I can not speak highly enough of this hotel, and every member of staff that I encountered during my short, (booked at the very last minute) stay there with Bailey, my 2 year old Retired Working Cocker Spaniel.

First of all the positives of the free parking and the friendly staff were great, we got our key early and then it went a bit downhill. Up the stairs we go, back in time 30 years when the rooms were last updated. The bathroom had chipped and broken floor tiles, the shower cold, carpets dirty, no Wi-Fi, the window cannot be locked securely and closes under it's own weight, every surface above 3 feet is dusty and to finish off above the uncomfortable bed is a broken light fixture that hums incessantly above your head, illuminated by the street light that isn't blocked out by the tiny curtain. In desperate need of a deep clean and it'll actually be worth the cheap price tag. Edit: wish I could post a picture of the filthy head board and the broken light, alas I can't

Very welcoming team with friendly service. The rooms were nice, and they have pet friendly options. The location in the center of town is a nice plus too. Spending time in the pub was always an enjoyable experience, with several draft options. The kitchen staff takes great pride in their work, and it shows. We never had a bad meal here! It's not your standard pub fare. They experiment with different flavors and styles, always with exceptional results.

Very friendly pub in Mildenhall. New menu just launched, really tasty homecooked food and great value. Well worth stopping by and giving it a go.

Disgusting filthy room the bathroom was shocking. Floor tiles cracked and fixed with duct tape toilet seat broken, all windows were screwed or painted shut. HORRIBLE

I used this hotel as a place to bed for the night on a Christmas party. The room was £65 not including breakfast. We were greeted in a friendly manner. We stay in a large room overlooking the church. This room was very dated and needed a freshen up. It was clean. Just abit stained and tatty. I feel that the room was over priced. It’s a £50 room including breakfast. I own a steal Campervan and my wife said we should of stayed in the van, and she won’t sleep in there unless it’s parked somewhere amazing. I would call mildenham high street amazing. Lol

I was staying in the hotel for a couple of nights so stopped in the bar for a couple of drinks each night. The bar staff are really friendly and polite and made me feel really welcome. They had a good range of drinks on which is always good. The dining area could probably do with some refurbishment but otherwise it is a nice place to go for a drink.

My husband and I stopped here for a drink. The minute we walked in, I felt uncomfortable. It was like walking into a snug bar. It was small, old fashioned and everyone knew each other, so when we walked in, two strangers, everyone looked round at us. Consequently we sat right near the door, away from the bar.Whilst we were sitting there, one of the regulars made a comment towards us, which made me even more uncomfortable, so we finished our drinks and left, never to return. If you're not a local, don't bother.

we went in to enquire about the parking as we had booked to stay, and I knew as soon as I saw it I could not stay there, a baby who belonged to someone who either worked there or knew someone who worked there had been sick on the floor, flies everywhere, dark and dingy, the person who I think managed the hotel was very abrupt when we asked to check in saying the nothing was ready, when we had been advised online that we could check in at any time. Thankfully we saw another hotel along the road, who had rooms available and we stayed there, it was fab!!! although I did lose £65.00!!!

Once again, a great Sunday Roast was enjoyed, this time being a generous portion of my choice of roast beef (husband had beef & pork) with an enormous, mountainous Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes and a large "help-yourself" dish of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables left at the table, along with coupes of apple sauce and the most amazing zingy horseradish cream ever! The service is friendly and accommodating - and very prompt - and the cafetiere of good coffee and china pot of tea are both enjoyable and sensibly priced. There is always an extensive choice on the dessert menu, (each dish priced at £3.45, I believe), making the whole meal very affordable and a regular option for us. Our two roast dinners, a big jug of iced water with lemon slices & the coffee cost £16.10. We've enjoyed it before and will certainly be back again soon.

Our breakfast was absolutely perfect. Everything was delicious and the service was great. My duvet and I had the full breakfast and my son/husband had the sandwich.

What we had was good, however, according to the Blackboard the meat was Beef, Chicken, or Gammon. Unless you are known to Chef, after we had eaten he came and offered two guests LAMB.. I will attach a picture of our ‘Large’ portions. That is unless you are known to chef, then your portion is considerably larger. Note, the small flat piece of Yorkshire pudding, or at least I think that’s what it is supposed to be. Four, yes four sprouts, I actually asked our lovely waitress if she were sure that these were large portions. Note one slice of parsnip, one slice of sweet potato, that mushed up white stuff is cauliflower cheese and sloppy broccoli. I made my issues known, it’s simply not good enough to give preferential treatment to regulars, unfortunately we are local and were just out for a Sunday lunch. Like I said what we had was nice, and graciously and politely served, but if you know chef you will get larger, large portions. Don’t go here if you don’t know chef.

We found this pub by chance and finding that it was dog friendly we decided to stop for a light lunch. We received a very warm welcome by the relatively new landlord (2 months) who spoilt our dog with treats. The waiting staff were very attentive and friendly and there was a good choice of beers and food. We opted for a portion of breaded prawns and a portion of chips to share. We are naturally chatty people and enjoyed talking to the landlord and sharing some stories. After we had finished eating a group of 8 local farriers (well it was close to Newmarket) came in and we started chatting to them as well. What a great atmosphere and we could have stayed all afternoon but had to get to our next port of call by 4.00pm. The chef also came out to join in the conversations which added to the warm, welcoming feeling. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to this lovely pub and ensure that the new landlord has success in his new venture. We need more pubs like this one.

Nice pub to watch the football or horses on the tele. Standard selection of food and draught beers.
