The Hungry Horse - Half Moon in Forest Heath

Last time I visited, the place was under new management and everything was good. This time, after recommending to friends, it was a complete shambles. Staff who didn't care, just look at you and walk into the kitchen, took 23 minutes to get served then food was 45 minutes later and dry and cold Bèer was OK but the real ale wasn't to the standard when I last visited. When I tried complaining no one came over until I said I would go to head office direct. No refund just a routine apology. If this is how Hungry horse feel about customer service then it will not be long before they close. We popped in the maids head after and even though its still a green King pub it was a nice environment, staff that cared. You would do well to get the management there to train you all.

People, don't be put off by the odd negative review on Trip Advisor!! This little pub is absolutely fantastic. Such a friendly team who are very welcoming and attentive. The food is very nice and obviously not Michelin star so people shouldn't expect AA rosette style food when they visit! This is good quality affordable food with plenty of deals available.

We thought it would be a good idea to try out a lunch at the Half Moon as we hadn't been for a few years. What a disappointment. I went for the advertised "juicey" turkey roast, The two slices of what looked like prepacked meat were dried out and only really edible when mixed with the gravy. The green beans looked and tasted as though they had been boiled to death. Well that was my meal! My wife's rump steak meal was on another level. We couldn't cut the steak even when using the serrated steak knife. The steak was full of gristle. We complained and they agreed to get a replacement. When this arrived it was hardly any better, we just about managed to cut it but when we tried to eat it there was no flavour and wasn't really edible.. When we complained again we were told that other customers had also had the same problem with the steak and they would have to contact their supplier. I'm afraid that after this very disappointing experience we will not be returning.

My family came in for dinner last night and even though the ladies were short staffed they were so attentive, the food came out boiling hot and my partners steak was cooked to perfection! Couldn’t recommend this place any more if I tried!

Great new management couple. Place cleaner and friendlier. Staff seem happier. Food is good also New menu next week so with my friends will be back to try.

Came here on the 28th June and cannot compliment them enough! Was served by 2 lovely ladies (Heather and Leigh) and manager Mark! Will definitely be returning and thank you again!

We both ordered roast beef. The meal came out with roast potatoes burnt the green beans were very dry. Cauliflower and carrots just about edible. Stuffing ball burnt and beef was a bit tough

Have not been to the Half Moon for years. Ordered Two starters to share. One of them were the nachos to share. I always thought this dish came warm, crispy machos/melted cheese ect. This dish came cold, fridge cold. The nachos were soft almost stale hard to decide which it was. Cheese and sauces stone cold. Maybe this is how its meant to be served. The other shared starter was ok.

I came here Xmas eve for some food. The service was really good, food was pretty good too. The manager brought me my drinks and Chloe served me my food. Both were real nice and the rest of the team looked to be working really efficiently. Nice vibe to the place too

We were driving past to do the food shop and saw the manager outside with Santa and the kids went mad! We decided that once we got the shopping home we’d go back for something to eat in the hopes that Santa was still there! Luckily he was! We were greeting by Demi at the front door who found us a table and explained everything beautifully! We were then served by Charlie and Chloe who were both lovely and pleasant. Food was the best we’ve ever had here! Santa topped the night off for the kids as we haven’t been able to do many Christmassy things due to Covid! We then spoke to Isobel as we knew her from her previous 2 pubs and thanked her for the service delivered. Our visit felt very personal and the staff were just incredible! By far the best visit we’ve ever had here! Well done Isobel for the work you’ve done in the Half Moon and well done team!

Brought my kids in for a breakfast with Santa. On arrival we was greeted at the door by a young lady called Chloe I believe. She was very good at explaining the rules and how the morning would go. She gave us colouring packs for the kids and told us about face masks. Keeping social distance and the one way system. Natasha took our food order and was very polite and helpful. Our food came out very quickly and was lovely. The kids then met Santa and they was over the moon. Santa was very chatty and showed a great interest in the kids. And to top it off they even got a little gift. Will definatly return. Amazing service.

We visited on the 15th of December on our way back from Norwich. We were greeted by Kelly at the door who was very kind and informed us of the coronavirus rules.The service from her was fantasic! A lovely welcome and very warm throughout.10/10 will visit again.ThanksCharlie and merry Christmas

My friend and I visited recently for lunch and must say we were impressed with everything. We were greeted at the entrance by a young lady called Charlie who showed us to our seats after explaining the Covid rules and keeping her distance whilst taking our order, serving us and enquiring if everything okay throughout our meal. The meals were delicious and hot. The only disappointment was that there were no hot drinks and as we are not keen on soft drinks we ordered water and were served tap water in a jug which was much appreciated. The coffee machine had broke down so that was out of their control. We would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic food, awesome service even during these difficult times. Charlie was lovely and made sure we felt at home. Great vibes and friendly atmosphere. Definitely coming back 😊 maybe become a local here 😁

Myself and my husband popped in last night for something to eat as our cooker had broken. I’ve never been to this pub before as I wasn’t really sure what it would be like. I have to say it was wonderful! All the food was so tasty and hot! The staff were so lovely and told us everything we needed to know at the door. Charlie serving us was very attentive as was the manager, Isobel who cleared our tables and got us more drinks! We will definitely be coming back and with friends once these restrictions are lifted.

Visited last Saturday with the family to celebrate a birthday. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They couldn’t do enough to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. Special mention for Charlie who served us and made regular checks to ensure everything was OK, but the whole team were great. Great value throughout the menu and good food which arrived quickly and was very tasty. Would highly recommend and we will be going back. Thanks to all at the Half Moon for making our visit so enjoyable.

Myself and my mum visited the Half Moon after a long awaiting month! We came here as mum feels comfortable and at ease with the Pub Safe measures the team have in place. We are always welcomed with smiling faces and nothing is ever too much for the team! Isobel and the management team have really turned a corner with this pub, we have been coming for years! I was served by Kelly and a young girl who I didn’t catch her name! The food was lovely, the pub felt nice and Christmassy and all the regulations were explained to us! Well done!

Yeah it was really good I enjoyed it. I went with my wife as we'd not been out since lockdown two so it was lovely to be back in the Half Moon with the lovely Isabel, Debi, and Kelly who all helped us today. We came in during the afternoon and all the covid business was done well and didn't seem to affect the food which I was happy about. Will definitely be back soon as I enojoyed it.

OMG the food here was actually amazing i really didnt know what to expect as my husband has been here befour and heard it was cheap so it was a big suprise with it being as tatsy as it was!the service was nice to all the staff really lovely i saw a few faces like kelly and demmy and spoke to the manager isobel who was lovely. ill certainly come back again might even bring a few mates :)

Was taken hear for my birthday, could not fault it in any way. Kelly the waitress was very good nothing was to much trouble. Service was very quick, food was excellent best I have had for a long while. The whole place was cleaned with covid 19 in place absolutely brilliant.

Went on the 23 October for my partners Birthday got a table waited 15 min to be served ordered our drinks 20 min later no drinks so I question why and another girl told us it haven’t been put through so ordered again and ordered food waited again still no drinks girl came back and said the food we had ordered was not available she should have known that when we ordered if the pub was busy I could have understood but it was very quiet we noticed there was no one behind the bar and some of the staff where busy talking to there friends who was playing on fruit machine Won’t be going back It’s a shame we use green king pubs in Bury St Edmunds and they are great

Came in today for a lunch date with my other half. Lovely service from Carley and Natalie! Super friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, 5 stars to them. Asked the waitress Carley who was the chef and it was a gentlemen called nail, food was immaculate, was lovely, warm and came the way I wanted it too! Lovely all together, definitely will return!

Visited tonight for my dad's birthday, it was amazing the food was fantastic and I couldn't of felt any safer would like to thank Kelly for the fantastic table service she provided. Overall a lovely meal would definately recommend!!

Came in on Friday night for a meal and a swift half with the family.Carley, Catherine and Charlie we're amazingly helpful, i give the CCC team a 5 star review all day long. However, your management staff need a review of their own! They we're sat at a table on their phone the whole time i was there! I noticed that her hair was down so lucky she didn't serve me! I think you need to reshuffle or at least watch your cctv so you can see for yourselves that whilst her team are running ragged, she just sat there!

Travelling through the area again I popped in to the Half Moon for a spot to eat on my way home on 9th October. Decided on thr Chicken New York however had to order at till point as my app was not working. Lovely to see Carley again as I can always have good service with a smile.carley took my payment and all Corvid instructions followed. Only saw one other member of staff on duty I think her name was Charlie who appeared to be busy with the few other customer’s dining. I decided to follow my meal with a fudge cake my favourite and a coffee however coffee machine was broken so ordered a coke.it was strange only seeing two members of staff on the floor working no sign of management to oversee the running. Excellent service as always will be back. Well done Carley and Charlie for your assistance

Lovely meal and great service from Carley! Very polite and friendly, could fault her!! Only downfall was Kim sitting on a table on her phone not helping out when it looked they the other staff needing help. Walked past and she was scrolling through Facebook. Didn’t look approachable at all, if anything she looked very moody. All together the meal and service from Carley was lovely!

I came in on Friday evening with my partner, everything was going well apart from the two girls that seemed to be running around on there feet I think there names were carley and Charlie. They made us feel welcomed to the pub service was fantastic from them both. On the other hand I did see the girls struggled which they asked another member of staff to help them out which I think her name was Kim but she was sitting on the first table doing “paperwork” which to me was looking like she was just sat on her phone doing completely nothing for a good few hours and I over hear Kim saying no she is busy which she wasn’t so I asked the girls if they were okay and they seemed knackered from running around. The meal was amazing and the dessert and the rest of the staff on the shift was trying there hardest through this pandemic. So massive well done to the team. I hope my next visit I won’t see a member of staff doing nothing and I would gave a 5 star if it wasn’t for one person.Thank you Lisa.

Went in for evening drinks with a few friends & was greeted and informed on all the covid precautions by Kelly who was a great help, she took our order when we were seated and i preferred to exchange my payment via the till; i was assisted by Kim for my payment who was very informative checked my order was all correct and was overall lovely to chat too! We was then served by Demi who greeted us welcomingly and made sure everything was 100% Couldn't have asked for better service from the lovely staff mentioned.. definitely recommend and will be returning!! I went here for a meal this evening (12.10.2020). A group of six young males from the American base were at the next table. When they got up to move tables they did not wear masks. One got up to walk towards the bar without a mask. I spoke to the staff member who said she would ask someone to speak to him but no-one did. When I asked him if he had a mask he just laughed and showed me the one in his pocket. Tables are cleaned but not seats. Staff collect used glasses by the rims and don't clean their hands afterwards and continue touching doors etc. It left me feeling at risk. They advertise that they are a Safe Pub but they are not following guidelines.The service was very slow. The side salad was not a salad just a couple of bits of lettuce. No orange juice available at the bar. No Monday special available which was what we went there for.

Enjoyed our visit to the pub very much. Friendly staff. Especially Demi went out of her way and nothing was too much to ask for, considering we had toddlers with us. Demi was professional and efficient with a friendly smile. Keep up the good work everyone. Thank you

We went to the hungry horse this morning for breakfast. Very lovely customer service from Carley and the other young girls. Food was lovely and quick service.

Been to this venue twice now and really couldn't fault it! The food was amazing, the prices unbelievable and service was first class! Great effort will definitely return!

Turned up for our pre booked meal only to be told we had to sit outside as the table wasnt ready, no one could answer the time we would have to wait staff were very rude. We was left standing in the door way for a while before a member told us our table was ready. We sat for ten minutes with no communication or menus. We ordered and was told they would bring the drinks over 20 minutes later we got our drinks. After 1 hour and 15 minutes of our arrival our dinner was bought out then no cutlery so a prompt for some before we could eat. Table left full of plates for a long time only cleared when I ordered desserts. The food was ok the service was appalling (some staff were doing their best) so I would just say very poor management. Wont be in any hurry to go back again. Unfortunately this was for a birthday meal so very let down on what should have been a great experience.

With everything Covid going on its a real shame to have to leave a negative review. There were some positives to our visit, we felt safe, our server was lovely and friendly and our food came in decent time. I ordered a steak rare, it came out raw and when I mean raw I don't mean blue i mean actually raw. By the time mine had been recooked my family had finished eating. It happens though, simple mistake. When mine did come out again it was still blue maybe creeping to rare but I couldn't wait any longer so gave in and just ate it (did not want to have to send it back twice) Really bad decision on my part as right now its 3 hour since eating and the amount of belly ache and stomach cramps have not been worth it!

Been here multiple times this year, always get my moneys worth, and an opportunity to support a local business (yes, I know it's GK, but it's our GK). Things have been rough all around as restaurants regain their footing, and there will be stumbles. But the management has bent over backwards to make things right whenever possible. There are still things I can't find at Sainsbury's, so I understand when a restaurant isn't getting all of it's deliveries, things beyond their control. No onion rings? I'll survive, and I want Half Moon to survive also, we'll get through this together. Special thanks to Raul for outstanding customer service, cheers!

Great food and service from Kim & Joe at the bar. The only thing that let it down was the lack of floor staff wearing face coverings and the random staff member wearing a cap, who was in and out of the kitchen when clearly not working as we see him drinking at the bar.

Table for two booked online for 19.30 on a Tuesday evening. Looking forward to finally dining out again. Arrived 5 minutes early and was shown to table, given menus, but not informed about procedures for ordering food and drinks. Had to ask. I went up to the bar to order. Husband wanted steak; I was told there was no steak at all. I was also told they had completely run out of ALL salad and coleslaw. We settled, reluctantly, on chicken skewers and chips. The drinks were served at the table; wrong wine. The waitress had brought a glass of white wine and not red. Had to send it back. We then sat at the empty table and waited for 65 minutes for the food to arrive. There were five other tables occupied, but they all appeared to have been served their main courses. One table actually arrived, were served main course, and desert, and left the restaurant during the time we were waiting for our food. The food eventually arrived, after the 65 minute wait. There was no dip, no salt or pepper, and the chips were stone cold, and the chicken skewers were only just warm. This was meant to be served on a cast iron sizzler plate, which was barely warm. We were so fed up with waiting, and so disappointed with poor choice and quality of the food, I hardly ate anything. We did complain, and were given our money back, but that does not compensate for an evening ruined, and still hungry. It is unlikely that we will go again, which is a shame, since we used to like the place.

I visited here for the 1st time with myself, my 5 year old and 3 other family members. On arrival there was a one way system, plenty of hand sanitizer stations and was greeted at thd door. Once shown to our table we were told that no steaks over 8oz were available only 4oz ones, no hashbrowns and no cod. We sat down and ordered and paid through the app very quick and simple to do. Our drinks arrived quickly, our mains took a while when they arrived they were large portions and hot. We ordered 1 white bread and butter and 1 brown only white turnt up as brown was not available. Overall great customer service throughout, very clean and nice food. We have booked a table again for next week.

Since re opening after lockdown, food has been very good and nice to see some fresh faces. Hollie served us and was really polite and very attentive.

Staff were very helpful and friendly we were served by Hollie. She was great with the kids and we had a lovely lunch. Food was served quickly, we had a great afternoon.

So today me and a friend visited the hungry horse. As we came in one of the girls went through the new covid rules and explained how to order and the new toilet rules. She then went to grab a high chair for my little girl and wiped it all down for me. We ordered our drinks and food all came very quickly and the food was lovely! Best meal Iv had there in ages! All the staff were friendly, polite and looked like they wanted to be there! Just want to say a big thankyou to holly who was brilliant with my little girl and friends little boy she was chatting away to the kids and waving. My little girl kept looking for her when she serving other people. Well done everyone.. the pub feels a lot more friendly and a happy place to be and the food was fab!

Where do I start. I know. When we walk in the door. Our server didn't know the correct government guidelines for food establishments and the hand sanitizer was in an old hand soap dispenser. We finally got a table, me and my family sat down, on the table there was a sign to say it was clean. However I struggled to take my hands off the sticky table to write this complaint. It was a hot day (31°) so we ordered drinks. 10 minutes later drinks came but they weren't ours. This wasn't our fault, someone else ordered to the wrong table number. Although I wouldn't go as far to say it was the other person's fault either because there are two table numbers displayed. Why oh why the person who stuck the sicker of the new number didn't stick it over the old one baffles me. We had to ask twice for our drinks, this is not acceptable. As for the food, 45 minutes for pub grub on a quite MONDAY is outrageous. Fast forward to ordering our desserts, all our old drink glasses and plates were still on the table. Not once we're we checked on. Asked if our food was ok. You'd think they would care after all that they had messed up. Just to top the mood off loud club music could be heard everytime the kitchen opened, unprofessional doesn't even cut it.To sum this up, our experience was just full of false promises and dehydration.

The food is much better than before lockdown and the service from the awesome American guy was outstanding

The furniture is worn and uninviting, a makeover is well overdue. The entire place wasn't particularly clean with sticky tables and menus and food on the floor. The food selection is okay and quality reasonable, but service is poor. We ordered 4 mains, 3 arrived at the same time (one with an incorrect order) but 1 did not. We asked for the remaining meal and was told it was "on its way". More than 5 minutes later the server (who was very polite) asked again what the order was and said it wouldn't be long. Another 5 minutes passed and still no food. By this point the other 3 of us had finished eating. The manager arrived and asked if the person without a meal wanted a drink (to which she declined) and apologised. The food eventually came but was the wrong order, by this point there was little point contesting (she ordered fish & chips with side salad, she got a small battered fish and massive salad with no chips). We ordered desserts and the exact same thing happened to the same person. The server came out and even had to look at the menu because the staff "didn't know how to make it". Although the staff are friendly and helpful enough, the service is poor. I hadn't visited in over a year because of a previous awful experience (which I complained about) but thought I would try returning since new management have taken over. I won’t return; nothing seems to change too much here. Also, last time I came in the summer the flies were unbearable!

Monday steak night, no steaks. No peas or onion rings to go with orders, no substitute. Wings to go with starter, received chicken strips.

Visited today, food was excellent, service very good. The kitchen has much improved since Niall took over running this. Well done everyone, thank you for a fab meal.

Absolute shocking visit. Been here many times before, never again unless manager and chef are sacked. Firstly, environment needs a good clean, around bar area was like an ice rink. Four in my party, two recieved meal ate and finished before mine and my 10 year olds did. sent mine straight back, ordered steak sizzles, it arrived and it looked as if the chef had vomited all over my steak, was a peppercorn sauce, I think not. The steak was not even sizzling, Poor waitress said there was more sauce on my plate and there should not be. My parents ordered scamp both plates cold, we are a family who never eat returned food. I would avoid this place, ruined our family evening. Poor staff looked unhappy, and the whole place looked unkempt and dirty. What a shame I used to love it here.

I really enjoyed my meal today I had a nacho Grande to start with and oh my it was lovely not too soggy with the hot nacho cheese sauce on it and then a Big plate specal New York chicken then a chocolate fudge cake and it didn't even break the bank and considering how busy it was my food came out fairly quickly and all very hot the lovely girl Kathryn at the bar was very polite and told me about all the offers there was on today and the manager that was on made it even more welcoming I didn't catch his name but I know he had an accent Welsh I think it was. and he came up to the table making sure everything was okay and had a lovely little chat with him he really made me feel welcomed. He was going around all the tables is well was nice to see that he cared you don't see that much around here. I would highly recommend this place and will be 100% be coming back Could do with a little redecorating tho!!

Although they seemed a little short staffed this evening, the food was of great quality and a lovely atmosphere. New menu has some good additions. I myself had the burger combo sizzle, steak was cooked just how I liked and the burger tasted great, plentiful food and good value for money. The manager Joe and waitress Chloe checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was okay even with some difficult customers in house. Ultimately will be returning again and would recommend.

Complaint! Terrible service by the manager. Your pub ripped my family off!! It all started when we tried to order food in the hungry horse. We came because of the treat the family offer but bought extra family along so more food was ordered. We ordered the chicken family offer - 2 fries, variety of chicken, and 4 corn on the cobs + a pudding to share. We then ordered jumbo fish & chips for my nan but was told the fish wasn't defrosted yet or we could swap for scampi. We swapped to scampi for the chef. I then wanted to order a steak meal. I told him what I wanted but he said I had to have it from the mix up to have a big plate?! He then told me that it didn't come with peas, it only comes with corn on the cob. I told him, I think he's getting what I want wrong. He then said he had ordered a steak with peas. I have an eating disorder and what was brought out was not what I usually order in a hungry horse restaurant. I couldn't eat what was presented and he just callously stated that is what I ordered they won't change it or refund me for that meal. When the manager came over before the food was brought out, he told us that there isn't any corn on the cob available. I asked what they will offer as an alternative and he didn't offer anything. I suggested carrots and it was a portion size for one but to be shared between a family of four. I asked for more carrots I was told no. I asked for a refund on the steak and was told no. The food was awful and the whole day cost me £44. The manager didn't even give us the pudding we had paid for. He told us to leave if we have a problem. This isn't the first time that we have had a bad experience in this particular restaurant regardless of who the manager is, and which people are employed. I write for families online magazine and will be happy to review this experience but really all I wanted was my money back, then my family and I would never step foot in the half-moon hungry horse again. Also, I have taken photos of the food and the restaurant.

Took our family here for a Saturday lunchtime meal, extremely good value, pleasant staff, clean and tidy

Food came out cold, went back then came out cold again, dont go and waste your money, lots of better places to eat.

We met up with friends (16 of us in total!) Had a lovely evening, very accommodating and friendly. Waiting times for meals were very reasonable considering the amount of people ordering! All food was good! Staff were exceptional. We will most definitely come again! Cant fault our evening here

Must admit we came here not expecting much as previouslly had been a long time ago and wasnt great. Must admit though what a difference, arrived here on a friday evening with a large group. Service was fast, food was good and prices so reasonable, with all offers they have on. Will be back.

Visited a few times and had gone down hill what a difference this visit was !! Food served fresh and hot staff service was superb !!!

Came with family for a meal out. What utter rubbish. No fish meals no milk (no coffees) beans came out with a meal they were cold. Childs meal came out carrots weren't cooked. Sent back brought out had been put in the microwave tasted awful. Peas came out with another Childs meal meant to be beans. Stood at the bar 10mins waiting for a member of staff. Had them Changed came out cold. The service is shocking the food is poor quality out of 8 meals 4 were cold. Whilst in the restaurant 3 other families complained. Other tables were left dirty with plated on. The most terrible restaurant I've ever been.

Myself and my family visited the half moon on Sunday. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant. Service was slow, food was awful. While we was in the restaurant 3 tables had asked for a refund due to poor service and cold food. Safe to say we will not be returning.

The place was dirty ie cobwebs ash trays out side filled with water and over running with cigarette ends. The lady who took the order did not really want to serve you. Every thing you wanted they did not have so you had to go for your second or 3rd option. Over all never will visit this place again.

We decided to give The Half a Moon a third and what turned out to be final try this evening. We have previously enjoyed our meals here however the last 3 times we have visited (over 6 months) have been thoroughly disappointing. I shall concentrate on the most recent visit for the review.

We have used this restaurant on number of occasions and always been pleased this visit long wait at the bar to order bar tender/ food ordering girl seamed unsure what she was doing then even though it was burger Friday no burger buns then second choice no gammons third choice no fish and chips staff uninterested so we decided to leave Very Disappointed

I could have easily stuffed my face at the nearby McDonalds for £7 and felt gross afterwards, but instead, I got to sit down at a table that wasn't elbow to elbow crowds and eat my meal in peace and take my time. And for a solo diner, their specials are unbeatable. I had a rump steak on a bed of grilled onions & peppers with two sides for £5, and no bread, no guilt, and more than enough to feel full the rest of my day. Already looking forward to going back.

Visited with my daughter and the food had improved thanks to the chef Liam and the lovely server Vanessa she's wonderful and saves this place as well as Liam

The food is getting better thanks to Liam, the chef. Fantastic service from Vanessa as always, she always has a smile on her face and will always try to make your visit great

Food can vary in quality. No sirloin steak available and the steak was a bit tough. But good varied menu and good value for money.

Me and the wife had a great meal tonight, staff was great a bit slow need more staff on bar but very good well done all

A family group of 8 who birthday meal with children had the evening spoilt by cold food being served are twice being returned for recording.. I would not recommend eating there.

The meals are good value for the money, the service is very good even though they often seem short staffed. the IPA is often not available, fish was off as the fryer wasn't working, they even ran out of steak once on steak nigh!! The men's toilet door has no lock, the toilet paper dispenser was out of action the seat was loose.

Ten of us booked for Christmas meal,starters came out in good time and were all ok,

The tables when we walked in were sticky and we had to clean them before we sat down.

Out of Roasts, no Pizza. No fish, fryer not working. Looks short staffed, order not complete, waited over 5 minutes extra for kids meals, embarrassing for all.

Well what can i say!! After shacking my head at the thought of another xmas work due at the half moon!!! OMG what an absolute turn around!!!! Fantastic atmosphere, friendly happy to help staff members and hot food!! Drinks flowing well and what a party we had. Thank you ever so much Leanne for hosting our xmas party and good luck in the future. We will be returning :)

We popped in on Boxing Day, it wasn’t busy so we were served in a timely manner but the food wasn’t good. I had the Nachos which were so smothered in salsa, guacamole and sour cream that it got too much to tolerate and was very sickly.

Been here months ago and was not impressed with the service waiting times were too long, so was dreading coming here again but wow what a change Leanne has done a fantastic job food was superb and wasnt waiting long at all. Thank you Leanne and your team for a great night.

We have eaten here several times and we have always had good pub food at great value. The serving staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Ideal for medium sized groups with children. Leanne was especially good on our last visit.

Good hearty pub food at a great price. Lots of choice and different daily offers on food and drink. Always a good idea to book a table as it gets busy.

Absolutely discusting place never have items for meals ie breakfast no egg or sausage!!! Evening it is just a party in the other bar loud music people in food side just told to go to the intimidating side to get a drink because they can't be bothered to walk four steps to other side dirty plates all on the tables shouting and carrying on its just run very ferral when ordering coffee they pretend machine doesn't work because they can't be bothered milk is left out on bar and never put away. in the kitchen the music is absolutely blarring out shouting is to be heard, fish is dripping in oil, all breaded items come out burnt I have never seen so much food go back to kitchen with complaints its a disgusting place people even waiting on doorsteps when it's meant to be open no signs up explaining why!!! I wouldn't even give this place a rating it needs better management!!! And a decent COOK!!!!

Visited with friends for a bite to eat, we were greeted by Leanne, lovely lady! We had fantastic food! Everything was brilliant! Leannes just what the pub needed! We definatly will be back!

My family visited the Half Moon to celebrate my son's 18th Birthday. The table was waiting for us when we arrived. We all enjoyed our meals....the steaks were cooked beautifully and the syrup pudding was delicious! We were served by a young blonde waitress who was very efficient. Overall a very good experience and we will definitely be visiting again. The choice of food on offer is great and it is all very good value for money. Thank you.

Only thing good about this place is the convenience of not cooking.

It can be a lottery when eating steak out but we took a chance. So glad we did. It was excellent - moist with lovely flavour and tender.

Went this evening for a family meal with friends, waited 40 minutes for 8 meals, they all came out cold and the burger was raw!
