Arrive at 1.30pm. Told we had to wait for a table as we were a large party, that’s no problem. When seated 10 minutes later we had to wait a long time to order drinks , even a longer time for them to arrive. Ordered food, 15 minutes later another waitress came over and said there was no fish left ‘the chef can’t find any’ she said. Why didn’t the original waitress know this when we originally ordered? Had to get menus and then go to the bar to reorder as no sign of staff to take our new order , (only about 30% of tables taken so not busy). Ordered at bar and said we had been here an hour and needed the food by 3pm, told by bar staff that would be ok. 10 minutes later original waitress came over and spoke so rudely to us saying that no way would the food be ready by then ( still 25 minutes away), making it sound that it was our fault for asking for a pub meal to be served within 90 minutes of entering an over half empty premises. Terrible customer service under the new ownership. We’ve been visiting the pub for over 22 years, as locals, not likely to visit again and will be telling neighbours of our awful experience. Plenty of other places we can visit, such a shame as it was a good establishment.

Lovely meal I chose the lamb shank it was delicious so tender. Husband chose hunters chicken he was most impressed plenty of food on his plate all cooked to perfection Staff were lovely most helpful yet professional. We thoroughly enjoyed whole experience

Got there for 11.30 am, but doors don't open until 12:00. When you look on the Web it still states open 11.30. They need to correct the times

Corrine done a fantastic job looking after my party of 13 (including 7 kids) really appreciate her help at this fantastic location.

I am out with my Friends and Collegues dining in this place for our Christmas celebration and I can see why there is no one else here. The staff are rude and very unhelpful. Firstly, we were told in no uncertain terms that we were not allowed to order and pay individually. We had to start a tab. Eventually they let us pay individually but they made us know they were not happy. We waited a lifetime for our food, which was "meh." Now we are being told the bar is closed at 22:00 when on the website it says 22:30. My whole party are extremely dissapointed with our visit. It should have been a night of celebration but unfortunately it was more of a nightmare. We will not be back and we all will be telling our friends and family to avoid this place like the plague.

We had a fabulous meal at the Yorkshire Grey and had a lovely lady serve us (apparently she is known as the old lady but she is infact the fabulous Corinne) she looked after us so well. The food was really reasonably priced and delicious. I had a pea and courgette risotto, hubby had lasagne and mum had hunters chicken. All of which I would recommend. Thanks. We will be back.

Friendly atmosphere with excellent quiz hosted by Corrine. Always a good laugh and we’ve always had a good experience with food. Staff always make us feel welcome and remember tiny details from past conversations.

Always a nice spot for Lunch. Very friendly staff, plenty of choices on the menu. Corrine looked after us and was excellent, friendly and chatty and obviously cares very much about giving her customers a great experience, and she does 10/10. Food was superb and we will be back soon.

It was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. From the initial warm welcome from Dan, to attentive but unpressured service from Libby and fantastic food, our whole experience was outstanding. I don't usually leave reviews, but felt compelled to feed back what a great venue Dan and his team have created at Yorkshire Grey. Bravo!

Corinne gave us a nice welcome and was very professional, pleasant and friendly. Sunday lunch was very nice and good atmosphere felt very comfortable.

Been here for many years. Havnt had food in a long time but since the new management this place has really improved. Especially the food. Really recommend the prawn and chorizo risotto. Bar staff was really friendly especially a girl called Libby. Overall great experience.

Very entertaining pub quiz hosted by Koriine, although I shall change this review to 1 star if you don’t try to pronounce reciprocity when we next visit. You have been warned 😂

We had a great meal last April and six months later I'm sorry to say that the quality and portion sizes have diminished somewhat. I understand that the management has changed and that they are trying to cut costs.

this is not a place we would visit regularly it needs a good makeover it may have changed for the better since May

Haven't been in for a while but used to go often especially for the quiz night. Pub is back to where it was, clean and welcoming. Had food from the new menu and service was great thanks Chantel and Dan enjoyable evening.

Last Thursday lunch time my wife and I had lovely meal at the Yorkshire Grey, I had a nicely cooked sirloin steak, and my wife had a very tasty Lasagne. We hadn't been to this pub for 18 months previously the food had been average and the place shabby and dirty. It is now is a lovely clean friendly environment, food choice much better. The manager and staff have done a good job turning this pub around.

Having visited three times over the past month we are not surprised that this pub is on its knees. Each visit has had issues with the food. On our first visit we were served a steak with the mixed grill that was inedible due to the gristle and vein within it. The response…an apology but it didn’t feel sincere. Our second visit a hair…a long hair…in the mango and lime chicken which put the recipient off the whole meal…free dessert to apologise. Third and this will be our final visit, all dishes overcooked and greasy. Customer service is appalling. On our second visit, bearing in mind we were one of three tables, the service was slow and painful. Several customers came in for a drink, stood at the bar for about 10 minutes before leaving. We waited so long for drinks that were ordered, and on two occasions forgotten, it was ridiculous. If we were so inclined we could have all left without paying as there were no staff to be seen for a very long time. One customer who did want to pay ended up going into the kitchen to try and find someone. On our last visit the drinks selection was limited with ingredients for several drinks out of stock. We left just after 8 leaving 6 other people in the pub on a Saturday night on the hottest day of the year. The pub is tired and in urgent need of refurbishment but why would Green King invest in a pub that is dying. Such a shame as it used to be a thriving place to go.

Hadn’t been the “Yorkie” for ages, looked on trip advisor at the reviews, which looked ok. Visited for sunday lunch, arriving at 1pm. The place was nearly empty which rang alarm bells, and they kept ringing! The table we were shown to was sticky, and had clearly not been cleaned. The pub itself is well past its best, cobwebs everywhere, and dirty windows. We ordered drinks via the app and they arrived promptly. However our server spilt a fair amount of one drink on the table, did apologise, but left the mess for us to clear up with a serviette! The 2 pints of Beaver town neck oil were tasteless- the worst pint of neck oil I’ve ever had. The 2 roast dinners were of child portion size, turkey and beef were soggy, & the horseradish & cranberry sauce were runny! The Burger ordered was also small with wet onion rings! The only positive thing about this meal was the chips were well seasoned This meal didn’t cost the earth, but we were expecting far better than this! We left feeling hungry. We wont be visiting again

Sadly this pub has let us down again. We thought it had improved and have returned a few times to help it recover as food is really nice now. But service is terrible if the manager is not in that night. All orders were wrong...

The Duck confit was very good and very well portioned and priced, the chocolate fondant was rich but nicely balanced with the vanilla ice cream and fresh raspberries, overall food was great. Corinne was very helpful and friendly. Clean plates all around.
