We celebrate my daughter 18th birthday at the Barn. We had wonderful time, great choice. All the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and polite. Definitely we are going back.

have come here 3 or 4 times now, went yesterday with my daughter tried something new their koftes, was absolutly lovely so much flavour , portions were hugh, had to take some home, waitresses are very helful and friendly, and the owner and his wife are both lovely, had many chats with them i dont know where the bad reviews are coming from , i can only assume there is another barn, will definatly be going again

Lovely atmosphere and never feels rushed to leave the table. we have had many breakfasts here and are never disappointed the quality of the food is very good, Sunday lunch is presented well, with good choices and there is plenty to eat too. And desserts are the same all very yummy. Definitely place I love taking my family to, one of our favourite eatery

I was apprehensive about eating here after my wife told me she booked it, after hearing some poor reviews. The food was nice, although tepid, however the service was poor at the end of our visit. Seeing as we arrived on time but had to wait for our table, and then had to wait 40 minutes for our food from the point of ordering it, I thought it was rude that a waitress came over whilst we were still eating dessert and said 'just so you know we're closing in 5 minutes', then walked away. Then tried to overcharge us when paying and argued when corrected.

We had not been to The Barn since it changed ownership so we were very pleased to see no changes really. We had not booked a table, it was very full but a friendly girl found us a table. The owner took our order and was friendly and polite. The food and drink (I had a Pimms, full of fresh fruit and mint!)) was plentiful and very tasty. We will be back again soon Thank you

Ham egg snd chips lunch turned out to be fatty bacon egg and chips snd I mean fatty . Management didn’t want to know . Would not return

We went to the Barns Cafe for lunch for our anniversary.First time we have been there. Highly recommend going there staff very friendly the sevice was brilliant. The food was excellent. Will definitely go again.

Fantastic breakfast everything was superb

First time visit, my wife ordered battered cauliflower and I ordered a cheese and mushroom omelette. The omelette was a bit bland, hardly any cheese, if any. Wasn’t a nice folded omelette just one cooked thick in a small pan. Chips were good. My wife’s wasn’t that nice, although she did it eat as never likes to complain. The batter was soggy and undercooked, the cauliflower inside very mushy. I tried it and couldn’t have eaten it. When the waitress came to collect plates she asked my wife if it was alright and said when she served the meal it didn’t look right, wasn’t crispy how it normally is. I wanted to say ‘why did you serve it then! ‘ but I didn’t want to make a scene. We said it wasn’t great and she said she would have a word with the chef. When we came to pay the bill, no mention of it, no deduction off the bill, no apology. Very disappointing and although it’s a nice cafe with friendly staff we wouldn’t return .

Wonderful place a little off the beaten track but totally worth a visit. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere in a nice setting and delicious food at reasonable prices. This was my first visit and I will definitely be returning. Recommended

Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit. After finishing our food, we were hurried out because the staff wanted to close an hour early. We were told, we had 10 mins left at 14:55 despite the closing time saying 4pm. When i asked, the lady just shrugged and looked at the fact that no-one else was in the cafe, so therfore, they were clearly telling us that we were not worth their time to remain open. We were considering ordering a piece of cake and an another drink each as we were nursing our new-borns however, clearly, our custom was unwanted. I think this is absolutely disgusting behaviour and definitely not how a well-run business is ran. I dont think anyone should make paying customers feel rushed and unwelcome, it is really not very kind, and in such a small community, I would have expected a much better treatment. As a local, I was hoping this would be a perfect location for us young mums to meet on a regular basis, however I certainly will not be recommending it.

The Barn Café is a lovely welcoming Café that I visit quite regularly for breakfast and for lunch The food is excellent , especially the veggie breakfast which is in my opinion the best in the local area . It’s always hot , fresh and tasty and not greasy in any way . I tend to choose poached eggs with mine and they are cooked perfectly . Other items on the breakfast menu are excellent too and portions are generous . The lunch menu offers a lovely selection too with something for everybody and if just wanting coffee and a cake , their cakes are also excellent as are the cheese scones . Service is usually slick and the staff are always really pleasant and helpful . I really can’t find fault .

Lovely afternoon tea here today. Good value for money. Service was excellent. Catered for our requirements and brought plenty of tea and coffee.

I dined at The Barn Cafe for the first time today, and I must say I am very impressed! I had the jacket potato with chili con carne, salad, and a side of cheesy tortilla chips. Generous portions of delicious food, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and an all around positive atmosphere! Will definitely be returning back.

Brilliant service, friendly staff and the food was with us very quick, cooked Perfectly And lovely environment. I Had a 6oz flame, grilled burger & chips. I will be revisiting this establishment very soon. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Had a wonderful meal today for Mothers Day, a beautiful roast lamb, beef roast & hubby had the sirloin steak! This place never dissapoints!! Absolutely amazing food, attentive staff, clean & welcoming and Monica (the owner) is a lovely lady. A Mother’s Day to remember. Thank you 💐

Worst afternoon tea I have had a jam tart a small chocolate Swiss roll a small macaroon and a small scone we had to ask for cream one lady doesn't drink asked for a coffee and they asked her for £3 10 extra cakes were supermarket bought I was so disappointed as it was a birthday celebration is the second time I have been dissatisfied with this place I will never go again

Had a delightful afternoon tea for 6 people to celebrate a 60th birthday. Food was delicious and staff extremely helpful and attentive. Prices very good. They were happy for me to bring in my own birthday cake and they brought it out when asked. Didn’t feel rushed so has a pleasant few hours

Made to feel as wanted as a heart attack... I was seated at a table and I ordered a couple of drinks, waiting for my wife to join me. We were going to have lunch and the table we were sat at wasn't booked until 4 hours later, which they said was fine when I was given the table... "you can relax until then" they literally said. I was only going to be there for an hour and a half anyway... When my drinks came, I was then told abruptly by a different member of the staff that I had one hour and had to leave. What?? But the table's not booked for another 4 hours I replied. Well, we only allow people to stay for an hour, she retorted. I was quite shocked. I watched for a few minutes as more people came in, and didn't see anyone else get this rather unwelcoming message, so it's obviously not a universal policy. Clearly, this person thought I was just going to get a coffee and sit there taking up a valuable table. In fact I was going to order two lunches and drinks every Sunday for the foreseeable future because my children do art classes across the path. Well, no thanks! I paid for my drinks and left. I don't need to be timed while trying to have lunch... that's just poor hospitality.

Thank you Monica and your staff for looking after 44 ladies who lunched at the Barn Cafe last week. We all had a great time and left well fed.

First visit here on recommendations from atleast 4 of my work colleagues! All came very highly rated. My partner and I were looking for a new place to dine and the Barn Cafe didn't disappoint. We arrived a little earlier than planned but the lovely lad sat us down as our table was all ready for us. Brilliant selection on the menus, the staff were so friendly and the place itself looked so homely. We barely had a wait for our food and my god, the size was astounding! We've paid similar prices in other places and only had a smidge of what was on our plate here today. Very happy indeed! Fabulous prices and even better portion sizes!! I had the hunters chicken and the chicken was just melt in your mouth! My partner said he had the best roast he'd had out in a long time! As other customers were leaving, the staff were quick to clean and lay for the next customers, they were very efficient! There wasn't a mess in sight, which reflects on how well the staff coordinate alongside each other! Clean venue, lovely staff members and brilliant quality food. I'll be visiting again and I'll be sure to recommend to all my friends and family. A hidden gem!!

Been twice now, for brunch. 2friends had the goulash and loved it, l had the prawn sandwich, fab., huge tasty prawns and perfect bread. 2nd. time l took home the sea bass for my husband, a real gourmet, we heated it up for dinner and it was simply perfect, and enough for two.The best food we've ever had.The café looks delightful, flowers. lights, fragrance. Sunday Lunch First ever visit .Absolutely superb service. Staff were all super friendly very very efficient. Service was fast, and the food was superb. I've never had lamb cooked so that it fell apart on the fork .Plate came out with lots of meat ,lots of meat mash ,parsnip Yorkshire etc ,then came the massive bowl of vegetables. Desert was just as nice and the bill was far less than I expected to pay .May even become our favourite. Highly recommended.

Popped in here based on a local business recommendation. All the staff were very nice, polite and helpful and checked in to make sure food was good. Nice layout, and the cafe was kept very clean. Food was good, I had a full breakfast, tea and coffee and it was really good and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend to stop when passing by for a bite to eat and a drink.

Had a lovely roast dinner yesterday with my family. Food was 10/10 as well as service, such a nice place to eat. Overall great place to eat, quick service and lovely waitors/ waitresses. 😁😁😁

Our first visit here and definately won’t be our last, the service was quick and staff very polite. We had the roast chicken and a roast lamb dinner, both superb. There was so much meat too and the lamb very lean, plenty of vegetables and lovely big roast potatoes. I’d have liked dessert but we were too full. We’ll be back to sample more off your delicious menu

My wife and I visited for breakfast this morning and the new proprietors were very welcoming. The breakfast was just perfect and service was exceptional.

Booked for the 28th December at 12pm got sent confirmation..... turned up there and it was closed...why take bookings when closed.... have eaten there a few times and been great.....but was not happy going there and it being closed

Visited the barn for their Christmas lunch with friends. Went on the 12th December, as usual the meal was delicious the service was excellent as usual too. It was so nice to be given time between courses to digest and look forward to the next course. The prawn cocktail was excellent, loads of prawns and a brilliant start to the meal. Had the Turkey meal for the main, loads of meat, in fact I had to give my husband some of the meat, too much for me. There were plenty of fresh vegetables, loads of potatoes and even Yorkshire pudding. I had the plum pudding and custard for dessert, was ok, but obviously a bought in one, but it was good. All in all a lovely experience with friends. Will definitely look at a repeat for next year.

First ever visit to this little gem . Had Christmas dinner yesterday. The food was piping hot down to the last fork full . Fantastic meal . Thank you to all the staff and chefs. Amazing 🤩

Lovely cafe, super helpful and friendly staff. They squeezed us in and looked after us. Hot food, delicious and well seasoned! Great little cafe tucked away and well worth a visit! Food was bought quickly - which we appreciated as we were hungry! Defo recommend!

One of the best restaurants around,quite busy,so expect a wait on occasions, but their roasts lasagne massive with garlic bread etc and the sweet and sour chicken rivals Chinese restaurants, would highly recommend the barn,

Walked in on a Saturday morn in the off chance they could fit us in for brekkie.Were able to seat us.We ordered full English and didn't have to wait too long.We were not disappointed. Lovely brekkie,lovely people.Beautiful building.

Been here on and off for many years, and decided to visit for brunch today about 11:30. Not fancying breakfast or yet lunch I asked if could have beans and cheese on toast. All ingredients they have on the menu and a very simple dish. Never been a problem anywhere else I’ve ever been. The attitude of the server was really quite rude and made me feel like I was asking for something exceptionally unusual and awkward. She just kept stating it wasn’t on the menu. My husband and a full English and asked to swop his toast for a hash brown and abruptly was told well you’ll be charged extra. The food is really good here. The other service staff were friendly and welcoming. Just felt such a shame how we were made up feel. There is a way and a tone to say things.

Sunday lunch for 9 people every meal was super, beef tender, chicken succulent and lamb to die for. The staff are great and attentive have been loads of times and will keep going back........

Very glad friend recommended The Barn Cafe, we have been only twice but it’s on our list of good places to visit as both the food, atmosphere and service is excellent.

Most disappointed. 11 quid for a breakfast. Sausages undercooked and burnt one side. Bacon burnt. Egg swimming in grease. Why does toast come out 20 mins b4 breakfast?.

Great Sunday lunch for two earlier this week. More lamb than I could eat. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Booking again for next Tuesday.

Nice but one of the dearest breakfast we have ever had

When we used to come here the food was lovely, staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. After two recent visits we have been left completely unsatisfied and disappointed. A simple request to have scrambled egg instead of fried is a complete no, with no explanation. Led to a breakfast without egg and still paying full price. We ordered a cheese, ham and mushroom omelette in which we were given a cheese and ham omelette, after making the staff know the omelette was returned after a good 5 minutes with just mushrooms chucked on top of a omelette and chips which were now cold, instead of the mushrooms being in the omelette. There just seems to be no care for the customers and as if it’s a take what your given service- yet charging a lot of money.. Very sad and disappointed as there was once so much potential and we were frequent visitors.. we won’t be returning.

This is what it's like when everything is done RIGHT! The best breakfast I have had outside (and including) 5 star hotels. Service very polite and friendly, lovely place to be, high quality ingredients perfectly cooked - who could ask for more? I popped in because I was passing, but in future I will go out of my way to get here.

Booked for coffee and lunch. The establishment said we hadn't booked for lunch and as the table had been booked by someone else, we were asked to leave. Apparently only allowed 90 mins per session. We also had a safe and healthy issue with a very slippery floor. Both my friends nearly lost their footing. I've never been asked to leave a restaurant before and as this place was recommended by 2 different people was disappointed that when we were ready to order we were asked to leave.

I have been going to The Barn for a very long time. The food used to be so good and staff knowledgeable and friendly. Went yesterday and person taking order did not even look at us let alone smile , i said i was a veggie and asked for 2 veggie sausages , grilled tomatoeS, hash browns and an egg. I got one sausage, one slice of bacon !! half a tomato and hash browns. My point is i am a veggie we don't eat bacon. I asked for 2 sausages and only got one , asked for grilled tomatoes and got half . Service poor Food poor and not what was ordered Atmosphere cold and unwelcoming. The barn replied stating the comments below:- Response from the owner 20 hours ago Lesley, apologies you did not get our 5*service which we pride ourselves on or the food that you ordered. However what you were ordering is not on our menu. But we do try our best to give customers what they ask for. Again our apologies. This comment is untrue it was breakfast of course eggs, hash browns, tomatoes are on the breakfast menu! shame they couldn't actually address the issues i raised

Food could have been hotter. Portion sizes were really good. Service was hit & miss. When we asked waiter for a drink someone on next table asked same waiter for something they forgot what we had asked for so we had to wait & ask another waiter.
