It’s always wonderful to visit Fritton Lake, laid back luxury with such beautiful grounds, great food and lovely atmosphere. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful, the Club House beautifully decorated. It’s a rare treat to find somewhere as lovely as this, and it’s dog friendly!

It was a very damp and showery morning and we weren’t sure if the restaurant was even open! But we tried the door and it was . The lady on the bar asked the kitchen if they were still serving breakfast (it was only 10.10am) and they were. We sat down and there was a very damp smell in the room. Which was a little off putting but We ordered full English and Vegan breakfast, both with coffee. The coffee were served piping Hot which was lovely as usually they go cold before breakfast is served. But breakfast came and coffee was still hot!. Breakfast was also really hot and delicious, good local produce and served with a smile. Deffo come back again! Serves lunches and coffee and cake too so worth drying at different times of the day.

Had an evening with friends celebrating, the staff we amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was amazing, a taste sensation, the lemon tart was delightful, my only critique would be portion size, especially for the larger eaters, maybe sides could be added to the menu, I’m sure if we had asked they would have accommodated us but the meals can and we just tucked in, we will definitely be going back.

Arrived with our three grandchildren, all very hungry after cinema to find no pizza or ham on menu. No reason given. We were told this by a surly bar lady after selecting our chosen dishes. Unhelpful staff and shabby surroundings. Needles to say we left. McDonald’s much better!

We considered both the River Garden and the Rush Cutters and decided unanimously on the River Garden. We visited for a post Christmas meal with friends. Service was friendly and quick, the atmosphere was friendly, pleasant and the food was really nice. The pub was decorated well, needs a bit of love in places but its a proper old pub!. We had a really nice time! This is the third time I have visited this year and the third time we have enjoyed ourselves.

We stopped here for dinner & didn’t know what to expect, we walked in to a lovely stylish pub, lovely atmosphere & super friendly, professional staff. The menu was excellent, offering a wide range of dishes to suit every taste. The food was amazing! Fresh ingredients cooked by a chef, delicious flavours, not thrown together and not processed food. I highly recommend this lovely place & we will definitely be back as have just moved to the area. I want to specifically mention how wonderful all the staff were, a really high calibre, professional & super friendly, they work really hard to give an exceptional customer experience. I felt very sad that they had to deal with a very unpleasant customer whilst we were there, so I hope they know that what they are doing is outstanding, really valued & appreciated, so well done!

Lunch - fish & chips & steak pie. £25 Fish was dreadful, looked and tasted like the worst frozen supermarket fillet. Pie had a pastry top and while this was better, it was clearly microwaved so the pastry was soggy. We’ve often had tea and cake here in the garden which was fine. We didn’t expect fine dining but did expect better.

What can I say, due to the pub we was in deciding to close the kitchen as they was too busy. My wife decided to give the railway a call but not expecting to get in. Well they managed to fit us in at the last minute. The pub was very nice and clean, and cannot fault the staff for their service. The food was well presented and tasted lovely, we will most definitely be going back in the future.

Sadly I have to share that we found our meal not value for money. Small portion of Lasagna was highlighted to waitress and to be fair the cook apologised and gave a second portion. Tiny dish of peas served with scampi (6 small pieces) Just left a flat feeling. Have had nice coffee here before and it’s handy to shop in the store. £13.50 for each meal. Oh

Awful. A very bad tempered and cantankerous host spouting uninvited right wing nonsense. Made for an unpleasant atmosphere. The boards outside with their ridiculous conspiracy theories should have been warning enough. Avoid like the plague.
