Absolutely brilliant night service atmosphere and food amazing booked to go back next month highly recommend

4 of us went it, four of us left signing the food and staff to high heaven. Crispy Squid starter was cooked perfectly, scotch egg again was cooked bang on... gorgeous runny egg inside crispy batter on the outside with awesome seasoned meat on the inside (you can see this was my starter). Mains; unbeknown they offer two steak deal on a Thursday, winning... complementary bottle of wine with all two steaks ordered. Three steaks ordered and lamb.Steaks you could cut with a spoon, triple cooked chips or fries... everything was well presented (not that I care about that) with plush portions.... however, normally I am steak person...now this lamb.... was out of this world!!!! Cooked medium rare with dauphinois potato served with green veg... (too engrossed in the lamb to even look what greens I was eating).. it was the absolute best lamb I’ve ever had, not a hint of food left on anyone’s plate. Firm believer in you pay for what you get, we come away feeling under charged for the food and service we got.I’d advise to arrive a little early and try the cocktail bar and sit outside if possible and take in the full decor the 43 have to offer. You can have a good laugh with all the staff whilst they still remain professional. The deserts looked amazing but haven’t had a chance to have one as yet from being to full on food and drink, you must come to the here and try for yourself. Joe

Another pleasant evening spent in the garden , a real gem of a restaurant in a fantastic location,we really enjoy sitting in the garden with a drink, eating our meal, on a warm evening, the atmosphere is lovely the staff and owners are very friendly, food is local, fresh and cooked to perfection, this restraunt is the best in the area, by far, will be eating here alot, we highly recommend Restaurant 43

Found this family run restaurant on Trip Advisor so decided to give it a go, and i have to say we were all glad we did, this was the best meal i have had in a restaurant for a very long time, the staff were amazing. I ordered the liver and bacon which was truly historic with fluffy mashed potato and savoy cabbage. The wife who is a very fussy eater ordered the sea bass and consumed the lot. very tasty and freshly cooked food with great service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 5 STARS

Had a lovely roast lamb Sunday dinner, very attentive staff, nice environment. Highly recommended and will revisit again soon

Soon as we walked in we was greeted by friendly staff and i knew we was in for a good evening. The menu and the specials were great, the fillet steak and the monkfish were superb and desserts lovely, also with a singer for entertainment. we will definitely be going back.

Everything about Restaurant 43 exceeded our expectations. The location is great, the staff friendly, the service unfussy but attentive. The food we ate was excellent in every respect. The cooking was of a high standard and the lamb and mussels dishes delicious. The signature scotch egg lived up to its hype and desserts were excellent. We will certainly be returning and can thoroughly recommend a visit

1st visit, and thoroughly impressed! Absolutely gorgeous food, plenty of choice, every course was amazing and full of flavour, the restaurant and bar is beautifully decorated, and the outdoor seating area was an absolute bonus with hanging baskets, nice furniture and heaters.From the minute we got there, our party of 8 were mere made to feel extremely welcome, the staff were really freindly, efficient and attentive, without being too over the top, would love to go back, and would absolutely recommend this place. Brilliant

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting relatives. What a great place, room was spacious, excellent service throughout from the owner Mark. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent. The only downside and this is no criticism, the wifi in the room was hit and miss, not very good connectivity. However do not let that put you off, it is a gem of a place to stay and eat.

Food was absolutely amazing , possibly the best meal I have had and I have visited some exceptional restaurants all over the world. But this is the top of my list. Would definitely visit again if and when in this area. Wish we could be there more often :)

It’s been a while, because of lockdown, but this restaurant is just as great as we remembered it. Definitely our favourite in the area. Hopefully we can book again very soon.

We were greeted and welcomed by a young man, who let us choose our table and even took the specials board down so that we could more easibly see it. There was absolutely plenty of choice, hubby had a starter of sardines on toast, I asked how many points out of 10 he would give it and he said 'most defnitely a 10, we then both had different mains which were substantial, well presented and lovely, to finish off, we had the chocolate fondant, it was decadent and to die for! This was our first visit, it certainly won't be our last, in fact we made a booking for the following week to eat there again due to the excellent food and staff!

Fantastic food and great staff here. We have visited here for our 3rd time tonight. Ruby is an amazing host and all the staff are really happy in their job. Ruby’s sister Scarlett is also a fantastic singer. Love the atmosphere here. It’s a family run restaurant and everyone seems to enjoy working here and interacting with their customers. Every meal we have eat here has been lovely and tonight’s entertainment with Irie J was amazing. Look forward to seeing you all soon

Amazing service, ruby was an amazing waitress, on the ball when a drink needed topping up the whole duration and always Smiling, amazing food and such a lovely atmosphere.

An excellent find in the picturesque village of Gt Bentley, Ruby and the team are attentive without being overbearing, the food is of an excellent standard as are the offers from the bar(s).My stay in one of rooms was clean, comfortable and spacious.All in all a definite 9.5 and I hope to visit again, thank you all JR.

So helpful with allergen awareness and the food tastes great too! I am gluten intolerant and a vegetarian, although the online menu showed both options, it didn't give me any that overlapped. So I emailed them and they couldn't have been more helpful. I ordered my choices three days before so they could prepare it for me. It was really delicious and even though I was so awkward and asked the poor waitress to double check my order was GF and Vegetarian she was happy to do so which was very reassuring. I would be happy to eat there again or recommend to others.

My wife and I stayed overnight at Restaurant43; this was a thank you from our daughter Emma who is recovering from Breast cancer surgery.It’s the first time we have stayed anywhere since the beginning of the pandemic and what a joy it was; unrivalled hospitality and terrific food.Mark, Dawn and their daughters Ruby & Scarlett really know how to treat people, it’s been a long time since we have received such personal service.We felt that we were treated as friends rather than customers and we will be returning; sooner rather than later!I can’t recommend Restaurant43 enough!

Called in for a light lunch before we headed home after meeting friends, from the moment we walked in we felt very very comfortable and at home, the decor and ambiance were just right, and Ruby, who I believe runs the place with mum and dad and sister was such a lovely, friendly and happy lady, thank you for a lovely afternoon, we will be back, oh and the food and wine was spot on too.

I started with Tempura prawns. The batter was really light and the prawns were tender. Hubby had the mackerel and said it aS really tasty. Next course, I had the chicken, which was cooked to perfection - my compliments to the Chef. Hubby had the rump of lamb which had been cooked just as he had asked for it. It was tender and the daulphinoise potatoes were excellent. We really hadn't any room for a sweet but the first two course had been so delicious that we couldn't resist. Hubby had the New York cheesecake from the does menu and I had the zesty lemon tart. Both were fresh and mouth watering. All courses were well sized and have value for money. The service was excellent and the atmosphere comfortable. All in all we had a great evening at Restaurant 43.

I would definitely recommend restaurant 43. I stayed here with my boyfriend as part of he’s 22nd birthday present. I could not fault our stay at all, the room was perfect and the food was amazing. The family that own the restaurant are lovely and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again and come for pizza Wednesday!

We had stayed at another hotel the night before but wished we had booked the 2 nights at Restaurant 43. The bedroom was beautiful, light and spacious and we had a much better night’s sleep. Our meal was superb. This is a hidden gem in a lovely part of Essex

Wonderful, what more can I say. We sat out the front over looking the cricket ground, perfect view. Service attentive, outstanding and genuine. Excellent value for money, food fabulous and well presented excellent experience all round. Well worth a visit

Had a beach hut in Frinton for a couple days and decided to stay local overnight, what a lovely surprise. John the owner and his staff are a joy, good to be felt looked after on all aspects. Stayed in large bright room looking over the green, had a walk to local pub then had dinner in the restaurant, food and service were excellent. One of the best rib eye steaks (locally sourced) we have had in a long time, highly recommend.

Would like to thank mark, dawn & especially ruby for the great meal & service , would definitely recommend this place for top cuisine & chilled atmosphere big fan

It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The roast beef and lamb were cooked to perfection and delicious, as were the goose fat roasties with fresh veg and homemade Yorkshire puds...Nom Nom. We moved to the beautiful garden area, which was like a little oasis. The atmosphere and easy listening music made it feel like being on a real holiday. The staff and service is faultless. We highly recommend you visit this gem, you wont be disappointed!

What a find, the sun was out and we needed somewhere for lunch in between meetings. The resturant looked really inviting from the outside and we were greeted by lovely friendly happy staff. It seemed like a family owned business and you could tell they all really cared, lovely! We sat outside in a beautiful courtyard/ patio area. Greeted by our server who was really engaging. I overheard some regulars talking about their famous ‘Scotch egg starter’ so that was a must try... I then had another start as a main, sardines on toast with tomatoes. Well I was blown away by the presentation and flavour of both course, 10/10 for me, rare to find that! I only wish I could have eaten the whole menu and drunk the wine list! It was a great experience after months of being denied to eat out, I wish this place continued success as it rightly deserves it, I hope they continue to thrive as I’m sure it must have been very tough for them during Lockdown thanks to all the staff there, especially the chef. I live quite a bit away but will be returning I promise...

I’ve always wanted to visit this restaurant so I was excited to go when my husband said he had booked it for us and it didn’t disappoint!There aren’t many places left that have that friendly, family run feel to them. Everyone in there was personable and happy to spend that extra bit of time with you that makes you welcomed and valued as a customer. There was lots of locally sourced food on the menu and a bonus was we went on steak night (Thursday) so we got a free bottle of house wine with our meal! We will definitely be going back and taking friends and family with us!

Never ceases to amaze us this place. It’s our favourite restaurant and I don’t think that will change any time soon. The service is always perfect. Ruby, Scarlett and Harry are so friendly and always make us feel welcome & relaxed. The food is impossible to fault. Their chocolate fondant is quite possibly the best dessert in the World. A perfect melt in the middle pud that the is elevated by the accompaniment of banana purée, banana chips, salted caramel, toasted hazelnuts and salted caramel ice cream. Take a bow whoever came up with that. It’s genius. Top marks guys, smashed it again. See you in 48 hours

Delicious food and great cocktails. Camembert, scotch egg, mussels and cod thoroughly enjoyable. Ruby was a fabulous server, helpful and friendly.

Wow. First people through the door after lockdown. Haven’t been to Restaurant 43 before but decided to take Dad for his 78 th birthday. We received a lovely welcome by Ruby and Scarlet and the service and attention they gave us was second to none. The food was exceptional and we didn’t want the meal to end. Thank you will definitely be back.

Keeping this short - cannot fault this place, great food, great atmosphere & all round pleasure dining at restaurant 43. Ruby was our waitress and she was nothing but a pleasure from start to finish! Highly recommend to anyone! Will be returning weekly as soon as they reopen!

Very lucky that Great Bentley was still in Tier 2 for Christmas day so my wife and I were able to go to our favourite restaurant.....R43. Thank you to Mark and all the team for making us feel very special, really safe and helping us celebrate Christmas in style with a superb 3 course Christmas meal. Merry Christmas and looking forward to you being open again after the lockdown.

Our new Favourite Restaurant!! I was born in Great Bentley and this place has got me on Rightmove looking to move back. The locals within walking distance don’t know how lucky they are to have a place like this in their village. All 5 of dishes were perfect. Couldn’t fault anything that touched our table. The baked camembert starter was delicious. Gorgeous sourdough bread with a wonderful spiced chutney. The wife had the sea bass and I had the lamb which there was plenty of. Both mains were cooked to perfection. The dauphinois potatoes and roasted carrots were out of this world. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, it did. With the arrival of two chocolate fondant desserts. Melt-in-the middle heaven! Beautifully hot from the oven with that ice cold, silky smooth Mr Whippy ice cream & toffee sauce on the side.....truly epic! After the mains we decided instantly to purchase vouchers to give as a Christmas gift to our relatives. The decor and atmosphere in this place is spot on. Clean, modern but also with a lovely cosy feel. Beautiful views of the village green. Huge thank you for making it a perfect dining experience. The service was impeccable. Ruby did a fantastic job. I seriously can’t recommend this family run restaurant enough. We will be using Restaurant 43 for all of our future birthdays and special occasions but before then we will back tomorrow to do it all again!!

First time at Restaurant 43 and it’s a great place. Went for a Sunday lunch and the decor is lovely, the food is delicious and the service impeccable. Will definitely go back.

Once again had a wonderful lunch at this friendly restaurant. We were the first to visit after lockdown, but the restaurant soon began to fill up. My husband had a delicious scotch egg and I had goats cheese and beetroot salad followed by cannon of lamb and Cajun chicken fajitas. We shared a bottle of cabernet saviugnon (it was my birthday) and finished our meal with an excellent coffee. I would strongly recommend this family restaurant.

A friend of mine recommended this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve been here a couple of times this year and every time it has been excellent. Family run for a number of years I believe. The staff are very hospitable and informative when it comes to the menu. The decor is very stylish but still has a homely feel. Will continue dining here in future and I thoroughly recommend you do too.

Where can I start, I took my partner here for her birthday 3 years ago and we can’t stop visiting since! The staff, they cannot do more for you, they make you feel as if your a guest in their home, we usually are served by Ruby, she is always so pleasant and professional a credit to the team but I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience in my probably 6 or 7 visits. THE FOOD.... wow wow wow, we are what you’d call foodies and oh my god you cannot go wrong here, we often say it’s like going to a high end west end restaurant but you actually leave full, so so full! And honestly, the value for money is unbeatable. If nothing else please try the scotch egg, it’s the signature starter at 43 and I have to be honest, I dream about this particular dish. The venue, the first time we stayed here was for my partners birthday... we pulled up in front and honestly, it looked like we were staying at a little cottage... you walk through the amazing little garden and into the stunning dining area and I realised I’d made a great choice... the rooms are cosy and clean and exactly what we needed. Drinks... the cocktails are amazing, Ruby made an amazing espresso martini for me this evening and my other half was made a mocktail, as always going above and beyond. Finally the all important covid.. the implements they have made here are brilliant, tonight we felt safe all the way through and social distancing is respected throughout. I can’t say a bad thing about this place, you will be hard pushed too fault a thing in my opinion... since we made our first visit my friends and and family have all been and are regular visitors and are as in love with this wonderful place as us, I just wish I could find the time to go more! A final mention as we absolutely love that this is a family ran business which you can see when you walk in the doors, Mark the owner is such a warm and kind character he’s always checking in to make sure everyone is at home and satisfied. Have been going to Restaurant 43 for a couple of years now. Sometimes for a quick bite, sometimes, for a romantic dinner, sometimes for a celebration. Every time we go we come away feeing satisfied. Thank you Mark and his amazing staff, especially Courtney who makes amazing cocktails, for consistently making the dining experience a glorious one.

Restaurant43 The Green Great Bentley - Had a really fabulous lunch - great menu and quality of food - something for everyone. Totally safe and clean - brilliant staff - nothing is too much for them very attentive - great experience ( waitress Ruby and staff excellent ) - high recommend..

We’ve been to R43 so many times and love the food and staff but on Sunday we didn’t feel it was quite hitting the mark. Lunch was good but not amazing. Potatoes very greasy and vegetables over cooked. Wish we could have a change of veg from broccoli, never seems to vary. Also felt Mr Whippy ice cream is a bit below normal standards. Would expect such a classy place to offer hand made. Usually the staff come and chat but maybe it’s a COVID outcome but disappointing. All in all still good and will go back, maybe just an off day!

This is one of the best restaurants in the local area we visited initially for a family lunch on a saturday and the decor and style of the place was amazing food is great quality and tet very reasonably priced. We then tried it for a Saturday night and it just gets better and better our server Harry was amazing nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel at home i just wish we could pick this restaurant up and move it to Harwich as it is amazing and just what we need in our town.

Eaten many times at the 43 and every time we dine it gets better never had a bad meal yet thanks Mark for making us so welcomed and the staff are so friendly.

This is my favourite restaurant, so I was eagerly awaiting their re-opening. My sister, brother-in-law and I went along for 'Steak Night' on Thursday. First of all I want to say how safe we all felt. Mark and co have done everything they can to minimise the risk of infection, as I knew they would. Now, the food, my brother-in-law and I had fillet steak, cooked perfectly, as we requested. My sister had loin of pork. We were all delighted with our choices. We were naughty, and all had a dessert, delicious. Now, a word about the staff, Mark and Ruby were on duty plus a couple of waiters. They were all friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay & thoroughly enjoyed every second we spent in this family run establishment. It started with lovely warm welcome from Mark the owner, who couldn't do enough for us & make our stay special. The decor is smart, tasteful & modern, together with a lovely relaxed atmosphere it was just perfect. Our room was bright, spacious, airy & absoloutely immaculate - this attention to detail is rare. Tea & coffee making facilities were very generous & much appreciated. Breakfast was superb, beautifully presented & probably the best quality we've had anywhere, Chefs scrambled egg was to die for as was his delicious Omelette. A truly superb place to stay & a big thank you to Mark, Ruby & all the team..... & how could we forget Coco :-) xx

Couldn’t think of a better Restaurant to spend our first night out since easing of lockdown. Amazing food, friendly staff and well priced. Lots of effort from the management to make it as Covid safe as possible - we felt very comfortable there. Looking forward to returning for Pizza Wednesday!

This place is excellent on every levelThe accommodation is super, the food is exceptional.In these difficult times they have put so.much in place to.make you feel safe but have not taken away any of the superb service.On top of all this you are made to feel so welcome, nothing is too much trouble. Everyone at r43 goes out of their way to make staying and eating here fabulous. We have stayed before and are coming back in three weeks with friends. I would highly recommend you will not be sorry.

Have visited this restaurant many times and always had a wonderful meal. Food is delicious and cooked from fresh. Staff always seem happy to be at work and it shows. Can’t wait to return!!

This was the first time we have stayed at the R43.Absolutely fabulous accomodation, the room was very well presented and modern.Very well done to Mark and all of his staff during a very difficult time, the room was immaculately cleaned throughout.The room has everything you will need for a very comfortable stay.2 days of fantastic breakfasts, very filling and tasty, i presume all locally sourced, definitely not budget, a great start to the day.A great pity that Mark has decided to temporarily close with the current situation, speaking to him at breakfast this morning he feels for all his staff and customers.We will definately stay again on our next visit to family in Gt Bentley and dine with the family in the restaurant.Wishing Mark and his team all the best in the near future and hoping all goes well, hoping to sample the best Scotch Egg I've ever eaten agaain.

We have just had a lovely Sunday Lunch with our family and 3 young children. We could not rate the atmosphere, food and attentive staff high enough. A warm welcome on arrival and such a relaxed atmosphere from the lounge area to the table - the roast sirloin was the best beef we have had for a very longtime. For a birthday treat we stayed that night in the cottage room which was modern and very quiet. What a fabulous experience and the same friendly welcome in the morning with delicious breakfast. We came here for a Valentines getaway and we were not disappointed. Mark and his family gave us a very warm welcome as though we were old friends.Our room was spotless, warm, spacious and modern - Perfect.Our Valentines meal was superb and impeccably served by our very friendly hosts. The atmosphere was perfect and we had the same warm welcome at breakfast the following morning, which was also excellent.Highly recommended. A very warm and friendly welcome awaits you.

Visited for a business lunch today and received outstanding prompt, friendly service. Food was very tasty served in a relaxed environment.

Popped into R43 for a quick lunch. The burger was good but not excellent.Lovely bacon. A poor portion of chips - they were once proper chips, for the cost of this meal I would expect more than a small handful of frozen french fries!I don't get the coleslaw either, but that's not a criticism on R43, the product is fresh and crunchy, just not real coleslaw.Great service from Courtney she even stepped outside her comfort zone to make us some flat whites - thank you Courtney, but get that machine calibrated to proper coffee measues, not American ones!

We had a lovely lunch here today. The dessert alone was worth the trip! Attentive and friendly service provided by our waitress Courtney. Looking forward to coming back here in the future.

Excellent Xmas lunch at our favourite local restaurant. Booked a table of 4 for Xmas lunch which exceeded our expectations in all area. Great food and hospitality from the waiting staff and management. All in all a splendid time was had by us all. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you

Where to start... Last night my partner surprised me with a 30th birthday meal with our family and friends.. The fact its not even 9am the following morning yet and I'm feeling the need to leave a review says it all!! Food was incredible, not one bad meal, steaks cooked to perfection, food all out together, friendly staff, great atmosphere and catered to exactly what my partner asked for! We have been here before just the two of us and loved it, however catering for 28 people is usually challenging and difficult.. Restaurant 43 did not find this challenging at all! Massive thank you to owners and staff and merry Christmas! XxOh and LOVED the Xmas Dec's.. Very classy!!

Eaten in the 43 many times always the same top rated food and very friendly staff don’t want to eat out any where but.

I went to restaurant 43 last year for Christmas party lunchtime menu for 12 friends the food and service where excellent. This year I booked from the Christmas party menu for my self and my partner. When We arrived they didn’t have details of my booking, my soup arrived then came the crusty bread 5 minutes later, the main course came but they forgot the roast potatoes, There was a table of thirty but that is no excuse as there was only 2 of us. . When the bill came they didn’t take the deposit off then I was told it wasn’t taken as they had lost the paper work. It was so disappointing and very expensive, the bill came to £80.50 half lemonade with dash lime £3.70 Xmas dinner £34.95 I just felt like I had thrown £80 down the drain

Went for lunch with family. Menu choices were at best average, portions sizes are very small but prices are expensive. No atmosphere. £6.15 for a pint of soda and lime !!!

Was very expensive for what you get was not impressed with the overall dinner, and will not be returning m.

Our host, Alicia, recommended some restaurants and I really liked the menu @ 43, so Alicia kindly booked us a table. From the first step in to our goodbye, this is somewhere we’ll definitely be returning to and this is quite something for my hubby to say he wants to come back!

Perfect birthday dinner for my wife. Seated promptly, drinks served quickly whilst we looked at menus.

Just had a delicious lunch here .... great service lovely waitress and dessert of apple turnover and vanilla custard was to die for 🙌🏽🥰

Awful we had roast chicken which consisted of a large chicken leg two or three roast potatoes and a bit of greenery and very little gravy

Lovely food and ambience, Waitresses all attentive and friendly. We were served by Ruby who was brill. Is a regular visit for my family and we are never disappointed. Try the monkfish and cockle chowder!!!

We stayed at the attached Bed and Breakfast for three nights, and enjoyed all our meals at Restaurant 43 .

Never been before and my friend booked for my birthday . Looked a little dull from outside but beautiful inside . Clean,modern, fresh. food was fabulous and service was great. large menu to choose from and reasonable prices. Couldn't fault it. Will defiantly return which i will be this weekend.

Started fine, starters were good, however ham egg & chips ?????? arrived, ONE hens egg instead of TWO DUCKS eggs as advised. we were told by the server "Oh I forgot to tell you". we then saw nobody for 40 minuites by which time we said just the bill please. no main menue on a Sunday made thing very poor.

We booked a table here after reading a review in the local magazine, on further researching about the chef’s background we were looking forward to our meal.

We booked a table here after reading a review in the local magazine, on further researching about the chef’s background we were looking forward to our meal.

Booked a night out for family with 3 elderly relatives one of which had a birthday.Soup had to be returned as it was tepid and had to wait on main course for one meal. No onion rings on the burger. Some items on the menu were off, as were some desserts. Wholly spoilt by two couples on next table swearing like navvies in a dockyard. My husband advised the owner about this after they had gone and we were offered a drink as recompense. The only saving grace was the owners daughter who waitresses. My opinion.. overpriced, overrated and I will not be going again.

We booked rooms to stay at the restaurant because my brother was having his family party there.There are four rooms available and we were very impressed by the standard of the accommodation on offer.They are spacious, comfortable, well-furnished and enjoy lovely views of the huge village green (the biggest in the UK I believe).The beds are very comfortable and all the rooms are pristine.

We arrived as a party of 5 for a 50th birthday meal. Couldn't fault the food and the service was friendly. Special thanks to Courtney for the cocktails! Planning to return for pizza Wednesdays!

We chose this restaurant for my birthday meal and invited a large group of friends. The staff all make you feel so welcome and couldn’t do more for us to make the evening go perfectly. The food is outstanding and those who hadn’t visited before we so impressed. We hired the 4 bedrooms to stay the evening and they were all spacious, comfortable, immaculate and offering lovely views across the village green. My evening was wonderful and cannot recommend Restaurant 43 highly enough or indeed praise every single one of the staff highly enough.

Clearly a very popular place, and rightly so. We arrived to a friendly welcome (despite the restaurant being very busy), were quickly and efficiently shown to our room, then returned to the restaurant for a meal. I recommend their "signature" scotch egg starter and thoroughly enjoyed my linguine main. Peroni on draught was an added bonus. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the view over the expansive Green. All in all, highly recommeded

Arrived with my wife 10 min early for a party of 6 meal and this wasn’t a problem. Was sat at table and drinks ordered. The food I has was very good. Mushrooms for starters then the lamb for mains. Although I asked for rare it was cooked to medium.

Excellent visit had a beautiful meal for wife’s 40th Birthday staff are pleasant and friendly very clean premises garden area lovely very highly recommend place to eat

Went for our wedding anniversary with the children. Nice atmosphere, very nice food, reasonable priced and a great wine list. Quite busy for the middle of the week in June. Very polite and efficient service.

Visited this with family and what a delightful experience it was.....great atmosphere, really good , and welcoming service.....plus the food was excellent.

Our first visit to Restaurant 43, dinner for 2 on Friday 17th May, food, wine and service by Rosie was very good. we had mussels and salmon for starters, lamb for main and shared a lemon posset for desert, with a bottle of Rioja, all of which was good, maybe even excellent! We will return......

Excellent menu, very varied. Sunday roasts a treat, not the cheapest in the area but probably the tastiest, fresh local produce offered on the main menu, mackrel and beetroot was my favourite

Restaurant 43 has a ‘Cornerstone Position’ on Great Bentley Village Green. (43 Acres and the largest in the UK!). It is a Neat and Tidy Gourmet Restaurant and Bar offering ‘Bespoke’ catering for Diners and ‘Private Guest’ accommodation (Only Four (4) modern executive suite rooms, with Showers, Tea & Coffee, with HD TV !)

This was our first visit and we were so so impressed . From start to finish everything was above our expectations. Service was polite and Professional 100% recommended and we are going back again next week .

Visited with my kids, staff very polite and helpful, catered for our dietary requirements no problems at all, will definitely be back soon

We missed out on our New Year’s Eve stay through illness. Our room was honoured and we thourghly enjoyed our stay in March. Greeting on arrival very welcoming, room was a real treat with a great view overlooking the green.Our evening meal was so delicious as was our breakfast. We have been before we shall visit again . After seeing the fantastic menu online, my girlfriend and I had to give this place a go for dinner on a Saturday night and we weren't disappointed. Living in Shenfield we are fortunate enough to be surrounded by good eateries and Restaurant 43 can compete with the best of them. Service is attentive but not over fussy, cocktails are fantastic (espresso martini is a must) and the food was really top notch, scallops were cooked perfectly (surprised at the large portion of 4) and the duck and dauphinoise potatoes were a real hit. To top it off the lovely Ruby was a real star and made us feel incredibly welcome, I would highly recommend Restaurant 43 and I'm sure it won't be long until we're back. #rubysdadowesheratenner

We've been going to this restaurant for 3 years and really enjoyed it to start with. Our previous 2 visits were disappointing with items missing from the plate (produced after it was pointed out) and on our last visit seriously overcooked vegetables. They seem to have lost their focus on both the cooking and service. We have only been at lunch times and it felt as though lunch service was too much of a bother. If that's the case then perhaps they should only open in the evenings as that seems to be when they get the good reviews.
