Had a fantastic dinner the young barman was great even though he was a spurs supporter he was very friendly and he is a credit to the queen's head

Took my grandchildren for a roast dinner for birthday treat was very nice

I have eaten here before and the food was delicious. We booked a table in advance for our anniversary and even pre-booked our roast dinner. When we arrived the staff had no knowledge of our booking and simply said “we have no roasts” no apology or anything. Really disappointing.

Always get a friendly welcome and good food here.

If you are looking for a pub that caters for all ages and doesn't feel stuffy, this is the place to go. Plenty of open space, great vibe and the staff are very welcoming and friendly and quick service even when busy! The land Lady Ell is a real diamond, she makes you feel so welcomed be it your first time here or be you a regular, honestly she is one of if not the best landlord/publican I have come across, so hats off to her and her wonderful staff. The food is absolutely lovely and so so yummy with a great choice too! Great choice of beers and ales and bar snacks too! (Cos well beer is what we come to the pub for, mostly lol unless your a wine drinker). And yes they also serve non alcoholic drinks too. They also have plenty of tv's for live sport, as well as plenty of parking. Honestly a fantastic pub and the recent St Paddy's day was brilliant with live Irish dancing followed by a fantastic band and free Irish stew (which was bloody yummy by the way)! So if you are looking for a new pub to call your regular than honestly you can't go wrong with The Queens Head, don't just take my word for it try it for yourself. Oh and pets are welcomed too :). (No this wasn't written by someone who works here but someone who comes here regular both with friends and also when I want a chilled drink on my own).

It was a sad time on the 27th As we layed our friend whom we went to school with. To rest. The food was splendid. And the staff was really nice friendly and quick...x great Atmosphere Lovely pub. We had been in there with John. John Miles.

Wonderful friendly staff and delicious food. Ellie and the team really make you feel really at home.

Our first visit was a Saturday afternoon for family meet up & a meal, food was ok & reasonable price, vast choice of beers What we didn't realise was this was very much a sports orientated meeting place for local football fans etc, With approx 6 large TVs, snooker table etc, All of which generated so much noise it was hard to hear what we were saying! Perhaps we just picked a busy time , but it was obviously designed for a lad's meeting place rather than family get together, nice land lady,2 car parks, would go back but probably not if football or rugby on TV

Great roast dinner make sure your hungry when you go there lovely atmosphere and very nice staff great value for money make sure you book, we will back soon.

The worst experience I had , we were a big table , for sure they don’t know how to deal with that , we were waiting long inclusive for the drinks , the staff is not proactive , we waited 1h 30 minutes for a roast dinner , the Yorkshire pudding was frozen ( from the freezer bag straight to the plate) for sure this pub don’t have a proper chef , the pub was busy but no crazy busy a lot of drinkers , short of staff , very bad management, stay away from this place , this pub have a potential but you need to put the right staff and management that can deal to work under pressure

Had a lovely roast dinner and dessert!! I had the gammon and was absolutely delicious! Staff are so nice, and despite being crazy busy, they kept their cool and were still very attentive!! Highly recommend. Make sure you book. Otherwise, the chances are you won't get a table! We will definitely be back! Normally I take a pic of my food to do a review but I tucked in without thinking about it!

Wonderfully run place, spotlessly clean great service

Held a fabulous 90th birthday party at the Queens Head for 50 family members and friends. From the moment of enquiry right through to the end, Ellie was super helpful and keen to accommodate all our wishes to make the party a great success. Buffet was excellent quality and exactly what we wanted. Had family photos showing on the tv and perfect background music playing. The birthday boy had a great time. Can’t wait for the next occasion to party at the Queens Head!

A youngish crowd for round these parts. Not as rough and ready as Macs and used to have Rivertown IPA on draft. No more however, so no craft beer alternatives at all. I spied some brewdog cans in the fridge and got excited only to be told they were the alcohol free ones? Very dispiriting I must say. I eventually settled down to Large G+T's with angostura bitters after a pint of Madri which were OK but pricey. Staff and service were decent but not standout. I've heard the pizza's are good but never tried them. Last time we came the same round was a different price every time we went to the bar, this seems to have settled down a bit now. There was some karaoke on, but it was easy enough to ignore.

Stumbled upon this pub after needing to go to a greyhound rescue kennel nearby. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the Yorkshire pudding wrap was great. Had never seen this as an option before and partly ordered it because I was feeling too lazy to eat with a knife and fork but it was the best roast I've had in ages. You miss out on the veg but a fair compromise and it comes with a pot of gravy to dip your wrap into :)

My local for years, always a good atmosphere and good selection of drinks

Popped in at random as we were in the area and were really nicely surprised. Staff are friendly and can't do enough for you and the Sunday dinners were very good and reasonably priced. The Yorkshire pudding wraps are worth visiting for alone.

We highly recommend this venue for a party venue. We had our wedding reception here and it was fantastic. Ellie and the team were very accommodating to all our ideas and really helped make our day stress free, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We regularly go for lunch too and the food is very reasonable and tastes great. It’s a family favourite of ours. Thank you to all at The Queens Head for always making us feel at home and for all your help to make our wedding day a special one.

Great value for food and drinks

Came here for a few pints with my old man for a catch up. Happy to say that there is free pool on Thursdays which was a great laugh. Haven’t tried the food, so unfortunately can not comment on that.

Great pub, lovely staff - ordered tea and got Tea Pigs so it was a good indication of what was to come, good food and the prices are super low.

Went there for a sad occasion of a wake. However, found the food there was excellent. The staff were very friendly. A nice atmosphere about the place.

Pop in here for a beer or 2 every now & then & today April 23 decided to pop in for a roast & as the Mrs said 'That was Banging😂' ... Ellie & her staff have always been not only great but like publican's used/should be.. always polite , always chat to you & welcome you in... Will be going again to sample more of the food as well as drink due to the fact the foods Banging Lol & for the greatest staff.

Uk visitors with kids spontaneously stopped on a Sunday en route to London. What a find! Bradley managed to find us a table, we had a wicked Yorkshire wrap roast which the manager called a ‘hug’ - she was right! Small sensible menu of classics and riffs on the same nicely executed for a clearly devoted clientele. Cozy, friendly, atmospheric and staffed by some lovely people - wish it were my local I would be in and out constantly. We were totally spoilt and hope to return

Attended a private function. Service and food were good Has 2car parks. Worth a look and.appears value for money.

Private function, Very nice pub, friendly staff, well set up. Good selection of beers spirits etc. Several tv's for sports, comfortable.

Christmas eve was full, however definitely under staffed. Waiting 25 minutes plus for a drink, if it have been staffed better. It would have been an enjoyable night out.

I went here with my family and friend’s and it has an amazing comfy feel We all had roast dinner and the food was amazing, meat was so tender and there was nothing left on any of our plates even my elderly mother could eat it and she has no teeth,ha ha The manager is such a lovely lady and nothing is too much for her offering pretences to my younger child about what veg she likes and dislikes,she is very welcoming,and it is not over priced We all had dessert too and all very delicious. I shall be making this pub my local for a roast on Sunday with the family Also they have plenty of television s if your a football fan

Always visit when see our good friend Ted who is in the nursing home opposite very friendly staff and locals and we all enjoy the good food

Good decor, nice people, relaxing afternoon. Not much else Ellie and the team can do as it's rare to give a 5* on first visit. Will have a mea next visit and stay longer without a doubt

Went into the pub for a drink and to get my son a meal. Got served really quickly, meal was decent. Leah came and checked on us a couple times to check if we needed a refill and to ask about the food. Lovely service from all staff. Will definitely be returning.

Came in for the quiz last Monday, really enjoyed ourselves great atmosphere, definitely be coming back again and thank you to Debbie who made us very welcomed and gave great service

This was our first visit to this pub to celebrate our Mum's birthday, who had not be out from her Care home for over 2 years. Very memorable and joyful visit. Lovely atmosphere and spacious pub. Ellie and her staff were absolutely amazing, welcoming and attentive. The food portions were generous and very tasty. We would definitely recommend and return again.

Very friendly atmosphere, everyone was friendly and very helpful and the fish and chips and hunter’s chicken were to die for. We will be back when visiting our friend in the nursing’s home opposite, he also thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, compliments to the chefs

Had a really lovely time today at The Queens head with family & friends. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant and friendly. A really good pub to go to. The fish & chips recommend by the chef was delicious & the chicken I had was scrumptious 😋 Would recommend to all of our friends. We will be back very soon.

I (and various family members) have visited The Queens Head frequently and always had a lovely visit. Recently I planned a wake for my father, who used to visit the pub, to join the quiz night quite a lot. Ellie was the most gorgeous person throughout the whole planning process and it was a lovely day. The whole place looked lovely and we were helped through the organising process so much. Lovely pub for a drink, lovely staff and a great atmosphere.

Gave all the residents from Galley Hill and Breach Barns who were stranded a welcoming cup of tea or coffee and sandwiches whilst we waited for the road to re open. A big hug to the Landlady for her kindness.
