Fabulous owner and team. Service is prompt. Great atmosphere. Breakfast is fantastic and value for money.

A nice little Italian café who cannot make a proper Flat White coffee, they made it as a milky coffee. Surely we should have standards that make a Latte, flat white ETC all the same wherever you buy them that way we know what we are getting & paying for. Please look again how to make a proper coffee.Based in Southdown Harpenden the village is badly let down by the Council, from the two main railway bridges to the kids play ground its full of weeds, overgrown grass/hedges & the litter build up is a disgrace. I thought about living their at one time but not now, it's being let down badly & this only encourages more social problems to the area. Why is the Council allowing this mess, it's certainly not fair on the residents or those who come to visit.

Me and my friend visited here this morning as previously 2years ago we had an amazing breakfast and reasonable price. Today requested bubble and squeak literally a desert spoon full arrived the sausage tasted like been cooked previous and reheated. Me and friend have been not feeling good since visit. I will not recommend.

Definitely recommend, good service, friendly staff, swift delivery and lovely food at a reasonable price. Will be ordering again.

Was trying to order online and found them overcharging by £10 on 1 platter dish. Very dishonest. Times are hard we should be pulling together, not robbing your customers. We know you pay company fees like you pay for credit card machine fees but you don’t overcharge because I pay by card in shop so why online! Lost my custom.

We have ordered a takeaway from Cafe Aroma and the food was really fresh and tasty! Their homemade bread was really good too.

Best Turkish food I have tasted in the UK !! I have lived in London and in Oxfordshire , visiting family in Harpenden we ordered and collected some food from Aroma . Everything is gone made , I would highly recommend the Lahmacun , the grilled meat and definitely the homemade baklava which is probably the best Baklava I have tasted in the world. Absolutely 5 stars. Harpenden you are a very lucky town to have this gem here !

Have eaten a number of times for breakfast (yes, okay, sometimes as a hangover cure), and more recently have had a few evening take-aways from there. I really like the Turkish food - particularly the mixed kebab and the Mangal specials. It has great flavour, and really tastes of being cooked over the charcoal grill. The chilii sauce is also lovely. Oh, and the baklava is as good as any i have eaten.

We had our first takeaway from Cafe Aroma 4 weeks ago and were so impressed with the quality, authentic flavours and freshly baked, fluffy pittas and available locally. A friend and I had a tasty lunch there 2 weeks ago when the chef kindly made a special veg dish especially for me. Distancing is maintained with sanitiser and scanning for COVID app is available. Great to have a little local cafe serving tasty Turkish food in S Down. The owner is enthusiastic and friendly.

Excellent Turkish food in the evening. The Mangal Special 1 is epic and great value. It’s enough for 2. The owners are always very friendly and spoil my daughter.

Cafe Aroma now have an evening menu, I believe they are open until 10pm. It is great! Tried it for the first time last night and the whole family was very impressed. Good price, fresh food and great taste, highly recommended. You can eat it or collect.

Visited this cafe on Friday, we were surprised how friendly, clean and tasty the food was. We will definitely go back again.

Third visit today to our new favourite cafe. Good menu choices, excellent quality, and so nice to support a local family business. I would definitely recommend this cafe if your are in the Southdown / Harpenden area. Free parking behind at the Co-Op or limited on street parking nearby. Love the veggie breakfast for only £6!

The service was OK & a wide range of menu, the price in my opion is above average.I have since found that the Cafe has requested the removal of OUR post box as they wish to put tables & chairs outside. To me this is wrong & I will no longer give them my business, currently at least once a week more when friends pay an unexpected visit. I will go next door but one

Cafe Aroma is more than your standard local cafe. The food is fantastic and there is a variety of dishes to try, especially the all day breakfasts. The staff are extremely friendly and approachable. The owner has an amazing ability to speak to every customer as if she has known them for years, which makes the cafe a homely place to visit.

The staff are always polite and welcoming, I make sure to come here at least once a week. The food is delicious, a huge variety of options, all for very good prices and it comes really quickly. Would 100% recommend!

Cafe Aroma has become a regular breakfast spot for us. The food is plentiful, not at all ‘greasy spoon’ and has a big menu choice for breakfast or lunch. The owners and their staff are lovely and the cafe is always clean and has a good mix of everyone; workmen, families, couples and seniors. We always feel like valued customers. Great value too!

Popped in this morning breakfast. Was served. Personal by the owner and nothing was to much trouble. Amazing coffee and the freshly squeezed orange juice was out of this world. The food was good - nothing special but the service more than made up for it. Would highly recommend.

A pleasant surprise in a small English village. The best home italian cooking since my mother's! Bolognese and lasagna extraodinaire!extraordinaire! Give yourself a lunchtime treat.

Great little cafe!! They serve a fantastic breakfast, my son couldn't get enough of it. All of the staff are friendly especially the blonde waitress Rosalind. Will definitely be going back!!

We have been here a few times now for breakfast as a family. Always very aaccomodating for a family and have never had any issues. Food was served promptly and was lovely. Very easy to sort any issues such as the hot chocolate being too cold (we had asked for a cooler hot chocolate for our son but he said it was too cold). Seemed like nothing was too much trouble for them. Will return again I'm sure!

On the whole a good little cafe with friendly staff. The breakfasts are very reasonably priced, the only thing I always say to them is they need better quality sausages, everything else is very good!

I went with a party of six. All food good, but not much gluten free choice. Reasonable value,worth a visit if not GF.

Been visiting regularly with friends for 6 months for lunch. Food is always very fresh and excellent quality. Staff are friendly & helpful. Comfortable, clean surroundings. Great choice on menu. Good for coffee and cake or lunch. Generous portions.

Teníamos prácticamente dejado de venir aquí por el ambiente, bastante raro (comentado por otros) y entrega de alimentos. inconsistente El café ahora tiene nuevos dueños y las cosas son mucho mejor. El servicio es educado, servicial y amable, mientras que la comida es preparada correctamente y ofendidos. Hemos estado un par de veces ya que el cambio de titularidad, la segunda vez con los nietos cuyos caprichos fueron solucionados con - con una sonrisa. Como nada ha cambiado en cuanto a menú salgo tratando el desayuno completo hasta ver una crítica positiva que indica que han cambiado su proveedor de mercancías desayuno de la utilizada por Franco! Si esto es hecho probablemente la clasificación hasta 5 estrellas!

Metimos en para un aperitivo y una bebida antes de una cita en 3. 30. Propietario (? Es tan tranquilo cuando habla de que es difícil escuchar ella. Snack bar y café bien pero no sé por qué la primera mall café 'probado completamente diferente a la del segundo café. Mall Todo el personal estaba en la parte trasera y nos miraran desde alrededor de las 3:00 pm adelante (a pesar de la cafetería de cierre en 4), así que me sentí obligado a dejar. Servicio de camarera muy extraño y jóvenes mujeres era bastante tiene.

Me gusta un buen desayuno cuchara grasienta de vez en cuando. Este no era uno! Salchicha era barato y desagradable; Setas eran de lata; tocino frito a un fresco y la patata llegó después de terminado el resto de mi comida!

El servicio era excelente, una camarera muy amable y atento. La comida era deliciosa, huevos escalfados en una salsa de tomate (tomate y cebollas hizo) horneadas en el horno. Mi amigo tenía tocino y queso brie en ciabatta - también muy sabrosa.

Nos molesta cuando JKs en Vaughan Road cerrada ya tuvimos muchos una buena comida. Mi amigo aleatoriamente visitado Café Aroma y descubrimos que era la gente de jk. Este es un lugar encantador para el desayuno, el almuerzo o simplemente un café. Es un negocio familiar y la gente es amable y dispuesto a atender sus peticiones especiales. Las tortillas son deliciosos como es chile.

Café Aroma es un "café" Más allá de las experiencias. El menú incluye magníficos chill concarne Comí tagliatelli con camarones, excepcional y asado verduras, además maravillosamente preparados discontinuas como huevos revueltos y salmón ahumado. El café es excelente y todo se sirve caliente. Este es el mejor cafe en Harpenden y los alrededores.

Al sustituir la tienda eléctrico esta reencarnación como Café Aroma ha sido una maravillosa adición a los cafés en Southdown. Hemos estado en esta cafetería sobre una base regular. Está en el lado soleado de la calle, está decorado en forma agradable, limpio y bien amueblada con mesas y asientos elegantes y adecuada. Usted siempre será recibido con una sonrisa y el personal es amable, educado y servicial. Hay una amplia variedad de aperitivos, pasteles y comida caliente todos a precios muy razonables y competitivos. Excelente café. Este es un lugar muy popular.

que consideramos nuestra selección de café para el desayuno (hay 4 en rápida sucesión) y quedamos bastante decepcionados con Aroma. Decoración, calidad del café, la limpieza y la amabilidad, etc. estaban bien, igual que el servicio y café. Sin embargo, mi marido tenía el desayuno...

Ive known Franco and family for some years now and they take a cafe to a new level,Leaving their old place ( jks) in Vuaghan Rd i thought they couldnt get any better but they have, new place , big , spotlessley clean , and you will not find better food anywhere in harpenden, its all made freshly on the day and the sizes of the portions are impossible to beat!Quite simply the best!

I have visited Cafe Aroma on many occasions since it first opened and have always found it it to be a very enjoyable experience. The owners and staff are all very pleasant and there is a wide and varied menu with something for everyone. In my view Cafe Aroma has added to the feeling that Southdown is now becoming a little Harpenden oasis in it's own right with individual shops, cafes, butchers plus the Co-op and Post Office providing all the services locals need within walking distance. Cafe Aroma is particularly welcoming to families I feel.

The comment “the British are a nation of shopkeepers!” is attributed to Napoleon. You may ask why I mention this. It is because the first time we visited Café aroma was shortly after it opened when most independents seemed to be having a very long Christmas break. When I spent a holiday period in Europe a few years ago all the cafes/restaurants were open as it was seen as a time for socialising with friends and relatives whilst here it seems a time for shopping. Enough of my rambling. If I had reviewed Café Aroma after our first visit it would have got 5 *. However having visited a number of times I have to mark them down. Whilst service is generally excellent at times it can be quite sullen (why). Food is also generally pretty good apart from the all-day breakfast that has previously been commented on. This was an issue at their previous café in Vaughan Road – I cannot understand why they do not change their supplier for breakfast goods! So recommended in general but not for an all-day breakfast – go to the café next to the Co-op!

Best cafe in town, great coffee, sandwiches, etc but must try the breakfast wrap, INCREDIBLE! Highly recommended. There are also pasta dishes, all day breakfast, cakes, etc. Have been there with family and friends. In summary great food and very friendly service.

Ok first things first, the service was fine the decor is fine but when you have a cafe virtually next door to a great butchers, why would you have such cheap, nasty horrible sausages and meat. I ordered an all day breakfast and I got some horrible processed sausages and cheap bacon. The rest of it was ok but I'm not going back.

Popped in for takeaway coffee, miserable service, husband and 2 year old glared at for using the loo. Won't be going back. Coffee pretty bad too.

Family business who have previously been in St Albans and Harpenden. Now in Southdown, and maintaining their excellent standards. Great food at sensible prices. Cappuccino to die for! Very friendly and welcoming.

I visited this little café last week as it was recommended to me by a friend. I have to say it really is worth a visit. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. You are seated and served promptly,and with a smile. I tried they're eggs royale which is something I haven't heard of before. It was absolutely delicious and the presentation was immaculate. I would definitely recommend this little place. My experience there was great. I will definitely become a regular :)

Popular place for friendly service and high quality coffee. Lovely toasted tea cake too. Recently opened by really expedienced family who've traded in St Albans and Harpenden for years, giving great value with a smile.

Two visits and both times poor/moody service. We thought we'd give the new place a chance, but really not convinced. Maybe one more go and if they're miserable and can't manage a basic order again then it's one to miss for good.

From the outside this place looks really good. But when you get on the inside it is not as good. It was not very busy when we went (which was lunch time), we picked a table, sat down and was then told that we couldn't sit there and we had to move, that was frustrating. My wife ordered a jacket potato with cheese and she was happy with what she had. I had the spaghetti bolognaise. unfortunately a cheap mince was used and the fat streamed off my plate. I ate 3/4 of the dish but just couldn't cope with all of the fat so I left it.BUT, that was not the biggest problem. The frustrating thing is that it is difficult to hold a conversation there. Because there is no soft furnishings or curtains. Everybody's conversations are so loud as the sound bounces of the wall. It felt like we were part of so many different conversations.So would i go back there???Yes I would give the food a second chance, but i would make sure that it is very quiet day for them as it is difficult to cope with loud conversations.

A surprisingly varied menu for a small café. Having already been there around 4 times, the food has always been tasty, well cooked and very nicely presented, with quick and friendly service and excellent value for money. In just a couple of weeks since it opened this has deservedly become very popular. On a cold day you might just want to sit away from the door as there can be a slight draught - no doubt they'll sort that out when they get into their stride.
