T.K's Cafe in St Albans

Lovely place to get freshly made sandwiches. The bacon and sausage sandwiches are a favourite with the family. Along with the selection of smoothies and milkshakes.

I’ve been going to tks for years now, the owner clare is such a credit to this community, from giving out free lunches to children during the pandemic to having a pay forward scheme where you pay for someone else’s food/drink as a nice gesture. I cannot fault this little cafe at all, keep up the good work clare and girls !

Popped in for our Friday morning bacon rolls, felt a bit guilty as we’ve neglected this amazing local business for a few months (due to working from home and having food in). I can’t rate it enough, service with a smile, uber Covid safe and spotlessly clean. The menu is vast and the food is of the highest quality and so reasonably priced. There is a wall of post-it notes at the moment where you can buy an extra little something for someone less fortunate which is such a lovely idea. When I walked around the corner there was a massive queue at one of the other shops (a chain), which I don’t understand, you’ll get better food and service at TK’s. Shop local!

Great all day breakfasts, and friendly staff. Best place to sit is upstairs, looking out the window as no-one ever looks up!

I often pop in on my way to work (usually when in need of something a tad unhealthy and a strong coffee). I’m always welcomed with a smile and a cheery “good morning”. For a little café this place packs a punch. The menu is vast, it all looks fresh and is well presented. I often end up getting a little something extra to take out for my lunch. The bacon roll I usually get it top notch and the coffee is pretty decent too! The price is reasonable.

I’ve been in here for a breakfast on one or two occasions. The prices are expensive and the portions are small but it is a cosy little cafe and sitting upstairs you can sit by a window and watch the people and cars go by, or enjoy the sunshine whilst reading a newspaper. They need to make the potions bigger or lower their prices as I can go to Morrison’s in St Albans and get two or three times the amount for £6.

Excellent food, lovely friendly staff and first rate service. TK’s has the most welcoming ambiance of any café in Harpenden.

The staff and the food were over any expectations, I have been treated like a king and so was my stomach. It's a shame to live far from here and not be able to visit again soon. The world has to know I've never eaten so well, perfect breakfast

Went in this morning for breakfast. Great breakfast....sausages and bacon were bang on. Will definately be coming back. Staff were very nice and polite too.

I often call in for a takeaway jacket potato and they are massive and come with a range of fillings and lovely salad. Good old comfort food, friendly ladies and nice seating area upstairs! A jewel in Southdown's crown!

this shop is nice, and has a good range of items. The rolls and sandwiches are both well done, though most seating is outdoors.

Quite a varied menu, home made by the guy who runs the shop. The ladies in there are lovely and food is good quality. Fry ups are particularly good with great sausages and bacon from the butcher. recommended

This is not a massive place but there is additional seating upstairs. You place your order and pay at the counter downstairs and the food is then brought to you. The menu is varied with vegetarian options, the staff are friendly, efficient service and the food is good and reasonably priced. I visited for lunch with friends and we all ordered different things but everything was served together, which is the sign of a good place to eat. I believe they also offer a takeaway service. The only problem is parking; the only car park in the vicinity is for the Co-op supermarket.

More than just a greasy spoon but with their prices! Great value & great service. Sit down or takeaway can't be beaten ;-)

Este aspecto en Tripadvisor antes de ir. Sabroso y abundante en la gran desayuno. 2 huevos pero sólo un tocino? Pero hay algo extraño allí era lo suficientemente grande para calificar como para mí. Lo único malo, no sentarse cerca de la puerta en una mañana fría como su pequeño lugar de un ajetreado y me la explosión fresca desde fuera. Servicio amable buen personal.

Great little cafe, super food cooked to order. Really great staff always ready to cook what you want if it's not on the menu. Really great, and upstairs a quiet place to enjoy your meal. Cracking little place!

Great place to get a light snack at lunch time. Its not the Ritz, but its def' not the pitz. Good selection of food.

Siempre nos visita para comer cuando nos da pereza hacer sándwiches o olvidar nuestra comida para llevar. Es realmente genial, ya que puede llamar nuestro pedido a través de antelación y organizar un tiempo para recogerla. El personal siempre nos recuerda y son realmente amable, incluso reconocer mi voz en el teléfono antes incluso me he puesto mi pedido. Nuestra comida es siempre abundante y el orden es siempre correcto. Continuaremos a comprar nuestro almuerzo de lo que consideramos que el mejor café de Southdown.

TK's is a usual stop off for us at the end of a long (or muddy, or both) cycle ride at the weekend. Even on cold / wet miserable days when caked in mud we are welcome indoors (even though we are usually too polite to risk messing the place so sit outside). The Full English breakfasts are piping hot and well loaded, Bacon and Egg baguettes keep me going most of the day and the teas and coffees are nice and hot too. All for really reasonable prices.Nothing pretentious, a good old fashioned cafe with good food and drink at reasonable prices. What more can you need!

This is an excellent family friendly cafe - I usually have one or more of the grandchildren in tow, and they love it also- highly recommended.

TK's do one of the best breakfasts in Harpenden. Everything is freshly prepared and, I believe, the sauages and bacon are sourced from the local butcher. They are definately full of flavour. If you do not fancy a "fry up" there are omlettes, baked potatoes and lunch options such as "spag bol". Recommended.

I completely disagree with Jember 075 but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have breakfast or a coffee at TKs several times a week. The premises are clean, the ingredients used are of an excellent quality and prepared with care. It's a great value for money cafe, unpretentious and the best in Harpenden. I have always found the staff very welcoming; friendly, cheerful and hardworking. The comment that they barely speak English is incredibly disrespectful. The ladies in there are a delight who have a greater command of the language than myself and most of the other regulars! The proof is in the pudding, just see how busy they can get during the lunchtime rush!

It's quite simple, the staff behind the counter are the rudest people I've ever encountered. They barely speak English. The food is poor and very expensive. Basically, don't waste your time!!

Good value filling but not very good quality breakfast you can tell ingredients used were not very expensive. But you get what you pay for and it is very reasonable! Good coffee!

I have been here a few times recently, and have really enjoyed very nice, well-made sandwiches (good bread, generous filling) and very good coffee. The staff are friendly & smiling, and handle money before washing hands & doing food. I have taken away, but there are a few tables inside / outside as well. I shall be going back!

I pop in here about once a month and treat myself to an all-day breakfast. They do the best one in Harpenden. The reason for this is that they use good quality ingredients unlike many of their competitors who carry “cheap and cheerful” too far! They also do sandwiches, various hot meals (with daily specials) and the usual range of coffees. The only negative is that they close early on a Saturday and don’t open on Sundays. Recommended!
