Used to be a regular in the mid-80’s but moved away from Kirby. Still great food, didn’t have to wait long, prices reasonable, will definitely be back.

Nice fish and chips. Round the side of the shop they have some outdoor seating along with parking.

On route home from a family day out to the seaside, we came across this chippy. Brilliant value for money, service with a smile and the food was delicious. Shame your not based closer to my home.

Batter extremely greasy, not very nice at all. The chips weren't triple or even double fried so had no crispy exterior. But they wrapping paper washing good.

Visited here twice now on our way to Frinton, and both times we've had freshly cooked fish and chips, this however means there is a wait at busy times but that's how it should be. Worth the wait in my opinion. Reasonably priced and great food.

The food is fresh and freshly cooked, I always go there on the way to Walton, the owners are very pleasant, the fish is like no other.

All the chips shops in Frinton were rammed. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon about 3pm. Has a small cod, chips and drink deal. Fish was cooked fresh and delicious, chips were perfect, not too soggy and an ice cold drink. Staff were friendly and we ate in the patio garden out the back. Plenty of parking. Would recommend dropping by.

Parking at the front could be a hassle,but it's all worth it as the portions and quality of the food is generous.

Best Fish Dinner I've had in a long time. Friendly owner, despite his card machine losing him money and fretting about his patio getting finished. Great guy, sterling service. I'll Be Back 🙂🦊

Simply the best fish and chips in the area. Service excellent, although the shop is always busy, because of the excellence of the food. I would recommend Kirby Cross Fish shop without hesitation.

I don’t usually leave reviews however I have to say this place is amazing, the portions sizes are ginormous and the haddock was so fresh and could easily serve two people!! The owner Lynton is always so friendly and welcoming, prices are great so what’s not to like !?!?… if your still undecided honestly pop in and give them a try I promise you won’t be disappointed! Well done Lynton and the team what a fantastic business

Was recommended Kirby's from a local guy in Frinton, and wasn't disappointed. The food was fresh and the batter crispy and light. As it's only 4mins away from Frinton and was worth the short drive. They have a car park so instead of parking on the road just pull in on arrival.

Expensive and chips weren't that great, gritty.

Stop by on the way out of frinton, grab some quick dinner after a day in town or by the beach. Nicely located at the end but slightly off from the high street. Never had a bad portion from here, fairly quick too.

Disgusting fish and chips, batter was so soggy and chips were cold with absolute zero flavour curry sauce, was also terrible no flavour. Have also given an upset stomach, if I’m in the area will go elsewhere fish and chips is an easy dish, many people nowadays mess it up.

Such a shame we nearly always use this fish shop , but last Saturday we got a takeaway and it was awful, the chips were so undercooked, the fish was nice but spoiled by the batter which was also undercooked, very weary of using them again ☹️

Initially, we thought we ordered too many chips. Turns out, the chips were amazing, tasted phenomenal, and could have done with some more! GF had the sausage. Better then our local one. Tasted like how a sausage should. I had the cod, which tasted great. Lovely people running the plaice too. Highly recommended 👌🏼

The food here is really good, it's our go to fish and chips shop and it's a bit out the way but we prefer to come here. When the roadworks were going on they had hilarious roadworks specials which made me chuckle!

It's ok. Quick service but expensive and more so that others. Lots of micro crispy bits in the chips which I never eat so its waste. Fish was nice but it's not my favourite in that area.

We had Haddock and Cod and chips. Nicely cooked and sensibly sized portion for the price. All were freshly cooked and tasted lovely.

Tasty Fish n Chips, nice dining area tucked round the back of the shop is ideal if your heading home after a day at the beach.

I know good fish and chips when I get it and this place definitely hits the mark! Freshly fried haddock in golden batter and plump fluffy chips, 100% the best local chippy. This was a long wait in an empty chippy, asked for large it was a small chips. Batter wasnt the best. I wouldnt go a gain not worth the money but clean and polite people in there.

Without doubt, in my humble opinion, the finest fish and chips in Tendring, and far beyond. The team cook them in the traditional way and serve them precisely how you want them. Highly recommended, and top marks from me. If you want a delicious fish and chip meal, don’t hesitate to head for Kirby Fisheries, where even parking isn’t a problem!

First time visitor, and very pleased I went. Excellent proper chips, good quality cod and great batter well cooked. Lovely staff too. They now accept debit and credit cards and I was pleased to see it was busy, so clearly a popular place. We went Monday evening when other places were closed.

Ordered 2 large cod and chips fish was very bland no taste definitely washed out or frozen. chips had absolutely no taste was recommended here but much better places To eat waste of money.

Great little chippy, all food was cooked fresh so there was a bit of a wait but I prefer that, owner was a friendly guy and I think it is a family business so is seems quite well established in the local community. The Fish was really nice and the chips were a good portion, curry sauce was different style to our 'home' chippys in the Midlands but think that could be a regional think rather than the chippy, Deffo return if I'm in the area again, lovely beach up the road in Walton on the Naze and this is in the way back to Clacton so nice stop on the way back 👌

We regularly use Kirby Fisheries and thoroughly enjoy the food.

Flsh and chips tonight and once again beautiful fish but yet again let down by the chips , they were obviously not fresh but dry and old . When will they realise that people will not come back for left over chips !! This is the second time we have been sold chips like this that ruined the dinner and once again we had decided to try it again after thinking it wouldn't be like that again . Well no more were better off with frozen fish and chips .

Absolutely superb fish and chips, we really couldn’t recommend Kirby Fisheries enough. We recently moved to the area and have always been made to feel welcome and staff are helpful and friendly. Fish is always tasty, crispy and well cooked, and chips are superb. So glad to have found a brilliant chippy near our new home 🙂
