Globe Inn in Central Bedfordshire

Enjoyed the lighter bite menu for lunch. Good quality food- the chocolate brownie & icecream was especially delicious! Good atmosphere & welcoming staff.

4 of us for lunch with two young dogs , food and service was excellent very friendly and welcoming ideal for our get together thank you

Gorgeous lunch at this pub for my birthday! It is a typical country pub, cosy lights and yummy food. I went with my husband, dad and stepmum. I had the chicken burger, my husband had the gammon, dad had the pie and stepmum had the beef rib bourguinon. We also went for desserts, i had the cheesecake, my husband and dad had sticky toffee pudding and my stepmum had the eton mess. It was honestly all so good! We had a really lovely waitress too and it was really good value for money! Lovely setting right on the canal, although take it slow on your approach to the pub very bendy and probably slippy in winter. Toilets nice and clean! Cant wait to come back!

Food was great. Many things not available on the menu but what we did manage to have was cooked to perfection. The only down side to the whole experience was the feeling of being rushed. Just sat down and was expected to know what we wanted to order as we were taking our coats off. Then the mains were coming out as we were still finishing the starters. Same with desert menu and paying the bill. It’s as though they wanted us out before we sat down

A very busy lunch time service but the man serving behind the bar and our waitress Jane were amazing. So friendly and remained calm and professional under pressure.

Jane provided really good attentive table service. Food was delicious for all of us and plenty of it. Good VFM Great location too.

We had a really good meal. And the service was really good, especcially from the famous Toby and Jane. Really nice duo and they had some great recommendations. When i'm in the neighbourhood i Will be back for some more!

I came to the globe yesterday for to have a couple drinks and went for a family meal. Jane was amazing to me and my family. The food service was brilliant. Inside the pub was nice and warm which gave us a cozy feeling. The atmosphere along with the Jane serving us definitely made us all feel warm and welcome❤️

Lovely pub inside had there duo beef and turkey roast dinner very disappointed as the beef and turkey seem to taste as if it came from a packet also one slice of each plus the roast tatties were like frozen ones too. Not a proper roast for what they charge 😡

Went to the globe for a family meal yesterday. We were served by a lovely lady called Jane. Her customer service was wonderful& attended to our table promptly and with a smile :) food was good also :)

We came for a lovely family roast yesterday (Sunday 20th) and our waitress Jane was absolutely amazing, really made us laugh and her service was 10/10! She made sure we was always okay and was satisfied with everything. Jane is a credit to the pub!

A classic English Pub. The pies were baked to perfection. Had the chicken pot pie, my wife the beef and ale. The portions were large, great value for $, Emily was an excellent and friendly server. Enjoyed our visit.

We recently visited and was served by Josh, Overall, dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service from Josh & the team and charming ambiance made for a memorable experience. We highly recommend and we will be revisiting very soon. Thank you !

A lovely pub and popular for obvious reasons! Being located right on the canal bank it’s a great place to relax outside during nice weather and fortunately there are lots of tables available. There’s also a small garden area which has some options in the shade. Inside has nice decor and everywhere is clean. The bar is large with plenty of drink options at reasonable prices, with the bar staff being fast and friendly. Toilets are up some steep stairs on the first floor but they’re modern and clean. A great pub and I’ll certainly be returning!

I love this place! The burger special (Italian chicken with a pint of Moretti) is delicious and a perfect light lunch. Delightful staff, great atmosphere...brilliant!

Was craving a Sunday roast after a weekend wedding away. Found this ‘hidden gem’. The Global Inn is tucked away in a windy and narrow road over a tiny bridge overlooking a river canal. The food hit the spot- it was delicious! We got the turkey and beef duo. Along with the rumble / pie and the mini dessert of Eaton Mess with a cuppa! Would have had the same thing for breakfast lunch and dinner any day of the week! Staff were great, attentive and friendly. The venue was clean, warm and welcome. Would definitely come back. Wish that was my local. Other points to share: - seems to be a dog friendly venue - looks to be relatively wheelchair friendly ( a wash room on the ground floor and ramps ) - car park situation behind the venue - narrow but short road

Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Phoebe and Vanessa were extremely friendly and their knowledge of the pubs menus, deals and upcoming activities was impressive. Two great ladies to be at the front of a Greene King pub!

Moored up in front of the pub and came to the Globe for lunch as meeting friends. Service was fab and food was really delicious. This is the 3rd or 4th time we have visited while on canal holidays, and we highly recommend a visit

I took my mum to the globe for a birthday treat, the restaurant was really well cleaned, wheelchair access is great, the staff are really professional and friendly , we had the scampi and chips which was cooked perfectly, I will definitely eat there again, there was not a lot of waiting time the food arrived quickly, I give them 5 out of 5 definitely a great place to go, also plenty of parking space.

Great place by the canal. Sit outside in Summer or winter lovely fire inside. Usually 3 or 4 ales in. Often pop in for a beer or coffee and cake while walking the dog.

Loverly canal side pub, real old wordly. We only had cake and coffee but it was very nice.

I hadn't been here for years, you still have to drive over a little bridge to get to the pub, only enough room for one way traffic. Food was really nice, we sat outside right next to the canal. Inside looked comfortable and cosy. It's a Green king pub, so you can get Blue light discount at this time anyhow.

Slow service, did not have everything on the menu, J20 was not genuine, only two other tables there at 9.30 on a Saturday evening.

We had a wonderful stay here, great atmosphere, good food and Jane was our excellent server; We'll be happy to come back on our next visit to the UK;

Visited today with my dad for a spot of lunch. Received a warm welcome & chose to sit by the window as was brighter. Ordered the king prawn cocktail for dad (he wasn't very hungry) & I had the macaroni cheese. Very nice. Service was very good although our waitress reeled off all the draught beers but never mentioned the offer on Fosters which I've just seen on your website. Overall a nice visit but your premises could be cleaner...the windowsill was covered in what looked like bugs & my dad dropped his walking stick & as i picked it up i felt & saw cobwebs all in the corner. Personally this would put me off coming again.

Busy pub by the canal. Lovely setting buy very busy. We had to wait 90 mins for food . Was lovely food when it finally arrived.

Lovely old style pub by the canal, enjoyed a lovely meal today. Jane who served us was very helpful; friendly and accommodating of my elderly parents needs. And bonus is that you can enjoy a canal walk after.

Food was palatable but not anything special, relatively inexpensive. Tucked away from the main road. Pleasant meal overall.

By far the best vegan dessert I've ever had. Mains were equally divine. Great prices and friendly service.

I came here with my wife whilst we were on a holiday visiting friends down south! I found the service was fantastic and manager Jo looked after us with her colleague Josh. Food was delicious and the pub is very cozy.

The burger was good but not the best the mayo was not spread properly it was all in the middle of the bun. The bacon was really crispy in my opinion to crispy. The chips were good but some of the salt was in big chunks so not all the of the chips got salted

As she did for all her other customers! Food was the best I've had at a pub in a long time. Wasn't expecting what I got and total value for money!

Jayne, Beth and Myah were exceptional hosts. The atmosphere and care provided was second to non. To top it off the food was devine.

Although there was a wait on ordering food, it was well worth it. The best fish and chips I've had in a pub. The pork belly bites were delicious. Will be back.

Aug’24 New owners from previous review and now a 4 star versus 3 star review. Staff super friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere inside and canal side great. The food we had was delicious and well presented but vegan and vegan gluten free options very limited. Also, the value for money for a side of fries or onion rings is not good eg. £3+ for 6 onion rings. 2022 Idyllic location by the canal with loads of seating albeit sunny or under the trees. Indoors is also lovely. So gets really busy. Bar staff friendly. However, food (at least for the vegan options) is disappointing and not great value for money. As per pic, the koftas I am sure were just microwaved and were not nice with unwashed salad from a bag no doubt. Great place for drinks and snacks however.

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. So relaxing on the canal front. Decided to stay for supper. Had fish and chips, which was an excellent choice recommended by Emily, who gave us great service and was very attentive. We will definitely be back!

We came down too the globe Inn pub too enjoy the sunshine. As we were sitting by the waters edge we saw some amazing looking plate of food come out too the tables. We could not resit and we definitely was not disappointed the food was amazing. Our waitresses Emily was very attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend the trip down and enjoy the surroundings the food the atmosphere.... we will definitely be back again 5 stars brilliant!!!!!!

Lovely pub next to the canal with great food and reasonably priced drinks. I recommend the feta and pear sandwich.
