Service was good. Atmosphere was good. Unfortunately the food was mediocre. Bread sticks were dry. The chicken liver pate could be improved on. The chicken was dry. The fish pie was disappointing mushy and I felt it had been sitting to long. It was very expensive to.

We had a lovely dinner here this evening. The team were so accommodating and welcoming with our 2 dogs & baby. The vegetarian menu was excellent. I had the curry and wouldn't highly recommend. The deserts were to die for, one of the best brownies I've had. You can tell it's homemade. Food presented & tastes to a very high standard. Would certainly return when we're in the area. A must for anyone who loves their food in a nice relaxing pub. Dog friendly too with lovely treats available to buy.

Update - have been back four times this year as not local for us. Took the whole family for my special birthday celebration, it was wonderful food was great as always, just returned from another visit the roast is my favourite, the pub is dog friendly an added bonus. Would recommend We have been fortunate to visit twice this week, we thought the food was really nice my husband choose from the specials board, King prawn linguine which was very tasty I had the fish and chips which were really good quality the fish was fresh and the tartare sauce was the nicest I have tasted. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The range of bears from different breweries a real bonus. We thought we would go back Sunday for a roast and was not disappointed between us we had the beef, lamb and pork no complaints all very nice, I had the beef it was so tender, the veg was cooked to our taste and the gravy was delicious. My husband was delighted with the trio of deserts. Highly recommend a visit to the establishment, we will certainly be back.

Roast dinners were nicely presented and delicious but portions were small. Desserts were also delicious but didn’t like the way the bill was presented a few minutes after our table was cleared - (we hadn’t requested it) and again a couple of minutes went by and the device was brought over for us to pay so felt a bit pushed out really.

This Queens head has once again surprised me, not unexpectedly. Everything they do is always 110% From my first visit and a couple of reviews that l have posted. The Queens Head has continued to impress me. I visit local pubs locally and I can honestly say without reservation this establishment is by far the top of my list. Apart from the normal top quality food they are now offering the most amazing Pizzes bases are also made on the premises on a Monday & Tuesday. They are freshly cooked on the premises and the Pizza bases are also made on the Premises by Kate the Landlady. On top of all this the normal evey Day Menu here is ready good and freshly cooked to each order with the freshest of ingredients. Add to all this the well appointed, comfortable interier, seroudings and the exceptional welcome from Kevin, Kate and their team is second to none. I have to add I am not connected to this establishment in anyway. I judge on my personal experience and visiting a normal establishment in the area. Add to this the various food awards and the most recent entry into the The CAMRA Good Beer guide. So l am not on my own in recognise that this establishment is really something different. I can certainly recommend the Queens Head without exception. It's about time Trip Advisor recognised the Queens Head and give recognition that it deserved . Dennis Peel

Not the best way for a couple to spend 2.5 hours on a Saturday evening. Dreadfully over cooked sea trout with, at best, blanched vegetables that were described as tender cooked! Not surprisingly, not once during the meal were we asked if the food was okay. Service was very slow due to insufficient staff for the number of diners booked in, and over attentive service given to the regulars around the bar. A very unprofessional leader in the bar could be heard shouting from the bar at the young (female teenagers) waiting on staff. Perhaps, rather than chatting to the locals she could get out to the tables and demonstrate / train good practice.

I have travelled a lot and am very particular about food because I love it so much and it blew me away. The menu was unusual, full of quirky options and not too long. Not your standard pub offering. I had the Thai style sea bass with rice noodles, followed by the warm ginger sponge with coconut ice cream. I wish I lived closer, I would be a regular! If you like good food, don't miss it!!

We made a booking and requested an accessible table. When we arrived we were shown to a table down a flight of steps. Managed to get a table outside, good job the weather held up! The starters we had were great, tasted amazing and were presented beautifully. We all had a Sunday roast of some sort. I had the due of lamb which was pretty disappointing, very small portion, the shepherd's pie had obviously been reheated and it was very dry. The slices of lamb were pink which was great. Not much veg though compared to the standard roasts. Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes on the standard roasts were hard and potentially frozen. Puddings were a but pricey so we didn't bother. Service wasn't great, felt like we were forgotten about and like it was a hassle for people to come outside to serve us. Overall bit of a disappointment 😞

A welcoming place where the bar and waitering staff were excellent. Our dog was relaxed and accepted immediately within the bar eating area and we were shown a table that suited, well, our needs. We chose the duo lamb main meal each at £22. Our drinks were very agreeable, my wife having a bottle of Kriek Cherry Ale and an Aspall cider, myself a Green Jack's Orange beer. Most enjoyable. The meal itself was very well presented however, in our view, small in portion. The miniature shepherd's pie and vegetables were well cooked and tasty however the rump of lamb was chewy which was surprising as it was declared as being marinated. This was disappointing although the waitress had no hesitation in changing both plates for another cut of rump. However the replacement was no more enjoyable and we question if the cut was rump anyway? This dampened our enjoyment of the visit however the premises inside and outside were meticulous and we would recommend the Inn for a drinks visit at least and with the expectation of having a meal, that the prices reflect a better culinary experience than ours this time, thanks.

My wife and I came here as part of a weekend get away from London. Firstly, the food is fantastic! I was particularly impressed by the dessert. A lot of pubs don’t make an effort with their puddings, but this one brought us delicious home made desserts. The staff were also lovely. I had a very engaging chat with one of them about their sign, name, and the reasoning behind it. Everyone was really friendly and happy to chat. This pub serves gorgeous, home made food in an extremely pleasant and welcoming environment. Throw in the beautiful location, and you have a place well worth visiting. The service was really good, the best we have seen in some time. Nicely busy but we didn't feel rushed or like the staff coulsnt handle it. Deserts were really nice, we would have preferred a traditional Cheese cake to one in a glass as the biscuit base was a bit dry. However, still tasted nice. A lovely setting and a good range of dishes to choose from. The main courses were lovely, including the slow-cooked beef, chicken supreme and soup. These all tasted great. Nobody in our group of five had any complaints. The location is a lovely setting, with a log burner and contemporary-meets-traditional ambiance in the bar and restaurant. This was well balanced. I found it to be a tad expensive. Including, £16.50 for a quiche £18.75 for a chicken supreme. I appreciate that prices are more than just the meal themselves, but still when all things are considered, I found that these prices raised expectations too much and led me to cut back on drinks. A few areas which prevented a five star review: - the waitress was very attentive, but needs to relax a little. Be calm and less intense, as she did a great job but was coming across as trying too hard. - I personally did not like having a 'dog menu' on the same page as the ordinary menu. Reading about dog's dinners put me off selecting my own food. - the crumble dessert needed more crumble, as it was mostly filling.

Really disappointing visit. We booked on Friday for 7 people at 6:30pm Saturday evening. I suggested this pub as we came a number of tiles 19 years ago and loved it.We were seated and another table of 9/10 seated after us.They were given priority ( maybe locals) , we are from Southwold, not seen as locals. We looked at the menu ( one on the website) and we were really disappointed that the beef dish was all sold out. This is poor organisation on behalf of the management. I heard the young male waiter tell the table of 9 that there were only 4 main menu burgers left and we asked him to book these out for our guests. We then panicked and asked him what else was low and he replied that the beef was nearly out.We then put in that order only to be told by the management that the table of 9 had he last beef. In future, communicate to large group bookings limited dishes before they arrive,so they can decide whether it is worth arriving. Secondly , an hour wait for food WITHOUT any communication to us is poor service. We paid our £200 bill and my friend tipped the waiters who had worked. The management need to go on a hospitality training programme.Shocking.

Fantastic Establishment. I drop in to the Queens Head just for a beer. So glad l did, what a breath of fresh air so different from the norm! Lovely welcome, one of the owners, the Landlady even helped me find a parking place and l recieved a really nice welcome. I was asked my name and when l got inside l was introduced to the an equally welcoming group of regulars. I have now returned 4 times and l am more than happy to become a regular. There are a number of local and National beers and ciders on offer. All are extremely well kept and served by helpful and welcoming team.. The Landlady certainly knows her beers and is so knowledgable and enthusiastic about local and National Beers and Ciders. The Queens Head is like the Tardis with various rooms all individually and tastefully furnished. There is also a large well kept Garden with plenty of tables. The food offering is also different from the Norm and offers the odd fish dishe, all nicely cooked and well presented. Price wise the Queens Head is certainly very competitive to anywhere local. I live Locally and have experience a number of local hostelrese. A couple of these are fine. However if l am honest, The Queens Head will take some beating. Such a great on going experience. Regular entertainment and food themed evening. From Friday 21st until Sunday 24 September 2023. With over 25 crafted Ciders and beers. Again local and national Breweris will be represented. !The advantage of simply booking and turning up is that one is not bombarded with 'how did we do?' emails, so this comment is there because it was a great, enjoyable experience without the need to be ratified by some on-line robot. The problem with The Queen's Head is that it has been AWFUL in the past so the new owners have a lot to live down but they've done this simply by providing great food, great beer at fair prices in a lovely setting and (major plus coming up) they welcome dogs and we have two of them: large ones. They even realised that the music (the BAIN of most restaurants) was too loud and turned it right down. I'd love for it to disappear altogether, it detracts from the food and the ambience. Great vegetarian and vegan choices. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

We went for lunch at the Queens Head and had a lovely visit. Very polite staff who made you feel very welcome. I had the prawn starter which was nice and my wife enjoyed her hummus. My fish and chip main was lovely and my wife enjoyed her scampi. Good background music as well! If we are back in the area again we will visit again!

Great roast pork. We found the Queen's Head after being disappointed that everywhere we tried in Southwold and Walberswick didn't do Sunday lunch during the summer months. Highly recommended. Excellent waiting staff too.

Had three starters to share, fairly priced, decent sized portions (except the tiny chicken wings) and was pretty tasty. Food came out quick and hot and presented well. No issues just have had tastier food elsewhere. We love the owners response to criticism on here so had to leave a review ourselves.

Great starter salt and pepper squid and Mediterranean tart. Main meal prawn and crab linguine.. disappointed. Tomato sauce with what seemed liked spaghetti and a few bits of prawns.. couldn't find crab.. that's it.. oh and the bread and butter was OK. But the dessert was so lovely.. not too sweet..sticky toffee pudding.. both had starter. Main meal and dessert. 1 drink each . Large wine... 10.40 !! And gin and tonic.. total bill ... 81.00.. had meal night before. Somewhere else. Again 2 starters. 2 mains. 2 desserts. 2 drinks.. 69.00... preferred night before meal..

Café has been closed for a few days for wall and beam repairs as it is a listed old building but fortunately is now open again. This time back for a cappuccino and a cake.

Authentic Pie, Mash n' liquor in Felixstowe - I popped in here after a couple of beers on the front - lovely pies, good old mash and proper liquor - knife, fork and spoon for the liquor, with vinegar, just like in London SE1 - interesting photos of England football stars and a bit of banter with the owner. All in all a great lunch and long may they thrive in Felixstowe.

If you want smashed avocado on sourdough with pea shoots and other unnecessary greenery then this cafe is not for you. But if you want the best quality full English, fresh unfussy honestly presented British and local food then you’re in the right place. Always a warm welcome, seriously tasty local food, simply cooked and unpretentiously presented. Today’s special were some seriously big juicy scallops which I had with my full English and they were an inspired combination and very popular. Thanks Sean for another outstanding breakfast. Keeping consistent standards like this is a real labour of love but it shines through in the food. Lovely breakfast and not an avocado in sight. PS a ‘greasy spoon’ this is not!
