces and everything is maybe ok for some who likes cheap and cheerful but never again !!!

Had cod and chips, fish was cooked to order it was lovely. chips were nice too would definitely return. Had fish and chips when they first opened a while ago and did not enjoy, but they have now got it right . keep cooking to order keep it fresh.....

We bought cod chips and scraps today. The fish was cooked to order and looked amazing. The medium size is quite generous. We were concerned that a lot of fat had leaked through the paper and we then expected it to be awful. But, how wrong we were. It was the best fried fish we've had in a long time from anywhere (and hubby was a fishmonger). The chips were ok, happy enough with them. And they did scraps-which was great! Top marks for not using polystyrene!!

Really disappointed by this place which was recommended. Just purchased a sausage and cheesy chip. Chips soggy even before they added the cheese and proceeded to microwave them, if the chips are hot enough they’ll melt the cheese naturally. The sausage was look warm and had been ready a long time. Definitely not worth another visit, I binned the lot £5.25. Unsure how they manage so many positive reviews.

Cod and chips….. chips lovely…… cod was horrible, fillet was dark brown and not the usual white, tasted of old oil and smelt very bad! In the bin.

Visited on August 12th. Food was superb and cooked to order.

Chips we very good and decent fish. Someone had a fall near to the shop and the owner rushed out and gave the lady mineral water. Best we've had in Felixstowe and many are charging restaurant prices for take away food. Hamilton's is both cheaper and better!

Reasonably priced and fair portion sizes. The chips were cooked perfectly, the fish was ever so slightly dry but all in all a tasty meal.

Different day, different choices with same good quality food and very friendly service. Haddock instead of cod, wow all fresh cooked and good value for money too. As this business is away from the sea front and top end of Hamilton Road it is possible most looking for fish and chips do not get this far, shame as they are missing possibly the best in town for quality, quantity, service, choice and value for money. Can't wait for our next visit.

The food is really good, just every time something on the order is missed or messed up which spoils things.. I like the food but will now try somewhere else due to this Shame

Brilliant fish and chips and extraordinary pineapple fritters. Little bit of a wait due to popularity but well worth it.

Busy service due to the bank holiday and queues everywhere. Everything was cooked to order and fresh. Staff polite and friendly. They operate a covid secure service using a numbering system to track orders and keep people at a distance. Fish and chips were tasty, but I got a lot of the ends of potatoes in with mine so that is why the average score. Otherwise ok.
