Great little pub, lovely pub food and great service, been told under new management so looking forward to what’s to come, we will be back

Disappointed that the waitress wanted to dispute a 99p children’s desert because I didn’t order it as part of the children’s meal when I placed the main order - often in these places you just ask for it at the end so an easy mistake to make. I wasn’t prompted to order it at the beginning so I wasn’t to know. Just an annoying end to the meal all over 99p, clearly no need to keep customers happy anymore 🤷‍♀️ Food was average but plentiful. Just ate here due to staying in the Premier Inn and feel they’ve let Premier Inn down with their unwillingness to stray from ‘the system’.

Had a table booked for 7pm. Turned up and had to wait a while to order. The ordering experience was painful. We ordered the kids 3 course meal deal for £5.99, 2 main course salads & 2 side orders of a jacket spud with butter. Food took an hour to arrive, kids starter missing & had to ask. Salads were good. It’s now almost 9pm & the kids ice cream has *just* arrived. Place is dirty, hugely understaffed & just chaos. I hate to have to chase an overworked server (poor woman running around like a headless chicken) but really how long can you sit looking at uncleared plates waiting for a little dish of ice cream? Need to get our child to bed! Been eating here since 2008 & watched it go steadily downhill. This may just be our last visit. AVOID. Find somewhere else.

Staying at the hotel attached to this restaurant for the 4th time in a year and again outstanding. 3 night stay and ate at the restaurant every morning and every evening. Ned and his team really couldn’t do any more than they do to make everything as it should be. Food is amazing and excellent customer service will defo return 👍

This is the dirtiest place I have ever been to they gave us the food cool and plates dirty and there was a fly in my Little girl food and the manager if appalling I ask her can u bring us a new food please bc theirs has a fly in it and plates where surety and she said well dont eat it then but I have all ready payed so I said can I get a refund and she said no I spend 60 quid that day and she didn’t even give it back left the restaurant with my little girl hungry and absolutely disgusted

Went downstairs today for a drink with my partner at 9:40pm before bed, but was told we are closed. Website states 10pm!! Extremely poor for a restaurant attached to a premier inn. Was also told last orders are at 9:30pm. What place issues last orders at that time, it's pathetic! It all worked out ok as we went to Morrisons which is just down the road to buy alcohol there and took it to our room, which actually worked out alot cheaper than the prices they charge!!! Seriously, rising sun needs to get a grip, your attached to a hotel!! Is it that hard to pour a drink? There is also no sign to state last order timings. AVOID IF YOU WANT A DRINK BEFORE BED/NIGHT TIME.

Absolutely awful Avoid at all costs Stayed in the hotel next door, came for a drink on arrival and staff didn't know anything. The large Blonde older lady incredibly rude and had no idea what she was doing. She had a T-shirt saying ask me for cocktails but when I ordered one she had no idea what she was doing. She was incapable of pouring a pint. She was more interested in having a joke with the other staff walking by the bar. The manager came to help and treated us like an inconvenience! Had breakfast in the morning and lack of plates, juice ran out and rude staff. We will not be back!

Went here today for Christmas dinner and the service was a joke waited an hour for drinks and starters. The main meal was then another hour and wasn’t complete no sides that you had to order separately just overall very bad service staff didn’t seem to no what they were doing. Food cold and not cooked properly some things rock hard very disappointing especially for a Christmas Day meal that is £53 per person

We had booked into the hotel next door for 2 nights Sun/Tue so had booked our tables and breakfast in advance. When we got to breakfast on the first day, we got there for about 8.30am, we were told there were no drinks available that came with breakfast so no fruit juice and couldn't have tea or coffee as there was no milk, this was because their delivery hadn't turned up, I know this was not their fault but no alternative was offer, such as 1 fruit shoot for the children or a soft drink for the adults. The next day we had spent all day at Harry Potter Studio and had booked a table ready for when we returned, after waiting for about 20mins at the bar to be served as there was only one gentleman serving, he then turned around and told a few of us that were waing that they could no longer take any more orders, this was at 7pm, I asked if there was anywhere else to go and get said he didn't know, I explained we weren't from the area and maybe he could suggest somewhere else to go and was rudely told to look it up our selves as he didn't know and wasn't up to him to look. We found a Harvester which was about a 5min walk down the road, luckily they could seat us at short notice, when speaking with the server there she told us that a lot of people turn up to them as they have always got problems in Brewers Fayre.

Ridiculous. 5 of the beers were unavailable as it seems an order must have been messed up. Having given good reviews of the place in the past I now seriously question whether I will continue coming here. The staff, especially Jane, were polite friendly and courteous. Such a shame they have to deal with upset customers.

We booked a table for Sunday Dinner at 12:30am. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly female staff member and we requested a quiet table. We were taken to an area of the restaurant which had been sectioned off, so there were no other customers there. One slight problem was that it was located directly under the air conditioning so some of our party found it cold. However, when this was mentioned to the staff they made some changes to the settings to make it a more comfortable temperature . The other issue with this area was that the carpet was very worn and sticky. As I have already mentioned though this area had been closed off. The restaurant seating on the other side of the closure had new carpet. I therefore suspect that the restaurant are working on replacing the carpet and that the area we were in as we had requested a quieter area had not yet been done. The menu was very varied and we found options to suit everyone’s taste. Staff were very helpful and friendly when ordering at the bar. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time but given that the restaurant was not very busy possibly should have been quicker. However, when the food arrived it was hot, well presented and above all tasted good. We all enjoyed our meal, the only small problem here was that the carvery had run out of roast potatoes and so the person who was having them had to wait. They were brought to the table with a few minutes so this was not a big issue and I’m sure it is hard for the restaurant to gage how much of each carvery item they need to have available. The fact that it was handled in such a good way by the staff illustrated to us that they were doing their best. We ordered refillable sodas and the refill station was easily accessible and clean. It did indicate that various flavours could be added to drinks but this option didn’t seem to be available. Tea & Coffee refills were also in a good position with all required items available and again the area was clean & tidy. Desserts were served very quickly and on the whole very enjoyable although the people who had the Banoffee Cheesecake were not very impressed and found the cheesecake topping to be very powdery and not pleasant. Overall , we had a lovely dinner and we all said it was one of our best experiences of dining out for quite some time. I have mentioned a few small things that weren’t perfect but these were far outweighed by the service of the staff and the enjoyable food. We will definitely be visiting again.

This place needs a good scrub it is actually disgusting to the point where we opened up the menu and it was so dirty and sticky. The bar area is grubby and the floors sticky, the toilets stank and one out of order and half the beers off sale. Awful place, we didn’t order food as the public facing is so dirty god only knows what the kitchen is like! We left after 1 drink.

This is definitely one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. We had a large group. We booked ahead (so they knew we were coming) and even pre-ordered so they knew exactly what we were ordering. It was complete chaos. We had to wait our own tables (delivering food and clearing plates) as they did not have enough staff to cover the shift. In addition, the food was horrible. It was either cooked from frozen (imagine frozen mushrooms!!) or microwaved in packets and poured on to the plate. i had a piece of chicken, grilled, smeared with BBQ sauce, covered with a piece of bacon and a slice of cheese. Most of the food was a joke. My 10-year old could have done a better job. In addition to us waiting the tables ourselves, the staff berated us for 'getting the order wrong'. I was astounded that they blamed us and made us pay for their mistakes. I should have sent them an invoice for the time we spent waiting on tables. After three and half hours of this debacle, our dessert finally arrived, by which time, most of us were too tired to eat it. Please think twice before eating at this restaurant. I would not waste your money or your time.

As a couple with a Teenage Son, my Wife and I elected for the Carvery, my Son for Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas. My Wife chose a mix of Roast Beef and Turkey and I chose Rost Beef, of course, it was, help yourself to Roast Potatoes, Roast Vegetables, and Yorkshire Puddings. We were all pleased with our meals and finished everything, the other choice of meat was Roast Gammon, the different Sauces on a side table, Mustard, Horseradish, etc. I chose a small glass of house Red Wine, and my Son chose Lemonade, they do endless Soft Drinks and I think that would have been a better option for my Son as he soon finished his drink

Stayed at the premier inn and came in for breakfast and for an evening meal, the quality of the food was excellent, the breakfast was great and well present so decided to come back in the evening and had a lovely meal. The steak was cooked to perfection so well done to the head chef! The service was also very good and the staff were very attentive in asking how my meal was which I gave great feedback too.
