Staff not at all friendly very flippant, staff member coughing all over the place without covering his mouth. Pie was stone cold (they did take it away and warm it) fish batter was very thick and anemic, donner wrap lacked meat, burgers very dry clearly over cooked. I asked the man for burger sauce on the side and I was was told only ketchup and mayo was available for restaurant eaters (very strange). Steer clear!!

ordered at 1735 with a 30 min delivery time, it finally arrived at 1855. the delivery driver then said that he had spent 10 mins walking up and down the road trying to find our house. we are not in a difficult area to find and is easy to find no other delivery service has this issue.

I went to collect when I got a notification saying the order was ready - it wasn't ready and I waited about 15 minutes when I got there. The whole point of ordering ahead was so I that there's little to no wait 🤣 large chips portion was tiny

I’ve always ordered from M&A fish bar for years and never ever had a problem I ordered one large chips two large battered sausages steak and onion pie two drinks and a bottle of onion vinegar, unfortunately one of the sausages was missing and the bottle of onion Vinegar, once we settled down to eat our dinner I noticed that the batter on the sausages was under cooked I had to peel the sausages to eat them due to being pregnant - unhappy is a understatement.

Open on Sundays !! The best fish and chips in the area. Staff is very sweet.

Had a take out budget fish n chips for 8£. The size of it is humongous which I didn’t expect. Fish was very fresh and was cooked nicely. Was recommended by a local here and was very pleased.

We chose M&A Fish Bar as it had a 4.5 star rating. Our previous fish & chip shop has ceased trading (owner moved away) and was a hard act to follow as they had wonderful food. We ordered and paid via Just Eat. The delivery was made in good time and the food was hot (they did charge £1.75 for delivery, this is shown when ordering). The food, the fish was over cooked with thick crunchy/hard batter, and unfortunately, this seemed to hide the fact that considering we paid for large, the amount of fish inside the batter was disappointing. The chips were hard and crispy, although hubby said he prefers them that way. At £11.50 per fish (1 × large haddock & 1 x large plaice) I would expect it to be cooked nicely, fish doesn't need alot of time to cook, the plaice was mushy. The chips of which we had 2 large portions for three of us, were £5.50 a portion. Had I have been eating in, I would have sent the fish and chips back, they were not particularly enjoyable, the batter was inedible, and therefore thrown away. There were no complaints from our son who had a burger, a half pounder with cheese and with salad. It looked very nice. However for a total cost of £46.99 I don't think it was a good value meal and I will now look for an alternative fish & chip shop. Just giving my honest opinion.

I had the biggest piece of plaice ever filled my large plate,lovely crispy batter and hot one of the best fish and chips i have had in a long time.

Very disappointed with tonight's fish n chips. We use M&A's a lot for delivery, takeaway and to eat in and have always had good food but tonight the chips were cooked at LEAST twice so reheated and the batter on the fish was virtually inedible making the fish well below their usual standard 😠

The chips are very nice and the staff are very nice I will recommend this chip shop if you live in Clacton

For a large kebab tin was three quarters full off chicken pulled off the bone and other quarter lamb.

Horrible experience. The oil on all the food made it alll taste disgusting. Food poisoning. Never again.

We have used M & A several times, the prices are good, the quality and size of the fish is good and the chips are always fresh with big portions.

Disappointing meal. Although the top pastry of the minced beef pie was warm the filling and the pastry case was stone cold. As was the halloumi in the wrap.The chips, however, were lovely and not greasy at all.

M&A fish bar AVOID THEM, Complained via delivery foodhub took ages for call back Owner was RUDE. He said do not use us again I don't want your business he then started to swear and said "don't beep beep use us again" this was the owner not an employee we asked if new ownership as food quality was bad cold dry ended up £15 in the bin. If you are looking for fish & chip shop. I would say avoid M&A These new owners don't care about customers, only care about money not returning customers. Used them for years and in last three months we have had two issues one no food delivered but internet money transfer still taken. And tonight was like they had re-fried chicken 2 or 3 times as it was so dry like eating cardboard. Main thing the manager does not care and swares over the phone at us the customers. Said don't order from us again.

Have ordered delivery from here and also picked up 5 portions of fish and chips for the ladies in my mum's ward in Clacton hospital. It was so good that even the nurses was asking where I got it from. Highly recommended for good service, great food and a fair price.

M & A are rated the best Fish and Chip shop in Clacton, they prove this time and time again. Fish cooked so well, covered in a rich tasty batter and always plenty of chips. The staff are great too, they are so pleased to see each and every customer.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. this little gem of a fish and chips shop is the best I've had in years the chips are real potatoes not frozen and the fish is as big as a whale cooked fresh to order we will definitely be back on our next visit 10/10

I ordered a fish and chip takeaway lunch time today the fish and chips were absolutely delicious and the staff amazing. The female staff member was just so kind bringing our order out to the car as my mother is disabled and I didn’t want to leave her outside on her own. The service was perfect and we had the best lunch ever as we pulled in opposite the sea. Thank you for making our day a special one and your fish and chips delicious. I love this fish and chip shop, love the staff, great customer service, happy cheerful staff. Food portions are very generous and a nice peaceful atmosphere, is tucked away down a side street. 10 min walk from seafront very reasonable price too. Great value for money

The worst savaloy I’ve ever tasted. The inside colour was grey and the texture was so mushy, flavour didn’t even taste like a savaloy. Chips were average, vinegar was so watered down you could barely taste it. Small chips and savaloy came to £5.20, expensive and disappointing. I wish I’d of gone to one of the chip shops by the pier. Such a shame as this used to be a lovely place to eat when the previous owners were there. It seems quality has gone down and prices have shot up.
