Really poor service Told him what table number we was at the till, he put wrong number down, then told me it was pending in my bank. But the money had gone through. Trying to tell me that the payment hadnât gone through. Asked the manager for his name - he relplied John, wasnât apologetic, didnât want to know, just walked off.

Not normally a fan of âpub grubâ but had a fantastic meal with the wife. Large selection to choose from and food was really well cooked. Great range of drinks and the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. First time Iâve visited in a while and the entire experience was a pleasure. Would definitely recommend.

A disappointing visit. The food was tepid with one item on each plate hot. Clearly left on the side for the final item. And this happens but itâs often how you deal with it. When questioned at the end whether management has been made aware the staff response was yes but nothing more. Food ok. Humour and pitta was nice to start with piping hot bread. The steak I had was nice. The accompanying mushrooms very oily. As said above it was quite tepid. Service was very slow. Sitting out in the garden we were rather overlooked. Itâs nice out there though. All in all not a brilliant experience. Hopefully just down to bad luck on the night.

We visited on a busy Sunday for a roast as we'd heard some good things. I have to say we were not disappointed! We did have a little wait for food but every table was full, and the food was well worth the wait. The waitresses were brilliant very polite and welcoming. The beef was beautifully cooked and a bargain at ÂŁ19, especially for locally sourced beef. The Yorkshire pudding was huge đ If I had to offer some advice it would be the whole pub needing a spruce up with a lick of paint, I think once this is done it will make the world of difference. Will be back.

Every time I go here I have such high expectations and every time I am disappointed. Today I bought a bacon roll and a coffee. The coffee was weak and poor quality. The bacon roll was stale. It was a brioche bun and clearly a few days old. I sent it back and was given a new one. Was that bun any better? No, they simply grilled it on the outside as well as the inside to try to hide that fact that it was also stale. The service staff are lovely. The food is, and has always been, average but today really was too much. You would get a better roll at Greggs.

ââââ Reliable, Affordable, and Perfectly Located The Last Post is exactly what youâd expect from a great Wetherspoons â reliable, affordable, and consistent. You know what youâre going to get, and thatâs part of the charm. The food is decent, the drink selection is solid, and the prices are hard to beat, especially compared to nearby options. The location couldnât be better â right next to Southend Central train station â making it a super convenient stop whether youâre just arriving in town or heading out. Itâs a large venue, so thereâs usually space to sit, though it can get packed in the evenings, especially on weekends. Mornings are much quieter and perfect if youâre after a relaxed breakfast or coffee. Overall, itâs a classic Wetherspoons experience: nothing flashy, but it does exactly what it promises. Great value and a reliable go-to in Southend.
